에스겔 14:1-16:22

 하나님께서는 우상을 섬기는 장로들을 책망하셨고, 어떤 의인도 예루살렘의 심판에서 백성들을 구원할 수 없다고 말씀하셨다. 또한 이스라엘 백성을 열매 맺지 못하는 포도나무와 음란한 여인에 비유하여 그들이 심판을 피할 수 없음을 지적하셨다.
  
  우상 숭배자의 죄(14:1-14:23)    
 
  1. 이스라엘 장로 몇 사람이 나를 찾아왔다. 그들이 내 앞에 앉아 있는데
  2. 야훼께서 나에게 말씀을 내리셨다.
  3. "너 사람아, 이들은 우상에나 마음이 쏠려 있는 자들이다. 그들은 스스로를 죄짓게 하는 올가미밖에 생각하지 않는 것들이다. 그런데 그런 것들이 어처구니없게도 나에게 알아볼 일이 있어 왔구나.
  4. 그렇다면 말해 주어라. 나의 말을 일러주어라. '주 야훼가 말한다. 이스라엘 족속으로서 우상에나 마음이 쏠려 있고 스스로를 죄짓게 하는 올가미만을 생각하면서도, 예언자에게 왔으니, 아무리 많은 우상을 섬기는 자라 하더라도 이 야훼가 친히 대답해 주리라.'
  5. 비록 나를 떠나 우상을 섬기는 것들이지만, 이 이스라엘 족속의 마음을 그렇게 해서라도 잡아야겠다.
  1. Then some elders of Israel came to me and sat down before me.
  2. And the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
  3. "Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their hearts and have put right before their faces the stumbling block of their iniquity Should I be consulted by them at all?
  4. "Therefore speak to them and tell them, 'Thus says the Lord GOD, "Any man of the house of Israel who sets up his idols in his heart, puts right before his face the stumbling block of his iniquity, and then comes to the prophet, I the LORD will be brought to give him an answer in the matter in view of the multitude of his idols,
  5. in order to lay hold of the hearts of the house of Israel who are estranged from Me through all their idols."'
  1. 그러니 너는 이스라엘 족속에게 일러주어라. '주 야훼가 말한다. 돌아오라, 너희의 우상을 떠나 돌아오라. 너희가 섬기는 온갖 역겨운 것들에게서 얼굴을 돌려라.
  2. 이스라엘 족속이나 이스라엘에 몸붙여 사는 외국인이나, 나를 떠나 저희 자신을 죄짓게 하는 올가미인 줄도 모르고 우상에 마음을 쏟는 자들이 비록 마음에 없으면서도 예언자에게 와서 묻는다면 이 야훼는 친히 대답해 주리라.
  3. 그가 내 눈총을 받아 내 백성 가운데서 잘리리니, 너희는 그가 망하는 모양을 보고 정신을 차리게 될 것이다. 그제야 너희는 내가 야훼임을 알리라.
  4. 만일 예언자가 꾐에 빠져 그런 말을 한다면, 바로 내가 그 예언자를 유혹한 것이다. 나는 내 백성 이스라엘 가운데서 그런 자를 내 손으로 없애버리리라.
  5. 그러나 죄는 예언자에게만 있는 것이 아니라 물어보러 가는 사람에게도 있기 때문에 쌍방에 같은 벌을 내리리라.
  1. "Therefore say to the house of Israel, 'Thus says the Lord GOD, "Repent and turn away from your idols and turn your faces away from all your abominations.
  2. "For anyone of the house of Israel or of the immigrants who stay in Israel who separates himself from Me, sets up his idols in his heart, puts right before his face the stumbling block of his iniquity, and then comes to the prophet to inquire of Me for himself, I the LORD will be brought to answer him in My own person.
  3. "I will set My face against that man and make him a sign and a proverb, and I will cut him off from among My people. So you will know that I am the LORD.
  4. "But if the prophet is prevailed upon to speak a word, it is I, the LORD, who have prevailed upon that prophet, and I will stretch out My hand against him and destroy him from among My people Israel.
  5. "They will bear the punishment of their iniquity; as the iniquity of the inquirer is, so the iniquity of the prophet will be,
  1. 이는 이스라엘 족속이 다시는 나를 떠나 헤매지 않고, 온갖 죄를 지어 부정한 백성이 되지 않게 하려 함이다. 다시 이 백성이 나의 백성이 되고 내가 이 백성의 하느님이 되려 함이다. 주 야훼가 하는 말이다.'"
  2. 야훼께서 나에게 말씀을 내리셨다.
  3. "너 사람아, 어느 나라가 나를 거역하여 잘못을 저질렀는데 내가 손을 뻗쳐 한재를 내려 그 백성의 밥줄을 끊고 사람과 짐승을 없애버린다고 하자.
  4. 그리고 거기에 노아나 다넬이나 욥 같은 사람이 있다고 하자. 그 세 사람도 옳게 산 덕분에 자기들의 목숨이나 겨우 건질 수 있으리라. 주 야훼가 하는 말이다.
