느헤미야 7:1-8:12

 느헤미야는 하나니와 하나냐에게 예루살렘 성을 다스리고 지키게 하였다. 그리고 귀환자들의 보계를 얻었다. 이스라엘 백성들이 에스라에게 율법 책 낭독을 요청하였고, 율법을 깨닫게 된 백성들은 하나님께 경배하면서 울며 회개하였다. 느헤미야는 백성들을 위로하면서 하나님의 성일을 기쁨으로 지키게 하였다.
  
  귀환자 명단(7:1-7:73)    
 
  1. 성 수축이 끝나자 나는 성문을 만들어 달고는 수위들을 배치시켰다.
  2. 그리고는 동생 하나니와 성채 수령 하나니야에게 예루살렘 수비를 맡겼다. 하나니야는 진실한 사람으로서 누구보다도 하느님 두려운 줄을 아는 사람이었다.
  3. 나는 그들에게 일렀다. "해가 뜨거워지기 전에는 문을 열지 말고 해가 아직 높이 있을 때 문을 닫아걸도록 하여라. 예루살렘 성민으로 보초를 세워라. 사람마다 초소를 정해 주어 보초를 서게 할 뿐만 아니라, 집마다 제 집 앞에 보초를 서게 하여라."
  4. 원체 성이 크고 넓은데다 인구는 얼마 되지 않아 새 집을 세울 수가 없었다.
  5. 나의 하느님께서 유지들과 관리들과 일반 백성을 모아 등록시키도록 나의 마음을 움직이셨다. 나는 첫 귀환민들의 등록부를 찾았는데, 거기에는 아래와 같이 기록되어 있었다.
  1. Now when the wall was rebuilt and I had set up the doors, and the gatekeepers and the singers and the Levites were appointed,
  2. then I put Hanani my brother, and Hananiah the commander of the fortress, in charge of Jerusalem, for he was a faithful man and feared God more than many.
  3. Then I said to them, "Do not let the gates of Jerusalem be opened until the sun is hot, and while they are standing guard, let them shut and bolt the doors. Also appoint guards from the inhabitants of Jerusalem, each at his post, and each in front of his own house."
  4. Now the city was large and spacious, but the people in it were few and the houses were not built.
  5. Then my God put it into my heart to assemble the nobles, the officials and the people to be enrolled by genealogies. Then I found the book of the genealogy of those who came up first in which I found the following record:
  1. 바빌론 황제 느부갓네살에게 사로잡혀 바빌론으로 갔다가 예루살렘과 유다 지방 성읍들에 돌아온 지방민은 다음과 같다.
  2. 이들은 즈루빠벨, 예수아, 느헤미야, 아자리야, 라아미야, 나하마니, 모르드개, 빌산, 미스베렛, 비그왜, 느훔, 바아나와 함께 돌아온 사람들이다.
  3. 백성들의 수는 바로스의 일가 이천백칠십이 명,
  4. 스바티야의 일가 삼백칠십이 명,
  5. 아라의 일가 육백오십이 명,
  1. These are the people of the province who came up from the captivity of the exiles whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried away, and who returned to Jerusalem and Judah, each to his city,
  2. who came with Zerubbabel, Jeshua, Nehemiah, Azariah, Raamiah, Nahamani, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispereth, Bigvai, Nehum, Baanah. The number of men of the people of Israel:
  3. the sons of Parosh, 2,172;
  4. the sons of Shephatiah, 372;
  5. the sons of Arah, 652;
  1. 바핫모압의 일가 곧 예수아와 요압의 일가 이천팔백십팔 명,
  2. 엘람의 일가 천이백오십사 명,
  3. 자뚜의 일가 팔백사십오 명,
  4. 자깨의 일가 칠백육십 명,

  3. 레위인은 예수아의 일가 곧 카드미엘과 빈누이와 호다야의 일가 칠십사 명이었다.

  5. 수위는 살룸의 일가, 아텔의 일가, 탈몬의 일가, 아쿱의 일가, 하티타의 일가, 소배의 일가 모두 합해서 백삼십팔 명이었다.
  1. the sons of Pashhur, 1,247;
  2. the sons of Harim, 1,017.
  3. The Levites: the sons of Jeshua, of Kadmiel, of the sons of Hodevah, 74.
  4. The singers: the sons of Asaph, 148.

