욥기 20:1-22:30

 소발은 잔인하기 짝이 없는 비유까지 서슴지 않고 하면서 욥에게 회개를 강조하였다. 이에 대하여 욥은 가만히 있을 수 없어서 악인의 형통함에 관하여 역설하였다. 엘리바스는 욥의 죄악이 크다고 책망하였다. 그러나 훗날에 그는 위로자의 자세로 돌아가 회개하여 불의를 버리면 하나님께서 다시 욥의 기도를 들어주실 것이라고 권면하였다.
  
  소발의 두번째 충고(20:1-20:29)    
 
  1. 나아마 사람 소발이 대답하여 이르되
  2. 그러므로 내 초조한 마음이 나로 하여금 대답하게 하나니 이는 내 중심이 조급함이니라
  3. 내가 나를 부끄럽게 하는 책망을 들었으므로 나의 슬기로운 마음이 나로 하여금 대답하게 하는구나
  4. 네가 알지 못하느냐 예로부터 사람이 이 세상에 생긴 때로부터
  5. 악인이 이긴다는 자랑도 잠시요 경건하지 못한 자의 즐거움도 잠깐이니라
  1. Then Zophar the Naamathite replied:
  2. "My troubled thoughts prompt me to answer because I am greatly disturbed.
  3. I hear a rebuke that dishonors me, and my understanding inspires me to reply.
  4. "Surely you know how it has been from of old, ever since man was placed on the earth,
  5. that the mirth of the wicked is brief, the joy of the godless lasts but a moment.
  1. 그 존귀함이 하늘에 닿고 그 머리가 구름에 미칠지라도
  2. 자기의 똥처럼 영원히 망할 것이라 그를 본 자가 이르기를 그가 어디 있느냐 하리라
  3. 그는 꿈 같이 지나가니 다시 찾을 수 없을 것이요 밤에 보이는 환상처럼 사라지리라
  4. 그를 본 눈이 다시 그를 보지 못할 것이요 그의 처소도 다시 그를 보지 못할 것이며
  5. 그의 아들들은 가난한 자에게 은혜를 구하겠고 그도 얻은 재물을 자기 손으로 도로 줄 것이며
  1. Though his pride reaches to the heavens and his head touches the clouds,
  2. he will perish forever, like his own dung; those who have seen him will say, 'Where is he?'
  3. Like a dream he flies away, no more to be found, banished like a vision of the night.
  4. The eye that saw him will not see him again; his place will look on him no more.
  5. His children must make amends to the poor; his own hands must give back his wealth.
  1. 그의 기골이 청년 같이 강장하나 그 기세가 그와 함께 흙에 누우리라
  2. 그는 비록 악을 달게 여겨 혀 밑에 감추며
  3. 아껴서 버리지 아니하고 입천장에 물고 있을지라도
  4. 그의 음식이 창자 속에서 변하며 뱃속에서 독사의 쓸개가 되느니라
  5. 그가 재물을 삼켰을지라도 토할 것은 하나님이 그의 배에서 도로 나오게 하심이니
  1. The youthful vigor that fills his bones will lie with him in the dust.
  2. "Though evil is sweet in his mouth and he hides it under his tongue,
  3. though he cannot bear to let it go and keeps it in his mouth,
  4. yet his food will turn sour in his stomach; it will become the venom of serpents within him.
  5. He will spit out the riches he swallowed; God will make his stomach vomit them up.
  1. 그는 독사의 독을 빨며 뱀의 혀에 죽을 것이라
  2. 그는 강 곧 꿀과 엉긴 젖이 흐르는 강을 보지 못할 것이요
  3. 수고하여 얻은 것을 삼키지 못하고 돌려 주며 매매하여 얻은 재물로 즐거움을 삼지 못하리니
  4. 이는 그가 가난한 자를 학대하고 버렸음이요 자기가 세우지 않은 집을 빼앗음이니라
  5. 그는 마음에 평안을 알지 못하니 그가 기뻐하는 것을 하나도 보존하지 못하겠고
  1. He will suck the poison of serpents; the fangs of an adder will kill him.
  2. He will not enjoy the streams, the rivers flowing with honey and cream.
  3. What he toiled for he must give back uneaten; he will not enjoy the profit from his trading.
  4. For he has oppressed the poor and left them destitute; he has seized houses he did not build.
  5. "Surely he will have no respite from his craving; he cannot save himself by his treasure.
  1. 남기는 것이 없이 모두 먹으니 그런즉 그 행복이 오래 가지 못할 것이라
  2. 풍족할 때에도 괴로움이 이르리니 모든 재난을 주는 자의 손이 그에게 임하리라
  3. 그가 배를 불리려 할 때에 하나님이 맹렬한 진노를 내리시리니 음식을 먹을 때에 그의 위에 비 같이 쏟으시리라
  4. 그가 철 병기를 피할 때에는 놋화살을 쏘아 꿰뚫을 것이요
  5. 몸에서 그의 화살을 빼낸즉 번쩍번쩍하는 촉이 그의 쓸개에서 나오고 큰 두려움이 그에게 닥치느니라
  1. Nothing is left for him to devour; his prosperity will not endure.
  2. In the midst of his plenty, distress will overtake him; the full force of misery will come upon him.
  3. When he has filled his belly, God will vent his burning anger against him and rain down his blows upon him.
  4. Though he flees from an iron weapon, a bronze-tipped arrow pierces him.
  5. He pulls it out of his back, the gleaming point out of his liver. Terrors will come over him;
  1. 큰 어둠이 그를 위하여 예비되어 있고 사람이 피우지 않은 불이 그를 멸하며 그 장막에 남은 것을 해치리라
  2. 하늘이 그의 죄악을 드러낼 것이요 땅이 그를 대항하여 일어날 것인즉
  3. 그의 가산이 떠나가며 하나님의 진노의 날에 끌려가리라
  4. 이는 악인이 하나님께 받을 분깃이요 하나님이 그에게 정하신 기업이니라
  1. total darkness lies in wait for his treasures. A fire unfanned will consume him and devour what is left in his tent.
  2. The heavens will expose his guilt; the earth will rise up against him.
  3. A flood will carry off his house, rushing waters on the day of God's wrath.
  4. Such is the fate God allots the wicked, the heritage appointed for them by God."
 
