역대하 13:1-15:19

 르호보암에 이어 왕위에 오른 유다 왕 아비야는 북이스라엘 여로보암과의 전투에서 전력상 열세에도 불구하고 대승을 거두었다. 유다의 3대 왕 아사는 우상을 파하고 성읍을 건축하는 등의 선정을 베풀므로써, 세라의 침입시 하나님의 도우심을 받아 승리할 수 있었다. 아사는 아사랴의 예언을 듣고 종교 개혁을 시행했으며, 이에 하나님께서는 왕국의 평안을 허락하셨다.
  
  아비야의 유다 통치(13:1-13:22)    
 
  1. 아비야가 유다 왕이 된 것은 여로보암 왕 제십팔년이었다.
  2. 그는 삼 년 동안 예루살렘에서 다스렸다. 그의 어머니는 기브아 사람 우리엘의 딸로서 이름은 미가야라고 하였다. 아비야와 여로보암 사이에 전쟁이 있었다.
  3. 아비야는 용맹한 정예군 사십만을 이끌고 싸우러 나갔고, 여로보암은 용맹한 정예군 팔십만을 거느리고 대진하였다.
  4. 아비야는 에브라임 산악 지대에 있는 스마라임 산 위에 서서 말하였다. "여로보암과 온 이스라엘은 내 말을 들어라.
  5. 너희도 알다시피 이스라엘의 하느님 야훼께서는 다윗과 소금으로 계약을 맺으시고 이스라엘을 다스릴 왕권을 그와 그의 후손에게 영원히 주셨는데
  1. In the eighteenth year of King Jeroboam, Abijah became king over Judah.
  2. He reigned three years in Jerusalem; and his mother's name was Micaiah the daughter of Uriel of Gibeah. Now there was war between Abijah and Jeroboam.
  3. Abijah began the battle with an army of valiant warriors, 400,000 chosen men, while Jeroboam drew up in battle formation against him with 800,000 chosen men who were valiant warriors.
  4. Then Abijah stood on Mount Zemaraim, which is in the hill country of Ephraim, and said, "Listen to me, Jeroboam and all Israel:
  5. "Do you not know that the LORD God of Israel gave the rule over Israel forever to David and his sons by a covenant of salt?
  1. 다윗의 아들 솔로몬의 신하였던 느밧의 아들 여로보암이 일어나 상전에게 반역하였다.
  2. 무뢰배와 건달들이 그와 함께 작당하여 솔로몬의 아들 르호보암을 꺾었다. 르호보암은 나이도 어렸고 마음도 약하였으므로 당해 내지 못하고 말았다.
  3. 너희는 지금 감히 다윗 후손의 수중에 든 야훼의 왕권에 항거하고 있는 것이다. 너희가 지금 수많은 무리를 거느리고 거기에다가 여로보암이 하느님이랍시고 만들어준 금송아지마저 끌고 나왔구나.
  4. 너희는 아론의 후손인 사제들과 레위인들까지 내쫓고 이방인들처럼 너희 마음대로 사제를 내세우지 않았느냐? 누구나 성직을 맡겠다고 하여 수송아지 한 마리와 숫양 일곱 마리만 끌고 오면 허수아비 사제가 되는 판이다.
  5. 그러나 우리는 그렇지 않다. 우리 하느님은 야훼시다. 우리는 그를 저버리지 않았다. 야훼를 섬기는 사제들은 아론의 후손들이며, 레위인들도 함께 일을 하고 있다.
  1. "Yet Jeroboam the son of Nebat, the servant of Solomon the son of David, rose up and rebelled against his master,
  2. and worthless men gathered about him, scoundrels, who proved too strong for Rehoboam, the son of Solomon, when he was young and timid and could not hold his own against them.
  3. "So now you intend to resist the kingdom of the LORD through the sons of David, being a great multitude and having with you the golden calves which Jeroboam made for gods for you.
  4. "Have you not driven out the priests of the LORD, the sons of Aaron and the Levites, and made for yourselves priests like the peoples of other lands? Whoever comes to consecrate himself with a young bull and seven rams, even he may become a priest of what are no gods.
  5. "But as for us, the LORD is our God, and we have not forsaken Him; and the sons of Aaron are ministering to the LORD as priests, and the Levites attend to their work.
