욥기 10:1-12:25

 욥의 계속되는 한탄 가운데 나아마 사람 소발이 욥의 변명에 대해 공격하였다. 그는 하나님의 전능성을 내세워 하나님 앞에서 깨끗하다는 욥의 고백을 비난하면서 욥이 회개하면 용서를 받지만, 그렇지 않으면 무서운 결과가 올 것이라고 충고하였다. 이에 대하여 욥은 자신이 친구들의 조롱거리가 되었고 자신도 지혜와 명철이 하나님께 속한 것임을 알고 있다고 말하면서 그의 억울함을 호소하였다.
  
  욥의 기도(10:1-10:22)    
 
  1. 숨쉬는 일이 이다지도 괴로워서 나의 슬픔을 하느님께 아뢰고 아픈 마음을 쏟아놓지 않을 수 없구나.
  2. 나 이제 하느님께 아룁니다. 나를 죄인으로 다루지 마소서. 어찌하여 이런 시련을 내리십니까? 그 까닭이라도 알려주소서.
  3. 당신께서 손수 만드신 것을 억압하고 멸시하시는 것이 기쁘십니까? 악인의 꾀가 마음에 드십니까?
  4. 당신의 눈은 사람의 눈과 같으시며 사람이 보는 만큼밖에는 보지 못하십니까?
  5. 당신의 수명은 사람의 수명과 같으시며 인간이 사는 만큼밖에는 살지 못하십니까?
  1. "I loathe my own life; I will give full vent to my complaint; I will speak in the bitterness of my soul.
  2. "I will say to God, 'Do not condemn me; Let me know why You contend with me.
  3. 'Is it right for You indeed to oppress, To reject the labor of Your hands, And to look favorably on the schemes of the wicked?
  4. 'Have You eyes of flesh? Or do You see as a man sees?
  5. 'Are Your days as the days of a mortal, Or Your years as man's years,
  1. 당신께서 하시는 일이란 이 몸의 허물이나 들추어내고 이 몸의 죄나 찾아내는 것입니까?
  2. 당신께서는 내가 죄인이 아님을 아시고 또 아무도 이 몸을 당신의 손에서 빼낼 수 없음도 아십니다.
  3. 당신께서는 나를 손수 빚어 만드시고는 이제 마음을 바꾸시어 나를 없애버리시렵니까?
  4. 이 몸을 진흙으로 빚으셨음을 잊지 마소서. 어찌 다시 흙으로 돌려보내시려 하십니까?
  5. 당신께서는 이 몸을 젖같이 쏟으시어 묵처럼 엉기게 하셨고,
  1. That You should seek for my guilt And search after my sin?
  2. 'According to Your knowledge I am indeed not guilty, Yet there is no deliverance from Your hand.
  3. 'Your hands fashioned and made me altogether, And would You destroy me?
  4. 'Remember now, that You have made me as clay; And would You turn me into dust again?
  5. 'Did You not pour me out like milk And curdle me like cheese;
  1. 가죽과 살을 입히시고 뼈와 힘줄로 얽어주셨습니다.
  2. 나에게 목숨을 주시고 숨쉬는 것까지 보살펴 주셨습니다.
  3. 그러시면서도 속생각은 다른 데 있으셨군요. 그러실 줄 알고 있었습니다.
  4. 내가 죄를 짓는가 지켜보시다가 그 죄에서 풀어놓아 주시지도 아니하십니다.
  5. 악을 행하였다면 앙화를 받아 마땅합니다. 그러나 잘못한 일이 없다고 하여도 머리를 쳐들 수 없는 일, 아, 진저리쳐지도록 당한 이 수모가 지긋지긋하도록 괴롭습니다.
  1. Clothe me with skin and flesh, And knit me together with bones and sinews?
  2. 'You have granted me life and lovingkindness; And Your care has preserved my spirit.
  3. 'Yet these things You have concealed in Your heart; I know that this is within You:
  4. If I sin, then You would take note of me, And would not acquit me of my guilt.
  5. 'If I am wicked, woe to me! And if I am righteous, I dare not lift up my head. I am sated with disgrace and conscious of my misery.
  1. 내가 몸을 일으키면, 당신께서는 어찌하여 사자처럼 나에게 달려드십니까? 어찌하여 계속 몰아치십니까?
  2. 공격에 공격을 퍼붓고 진노의 불길을 뿜으시며 계속 군대를 풀어 몰아치시니 어찌 된 일이십니까?
  3. 어찌하여 나를 모태에서 나오게 하셨습니까? 차라리 그 누구의 눈에도 뜨이지 않고 숨져
  4. 태어나지도 않았던 듯이 모태에서 무덤으로 바로 갔다면 좋았을 것을.
  5. 나의 수명은 이제 다 되었습니다. 좀 내버려두소서. 잠깐만이라도 밝은 날을 보게 하여주소서.
  1. 'Should my head be lifted up, You would hunt me like a lion; And again You would show Your power against me.
  2. 'You renew Your witnesses against me And increase Your anger toward me; Hardship after hardship is with me.
  3. 'Why then have You brought me out of the womb? Would that I had died and no eye had seen me!
  4. 'I should have been as though I had not been, Carried from womb to tomb.'
  5. "Would He not let my few days alone? Withdraw from me that I may have a little cheer
  1. 잠시 후에 나는 갑니다. 영영 돌아올 길 없는 곳, 캄캄한 어둠만이 덮인 곳으로 갑니다.
  2. 그믐밤 같은 어둠이 깔리고 깜깜한 가운데 온통 뒤죽박죽이 된 곳, 칠흑 같은 흑암만이 빛의 구실을 하는 곳으로 갑니다.
  1. Before I go--and I shall not return-- To the land of darkness and deep shadow,
  2. The land of utter gloom as darkness itself, Of deep shadow without order, And which shines as the darkness."
 