  1. 성전 막일꾼은 시하의 일가, 하수바의 일가, 타바옷의 일가,

  4. 하난의 일가, 기뗄의 일가, 가할의 일가,

  1. The temple servants: the sons of Ziha, the sons of Hasupha, the sons of Tabbaoth,
  2. the sons of Keros, the sons of Sia, the sons of Padon,
  3. the sons of Lebana, the sons of Hagaba, the sons of Shalmai,
  4. the sons of Hanan, the sons of Giddel, the sons of Gahar,
  5. the sons of Reaiah, the sons of Rezin, the sons of Nekoda,
  1. 가짬의 일가, 우짜의 일가, 바세아의 일가,
  2. 베새의 일가, 므우님의 일가, 느비스심의 일가,
  3. 박북의 일가, 하쿠바의 일가, 하르후르의 일가,
  4. 바슬릿의 일가, 므히다의 일가, 하르사의 일가,
  5. 바르코스의 일가, 시스라의 일가, 데마의 일가,
  1. the sons of Gazzam, the sons of Uzza, the sons of Paseah,
  2. the sons of Besai, the sons of Meunim, the sons of Nephushesim,
  3. the sons of Bakbuk, the sons of Hakupha, the sons of Harhur,
  4. the sons of Bazlith, the sons of Mehida, the sons of Harsha,
  5. the sons of Barkos, the sons of Sisera, the sons of Temah,
  1. 느시아의 일가, 하티바의 일가 등이었고,
  2. 솔로몬의 종들의 후손은 소태의 일가, 소베렛의 일가, 브리다의 일가,
  3. 야알라의 일가, 다르콘의 일가, 기뗄의 일가,
  4. 스바티야의 일가, 하틸의 일가, 보게렛하쓰바임의 일가, 아몬의 일가 등이었다.
  5. 성전 막일꾼과 솔로몬의 종의 후손은 모두 삼백구십이 명이었다.
  1. the sons of Neziah, the sons of Hatipha.
  2. The sons of Solomon's servants: the sons of Sotai, the sons of Sophereth, the sons of Perida,
  3. the sons of Jaala, the sons of Darkon, the sons of Giddel,
  4. the sons of Shephatiah, the sons of Hattil, the sons of Pochereth-hazzebaim, the sons of Amon.
  5. All the temple servants and the sons of Solomon's servants were 392.
  1. 델멜라와 델하르사와 그룹과 아똔과 임멜에서 돌아온 사람들로서 가문이 밝혀지지 않아서 이스라엘 후손인지 아닌지 알 길이 없는 사람들이 있었는데,
  2. 그들은 들라야의 일가, 토비야의 일가, 느코다의 일가를 합한 육백사십이 명이었다.
  3. 사제 가문에도 그런 사람들이 있었다. 호바야의 일가, 하코스의 일가, 바르질래의 일가가 그러했는데, 바르질래는 길르앗 사람 바르질래의 집에 장가들어 처가의 성을 받은 사람이었다.
  4. 등록부를 아무리 뒤져도 이름이 나타나지 않아
  5. 이 사람들을 부정한 사람으로 여겨 사제직에서 제외할 수밖에 없었다. 대사제가 임명되어 우림과 둠밈으로 이 일을 결정짓기까지는 거룩한 음식을 들지 못한다는 총독의 지시가 그들에게 내렸다.
  1. These were they who came up from Tel-melah, Tel-harsha, Cherub, Addon and Immer; but they could not show their fathers' houses or their descendants, whether they were of Israel:
  2. the sons of Delaiah, the sons of Tobiah, the sons of Nekoda, 642.
  3. Of the priests: the sons of Hobaiah, the sons of Hakkoz, the sons of Barzillai, who took a wife of the daughters of Barzillai, the Gileadite, and was named after them.
  4. These searched among their ancestral registration, but it could not be located; therefore they were considered unclean and excluded from the priesthood.
  5. The governor said to them that they should not eat from the most holy things until a priest arose with Urim and Thummim.
  1. 온 회중을 합해 보니 남녀 종 칠천삼백삼십칠 명을 제외하고도 그 수효가 사만 이천삼백육십 명이 되었다. 남녀 가수도 이백사십오 명이 있었다.
  3. 또 말이 칠백삼십육 마리, 노새가 이백사십오 마리, 낙타가 사백삼십오 마리, 나귀가 육천칠백이십 마리였다.
  4. 각 가문 어른들 가운데서 공사에 쓸 돈을 바치는 사람들이 있었다. 각하도 금화 천 드라크마와 은 오백 미나, 쟁반 오십 개, 제복 삼십 벌을 바쳤다.
  5. 각 가문 어른들이 공사장 금고에 바친 것은 금화가 이만 드라크마, 은이 이천이백 미나나 되었고,
  1. The whole assembly together was 42,360,
  2. besides their male and their female servants, of whom there were 7,337; and they had 245 male and female singers.
  3. Their horses were 736; their mules, 245;
  4. their camels, 435; their donkeys, 6,720.
  5. Some from among the heads of fathers' households gave to the work. The governor gave to the treasury 1,000 gold drachmas, 50 basins, 530 priests' garments.
  1. 일반 백성이 바친 것도 금화가 이만 드라크마, 은이 이천 미나, 제복이 육십칠 벌이나 되었다.
  2. 사제들과 레위인들과 일부 일반 백성들은 예루살렘에 자리를 잡았고 합창대원들과 수위들과 성전 막일꾼들은 예루살렘에 딸린 촌락들에, 그리고 일반 백성들은 저희의 성읍에 각각 자리를 잡았다.
  1. Some of the heads of fathers' households gave into the treasury of the work 20,000 gold drachmas and 2,200 silver minas.
  2. That which the rest of the people gave was 20,000 gold drachmas and 2,000 silver minas and 67 priests' garments.
  3. Now the priests, the Levites, the gatekeepers, the singers, some of the people, the temple servants and all Israel, lived in their cities And when the seventh month came, the sons of Israel were in their cities.
 
