욥기 41:1-42:17

 하나님은 악어에 대하여 설명하시면서 인간의 한계를 나타내시고, 하나님의 주권적인 능력을 보여 주셨다. 이에 욥은 하나님의 전능하심과 자신의 미천함을 깨닫고 자신의 무지한 말과 교만을 회개하였다. 그리고 하나님께서 엘리바스에게 욥의 친구들이 올바르지 못했다고 책망하셨고, 욥은 친구들을 위해 야웨께 번제를 드렸다. 그 후 하나님께서는 욥에게 갑절의 복을 주셨다.
  
  욥의 회개(41:1-42:17)    
 
  1. 그 앞에서는 아무도 이길 가망이 없어 보기만 해도 뒤로 넘어진다.
  2. 건드리기만 하여도 사나워져 아무도 맞설 수가 없다.
  3. 누가 그와 맞서서 무사하겠느냐? 하늘 아래 그럴 사람이 없다.
  4. 그 무지무지한 다리 이야기를 어찌 빼놓으랴! 그 당당한 억센 체구를 어찌 말하지 않겠느냐?
  5. 그 겉옷 앞자락을 누가 헤칠 수 있으며 겹으로 입은 그 갑옷을 누가 젖힐 수 있느냐?
  1. "Can you draw out Leviathan with a fishhook? Or press down his tongue with a cord?
  2. "Can you put a rope in his nose Or pierce his jaw with a hook?
  3. "Will he make many supplications to you, Or will he speak to you soft words?
  4. "Will he make a covenant with you? Will you take him for a servant forever?
  5. "Will you play with him as with a bird, Or will you bind him for your maidens?
  1. 누가 그 턱을 벌릴 수 있느냐? 줄지어 선 저 무서운 이빨,
  2. 방패 사이사이로 고랑진 등가죽에 단단한 돌인장으로 봉인한 것 같은 저 등,
  3. 바람도 틈탈 수 없도록 서로서로 맞닿아 있고
  4. 서로서로 얽혀 있으니 떨어질 리도 없다.
  5. 재채기 소리에 불이 번쩍하고 그 눈초리는 새벽 여신의 눈망울 같구나.
  1. "Will the traders bargain over him? Will they divide him among the merchants?
  2. "Can you fill his skin with harpoons, Or his head with fishing spears?
  3. "Lay your hand on him; Remember the battle; you will not do it again!
  4. "Behold, your expectation is false; Will you be laid low even at the sight of him?
  5. "No one is so fierce that he dares to arouse him; Who then is he that can stand before Me?
  1. 아가리에서 내뿜는 횃불, 퉁겨 나오는 불꽃을 보아라.
  2. 연기를 펑펑 쏟는 저 콧구멍은 차라리 활활 타오르는 아궁이구나.
  3. 목구멍에서 이글이글 타는 숯불, 입에서 내뿜는 저 불길을 보아라.
  4. 목덜미엔 힘이 도사려 있어 그 앞에서 절망의 그림자가 흐느적일 뿐,
  5. 뗄 수 없이 마구 얽혀 피둥피둥한 저 살덩어리를 보아라.
  1. "Who has given to Me that I should repay him? Whatever is under the whole heaven is Mine.
  2. "I will not keep silence concerning his limbs, Or his mighty strength, or his orderly frame.
  3. "Who can strip off his outer armor? Who can come within his double mail?
  4. "Who can open the doors of his face? Around his teeth there is terror.
  5. "His strong scales are his pride, Shut up as with a tight seal.
  1. 바위같이 단단한 심장, 맷돌 아래짝처럼 튼튼한 염통,
  2. 한번 일어서면 신들도 무서워 혼비백산하여 거꾸러진다.
  3. 칼로 찔러보아도 박히지 않고 창이나 표창, 화살 따위로도 어림없다.
  4. 쇠를 지푸라기인 양 부러뜨리고 청동을 썩은 나무인 양 비벼버린다.
  5. 아무리 활을 쏘아도 달아날 생각도 하지 않고 팔맷돌은 마치 바람에 날리는 겨와 같구나.
  1. "One is so near to another That no air can come between them.
  2. "They are joined one to another; They clasp each other and cannot be separated.
  3. "His sneezes flash forth light, And his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning.
  4. "Out of his mouth go burning torches; Sparks of fire leap forth.
  5. "Out of his nostrils smoke goes forth As from a boiling pot and burning rushes.
  1. 몽둥이는 검불처럼 여기며 절렁절렁 소리내며 날아드는 표창 따위에는 코웃음친다.
  2. 뱃가죽은 날카로운 질그릇 조각과 같아 타작기가 할퀸 땅바닥처럼 지나간 흔적을 남기며
  3. 깊은 물웅덩이를 솥처럼 끓게 하고 바닷물을 기름 가마처럼 부글거리게 하는구나.
  4. 번쩍 길을 내며 지나가는 저 모습, 흰 머리를 휘날리며 물귀신같이 지나간다.
  5. 지상의 그 누가 그와 겨루랴. 생겨날 때부터 도무지 두려움을 모르는구나.
  1. "His breath kindles coals, And a flame goes forth from his mouth.
  2. "In his neck lodges strength, And dismay leaps before him.
  3. "The folds of his flesh are joined together, Firm on him and immovable.
  4. "His heart is as hard as a stone, Even as hard as a lower millstone.
  5. "When he raises himself up, the mighty fear; Because of the crashing they are bewildered.
  1. 모든 권력가가 그 앞에서 쩔쩔매니, 모든 거만한 것들의 왕이 여기에 있다.
  1. "The sword that reaches him cannot avail, Nor the spear, the dart or the javelin.
  2. "He regards iron as straw, Bronze as rotten wood.
  3. "The arrow cannot make him flee; Slingstones are turned into stubble for him.
  4. "Clubs are regarded as stubble; He laughs at the rattling of the javelin.
  5. "His underparts are like sharp potsherds; He spreads out like a threshing sledge on the mire.
  1. "He makes the depths boil like a pot; He makes the sea like a jar of ointment.
  2. "Behind him he makes a wake to shine; One would think the deep to be gray-haired.
  3. "Nothing on earth is like him, One made without fear.
  4. "He looks on everything that is high; He is king over all the sons of pride."
 
