욥기 37:1-38:41

 엘리후는 욥에게 자연을 통해 나타난 하나님의 위엄과 능력을 생각하라고 하였다. 그런데 그때 하나님께서 직접 개입하셔서 폭풍 가운데 욥에게 나타나셨다. 그리고 하나님은 욥에게 질문하시고 그의 답변을 요구하셨다.
  
  욥에게 말씀하시는 하나님(37:1-38:41)    
 
  1. 그 생각만 하면 이 염통이 떨다 못해 퉁겨나기라도 할 것 같소.
  2. 오, 귀 기울여 들어보시오. 천지를 뒤흔드는 저 음성을, 그의 입에서 터져 나오는 저 우렁찬 소리를.
  3. 온 하늘 아래를 환하게 땅 구석구석까지 비추는 번개에 잇달아
  4. 터뜨리시는 저 우렁찬 소리. 그 소리 위엄차게 울려오지 않소? 번개를 번쩍 내리치시며 우르릉 외치시는 저 소리 들리지 않소?
  5. 하느님께서는 뇌성벽력으로 신비한 일을 알려주시지만 그 하시는 큰일을 우리는 감히 알 수가 없소.
  1. "At this also my heart trembles, And leaps from its place.
  2. "Listen closely to the thunder of His voice, And the rumbling that goes out from His mouth.
  3. "Under the whole heaven He lets it loose, And His lightning to the ends of the earth.
  4. "After it, a voice roars; He thunders with His majestic voice, And He does not restrain the lightnings when His voice is heard.
  5. "God thunders with His voice wondrously, Doing great things which we cannot comprehend.
  1. 하느님께서, "눈아, 땅에 내려라. 장마비야, 억수로 쏟아져라." 명령을 내리시고
  2. 사람 손을 모조리 묶으시고 당신께서 하시는 일을 알아보게 하실 때,
  3. 들짐승들은 숨을 곳을 찾아 저희들의 굴 속에 들어가 숨는다오.
  4. 남방 밀실에서 태풍이 밀려오고 북풍은 추위를 몰고 오는데
  5. 하느님의 입김에 서릿발이 서고 넓은 바다마저 얼어붙는다오.
  1. "For to the snow He says, 'Fall on the earth,' And to the downpour and the rain, 'Be strong.'
  2. "He seals the hand of every man, That all men may know His work.
  3. "Then the beast goes into its lair And remains in its den.
  4. "Out of the south comes the storm, And out of the north the cold.
  5. "From the breath of God ice is made, And the expanse of the waters is frozen.
  1. 검은 구름에서 우박이 쏟아질 때 그 구름에선 번갯불이 번쩍이며
  2. 그의 명령을 따라 빙글빙글 돌다가 사람 사는 땅 위 어디에서든지 그의 명령을 이루고야 만다오.
  3. 하느님께서는 당신 눈에 거슬리는 일이 보이면 번개를 채찍 삼아 휘두르기도 하시고 당신의 은총을 베푸시는 데 쓰기도 하신다오.
  4. 여보시오, 욥이여, 내 말을 귀담아 들어보시오. 잠깐 멈추고 생각해 보시오, 하느님께서 하시는 신비한 일을.
  5. 이 모든 것을 하느님께서 어떻게 거느리시는지 당신은 아시오? 어떻게 구름에서 번개가 번쩍이는지,
  1. "Also with moisture He loads the thick cloud; He disperses the cloud of His lightning.
  2. "It changes direction, turning around by His guidance, That it may do whatever He commands it On the face of the inhabited earth.
  3. "Whether for correction, or for His world, Or for lovingkindness, He causes it to happen.
  4. "Listen to this, O Job, Stand and consider the wonders of God.
  5. "Do you know how God establishes them, And makes the lightning of His cloud to shine?
  1. 구름이 어떻게 두둥실 떠 있는지 아시오? 모르시는 것 없는 이가 하시는 이 놀라운 일들을.
  2. 불어오는 남풍에 땅은 죽은 듯하고 당신의 윗옷이 따뜻해지는데
  3. 당신은 구리거울을 두드려 펴듯이 하느님을 도와 창공을 두드려 펴기라도 하겠단 말이오?
  4. 말해 보시오. 그렇게 앞이 캄캄한데 하느님께 무슨 말씀을 올려야겠단 말이오?
  5. "제 말을 들으십시오." 하고 말한다고 하여 하느님께서 정녕 당신의 말을 들으셔야 한단 말이오?
  1. "Do you know about the layers of the thick clouds, The wonders of one perfect in knowledge,
  2. You whose garments are hot, When the land is still because of the south wind?
  3. "Can you, with Him, spread out the skies, Strong as a molten mirror?
  4. "Teach us what we shall say to Him; We cannot arrange our case because of darkness.