  소발의 첫번째 충고(11:1-11:20)    
 
  1. 나아마 사람 소바르가 말을 받았다.
  2. 말이 너무 많네, 듣고만 있을 수 없군. 입술을 많이 놀린다고 하여 죄에서 풀릴 줄 아는가?
  3. 자네의 지껄이는 소리를 듣고 누가 입을 열지 않으며 그 빈정거리는 소리를 듣고 누가 핀잔을 주지 않겠는가?
  4. 자네는 말하기를, "나의 믿음은 순수하여, 주님 보시기에도 흠이 없다." 한다마는
  5. 행여나 하느님께서 자네를 깨우치시려고 입을 열어 답변해 주신다면 오죽이나 좋겠는가!
  1. Then Zophar the Naamathite answered,
  2. "Shall a multitude of words go unanswered, And a talkative man be acquitted?
  3. "Shall your boasts silence men? And shall you scoff and none rebuke?
  4. "For you have said, 'My teaching is pure, And I am innocent in your eyes.'
  5. "But would that God might speak, And open His lips against you,
  1. 행여나 신비한 지혜를 열어 보여주신다면 얼마나 좋겠는가! 그의 지혜에는 다른 면들이 감추어져 있다네. 자네가 죄를 잊어버린 것도 바로 하느님께서 하신 일이지.
  2. 자네가 하느님의 신비를 파헤칠 수라도 있단 말인가? 전능하신 분의 무한하심을 더듬을 수라도 있단 말인가?
  3. 하늘보다도 높은 그것에 어떻게 미치며 저승보다도 깊은 그것을 어찌 알 수 있겠는가?
  4. 그 신비는 땅 끝처럼 아득하고 그 무한하심은 바다처럼 넓다네!
  5. 그가 쫓아와서 고랑을 채워 불러내시는데 그 누가 거역하겠는가?
  1. And show you the secrets of wisdom! For sound wisdom has two sides Know then that God forgets a part of your iniquity.
  2. "Can you discover the depths of God? Can you discover the limits of the Almighty?
  3. "They are high as the heavens, what can you do? Deeper than Sheol, what can you know?
  4. "Its measure is longer than the earth And broader than the sea.
  5. "If He passes by or shuts up, Or calls an assembly, who can restrain Him?
  1. 누구누구가 허황된 사람인지 다 알고 계시는 이, 그가 알아보지 못할 악이 어디에 있겠는가!
  2. 거짓된 사람도 제 정신이 들 때가 오는 법, 들나귀도 길이 들지 않는가!
  3. 이제 마음의 고삐를 잡고 그에게 손을 내밀게.
  4. 악에서 손을 떼고 불의를 장막에서 몰아내게.
  5. 그리하면 자네도 아무 거리낌없이 얼굴을 들고 아무 두려움 없이 떳떳하게 서게 될 것일세.
  1. "For He knows false men, And He sees iniquity without investigating.
  2. "An idiot will become intelligent When the foal of a wild donkey is born a man.
  3. "If you would direct your heart right And spread out your hand to Him,
  4. If iniquity is in your hand, put it far away, And do not let wickedness dwell in your tents;
  5. "Then, indeed, you could lift up your face without moral defect, And you would be steadfast and not fear.
  1. 괴롭던 일은 다 잊혀져 흘러간 물처럼 기억에서 사라지겠지.
  2. 숨쉬는 나날은 대낮보다도 환해지고 어둠은 새 아침처럼 밝아질 것일세.
  3. 자신을 잃지 말게, 아직 희망이 있다네. 걱정 없이 마음놓고 자리에 들게.
  4. 자네의 단잠을 깨울 자가 없을 것이며 많은 사람이 자네 앞에서 굽실거릴 것일세.
  5. 악인은 그 눈이 흐려지고 도망칠 길마저 끊기리니, 남은 희망은 숨을 거두는 일뿐이리라.
  1. "For you would forget your trouble, As waters that have passed by, you would remember it.
  2. "Your life would be brighter than noonday; Darkness would be like the morning.
  3. "Then you would trust, because there is hope; And you would look around and rest securely.
  4. "You would lie down and none would disturb you, And many would entreat your favor.
  5. "But the eyes of the wicked will fail, And there will be no escape for them; And their hope is to breathe their last."
 