 
  1. 욥이 야훼께 대답하였다.
  2. 알았습니다. 당신께서는 못하실 일이 없으십니다. 계획하신 일은 무엇이든지 이루십니다.
  3. 부질없는 말로 당신의 뜻을 가린 자, 그것은 바로 저였습니다. 이 머리로는 헤아릴 수 없는 신비한 일들을 영문도 모르면서 지껄였습니다.
  4. 당신께서는 말씀하셨습니다. "이제 들어라. 내가 말하겠다. 내가 물을 터이니 알거든 대답하여라."
  5. 당신께서 어떤 분이시라는 것을 소문으로 겨우 들었었는데, 이제 저는 이 눈으로 당신을 뵈었습니다.
  1. Then Job answered the LORD and said,
  2. "I know that You can do all things, And that no purpose of Yours can be thwarted.
  3. 'Who is this that hides counsel without knowledge?' "Therefore I have declared that which I did not understand, Things too wonderful for me, which I did not know."
  4. 'Hear, now, and I will speak; I will ask You, and You instruct me.'
  5. "I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear; But now my eye sees You;
  1. 그리하여 제 말이 잘못되었음을 깨닫고 티끌과 잿더미에 앉아 뉘우칩니다.
  2. 야훼께서 욥과 말씀을 마치신 다음에 데만 사람 엘리바즈에게 말씀하셨다. "너와 너의 두 친구를 생각하면 터지는 분노를 참을 길 없구나. 너희는 내 이야기를 할 때 욥처럼 솔직하지 못하였다.
  3. 이제 너희는 수소 일곱 마리와 숫양 일곱 마리를 가지고 나의 종 욥에게로 가서 너희를 위하여 번제를 드려라. 나의 종 욥이 너희를 위하여 기도를 드려주리라. 그러면 그의 기도를 듣고 나는 너희를 크게 벌하지 않으리라. 너희는 내 이야기를 할 때 나의 종 욥처럼 솔직하지 못하였다."
  4. 데만 사람 엘리바즈와 수아 사람 빌닷과 나아마 사람 소바르는 곧 야훼의 분부대로 하였다. 야훼께서는 욥의 기도를 기꺼이 들어주셨다.
  5. 욥이 친구들을 위하여 기도를 드리니, 야훼께서 욥의 소유를 회복시켜 주셨다. 야훼께서 욥의 소유를 전보다 두 배나 돌려주셨다.
  1. Therefore I retract, And I repent in dust and ashes."
  2. It came about after the LORD had spoken these words to Job, that the LORD said to Eliphaz the Temanite, "My wrath is kindled against you and against your two friends, because you have not spoken of Me what is right as My servant Job has.
  3. "Now therefore, take for yourselves seven bulls and seven rams, and go to My servant Job, and offer up a burnt offering for yourselves, and My servant Job will pray for you For I will accept him so that I may not do with you according to your folly, because you have not spoken of Me what is right, as My servant Job has."
  4. So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went and did as the LORD told them; and the LORD accepted Job.
  5. The LORD restored the fortunes of Job when he prayed for his friends, and the LORD increased all that Job had twofold.
  1. 그의 동생들과 누이들, 또 그의 옛 친지들이 찾아와서 그의 집에서 함께 먹고 마셨다. 그 동안 야훼께서 욥에게 내린 재난이 얼마나 괴로웠느냐고 동정어린 말로 그를 위로하면서 저마다 돈을 주고 금반지를 끼워주었다.
  2. 야훼께서 욥의 여생에 전날보다 더한 복을 내려주셨다. 양 만 사천 마리, 낙타 육천 마리, 겨릿소 천 쌍, 암나귀 천 마리에다
  3. 또 일곱 아들과 세 딸도 주셨다.
  4. 첫 딸의 이름을 예미마라 하고, 둘째 딸의 이름은 케지야라 하고, 셋째 딸의 이름은 케렌 하뿌아라 지어주었다.
  5. 전 세계에서 욥의 딸들만큼 아리따운 여자를 찾을 수 없었다. 욥은 딸들에게도 그들의 오빠에게 준 것과 같은 유산을 나누어주었다.
  1. Then all his brothers and all his sisters and all who had known him before came to him, and they ate bread with him in his house; and they consoled him and comforted him for all the adversities that the LORD had brought on him. And each one gave him one piece of money, and each a ring of gold.
  2. The LORD blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning; and he had 14,000 sheep and 6,000 camels and 1,000 yoke of oxen and 1,000 female donkeys.
  3. He had seven sons and three daughters.
  4. He named the first Jemimah, and the second Keziah, and the third Keren-happuch.
  5. In all the land no women were found so fair as Job's daughters; and their father gave them inheritance among their brothers.
  1. 그 후 욥은 백사십 년을 살면서 사대손을 보았다.
  2. 욥은 이렇게 수를 다 누리고 늙어서 세상을 떠났다.
  1. After this, Job lived 140 years, and saw his sons and his grandsons, four generations.
  2. And Job died, an old man and full of days.