  율법 낭독(8:1-8:12)    
 
  1. 이스라엘 백성은 각기 저희의 성읍에서 살고 있다가 칠월이 되자, 일제히 수문 앞 광장에 모여와서 선비 에즈라에게 청하였다. "야훼께서 이스라엘에게 내려주신 모세의 법전을 가지고 오십시오."
  2. 사제 에즈라는 그 법전을 가지고 회중 앞에 나타났다. 그 자리에는 남자와 여자, 아이들에 이르기까지 말귀를 알아들을 만한 사람은 모두 모여 있었다. 때는 칠월 초하루였다.
  3. 그는 수문 앞 광장에 나타나 해 뜰녘부터 해가 중천에 이르기까지 남녀를 가리지 않고 셈든 사람들에게 그것을 들려주었고 온 백성은 그 법전을 귀담아들었다.
  4. 선비 에즈라는 특별히 만든 나무 단 위에 올라가 섰고, 그 오른쪽에는 마띠디야, 세마, 아나야, 우리야, 힐키야, 마아세야가, 왼쪽에는 브다야, 미사엘, 말기야, 하숨, 하스바따나, 즈가리야, 므술람이 섰다.
  5. 에즈라가 모두 쳐다볼 수 있도록 높은 자리에서 책을 펴들자 온 백성은 일어섰다.
  1. And all the people gathered as one man at the square which was in front of the Water Gate, and they asked Ezra the scribe to bring the book of the law of Moses which the LORD had given to Israel.
  2. Then Ezra the priest brought the law before the assembly of men, women and all who could listen with understanding, on the first day of the seventh month.
  3. He read from it before the square which was in front of the Water Gate from early morning until midday, in the presence of men and women, those who could understand; and all the people were attentive to the book of the law.
  4. Ezra the scribe stood at a wooden podium which they had made for the purpose. And beside him stood Mattithiah, Shema, Anaiah, Uriah, Hilkiah, and Maaseiah on his right hand; and Pedaiah, Mishael, Malchijah, Hashum, Hashbaddanah, Zechariah and Meshullam on his left hand.
  5. Ezra opened the book in the sight of all the people for he was standing above all the people; and when he opened it, all the people stood up.
  1. 에즈라가 높으신 하느님 야훼를 칭송하자 온 백성도 손을 쳐들고 "아멘." "아멘." 하고 응답하며 무릎을 꿇고 땅에 엎드려 야훼를 예배하였다.
  2. 그리고 백성은 일어서서 레위인들인 예수아, 바니, 세레비야, 야민, 아쿱, 삽대, 호디야, 마아세야, 클리타, 아자리야, 요자밧, 하난, 블라야에게서 법을 배웠다.
  3. 에즈라는 백성들이 알아듣고 깨칠 수 있도록 하느님의 법전을 읽으며 풀이하여 주었다.
  4. 온 백성은 법전에 기록되어 있는 말 한 마디 한 마디를 들으면서 울었다. 그래서 총독 느헤미야와 선비요 사제인 에즈라와 백성을 가르치던 레위인들이 온 백성에게 일렀다. "이 날은 너희 하느님 야훼께 바친 거룩한 날이니 울며 애통하지 마라."
  5. 그리고 그는 이렇게 일러주었다. "가서 잔치를 차려 배불리 먹고 마셔라. 미처 마련하지 못한 사람이 있거든 그런 사람도 빼놓지 말고 몫몫이 보내주도록 하여라. 이 날은 우리 주님의 날로 거룩하게 지킬 날이니 슬퍼하지 마라. 야훼 앞에서 기뻐하면, 너희를 지켜주시리라."
  1. Then Ezra blessed the LORD the great God. And all the people answered, "Amen, Amen!" while lifting up their hands; then they bowed low and worshiped the LORD with their faces to the ground.
  2. Also Jeshua, Bani, Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodiah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, Pelaiah, the Levites, explained the law to the people while the people remained in their place.
  3. They read from the book, from the law of God, translating to give the sense so that they understood the reading.
  4. Then Nehemiah, who was the governor, and Ezra the priest and scribe, and the Levites who taught the people said to all the people, "This day is holy to the LORD your God; do not mourn or weep." For all the people were weeping when they heard the words of the law.
  5. Then he said to them, "Go, eat of the fat, drink of the sweet, and send portions to him who has nothing prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not be grieved, for the joy of the LORD is your strength."
  1. 레위인들도 온 백성을 진정시키며 이렇게 일러주었다. "조용히 있어라. 이 날은 거룩한 날이니 슬퍼하지 마라."
  2. 온 백성은 그 가르침을 깨닫고 마냥 기뻐하며 돌아가서 크게 잔치를 벌이고, 없는 사람에게는 몫몫이 나누어주면서 먹고 마시며 좋아하였다.
  1. So the Levites calmed all the people, saying, "Be still, for the day is holy; do not be grieved."
  2. All the people went away to eat, to drink, to send portions and to celebrate a great festival, because they understood the words which had been made known to them.