  1. 이들은 아침 저녁으로 우리 하느님 야훼께 번제를 드린다. 또 아름다운 향기가 나는 향을 피우고 정한 제사 상에 떡을 차려놓으며, 저녁마다 금등에 불을 켠다. 우리는 우리 하느님 야훼께서 정해 주신 법도를 그대로 지키고 있는데 너희는 그를 배반하였다.
  2. 들어라. 우리 선두에는 하느님께서 함께 하신다. 그의 사제들은 너희를 공격하라는 나팔을 불기 위해 서 있다. 이스라엘 백성들아, 너희 선조들의 하느님 야훼와 싸울 생각을 마라. 될 일이 아니다."
  3. 여로보암은 복병을 유다 군 뒤로 돌아가게 하였다. 이스라엘 군은 복병을 적의 뒤에 숨겨두고 정면에서 대결하려고 하였던 것이다.
  4. 유다 군이 둘러보니, 적에게 앞뒤로 공격을 받고 있는 것이 아닌가? 그러나 야훼께 부르짖으며 사제들이 나팔을 불자,
  5. 유다 군은 고함을 질렀다. 유다 군이 고함을 지르자 하느님께서 여로보암이 거느린 이스라엘 전군을 아비야와 유다 군 앞에서 치시니,
  1. "Every morning and evening they burn to the LORD burnt offerings and fragrant incense, and the showbread is set on the clean table, and the golden lampstand with its lamps is ready to light every evening; for we keep the charge of the LORD our God, but you have forsaken Him.
  2. "Now behold, God is with us at our head and His priests with the signal trumpets to sound the alarm against you. O sons of Israel, do not fight against the LORD God of your fathers, for you will not succeed."
  3. But Jeroboam had set an ambush to come from the rear, so that Israel was in front of Judah and the ambush was behind them.
  4. When Judah turned around, behold, they were attacked both front and rear; so they cried to the LORD, and the priests blew the trumpets.
  5. Then the men of Judah raised a war cry, and when the men of Judah raised the war cry, then it was that God routed Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah.
  1. 이스라엘 군은 유다 군 앞에서 도망치게 되었다. 이렇게 하여 하느님께서 이스라엘 군을 유다 군의 손에 부치시니,
  2. 아비야는 휘하 군대를 거느리고 그들을 무찔렀다. 그 때 쓰러진 이스라엘 병사는 오십만이나 되었다.
  3. 이리하여 이스라엘 군은 굴복하고 말았다. 유다 백성은 선조들의 하느님 야훼를 믿은 덕으로 승리하게 되었던 것이다.
  4. 아비야는 여로보암을 추격하여 베델과 주변 마을들, 여사나와 주변 마을들, 에브론과 주변 마을들을 정복하였다.
  5. 여로보암은 아비야 생전에 다시 힘을 쓰지 못했으며 야훼께 벌을 받아 죽고 말았다.
  1. When the sons of Israel fled before Judah, God gave them into their hand.
  2. Abijah and his people defeated them with a great slaughter, so that 500,000 chosen men of Israel fell slain.
  3. Thus the sons of Israel were subdued at that time, and the sons of Judah conquered because they trusted in the LORD, the God of their fathers.
  4. Abijah pursued Jeroboam and captured from him several cities, Bethel with its villages, Jeshanah with its villages and Ephron with its villages.
  5. Jeroboam did not again recover strength in the days of Abijah; and the LORD struck him and he died.
  1. 그러나 아비야는 세력을 뻗쳐 아내 열넷을 거느렸으며 아들 스물둘과 딸 열여섯을 두었다.
  2. 아비야의 나머지 행적과 치적 그리고 역사는 예언자 이또의 주해서에 기록되어 있다.
  1. But Abijah became powerful; and took fourteen wives to himself, and became the father of twenty-two sons and sixteen daughters.
  2. Now the rest of the acts of Abijah, and his ways and his words are written in the treatise of the prophet Iddo.
 