  5. 또 내가 그 땅에 맹수를 보내어 그것들이 돌아다니며 아이들을 잡아먹어 사람의 그림자조차 비치지 않게 되고 온 지방이 쑥밭이 된다고 하자.
  1. in order that the house of Israel may no longer stray from Me and no longer defile themselves with all their transgressions Thus they will be My people, and I shall be their God,"' declares the Lord GOD."
  2. Then the word of the LORD came to me saying,
  3. "Son of man, if a country sins against Me by committing unfaithfulness, and I stretch out My hand against it, destroy its supply of bread, send famine against it and cut off from it both man and beast,
  4. even though these three men, Noah, Daniel and Job were in its midst, by their own righteousness they could only deliver themselves," declares the Lord GOD.
  5. "If I were to cause wild beasts to pass through the land and they depopulated it, and it became desolate so that no one would pass through it because of the beasts,
  1. 거기에 그 세 사람이 있다고 해도 자기들의 목숨이나 겨우 건질 수 있을 뿐 아들딸의 목숨도 건지지 못한 채 온 땅은 쑥밭이 되고 말리라. 반드시 그렇게 되고야 만다. 주 야훼가 하는 말이다.
  2. 또 내가 그 나라에 적군을 끌어들여, 그들이 돌아다니며 사람과 짐승을 칼로 무찔러버린다고 하자.
  3. 거기에 그 세 사람이 있다고 해도 자기들의 목숨이나 겨우 건질 수 있을 뿐 아들딸의 목숨도 건지지 못할 것이다. 반드시 그렇게 되고야 만다. 주 야훼가 하는 말이다.
  4. 또 내가 그 나라에 염병을 퍼뜨린다고 하자. 또 울화를 터뜨려 유혈 참극을 벌이고 사람과 짐승을 모두 전멸시킨다고 하자,
  5. 거기에 노아나 다넬이나 욥이 있다고 해도 별 수 없으리라. 옳게 산 덕분에 제 목숨이나 겨우 건질 수 있을 뿐 아들딸 하나 건지지 못하리라. 반드시 그렇게 되고야 만다. 주 야훼가 하는 말이다.
  1. though these three men were in its midst, as I live," declares the Lord GOD, "they could not deliver either their sons or their daughters. They alone would be delivered, but the country would be desolate.
  2. "Or if I should bring a sword on that country and say, 'Let the sword pass through the country and cut off man and beast from it,'
  3. even though these three men were in its midst, as I live," declares the Lord GOD, "they could not deliver either their sons or their daughters, but they alone would be delivered.
  4. "Or if I should send a plague against that country and pour out My wrath in blood on it to cut off man and beast from it,
  5. even though Noah, Daniel and Job were in its midst, as I live," declares the Lord GOD, "they could not deliver either their son or their daughter. They would deliver only themselves by their righteousness."
  1. 주 야훼가 말한다. 내가 예루살렘에 적군을 끌어들이고 기근이 들게 하고 맹수가 들끓고 염병이 퍼지게 하리라. 이렇게 네 가지 재앙으로 예루살렘을 벌하여 사람과 짐승을 없앨 때,
  2. 그 안에서 죽지 않고 살아 남았다가 아들딸을 끌고 나올 사람이 있어 너희에게 오면, 너희는 내가 그의 고약한 행실을 보고 재앙을 내려 예루살렘을 멸망시킨 일이 차라리 잘된 일이라고 생각하게 될 것이다.
  3. 그들의 고약한 행실을 보고야 너희는 차라리 잘되었다고 생각하게 될 것이다. 그제야 너희는 내가 예루살렘을 친 일이 공연한 일이 아니었음을 알게 될 것이다. 주 야훼가 하는 말이다."
  1. For thus says the Lord GOD, "How much more when I send My four severe judgments against Jerusalem: sword, famine, wild beasts and plague to cut off man and beast from it!
  2. "Yet, behold, survivors will be left in it who will be brought out, both sons and daughters. Behold, they are going to come forth to you and you will see their conduct and actions; then you will be comforted for the calamity which I have brought against Jerusalem for everything which I have brought upon it.
  3. "Then they will comfort you when you see their conduct and actions, for you will know that I have not done in vain whatever I did to it," declares the Lord GOD.
 
