욥기 39:1-40:24

 하나님께서는 자연 세계에 관한 여러 가지 질문을 하시면서 욥에게 대답을 요구하셨다. 그러자 욥은 자신은 미천하여 하나님께 대답할 수 없다고 고백하였다. 하나님께서는 하마에 대하여 설명하시면서 욥에게 교만을 버릴 것과 욥을 지으신 하나님의 절대 주권을 나타내셨다.
  
  하나님과 욥의 대화(39:1-40:24)    
 
  1. 산양이 언제 새끼를 낳는지 너는 아느냐? 사슴이 새끼를 낳는 것을 지켜본 일이 있느냐?
  2. 몇 달이나 뱃속에 새끼를 넣고 다니더냐? 그리고 얼마만에 분만하더냐?
  3. 그것들은 몸을 구푸려 새끼를 낳아 광야에 그 짐을 쏟아 놓는다.
  4. 그 새끼들이 팔팔하게 자라면 버려둔 채 떠나가서 돌아오지도 않는다.
  5. 그 누가 들나귀들을 풀어놓아 그것들을 자유롭게 하여주었느냐?
  1. "Do you know the time the mountain goats give birth? Do you observe the calving of the deer?
  2. "Can you count the months they fulfill, Or do you know the time they give birth?
  3. "They kneel down, they bring forth their young, They get rid of their labor pains.
  4. "Their offspring become strong, they grow up in the open field; They leave and do not return to them.
  5. "Who sent out the wild donkey free? And who loosed the bonds of the swift donkey,
  1. 들나귀들을 광야에 깃들이게 하며 소금기 머금은 땅에서 살게 한 것은 바로 나다.
  2. 인가에서 이는 소란쯤은 콧방귀로 날리는 들나귀들을 야단치며 몰아갈 사람이 어디 있느냐?
  3. 그것들은 먹이를 찾아 이 산 저 산 기웃거리며 풀이란 풀은 모두 마음껏 뜯는다.
  4. 들소가 어찌하여 네 일을 거들어주며, 네 구유 옆에서 밤을 새우겠느냐?
  5. 네가 그것을 잡아 굴레를 씌워 밭갈이를 시킬 수 있겠느냐? 네 뒤를 따라 골짜기를 갈게 할 수 있느냐?
  1. To whom I gave the wilderness for a home And the salt land for his dwelling place?
  2. "He scorns the tumult of the city, The shoutings of the driver he does not hear.
  3. "He explores the mountains for his pasture And searches after every green thing.
  4. "Will the wild ox consent to serve you, Or will he spend the night at your manger?
  5. "Can you bind the wild ox in a furrow with ropes, Or will he harrow the valleys after you?
  1. 그것의 억센 힘을 믿고 네 힘든 일을 그에게 맡길 수 있겠느냐?
  2. 그것이 밭의 소출을 싣고 타작 마당으로 돌아와 주리라고 믿을 수 있느냐?
  3. 털이 빠진 날개를 펴고 어쩔 줄 모르며 좋아하는 타조를 보아라.
  4. 땅에 알을 낳아놓고는 땅의 온기만 받도록 버려두지 않느냐?
  5. 밟히건 말건 아랑곳하지 않고 들짐승이 깨뜨리건 말건 걱정도 하지 않는다.
  1. "Will you trust him because his strength is great And leave your labor to him?
  2. "Will you have faith in him that he will return your grain And gather it from your threshing floor?
  3. "The ostriches' wings flap joyously With the pinion and plumage of love,
  4. For she abandons her eggs to the earth And warms them in the dust,
  5. And she forgets that a foot may crush them, Or that a wild beast may trample them.
  1. 제 새끼가 아닌 듯이 쪼아대고 낳느라고 고생한 일이 허사가 되는 것쯤 염두에도 없다.
  2. 이렇게 타조에게서 지혜를 빼앗은 이는 하느님이다. 하느님은 애당초 타조에게 슬기를 나누어주지 않았다.
  3. 그런데 그것이 한번 날개치며 내달으면 말과 기마병을 한꺼번에 놀려주지 않느냐?
  4. 네가 말에게 날랜 힘을 주었느냐? 그 목덜미에 휘날리는 갈기를 입혀주었느냐?
  5. 네가 말을 메뚜기처럼 뛰게 할 수 있느냐? 힝힝하는 그 콧소리에 모두들 두려워한다.
  1. "She treats her young cruelly, as if they were not hers; Though her labor be in vain, she is unconcerned;
  2. Because God has made her forget wisdom, And has not given her a share of understanding.
  3. "When she lifts herself on high, She laughs at the horse and his rider.
  4. "Do you give the horse his might? Do you clothe his neck with a mane?
  5. "Do you make him leap like the locust? His majestic snorting is terrible.
  1. 발굽으로 세차게 땅을 파다가 힘을 뻗쳐 내달으면
  2. 눈썹 하나 까닥하지 않고 무서움쯤은 콧등으로 날려버리며 칼날도 피하지 아니하고 내닫는다.
  3. 화살통이 신나게 덩그렁거리고 창과 표창이 번뜩이는데
  4. 아우성치는 함성을 헤치며 땅을 주름잡고 곁눈 한번 팔지 않고 돌진한다.
  5. 나팔 소리 울려오면 "힝힝" 울고 지휘관들의 고함과 진격 명령만 듣고도 멀리서 풍겨오는 전쟁 냄새를 맡는다.
  1. "He paws in the valley, and rejoices in his strength; He goes out to meet the weapons.
  2. "He laughs at fear and is not dismayed; And he does not turn back from the sword.
  3. "The quiver rattles against him, The flashing spear and javelin.
  4. "With shaking and rage he races over the ground, And he does not stand still at the voice of the trumpet.
  5. "As often as the trumpet sounds he says, 'Aha!' And he scents the battle from afar, And the thunder of the captains and the war cry.
  1. 매가 너의 충고를 받아 날개를 펴고 남쪽으로 날아가는 줄 아느냐?
  2. 독수리가 네 명령을 따라 높이 치솟아 아득한 곳에 보금자리를 트는 줄 아느냐?
  3. 까마득한 벼랑 바위 틈에 보금자리를 틀고 밤을 지내며
  4. 그 높은 데서 먹이를 찾아 눈을 부릅뜨고 살핀다.
  5. 피묻은 고기로 새끼를 키우니 주검이 있는 곳에 어찌 독수리가 모이지 않겠느냐?
  1. "Is it by your understanding that the hawk soars, Stretching his wings toward the south?
  2. "Is it at your command that the eagle mounts up And makes his nest on high?
  3. "On the cliff he dwells and lodges, Upon the rocky crag, an inaccessible place.
  4. "From there he spies out food; His eyes see it from afar.
  5. "His young ones also suck up blood; And where the slain are, there is he."
 