  5. "Shall it be told Him that I would speak? Or should a man say that he would be swallowed up?
  1. 지금은 해가 구름에 가리워 보이지 않지만 바람이 불어 하늘이 개면,
  2. 하느님의 빛나는 영광이 북녘 하늘에서 밝게 비쳐올 것이오.
  3. 우리 인간이 어찌 이 전능하신 분께 이르겠소? 못할 일 없으시며 공평무사하신 그분이 어찌 억울한 일을 하시겠소?
  4. 인간이 어찌 그를 두려워하지 않을 수 있겠소? 스스로 지혜로운 체하는 자를 안중에도 두지 않으시는 그분을.
  1. "Now men do not see the light which is bright in the skies; But the wind has passed and cleared them.
  2. "Out of the north comes golden splendor; Around God is awesome majesty.
  3. "The Almighty--we cannot find Him; He is exalted in power And He will not do violence to justice and abundant righteousness.
  4. "Therefore men fear Him; He does not regard any who are wise of heart."
 
 
  1. 야훼께서 욥에게 폭풍 속에서 대답하셨다.
  2. 부질없는 말로 나의 뜻을 가리는 자가 누구냐?
  3. 대장부답게 허리를 묶고 나서라. 나 이제 물을 터이니 알거든 대답해 보아라.
  4. 내가 땅의 기초를 놓을 때 너는 어디에 있었느냐? 그렇게 세상물정을 잘 알거든 말해 보아라.
  5. 누가 이 땅을 설계했느냐? 그 누가 줄을 치고 금을 그었느냐?
  1. Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind and said,
  2. "Who is this that darkens counsel By words without knowledge?
  3. "Now gird up your loins like a man, And I will ask you, and you instruct Me!
  4. "Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding,
  5. Who set its measurements? Since you know. Or who stretched the line on it?
  1. 어디에 땅을 받치는 기둥이 박혀 있느냐? 그 누가 세상의 주춧돌을 놓았느냐?
  2. 그 때 새벽별들이 떨쳐 나와 노래를 부르고 모든 하늘의 천사들이 나와서 합창을 불렀는데,
  3. 바다가 모태에서 터져 나올 때 그 누가 문을 닫아 바다를 가두었느냐?
  4. 바다를 구름으로 싸고 먹구름으로 묶어둔 것은 바로 나였다.
  5. 바다가 넘지 못하도록 금 그어놓고 문에 빗장을 내려놓은 것은 바로 나였다.
  1. "On what were its bases sunk? Or who laid its cornerstone,
  2. When the morning stars sang together And all the sons of God shouted for joy?
  3. "Or who enclosed the sea with doors When, bursting forth, it went out from the womb;
  4. When I made a cloud its garment And thick darkness its swaddling band,
  5. And I placed boundaries on it And set a bolt and doors,
  1. 그리고 나는 명령을 내렸다. "여기까지는 와도 좋지만 그 이상은 넘어오지 마라. 너의 도도한 물결은 여기에서 멈춰야 한다."
  2. 네가 언제고 동이 틀 것을 명령해 본 일이 있느냐? 새벽의 여신에게 "이것이 네 자리다." 하고 일러준 일이 있느냐?
  3. 땅의 옷깃을 휘어잡고 불의한 사람들을 그 속에서 털어내라고 명령을 내려본 일이 있느냐?
  4. 네가 땅을 도장찍힌 흙벽돌처럼 붉게 만들고 옷처럼 울긋불긋하게 만들겠느냐?
  5. 불량배들이 대낮처럼 활보하던 어둠을 벗기고 높이 쳐들었던 그 팔을 꺾기라도 하겠느냐?
  1. And I said, 'Thus far you shall come, but no farther; And here shall your proud waves stop'?
  2. "Have you ever in your life commanded the morning, And caused the dawn to know its place,
  3. That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, And the wicked be shaken out of it?
  4. "It is changed like clay under the seal; And they stand forth like a garment.
  5. "From the wicked their light is withheld, And the uplifted arm is broken.
  1. 네가 바닷속 깊이 더듬어 내려가 바닷물이 솟는 샘구멍까지 찾아가 보았느냐?
  2. 너는 죽음의 문이 환히 드러나는 것과 암흑의 나라 대문이 뚜렷이 나타나는 것을 본 일이 있느냐?
  3. 네가 넓은 땅 위를 구석구석 살펴 알아보지 못한 것이 없거든, 어서 말해 보아라.
  4. 빛의 전당으로 가는 길은 어디냐? 어둠이 도사리고 있는 곳은 어디냐?
  5. 너는 빛을 제 나라로 이끌어가고 어둠을 본고장으로 몰아갈 수 있느냐?
  1. "Have you entered into the springs of the sea Or walked in the recesses of the deep?