  열매 없는 포도나무 비유(15:1-15:8)    
 
  1. 야훼께서 나에게 이런 말씀을 내리셨다.
  2. "너 사람아, 포도덩굴이 무엇이냐? 숲 속에 얽힌 덩굴과 다를 게 무엇이냐?
  3. 거기에서 가구를 만들 재목이 나겠느냐? 무엇을 걸어둘 못을 만들겠느냐?
  4. 보아라, 땔감으로 불에 들어간다. 양쪽 끝은 타고 가운데는 그을었는데, 그것을 무엇에 쓰겠느냐?
  5. 옹근 대로 있어도 쓸모가 없을 터인데, 하물며 불에 타 그을은 것을 어디에다 쓰겠느냐!
  1. Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
  2. "Son of man, how is the wood of the vine better than any wood of a branch which is among the trees of the forest?
  3. "Can wood be taken from it to make anything, or can men take a peg from it on which to hang any vessel?
  4. "If it has been put into the fire for fuel, and the fire has consumed both of its ends and its middle part has been charred, is it then useful for anything?
  5. "Behold, while it is intact, it is not made into anything. How much less, when the fire has consumed it and it is charred, can it still be made into anything!
  1. 주 야훼가 말한다. 숲 속에서 자란 포도덩굴을 땔감으로 불에 집어넣듯 예루살렘에 사는 자들을 나는 불에 집어넣으리라.
  2. 불에서 빠져 나오다가도 내가 화가 나서 노려보면 불에 타 죽고 말리라. 내가 화가 나서 노려보리니, 그제야 너희는 내가 야훼임을 알리라.
  3. 나를 배신하였으니 내가 그 땅을 쑥밭으로 만들리라. 주 야훼가 하는 말이다."
  1. "Therefore, thus says the Lord GOD, 'As the wood of the vine among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so have I given up the inhabitants of Jerusalem;
  2. and I set My face against them Though they have come out of the fire, yet the fire will consume them. Then you will know that I am the LORD, when I set My face against them.
  3. 'Thus I will make the land desolate, because they have acted unfaithfully,'" declares the Lord GOD.
 
  유다에 대한 하나님의 사랑(16:1-16:22)    
 
