- 만찬 시간이 되자 예수께서 사도들과 함께 자리에 앉아
- "내가 고난을 당하기 전에 너희와 이 과월절 음식을 함께 나누려고 얼마나 별러왔는지 모른다.
- 잘 들어두어라. 나는 과월절 음식의 본뜻이 하느님 나라에서 성취되기까지는 이 과월절 음식을 다시는 먹지 않겠다." 하고 말씀하셨다.
- 그리고 잔을 들어 감사의 기도를 올리신 다음 "자, 이 잔을 받아 나누어 마셔라.
- 잘 들어라. 이제부터 하느님 나라가 올 때까지는 포도로 빚은 것을 나는 결코 마시지 않겠다." 하시고는

- When the hour had come, He reclined at the table, and the apostles with Him.
- And He said to them, "I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer;
- for I say to you, I shall never again eat it until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God."
- And when He had taken a cup and given thanks, He said, "Take this and share it among yourselves;
- for I say to you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine from now on until the kingdom of God comes."

- 또 빵을 들어 감사 기도를 올리신 다음 그것을 떼어 제자들에게 주시며 "이것은 너희를 위하여 내어주는 내 몸이다. 나를 기념하여 이 예식을 행하여라." 하고 말씀하셨다.
- 음식을 나눈 뒤에 또 그와 같이 잔을 들어 "이것은 내 피로 맺는 새로운 계약의 잔이다. 나는 너희를 위하여 이 피를 흘리는 것이다." 하셨다.
- "그런데 나를 제 손으로 잡아 넘길 자가 지금 나와 함께 이 식탁에 앉아 있다.
- 사람의 아들은 하느님께서 정하신 대로 가지만 사람의 아들을 잡아 넘기는 그 사람은 화를 입을 것이다."
- 이 말씀을 듣고 제자들은 자기들 중에 그런 짓을 하려는 자가 도대체 누구일까 하고 서로 물었다.

- And when He had taken some bread and given thanks, He broke it and gave it to them, saying, "This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me."
- And in the same way He took the cup after they had eaten, saying, "This cup which is poured out for you is the new covenant in My blood.
- "But behold, the hand of the one betraying Me is with Mine on the table.
- "For indeed, the Son of Man is going as it has been determined; but woe to that man by whom He is betrayed!"
- And they began to discuss among themselves which one of them it might be who was going to do this thing.

- 제자들 사이에서 누구를 제일 높게 볼 것이냐는 문제로 옥신각신하는 것을 보시고
- 예수께서 이렇게 말씀하셨다. "이 세상의 왕들은 강제로 백성을 다스린다. 그리고 백성들에게 권력을 휘두르는 사람들은 백성의 은인으로 행세한다.
- 그러나 너희는 그래서는 안 된다. 오히려 너희 중에서 제일 높은 사람은 제일 낮은 사람처럼 처신해야 하고 지배하는 사람은 섬기는 사람처럼 처신해야 한다.
- 식탁에 앉은 사람과 심부름하는 사람 중에 어느 편이 더 높은 사람이냐? 높은 사람은 식탁에 앉은 사람이 아니냐? 그러나 나는 심부름하는 사람으로 여기에 와 있다."
- "너희는 내가 온갖 시련을 겪는 동안 나와 함께 견디어 왔으니

- And there arose also a dispute among them as to which one of them was regarded to be greatest.
- And He said to them, "The kings of the Gentiles lord it over them; and those who have authority over them are called 'Benefactors.'
- "But it is not this way with you, but the one who is the greatest among you must become like the youngest, and the leader like the servant.
- "For who is greater, the one who reclines at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who reclines at the table? But I am among you as the one who serves.
- "You are those who have stood by Me in My trials;

- 내 아버지께서 나에게 왕권을 주신 것처럼 나도 너희에게 왕권을 주겠다.
- 너희는 내 나라에서 내 식탁에 앉아 먹고 마시며 옥좌에 앉아 이스라엘의 열두 지파를 심판하게 될 것이다."
- "시몬아, 시몬아, 들어라. 사탄이 이제는 키로 밀을 까부르듯이 너희를 제멋대로 다루게 되었다.
- 그러나 나는 네가 믿음을 잃지 않도록 기도하였다. 그러니 네가 나에게 다시 돌아오거든 형제들에게 힘이 되어다오."
- 베드로는 이 말씀을 듣고 "주님, 저는 주님과 함께라면 감옥에 가도 좋고 죽어도 좋습니다." 하고 대답하였다.

- and just as My Father has granted Me a kingdom, I grant you
- that you may eat and drink at My table in My kingdom, and you will sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
- "Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has demanded permission to sift you like wheat;
- but I have prayed for you, that your faith may not fail; and you, when once you have turned again, strengthen your brothers."
- But he said to Him, "Lord, with You I am ready to go both to prison and to death!"

- 그러나 예수께서는 "베드로야, 내 말을 잘 들어라. 오늘 닭이 울기 전에 너는 세 번이나 나를 모른다고 할 것이다." 하셨다.

- And He said, "I say to you, Peter, the rooster will not crow today until you have denied three times that you know Me."
