- 제육년 유월 오일, 나는 집에 앉아 있었다. 유다 장로들이 내 앞에 앉아 있는데 주 야훼께서 손을 내밀어 나를 사로잡으셨다.
- 내 눈에 비친 그 모습은 사람같이 보였으나, 허리 아래 모양은 불 같았고, 허리 위는 놋쇠처럼 환히 빛나는 것이었다.
- 그분이 손같이 생긴 것을 내미시어 내 머리를 잡으시자, 그의 기운이 나를 공중에 번쩍 들어올렸다. 나는 신비스런 발현 속에서 예루살렘으로 들려갔다. 그 곳은 질투를 불러일으키는 우상이 자리잡고 있는 북향 안문 문간이었다.
- 거기에서 나는 전에 들판에서 본 것 같은 이스라엘의 하느님의 영광을 보았다.
- 거기에서 "너 사람아, 어서 북쪽을 바라보아라." 하시는 그분의 말씀을 듣고 북쪽으로 눈을 돌리니, 제단 문 북쪽 초입에 질투를 불러일으키는 우상이 있었다.

- It came about in the sixth year, on the fifth day of the sixth month, as I was sitting in my house with the elders of Judah sitting before me, that the hand of the Lord GOD fell on me there.
- Then I looked, and behold, a likeness as the appearance of a man; from His loins and downward there was the appearance of fire, and from His loins and upward the appearance of brightness, like the appearance of glowing metal.
- He stretched out the form of a hand and caught me by a lock of my head; and the Spirit lifted me up between earth and heaven and brought me in the visions of God to Jerusalem, to the entrance of the north gate of the inner court, where the seat of the idol of jealousy, which provokes to jealousy, was located.
- And behold, the glory of the God of Israel was there, like the appearance which I saw in the plain.
- Then He said to me, "Son of man, raise your eyes now toward the north " So I raised my eyes toward the north, and behold, to the north of the altar gate was this idol of jealousy at the entrance.

- 그분은 "너 사람아, 사람들이 무엇을 하고 있는지 보이느냐?" 하시면서 나에게 이렇게 말씀하셨다. "이스라엘 집안이 여기에서 하고 있는 짓은 너무나도 역겨운 짓들이다. 이런 행위로 그들은 나를 내 성소에서 멀리 떠나게 하였다. 너는 여기에서 이 외에도 그들이 하는 역겨운 일을 더 보게 되리라."
- 그분은 나를 뜰로 들어가는 문간으로 데리고 가셨다. 거기에 가보니, 담에 구멍이 하나 있었다.
- 그분이 나에게 "너 사람아, 담을 뚫어라." 하시기에 그 담을 뚫으니, 문이 하나 보였다.
- 그분이 말씀하셨다. "들어가 보아라. 사람들이 거기에서 흉악하고 발칙한 짓들을 하고 있을 것이다." 그의 말씀을 따라
- 들어가 보니 온갖 길짐승과 추한 짐승의 그림과 이스라엘 가문이 섬기는 온갖 우상이 그 담 사면에 돌아가며 새겨져 있는 것이었다.

- And He said to me, "Son of man, do you see what they are doing, the great abominations which the house of Israel are committing here, so that I would be far from My sanctuary? But yet you will see still greater abominations."
- Then He brought me to the entrance of the court, and when I looked, behold, a hole in the wall.
- He said to me, "Son of man, now dig through the wall." So I dug through the wall, and behold, an entrance.
- And He said to me, "Go in and see the wicked abominations that they are committing here."
- So I entered and looked, and behold, every form of creeping things and beasts and detestable things, with all the idols of the house of Israel, were carved on the wall all around.

- 그리고 이스라엘 가문의 장로 칠십 명이 사반의 아들 야자니야를 가운데 세우고 그 우상들 앞에 서서 저마다 손에 향로를 들고 있는데 향연이 향기를 풍기며 올라가고 있었다.
- 그분이 나에게 말씀하셨다. "너는 이스라엘 가문의 장로들이 따로따로 신상을 그려놓은 컴컴한 방에서 하고 있는 짓들을 보았느냐? 저들은 내가 이미 저희를 돌보지 않고 이미 이 땅을 버렸다고들 생각하고 있다."
- 그리고는 "이들이 하는 역겨운 짓을 또 보아라." 하시며
- 나를 야훼의 성전 북향 정문 문간으로 데리고 가셨다. 거기에서는 여인들이 앉아서 담무즈 신의 죽음을 곡하고 있었다.
- "너 사람아, 보았느냐?" 하시면서 그분은 나에게 말씀하셨다. "이보다 더 역겨운 짓을 또 보아라."

- Standing in front of them were seventy elders of the house of Israel, with Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan standing among them, each man with his censer in his hand and the fragrance of the cloud of incense rising.
- Then He said to me, "Son of man, do you see what the elders of the house of Israel are committing in the dark, each man in the room of his carved images? For they say, 'The LORD does not see us; the LORD has forsaken the land.'"
- And He said to me, "Yet you will see still greater abominations which they are committing."
- Then He brought me to the entrance of the gate of the LORD'S house which was toward the north; and behold, women were sitting there weeping for Tammuz.
- He said to me, "Do you see this, son of man? Yet you will see still greater abominations than these."

- 그리고는 나를 야훼의 성전 안마당으로 데리고 가셨다. 거기 야훼의 성전 정문간, 현관과 제단 사이에 사람 이십오 명 가량이 야훼의 성전을 등지고 동쪽을 향하여 해를 보며 절하고 있었다.
- "너 사람아, 보았느냐?" 하시면서 그분은 나에게 말씀하셨다. "유다 가문이 여기에서 이런 역겨운 짓을 하는 것을 어찌 작은 일이라 하겠느냐? 이러고도 부족해서 그들은 불법이 판을 치는 세상을 만들었다. 그래서 나의 화만 돋우어주었다. 저렇게 나뭇가지를 코에 갖다 대고 있지 않느냐?
- 나도 이제는 화나는 대로 하리라. 가엾게 여기지도 아니하고 불쌍히 보지도 아니하리라. 그들이 내 귀가 찢어지도록 소리를 질러도 들어주지 아니하리라."

- Then He brought me into the inner court of the LORD'S house. And behold, at the entrance to the temple of the LORD, between the porch and the altar, were about twenty-five men with their backs to the temple of the LORD and their faces toward the east; and they were prostrating themselves eastward toward the sun.
- He said to me, "Do you see this, son of man? Is it too light a thing for the house of Judah to commit the abominations which they have committed here, that they have filled the land with violence and provoked Me repeatedly? For behold, they are putting the twig to their nose.
- "Therefore, I indeed will deal in wrath. My eye will have no pity nor will I spare; and though they cry in My ears with a loud voice, yet I will not listen to them."