  2. "Have the gates of death been revealed to you, Or have you seen the gates of deep darkness?
  3. "Have you understood the expanse of the earth? Tell Me, if you know all this.
  4. "Where is the way to the dwelling of light? And darkness, where is its place,
  5. That you may take it to its territory And that you may discern the paths to its home?
  1. 네가 그 한 옛날에 태어나 오래오래 살았으므로 그래서 모르는 것이 없단 말이냐?
  2. 너는 흰 눈을 저장해 둔 곳에 가본 일이 있으며, 우박 창고에 들어가 본 일이 있느냐?
  3. 그것들은 어려운 일이 생기거나 적군이 쳐들어와 전쟁이라도 일어나면 쓰려고 보관해 둔 것들이다.
  4. 바람이 갈라지는 목이 어디인지를 너는 아느냐? 샛바람이 땅 위에서 어느 쪽으로 흩어지는지,
  5. 소나기가 타고 올 길을 누가 텄는지, 먹구름이 천둥치며 쏟아져 내릴 곳을 누가 팠는지, 너는 아느냐?
  1. "You know, for you were born then, And the number of your days is great!
  2. "Have you entered the storehouses of the snow, Or have you seen the storehouses of the hail,
  3. Which I have reserved for the time of distress, For the day of war and battle?
  4. "Where is the way that the light is divided, Or the east wind scattered on the earth?
  5. "Who has cleft a channel for the flood, Or a way for the thunderbolt,
  1. 사람이란 얼씬도 하지 않는 곳, 인종이란 있어본 적도 없는 광야에 비가 쏟아져
  2. 거친 들을 흠뻑 적시고 메말랐던 땅에 푸성귀가 돋아 나게 하는 것이 누구냐?
  3. 비에게 아비라도 있단 말이냐? 방울방울 이슬을 낳은 어미라도 있단 말이냐?
  4. 얼음을 잉태한 배라도 있단 말이냐? 하늘에서 서리를 낳아 내릴 배라도 있단 말이냐?
  5. 물이 돌처럼 단단해지고 깊은 물이 꽁꽁 얼어붙을 때에.
  1. To bring rain on a land without people, On a desert without a man in it,
  2. To satisfy the waste and desolate land And to make the seeds of grass to sprout?
  3. "Has the rain a father? Or who has begotten the drops of dew?
  4. "From whose womb has come the ice? And the frost of heaven, who has given it birth?
  5. "Water becomes hard like stone, And the surface of the deep is imprisoned.
  1. 네가 북두칠성에게 굴레라도 씌우고 오리온 성좌의 사슬을 풀어주기라도 한단 말이냐?
  2. 네가 성좌들을 정한 시간에 이끌어내고 대웅좌 소웅좌를 인도해 내기라도 한단 말이냐?
  3. 네가 천상의 운행 법칙을 결정하고 지상의 자연 법칙을 만들었느냐?
  4. 너는 구름에 호령하여 물을 동이로 쏟아 땅을 뒤덮게 할 수 있느냐?
  5. 네가 "나가라."고 명령하면 "알았습니다." 하며 번갯불이 번쩍 퉁겨 나가느냐?
  1. "Can you bind the chains of the Pleiades, Or loose the cords of Orion?
  2. "Can you lead forth a constellation in its season, And guide the Bear with her satellites?
  3. "Do you know the ordinances of the heavens, Or fix their rule over the earth?
  4. "Can you lift up your voice to the clouds, So that an abundance of water will cover you?
  5. "Can you send forth lightnings that they may go And say to you, 'Here we are'?
  1. 누가 따오기에게 지혜를 주었느냐? 누가 닭에게 슬기를 주었느냐?
  2. (ㄱ)누가 구름을 셀 만한 천재이냐? (ㄴ)하늘에서 독을 기울여 물을 쏟을 수 있는 사람이 누구냐?
  3. 먼지가 덩이와 덩이로 굳어졌다가 하나로 뭉쳐지게 되도록
  4. (ㄱ)네가 사자에게 먹이를 잡아줄 수 있느냐? (ㄴ)허기진 새끼 사자들의 배를 채워줄 수 있느냐?
  5. 굴 속에 웅크리고 떨기 속에 숨어 노리고 있는
  1. "Who has put wisdom in the innermost being Or given understanding to the mind?
  2. "Who can count the clouds by wisdom, Or tip the water jars of the heavens,
  3. When the dust hardens into a mass And the clods stick together?
  4. "Can you hunt the prey for the lion, Or satisfy the appetite of the young lions,
  5. When they crouch in their dens And lie in wait in their lair?
  1. 새끼들이 먹이가 없어 허둥대며 하느님께 아우성칠 때에 누가 까마귀에게 먹이를 장만해 주느냐?
  1. "Who prepares for the raven its nourishment When its young cry to God And wander about without food?
