- 그 이튿날의 일이다. 호수 건너편에 남아 있던 군중은, 거기에 배가 한 척밖에 없었는데 예수께서는 그 배에 타지 않으시고 제자들끼리만 타고 떠난 것을 알고 있었다.
- 한편 티베리아로부터 다른 작은 배 몇 척이 주께서 감사의 기도를 드리시고 빵을 나누어 먹이시던 곳으로 가까이 와 닿았다.
- 그런데 군중은 거기에서도 예수와 제자들의 모습이 보이지 않자 그 배들을 타고 예수를 찾아 가파르나움으로 떠났다.
- 그들은 호수를 건너가서야 예수를 찾아내고 "선생님, 언제 이쪽으로 오셨습니까?" 하고 물었다.
- 예수께서는 "정말 잘 들어두어라. 너희가 지금 나를 찾아온 것은 내 기적의 뜻을 깨달았기 때문이 아니라 빵을 배불리 먹었기 때문이다.

- The next day the crowd that stood on the other side of the sea saw that there was no other small boat there, except one, and that Jesus had not entered with His disciples into the boat, but that His disciples had gone away alone.
- There came other small boats from Tiberias near to the place where they ate the bread after the Lord had given thanks.
- So when the crowd saw that Jesus was not there, nor His disciples, they themselves got into the small boats, and came to Capernaum seeking Jesus.
- When they found Him on the other side of the sea, they said to Him, "Rabbi, when did You get here?"
- Jesus answered them and said, "Truly, truly, I say to you, you seek Me, not because you saw signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled.

- 썩어 없어질 양식을 얻으려고 힘쓰지 말고 영원히 살게 하며 없어지지 않을 양식을 얻도록 힘써라. 이 양식은 사람의 아들이 너희에게 주려는 것이다. 하느님 아버지께서 사람의 아들에게 그 권능을 주셨기 때문이다." 하고 말씀하셨다.
- 사람들은 이 말씀을 듣고 "하느님의 일을 위해서 우리는 무엇을 해야 합니까?" 하고 물었다.
- 예수께서는 "하느님께서 보내신 이를 믿는 것이 곧 하느님의 일을 하는 것이다." 하고 대답하셨다.
- 그들은 다시 "무슨 기적을 보여 우리로 하여금 믿게 하시겠습니까? 선생님은 무슨 일을 하시렵니까?
- '그는 하늘에서 빵을 내려다가 그들을 먹이셨다.' 한 성경 말씀대로 우리 조상들은 광야에서 만나를 먹었습니다." 하고 말했다.

- "Do not work for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you, for on Him the Father, God, has set His seal."
- Therefore they said to Him, "What shall we do, so that we may work the works of God?"
- Jesus answered and said to them, "This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent."
- So they said to Him, "What then do You do for a sign, so that we may see, and believe You? What work do You perform?
- "Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness; as it is written, 'HE GAVE THEM BREAD OUT OF HEAVEN TO EAT.'"

- 예수께서는 이렇게 말씀하셨다. "정말 잘 들어두어라. 하늘에서 빵을 내려다가 너희를 먹인 사람은 모세가 아니다. 하늘에서 너희에게 진정한 빵을 내려주시는 분은 내 아버지이시다.
- 하느님께서 주시는 빵은 하늘에서 내려오는 것이며 세상에 생명을 준다."
- 이 말씀을 듣고 그들이 "선생님, 그 빵을 항상 저희에게 주십시오." 하자
- 예수께서는 이렇게 대답하셨다. "내가 바로 생명의 빵이다. 나에게 오는 사람은 결코 배고프지 않고 나를 믿는 사람은 결코 목마르지 않을 것이다.
- 내가 이미 말하였거니와 너희는 나를 보고도 나를 믿지 않는다.

- Jesus then said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, it is not Moses who has given you the bread out of heaven, but it is My Father who gives you the true bread out of heaven.
- "For the bread of God is that which comes down out of heaven, and gives life to the world."
- Then they said to Him, "Lord, always give us this bread."
- Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in Me will never thirst.
- "But I said to you that you have seen Me, and yet do not believe.

- 그러나 아버지께서 내게 맡기시는 사람은 누구나 나에게 올 것이며 나에게 오는 사람은 내가 결코 외면하지 않을 것이다.
- 나는 내 뜻을 이루려고 하늘에서 내려온 것이 아니라 나를 보내신 분의 뜻을 이루려고 왔다.
- 나를 보내신 분의 뜻은 내게 맡기신 사람을 하나도 잃지 않고 마지막 날에 모두 살리는 일이다.
- 그렇다. 아들을 보고 믿는 사람은 누구나 영원한 생명을 얻게 하는 것이 내 아버지의 뜻이다. 나는 마지막 날에 그들을 모두 살릴 것이다."

- "All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will certainly not cast out.
- "For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.
- "This is the will of Him who sent Me, that of all that He has given Me I lose nothing, but raise it up on the last day.
- "For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day."
