요한복음 18:28-19:16

 예수님을 심문한 빌라도는 죄가 없음을 알고 놓아 주려 했으나, 무리들은 예수님을 십자가에 못박으라고 요구했다. 이에 굴복한 빌라도는 예수님을 십자가에 못박도록 무리에게 넘겨 주었다,
  
  빌라도의 심문(18:28-18:40)    
 
  1. 사람들이 예수를 가야파의 집에서 총독 관저로 끌고 갔다. 그 때는 이른 아침이었는데 그들은 부정을 타서 과월절 음식을 먹지 못하게 될까봐 총독 관저에는 들어가지 않았다.
  2. 결국 빌라도가 밖으로 나와 그들에게 "너희는 이 사람을 무슨 죄로 고발하느냐?" 하고 물었다.
  3. 그들은 빌라도에게 "이 사람이 죄인이 아니라면 우리가 왜 여기까지 끌고 왔겠습니까?" 하고 대답하였다.
  4. 그러자 빌라도는 "너희가 데리고 가서 너희의 법대로 처리하여라." 하고 말하였다. 유다인들은 "우리에게는 사람을 사형에 처할 권한이 없습니다." 하고 대답하였다.
  5. 이렇게 해서 예수께서 당신이 어떻게 돌아가실 것인가를 암시하여 하신 말씀이 이루어지게 되었다.
  1. Then they led Jesus from Caiaphas into the Praetorium, and it was early; and they themselves did not enter into the Praetorium so that they would not be defiled, but might eat the Passover.
  2. Therefore Pilate went out to them and said, "What accusation do you bring against this Man?"
  3. They answered and said to him, "If this Man were not an evildoer, we would not have delivered Him to you."
  4. So Pilate said to them, "Take Him yourselves, and judge Him according to your law." The Jews said to him, "We are not permitted to put anyone to death,"
  5. to fulfill the word of Jesus which He spoke, signifying by what kind of death He was about to die.
  1. 빌라도는 다시 관저 안으로 들어가서 예수를 불러놓고 "네가 유다인의 왕인가?" 하고 물었다.
  2. 예수께서는 "그것은 네 말이냐? 아니면 나에 관해서 다른 사람이 들려준 말을 듣고 하는 말이냐?" 하고 반문하셨다.
  3. 빌라도는 "내가 유다인인 줄로 아느냐? 너를 내게 넘겨준 자들은 너희 동족과 대사제들인데 도대체 너는 무슨 일을 했느냐?" 하고 물었다.
  4. 예수께서는 이렇게 대답하셨다. "내 왕국은 이 세상 것이 아니다. 만일 내 왕국이 이 세상 것이라면 내 부하들이 싸워서 나를 유다인들의 손에 넘어가지 않게 했을 것이다. 내 왕국은 결코 이 세상 것이 아니다."
  5. "아무튼 네가 왕이냐?" 하고 빌라도가 묻자 예수께서는 "내가 왕이라고 네가 말했다. 나는 오직 진리를 증언하려고 났으며 그 때문에 세상에 왔다. 진리 편에 선 사람은 내 말을 귀담아듣는다." 하고 대답하셨다.
  1. Therefore Pilate entered again into the Praetorium, and summoned Jesus and said to Him, "Are You the King of the Jews?"
  2. Jesus answered, "Are you saying this on your own initiative, or did others tell you about Me?"
  3. Pilate answered, "I am not a Jew, am I? Your own nation and the chief priests delivered You to me; what have You done?"
  4. Jesus answered, "My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, then My servants would be fighting so that I would not be handed over to the Jews; but as it is, My kingdom is not of this realm."
  5. Therefore Pilate said to Him, "So You are a king?" Jesus answered, "You say correctly that I am a king For this I have been born, and for this I have come into the world, to testify to the truth Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice."
  1. 빌라도는 예수께 "진리가 무엇인가?" 하고 물었다.
  2. 과월절이 되면 나는 너희의 관례에 따라 죄인 하나를 놓아주곤 했는데 이번에는 이 유다인의 왕을 놓아주는 것이 어떻겠느냐?" 하고 물었다.
  3. 그러자 그들은 악을 쓰며 "그자는 안 됩니다. 바라빠를 놓아주시오." 하고 소리질렀다. 바라빠는 강도였다.
  1. Pilate said to Him, "What is truth?" And when he had said this, he went out again to the Jews and said to them, "I find no guilt in Him.
  2. "But you have a custom that I release someone for you at the Passover; do you wish then that I release for you the King of the Jews?"
  3. So they cried out again, saying, "Not this Man, but Barabbas." Now Barabbas was a robber.
 