 
  1. 야훼께서 욥에게 대답하셨다.
  2. 전능하신 이와 변론하는 자야, 어찌 물러서려느냐? 하느님을 비난하는 자야, 대답하여라.
  3. 욥이 야훼께 대답하였다.
  4. 아, 제 입이 너무 가벼웠습니다. 무슨 할 말이 더 있겠사옵니까? 손으로 입을 막을 도리밖에 없사옵니다.
  5. 한 번 말씀드린 것도 무엄한 일이었는데 또 무슨 대답을 하겠습니까? 두 번 다시 말씀드리지 않겠사옵니다.
  1. Then the LORD said to Job,
  2. "Will the faultfinder contend with the Almighty? Let him who reproves God answer it."
  3. Then Job answered the LORD and said,
  4. "Behold, I am insignificant; what can I reply to You? I lay my hand on my mouth.
  5. "Once I have spoken, and I will not answer; Even twice, and I will add nothing more."
  1. 야훼께서 욥에게 폭풍 속에서 대답하셨다.
  2. 대장부답게 허리를 묶고 나서라. 나 이제 물을 터이니, 알거든 대답하여라.
  3. 네가 나의 판결을 뒤엎을 셈이냐? 너의 무죄함을 내세워 나를 죄인으로 몰 작정이냐?
  4. 네 팔이 하느님의 팔만큼 힘이 있단 말이냐? 너의 목소리가 천둥 소리와 같단 말이냐?
  5. 그렇다면 권세와 위엄으로 단장하고 권위와 영화를 걸치고
  1. Then the LORD answered Job out of the storm and said,
  2. "Now gird up your loins like a man; I will ask you, and you instruct Me.
  3. "Will you really annul My judgment? Will you condemn Me that you may be justified?
  4. "Or do you have an arm like God, And can you thunder with a voice like His?
  5. "Adorn yourself with eminence and dignity, And clothe yourself with honor and majesty.
  1. 너의 분노를 폭발시켜 보아라. 건방진 자가 보이거든 짓뭉개 주어라.
  2. 거드럭거리는 자가 보이거든 꺾어버려라. 불의한 자는 짓밟아버려라.
  3. 한꺼번에 땅 속에 묻어버려라. 땅굴 속에 가두어버려라.
  4. 그렇게 할 수 있다면 내가 알아주리라. 네가 자신의 힘으로 헤어날 수 있으리라고.
  5. 보아라 저 베헤못을, 황소처럼 풀을 뜯는 저 모습을, 내가 너를 만들 때 함께 만든 것이다.
  1. "Pour out the overflowings of your anger, And look on everyone who is proud, and make him low.
  2. "Look on everyone who is proud, and humble him, And tread down the wicked where they stand.
  3. "Hide them in the dust together; Bind them in the hidden place.
  4. "Then I will also confess to you, That your own right hand can save you.
  5. "Behold now, Behemoth, which I made as well as you; He eats grass like an ox.
  1. 저 억센 허리를 보아라. 뱃가죽에서 뻗치는 저 힘을 보아라.
  2. 송백처럼 뻗은 저 꼬리, 힘줄이 얽혀 터질 듯하는 저 굵은 다리를 보아라.
  3. 청동관 같은 뼈대, 무쇠 빗장 같은 저 갈비뼈를 보아라.
  4. 맨 처음에 하느님이 보인 솜씨다. 다른 짐승들을 거느리라고 만든 것이다.
  5. 산의 소출을 가져다 바치니 들짐승들이 모두 와서 함께 즐긴다.
  1. "Behold now, his strength in his loins And his power in the muscles of his belly.
  2. "He bends his tail like a cedar; The sinews of his thighs are knit together.
  3. "His bones are tubes of bronze; His limbs are like bars of iron.
  4. "He is the first of the ways of God; Let his maker bring near his sword.
  5. "Surely the mountains bring him food, And all the beasts of the field play there.
  1. 푸성한 연꽃잎 밑에 의젓하게 엎드리고 갈대 우거진 수렁에 몸을 숨기니
  2. 연꽃잎이 그늘을 드리우고 강가의 버드나무가 그를 둘러싸 준다.
  3. 강물이 덮쳐 씌워도 꿈쩍하지 아니하고 요르단 강이 입으로 쏟아져 들어가도 태연한데
  4. 누가 저 베헤못을 눈으로 홀리며 저 코에 낚시를 걸 수 있느냐?
  1. "Under the lotus plants he lies down, In the covert of the reeds and the marsh.
  2. "The lotus plants cover him with shade; The willows of the brook surround him.
  3. "If a river rages, he is not alarmed; He is confident, though the Jordan rushes to his mouth.
  4. "Can anyone capture him when he is on watch, With barbs can anyone pierce his nose?