  1. 야훼께서 나에게 말씀을 내리셨다.
  2. "너 사람아, 예루살렘 사람들에게 예루살렘에서 일어나는 온갖 역겨운 짓들을 깨우쳐주어라.
  3. 예루살렘에 사는 사람들에게 이렇게 전하여라. '주 야훼가 말한다. 네 족보를 캐어보면 너는 가나안 출신이라, 네 아비는 아모리인이요 어미는 헷 여인이다.
  4. 네가 나던 일을 말하자면, 네가 세상에 떨어지던 날 탯줄을 잘라줄 사람도 없었고 목욕시켜 줄 사람도 없었으며 소금으로 문질러줄 사람도 없었고 포대기에 싸줄 사람도 없었다.
  5. 너를 애처롭게 보아 이런 친절을 베풀어줄 사람이 없었다. 아무도 가엾게 여기지 않았다. 그래서 세상에 떨어지던 날, 너는 들에 내버린 개구멍받이 신세였다.
  1. Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
  2. "Son of man, make known to Jerusalem her abominations
  3. and say, 'Thus says the Lord GOD to Jerusalem, "Your origin and your birth are from the land of the Canaanite, your father was an Amorite and your mother a Hittite.
  4. "As for your birth, on the day you were born your navel cord was not cut, nor were you washed with water for cleansing; you were not rubbed with salt or even wrapped in cloths.
  5. "No eye looked with pity on you to do any of these things for you, to have compassion on you. Rather you were thrown out into the open field, for you were abhorred on the day you were born.
  1. 내가 지나가다가 피투성이로 발버둥치는 너를 보고, 핏덩어리야 살아라,
  2. 들풀처럼 자라나거라 하였더니, 너는 자라고 커서 시집갈 나이가 되었다. 너는 젖가슴이 부풀고 거웃도 자랐는데 알몸을 드러내 놓고 있었다.
  3. 나는 지나가다가 네가 꽃다운 한창 나이가 된 것을 보고 내 겉옷 자락을 펴서 너의 맨몸을 감싸주었다. 나는 맹세하고 너와 약혼한 사이가 되었다. 주 야훼가 하는 말이다. 너는 내 사람이 되었다.
  4. 나는 너를 목욕시키고 너에게 묻은 피를 닦아주고 기름을 발라주었다.
  5. 수놓은 옷을 입혀주고 고래 가죽으로 만든 신을 신겨주고 아마포 띠를 띠어주었으며 비단 겉옷을 입혀주었다.
  1. "When I passed by you and saw you squirming in your blood, I said to you while you were in your blood, 'Live!' Yes, I said to you while you were in your blood, 'Live!'
  2. "I made you numerous like plants of the field. Then you grew up, became tall and reached the age for fine ornaments; your breasts were formed and your hair had grown. Yet you were naked and bare.
  3. "Then I passed by you and saw you, and behold, you were at the time for love; so I spread My skirt over you and covered your nakedness I also swore to you and entered into a covenant with you so that you became Mine," declares the Lord GOD.
  4. "Then I bathed you with water, washed off your blood from you and anointed you with oil.
  5. "I also clothed you with embroidered cloth and put sandals of porpoise skin on your feet; and I wrapped you with fine linen and covered you with silk.
  1. 너를 보석으로 단장하고 팔에는 팔찌를, 목에는 목걸이를 걸어주었다.
  2. 코에는 코고리를, 두 귀에는 귀고리를 달아주었고 머리에는 아름다운 족두리를 씌워주었다.
  3. 이렇게 너는 금은 패물로 단장하고 모시옷에, 비단옷에, 수놓은 옷을 입고 고운 밀가루 음식과 꿀과 기름을 먹게 되었다. 너는 점점 아름다워져 마침내 왕비의 자리에까지 올랐다.
  4. 내가 너에게 입혀준 영화는 한점 티없이 아름다웠으므로 네 명성은 만방에 떨쳤다. 주 야훼가 하는 말이다.
  5. 그런데 너는 네 아름다움을 믿고 명성을 미끼로 삼아 몸을 팔았다. 지나가는 아무에게나 몸을 내맡겨 마구 놀아났다.
  1. "I adorned you with ornaments, put bracelets on your hands and a necklace around your neck.
  2. "I also put a ring in your nostril, earrings in your ears and a beautiful crown on your head.
  3. "Thus you were adorned with gold and silver, and your dress was of fine linen, silk and embroidered cloth You ate fine flour, honey and oil; so you were exceedingly beautiful and advanced to royalty.
  4. "Then your fame went forth among the nations on account of your beauty, for it was perfect because of My splendor which I bestowed on you," declares the Lord GOD.
  5. "But you trusted in your beauty and played the harlot because of your fame, and you poured out your harlotries on every passer-by who might be willing.
  1. 네 옷을 가져다가 산당 언덕에 색색으로 펴놓고 그 위에서 몸을 팔았다. 몸을 내맡겨 놀아났다.
  2. 또 내가 몸을 장식하라고 준 금은 패물을 가져다가 사내의 형상들을 만들어놓고는 몸을 팔았다.
  3. 수놓은 옷을 가져다가 그 형상들에 입히고 나에게 바칠 기름과 향을 그들에게 바쳤다.
  4. 내가 너에게 준 빵뿐 아니라 너에게 먹으라고 준 고운 밀가루와 기름과 꿀을 살라 그들 앞에서 향기를 피웠다. 주 야훼가 하는 말이다.
  5. 또 네가 나에게 낳아준 아들딸마저 끌어다가 그 형상들에게 제물로 잡아 바쳤다. 네 몸을 파는 것만으로는 만족스럽지 못하더냐?
  1. "You took some of your clothes, made for yourself high places of various colors and played the harlot on them, which should never come about nor happen.
  2. "You also took your beautiful jewels made of My gold and of My silver, which I had given you, and made for yourself male images that you might play the harlot with them.
  3. "Then you took your embroidered cloth and covered them, and offered My oil and My incense before them.
  4. "Also My bread which I gave you, fine flour, oil and honey with which I fed you, you would offer before them for a soothing aroma; so it happened," declares the Lord GOD.
  5. "Moreover, you took your sons and daughters whom you had borne to Me and sacrificed them to idols to be devoured. Were your harlotries so small a matter?
  1. 너는 나의 아들들을 잡아 불에 살라 바쳤다.
  2. 너는 이렇듯이 보기에도 역겨운 짓들을 하였다. 너는 어렸을 때 알몸을 드러내고 피투성이로 발버둥이치던 일을 잊어버리고 몸을 팔았다.
  1. "You slaughtered My children and offered them up to idols by causing them to pass through the fire.
  2. "Besides all your abominations and harlotries you did not remember the days of your youth, when you were naked and bare and squirming in your blood.
 
  감계(鑑戒, 14:8)  본래 ‘징조, 징표’라는 뜻. 여기서는 ‘본보기’라는 의미  
  적신(赤身, 16:7)  옷을 입지 않은 알몸