  아사의 유다 통치(14:1-14:15)    
 
  1. 아사는 그의 하느님 야훼께서 보시기에 좋은 일, 바른 일을 하였다.
  2. 다른 나라 제단을 본뜬 제단들과 산당들을 제거하고 석상을 깨뜨리고 아세라 목상을 부수었다.
  3. 그는 선조들의 하느님 야훼를 찾고 법과 계명을 실천하라고 유다 백성들에게 명령을 내렸으며,
  4. 유다 모든 성읍들에서 산당과 분향단을 제거하였다. 그의 통치 아래 나라는 평온하였다.
  5. 나라가 평온하였기 때문에 그는 유다 성읍들을 요새로 만들 수 있었다. 야훼께서 평화를 주셔서 여러 해 동안 전쟁이 없었다.
  1. So Abijah slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David, and his son Asa became king in his place. The land was undisturbed for ten years during his days.
  2. Asa did good and right in the sight of the LORD his God,
  3. for he removed the foreign altars and high places, tore down the sacred pillars, cut down the Asherim,
  4. and commanded Judah to seek the LORD God of their fathers and to observe the law and the commandment.
  5. He also removed the high places and the incense altars from all the cities of Judah. And the kingdom was undisturbed under him.
  1. 그는 유다 백성에게 명령을 내렸다. "우리가 우리 하느님 야훼를 찾았더니 하느님께서는 우리에게 평화를 주셨다. 우리가 당신을 찾았으므로 이 땅을 우리 마음대로 할 수 있게 해주셨다. 이런 때를 놓치지 말고 성읍들을 다시 세우자. 성벽을 둘러쌓고 성문을 만들어 달고 빗장을 만들어 꽂자." 그들은 성 쌓는 일을 잘 마치게 되었다.
  2. 또 아사에게는 방패와 창을 들 수 있는 유다 부대 삼십만이 있었고 방패를 잡고 활을 쏠 수 있는 베냐민 부대 이십팔만이 있었다. 이들은 모두 날쌘 군인이었다.
  3. 때마침 구스 사람 제라가 병거 삼천 대에 백만 대군을 이끌고 쳐들어와, 마레사에 이르렀다.
  4. 아사는 그를 맞아 싸우려고 출동하여 마레사 북쪽 골짜기에 진을 치고
  5. 그의 하느님 야훼께 부르짖었다. "야훼여, 주님처럼 강자를 물리치시고 약자의 편을 들어주시는 신이 어디 또 있습니까? 야훼 우리 하느님이여, 우리를 도와주십시오. 우리는 주님만 믿습니다. 주님의 이름만 믿고 저 많은 무리와 싸우러 왔습니다. 우리 하느님은 야훼밖에 없습니다. 누가 감히 주의 앞길을 가로막겠습니까?"
  1. He built fortified cities in Judah, since the land was undisturbed, and there was no one at war with him during those years, because the LORD had given him rest.
  2. For he said to Judah, "Let us build these cities and surround them with walls and towers, gates and bars. The land is still ours because we have sought the LORD our God; we have sought Him, and He has given us rest on every side." So they built and prospered.
  3. Now Asa had an army of 300,000 from Judah, bearing large shields and spears, and 280,000 from Benjamin, bearing shields and wielding bows; all of them were valiant warriors.
  4. Now Zerah the Ethiopian came out against them with an army of a million men and 300 chariots, and he came to Mareshah.
  5. So Asa went out to meet him, and they drew up in battle formation in the valley of Zephathah at Mareshah.
  1. 야훼께서 구스 군을 아사와 유다 군 앞에서 치셨다. 구스 군이 도망치게 되자,
  2. 아사와 그의 군대는 그랄에 이르기까지 추격하며 무찔렀다. 구스 군은 하나도 살아 남지 못하였다. 구스 군은 야훼 앞에서, 야훼의 군대 앞에서 패하고 말았다. 유다 군은 굉장히 많은 전리품을 얻었다.
  3. 그러자 사람들은 야훼를 몹시 두려워하게 되었다. 유다 군은 그랄 주변 모든 성읍들을 치고 그 성읍들을 털었다. 거기에서도 많은 전리품을 얻었다.
  4. 또 목자들의 천막들을 덮쳐 낙타와 많은 양을 빼앗아 가지고 예루살렘으로 돌아왔다.
  1. Then Asa called to the LORD his God and said, "LORD, there is no one besides You to help in the battle between the powerful and those who have no strength; so help us, O LORD our God, for we trust in You, and in Your name have come against this multitude. O LORD, You are our God; let not man prevail against You."
  2. So the LORD routed the Ethiopians before Asa and before Judah, and the Ethiopians fled.
  3. Asa and the people who were with him pursued them as far as Gerar; and so many Ethiopians fell that they could not recover, for they were shattered before the LORD and before His army. And they carried away very much plunder.
  4. They destroyed all the cities around Gerar, for the dread of the LORD had fallen on them; and they despoiled all the cities, for there was much plunder in them.
  5. They also struck down those who owned livestock, and they carried away large numbers of sheep and camels. Then they returned to Jerusalem.
 
  아사랴의 훈계와 아사의 개혁(15:1-15:19)    
 