  사형 선고(19:1-19:16)    
 
  1. 빌라도는 안으로 들어가서 부하들을 시켜 예수를 데려다가 매질하게 하였다.
  2. 병사들은 가시나무로 왕관을 엮어 예수의 머리에 씌우고 자홍색 용포를 입혔다.
  3. 그리고 예수 앞에 다가서서 "유다인의 왕 만세!" 하고 소리치면서 그의 뺨을 때렸다.
  4. 빌라도는 다시 밖으로 나와서 유다인들에게 이렇게 말했다. "그를 너희 앞에 끌어내 오겠다. 내가 그에게서 아무런 혐의도 찾아내지 못했다는 것을 너희도 이제 보면 알 것이다."
  5. 예수께서는 가시관을 머리에 쓰시고 자홍색 용포를 걸치시고 밖으로 나오셨다. 빌라도는 사람들에게 예수를 가리켜 보이며 "자, 이 사람이다." 하고 말하였다.
  1. Pilate then took Jesus and scourged Him.
  2. And the soldiers twisted together a crown of thorns and put it on His head, and put a purple robe on Him;
  3. and they began to come up to Him and say, "Hail, King of the Jews!" and to give Him slaps in the face.
  4. Pilate came out again and said to them, "Behold, I am bringing Him out to you so that you may know that I find no guilt in Him."
  5. Jesus then came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. Pilate said to them, "Behold, the Man!"
  1. 대사제들과 경비병들은 예수를 보자마자 "십자가에 못박으시오. 십자가에!" 하며 큰소리로 외쳤다. 그러자 빌라도는 "그러면 데려다가 너희의 손으로 십자가에 못박아라. 나는 그에게서 아무 죄목도 찾아내지 못하였다." 하고 말하였다.
  2. 유다인들은 또다시 "우리에게는 율법이 있습니다. 그 율법대로 하면 그자는 제가 하느님의 아들이라고 했으니 죽어 마땅합니다." 하고 대꾸하였다.
  3. 빌라도는 이 말을 듣고 더욱 두려운 마음이 들어
  4. 예수를 데리고 안으로 들어가 "도대체 너는 어디에서 온 사람이냐?" 하고 물었다. 예수께서는 아무 대답도 하지 않으셨다.
  5. "나에게도 말을 하지 않을 작정이냐? 나에게는 너를 놓아줄 수도 있고 십자가형에 처할 수도 있는 권한이 있는 줄을 모르느냐?" 빌라도의 이 말에
  1. So when the chief priests and the officers saw Him, they cried out saying, "Crucify, crucify!" Pilate said to them, "Take Him yourselves and crucify Him, for I find no guilt in Him."
  2. The Jews answered him, "We have a law, and by that law He ought to die because He made Himself out to be the Son of God."
  3. Therefore when Pilate heard this statement, he was even more afraid;
  4. and he entered into the Praetorium again and said to Jesus, "Where are You from?" But Jesus gave him no answer.
  5. So Pilate said to Him, "You do not speak to me? Do You not know that I have authority to release You, and I have authority to crucify You?"
  1. 예수께서는 이렇게 대답하셨다. "네가 하늘에서 권한을 받지 않았다면 나를 어떻게도 할 수 없을 것이다. 그러므로 나를 너에게 넘겨준 사람의 죄가 더 크다."
  2. 이 말을 들은 빌라도는 예수를 놓아줄 기회를 찾기 시작하였다. 그러나 유다인들은 "만일 그자를 놓아준다면 총독님은 카이사르의 충신이 아닙니다. 누구든지 자기를 왕이라고 하는 자는 카이사르의 적이 아닙니까?" 하고 큰소리로 외쳤다.
  3. 빌라도는 이 말을 듣고 예수를 데리고 나와 리토스트로토스라 하는 자리에 올라가 자기 재판관석에 앉았다. 리토스트로토스라는 말은 히브리 말로 가빠타라고 하는데 '돌 깔아놓은 자리'라는 뜻이다.
  4. 그 날은 과월절 준비일이었고 때는 낮 열두 시쯤이었다. 빌라도는 유다인들을 둘러보며 "자, 여기 너희의 왕이 있다." 하고 말하였다.
  5. 그들은 "죽이시오. 죽이시오. 십자가에 못박아 죽이시오!" 하고 외쳤다. 빌라도가 "너희의 왕을 나더러 십자가형에 처하란 말이냐?" 하고 말하자 대사제들은 "우리의 왕은 카이사르밖에는 없습니다." 하고 대답하였다.
  1. Jesus answered, "You would have no authority over Me, unless it had been given you from above; for this reason he who delivered Me to you has the greater sin."
  2. As a result of this Pilate made efforts to release Him, but the Jews cried out saying, "If you release this Man, you are no friend of Caesar; everyone who makes himself out to be a king opposes Caesar."
  3. Therefore when Pilate heard these words, he brought Jesus out, and sat down on the judgment seat at a place called The Pavement, but in Hebrew, Gabbatha.
  4. Now it was the day of preparation for the Passover; it was about the sixth hour And he said to the Jews, "Behold, your King!"
  5. So they cried out, "Away with Him, away with Him, crucify Him!" Pilate said to them, "Shall I crucify your King?" The chief priests answered, "We have no king but Caesar."
  1. 그래서 빌라도는 예수를 십자가에 못박으라고 그들에게 내어주었다.
  1. So he then handed Him over to them to be crucified.