  욥의 답변(12:1-12:25)    
 
  1. 욥이 말을 받았다.
  2. 참으로 자네들만이 유식하여 자네들이 죽으면 지혜도 함께 죽겠군.
  3. 나에게도 그만한 생각은 있다네. 자네들만큼 모르려니 생각하지 말게. 누가 그 정도의 생각도 못하겠는가?
  4. 하느님을 불러 대답을 듣다가 그의 벗이라는 자에게 웃음거리가 되었고 죄없고 온전하다는 자에게 도리어 조롱거리가 되었군.
  5. 태평무사한 자의 눈에는 재난에 빠진 자가 천더기로 보이고 미끄러지는 자는 밀쳐도 괜찮은 자로 보이는 법이지.
  1. Then Job responded,
  2. "Truly then you are the people, And with you wisdom will die!
  3. "But I have intelligence as well as you; I am not inferior to you. And who does not know such things as these?
  4. "I am a joke to my friends, The one who called on God and He answered him; The just and blameless man is a joke.
  5. "He who is at ease holds calamity in contempt, As prepared for those whose feet slip.
  1. 강도의 장막에 도리어 평안이 깃들이고 하느님을 손아귀에 넣고 주무르는 자가 오히려 태평하다네.
  2. 짐승들에게 물어보게, 가르쳐주지 않나. 공중의 새들에게 물어보게, 알려주지 않나.
  3. 들풀에게 물어보게, 가르쳐주지 않나. 바다의 고기들도 알려줄 것일세.
  4. 이런 일을 한 것이 야훼의 손이 아니고 무엇이겠는가? 세상에 그 누가 이것을 모르랴?
  5. 어느 동물의 목숨이 그의 손을 벗어날 수 있으며 어느 사람의 숨결이 주의 손을 벗어날 수 있겠는가?
  1. "The tents of the destroyers prosper, And those who provoke God are secure, Whom God brings into their power.
  2. "But now ask the beasts, and let them teach you; And the birds of the heavens, and let them tell you.
  3. "Or speak to the earth, and let it teach you; And let the fish of the sea declare to you.
  4. "Who among all these does not know That the hand of the LORD has done this,
  5. In whose hand is the life of every living thing, And the breath of all mankind?
  1. 귀가 말을 알아듣지 못하며 입이 맛을 구별하지 못하겠는가?
  2. 나이와 함께 지혜가 자라고 연륜과 함께 깨달음이 깊어가도
  3. 지혜와 힘은 결국 그에게서 나오고 경륜과 판단력도 그에게 있는 것,
  4. 그가 허무시는데 누가 다시 세우며 그가 가두시는데 누가 풀어놓겠는가?
  5. 그가 수문을 닫으시면 말라버리고 그가 물을 쏟으시면 땅은 온통 결딴나는 것을.
  1. "Does not the ear test words, As the palate tastes its food?
  2. "Wisdom is with aged men, With long life is understanding.
  3. "With Him are wisdom and might; To Him belong counsel and understanding.
  4. "Behold, He tears down, and it cannot be rebuilt; He imprisons a man, and there can be no release.
  5. "Behold, He restrains the waters, and they dry up; And He sends them out, and they inundate the earth.
  1. 힘과 슬기가 그에게서 나오니 속는 자와 속이는 자가 다 그의 손 안에 있지 않은가?
  2. 그분은 고문관들을 맨발로 끌려가게 하시고 재판관들을 바보로 만드시는 이,
  3. 임금들의 띠를 푸시고 그 허리를 포승으로 묶으시는 이,
  4. 사제들도 맨발로 끌려가게 하시고 유지들을 넘어뜨리시는 이,
  5. 도도한 자들의 입을 막으시고 늙은이들에게서 판단력을 빼앗으시는 이,
  1. "With Him are strength and sound wisdom, The misled and the misleader belong to Him.
  2. "He makes counselors walk barefoot And makes fools of judges.
  3. "He loosens the bond of kings And binds their loins with a girdle.
  4. "He makes priests walk barefoot And overthrows the secure ones.
  5. "He deprives the trusted ones of speech And takes away the discernment of the elders.
  1. 귀족들도 부끄러워 얼굴을 들지 못하게 하시고 용사들의 허리끈을 풀어버리시는 이,
  2. 어둠의 깊은 비밀을 들추어내시고 흑암을 백일하에 드러나게 하시는 이,
  3. 민족들을 일으키셨다가는 때려눕히시고 뻗어나게 하셨다가는 없애버리시는 이,
  4. 백성을 지도하는 자들의 생각을 어둡게 하시어 길 없는 거친 들을 헤매게 하시는 이,
  5. 한 가닥 빛도 없이 어둠 속을 더듬거리며 술 취한 사람처럼 헤매게 하시는 이.
  1. "He pours contempt on nobles And loosens the belt of the strong.
  2. "He reveals mysteries from the darkness And brings the deep darkness into light.
  3. "He makes the nations great, then destroys them; He enlarges the nations, then leads them away.
  4. "He deprives of intelligence the chiefs of the earth's people And makes them wander in a pathless waste.
  5. "They grope in darkness with no light, And He makes them stagger like a drunken man.