  1. 그 때 오뎃의 아들로서 아자리야라는 사람이 있었다. 그가 하느님의 영을 받아
  2. 나가서 아사를 만나 말하였다. "임금님이여, 들으시오. 온 유다 군대와 베냐민 군대도 들으시오. 여러분이 야훼를 떠나지 않아야 야훼께서도 여러분 곁을 떠나지 않으실 것이오. 그를 찾으시오. 그리하면 만나주실 것이오. 그러나 그를 저버리면, 그도 여러분을 저버리실 것이오.
  3. 오랫동안 이스라엘은 참 하느님 없이 지내왔소. 법도 없었고 법을 가르쳐주는 사제도 없었소.
  4. 다만 어려운 일이 생겨야 이스라엘의 하느님 야훼께 돌아오곤 하였소. 그렇게라도 당신을 찾으면, 그는 만나주셨소.
  5. 그 때에는 세상이 하도 어지러워서 그 나라 백성 어느 한 사람도 마음 편할 날이 없었소.
  1. Now the Spirit of God came on Azariah the son of Oded,
  2. and he went out to meet Asa and said to him, "Listen to me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin: the LORD is with you when you are with Him And if you seek Him, He will let you find Him; but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you.
  3. "For many days Israel was without the true God and without a teaching priest and without law.
  4. "But in their distress they turned to the LORD God of Israel, and they sought Him, and He let them find Him.
  5. "In those times there was no peace to him who went out or to him who came in, for many disturbances afflicted all the inhabitants of the lands.
  1. 이 민족 저 민족, 이 성읍 저 성읍이 서로 치고 받는 형편이었소. 하느님께서 온갖 고난으로 괴롭히셨던 것이오.
  2. 그러나 여러분이 하는 일에는 상급이 내릴 것이니, 기를 꺾지 말고 용기를 내시오."
  3. 아사는 오뎃의 아들 예언자 아자리야가 전해 주는 이 말을 듣고 용감하게 유다와 베냐민 온 지방과 에브라임 산악 지대에서 빼앗은 성읍들에 있던 우상들을 모조리 없애버리고 야훼의 성전 현관 앞에 서 있는 제단을 보수하였다.
  4. 그리고 온 유다와 베냐민과 에브라임과 더부살이하는 므나쎄와 시므온 사람들을 불러모았다. 아사의 하느님 야훼께서 그와 함께 계시는 것을 보고 많은 사람이 이스라엘에서 떨어져 나와 그의 편에 붙었던 것이다.
  5. 그들이 모두 예루살렘으로 모여온 것은 아사 왕 제십오년 삼월이었다.
  1. "Nation was crushed by nation, and city by city, for God troubled them with every kind of distress.
  2. "But you, be strong and do not lose courage, for there is reward for your work."
  3. Now when Asa heard these words and the prophecy which Azariah the son of Oded the prophet spoke, he took courage and removed the abominable idols from all the land of Judah and Benjamin and from the cities which he had captured in the hill country of Ephraim He then restored the altar of the LORD which was in front of the porch of the LORD.
  4. He gathered all Judah and Benjamin and those from Ephraim, Manasseh and Simeon who resided with them, for many defected to him from Israel when they saw that the LORD his God was with him.
  5. So they assembled at Jerusalem in the third month of the fifteenth year of Asa's reign.
  1. 그들은 그 날 전리품 가운데서 소 칠백 마리, 양 칠천 마리를 야훼께 잡아 바치며
  2. 마음을 다 기울이고 정성을 다 쏟아 선조들의 하느님 야훼만 찾겠다는 계약을 맺었다.
  3. 또 이스라엘의 하느님 야훼를 찾지 않는 자는 누구든지, 낮은 사람 높은 사람, 남자 여자 할 것 없이 다 죽이기로 하였다.
  4. 그리고 쇠나팔, 뿔나팔 소리 울려퍼지는 가운데 모두 큰소리로 외치며 야훼께 맹세하였다.
  5. 온 유다 백성은 마음을 다 기울였기 때문에 그 일이 기뻤다. 그들은 열렬한 마음으로 하느님을 찾았다. 그래서 야훼께서는 그들을 만나주셨고 사방에 평화를 주셨다.
  1. They sacrificed to the LORD that day 700 oxen and 7,000 sheep from the spoil they had brought.
  2. They entered into the covenant to seek the LORD God of their fathers with all their heart and soul;
  3. and whoever would not seek the LORD God of Israel should be put to death, whether small or great, man or woman.
  4. Moreover, they made an oath to the LORD with a loud voice, with shouting, with trumpets and with horns.
  5. All Judah rejoiced concerning the oath, for they had sworn with their whole heart and had sought Him earnestly, and He let them find Him. So the LORD gave them rest on every side.
  1. 아사 왕은 어머니 마아가를 태후의 자리에서 폐하기까지 하였다. 마아가는 아세라 여신에게 바치려고 망측한 것을 만들었던 것이다. 아사는 키드론 냇가에서 그 망측한 것을 토막내어 불살라 버렸다.
  2. 그는 이스라엘에서 산당들을 없애버리지 않았지만, 마음만은 평생 한결같았다.
  3. 그는 선왕과 자기가 거룩하게 바친 금은 기물을 하느님의 성전으로 옮겨왔다.
  4. 이후 아사 왕 제삼십오년까지 전쟁이 없었다.
  1. He also removed Maacah, the mother of King Asa, from the position of queen mother, because she had made a horrid image as an Asherah, and Asa cut down her horrid image, crushed it and burned it at the brook Kidron.
  2. But the high places were not removed from Israel; nevertheless Asa's heart was blameless all his days.
  3. He brought into the house of God the dedicated things of his father and his own dedicated things: silver and gold and utensils.
  4. And there was no more war until the thirty-fifth year of Asa's reign.
