- 네 형제가 죄를 범하거든 가서 너와 그 사람과만 상대하여 권고하라 만일 들으면 네가 네 형제를 얻은 것이요
- 만일 듣지 않거든 한두 사람을 데리고 가서 두세 증인의 입으로 말마다 확증하게 하라
- 만일 그들의 말도 듣지 않거든 교회에 말하고 교회의 말도 듣지 않거든 이방인과 세리와 같이 여기라
- 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 무엇이든지 너희가 땅에서 매면 하늘에서도 매일 것이요 무엇이든지 땅에서 풀면 하늘에서도 풀리리라
- 진실로 다시 너희에게 이르노니 너희 중의 두 사람이 땅에서 합심하여 무엇이든지 구하면 하늘에 계신 내 아버지께서 그들을 위하여 이루게 하시리라

- "If your brother sins against you, go and show him his fault, just between the two of you. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over.
- But if he will not listen, take one or two others along, so that 'every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.'
- If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, treat him as you would a pagan or a tax collector.
- "I tell you the truth, whatever you bind on earth will bebound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.
- "Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven.

- 두세 사람이 내 이름으로 모인 곳에는 나도 그들 중에 있느니라
- 그 때에 베드로가 나아와 이르되 주여 형제가 내게 죄를 범하면 몇 번이나 용서하여 주리이까 일곱 번까지 하오리이까
- 예수께서 이르시되 네게 이르노니 일곱 번뿐 아니라 일곱 번을 일흔 번까지라도 할지니라

- For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them."
- Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, "Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times?"
- Jesus answered, "I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.