  욥의 변증(21:1-21:34)    
 
  1. 욥이 대답하여 이르되
  2. 너희는 내 말을 자세히 들으라 이것이 너희의 위로가 될 것이니라
  3. 나를 용납하여 말하게 하라 내가 말한 후에 너희가 조롱할지니라
  4. 나의 원망이 사람을 향하여 하는 것이냐 내 마음이 어찌 조급하지 아니하겠느냐
  5. 너희가 나를 보면 놀라리라 손으로 입을 가리리라
  1. Then Job replied:
  2. "Listen carefully to my words; let this be the consolation you give me.
  3. Bear with me while I speak, and after I have spoken, mock on.
  4. "Is my complaint directed to man? Why should I not be impatient?
  5. Look at me and be astonished; clap your hand over your mouth.
  1. 내가 기억하기만 하여도 불안하고 두려움이 내 몸을 잡는구나
  2. 어찌하여 악인이 생존하고 장수하며 세력이 강하냐
  3. 그들의 후손이 앞에서 그들과 함께 굳게 서고 자손이 그들의 목전에서 그러하구나
  4. 그들의 집이 평안하여 두려움이 없고 하나님의 매가 그들 위에 임하지 아니하며
  5. 그들의 수소는 새끼를 배고 그들의 암소는 낙태하는 일이 없이 새끼를 낳는구나
  1. When I think about this, I am terrified; trembling seizes my body.
  2. Why do the wicked live on, growing old and increasing in power?
  3. They see their children established around them, their offspring before their eyes.
  4. Their homes are safe and free from fear; the rod of God is not upon them.
  5. Their bulls never fail to breed; their cows calve and do not miscarry.
  1. 그들은 아이들을 양 떼 같이 내보내고 그들의 자녀들은 춤추는구나
  2. 그들은 소고와 수금으로 노래하고 피리 불어 즐기며
  3. 그들의 날을 행복하게 지내다가 잠깐 사이에 스올에 내려가느니라
  4. 그러할지라도 그들은 하나님께 말하기를 우리를 떠나소서 우리가 주의 도리 알기를 바라지 아니하나이다
  5. 전능자가 누구이기에 우리가 섬기며 우리가 그에게 기도한들 무슨 소용이 있으랴 하는구나
  1. They send forth their children as a flock; their little ones dance about.
  2. They sing to the music of tambourine and harp; they make merry to the sound of the flute.
  3. They spend their years in prosperity and go down to the grave in peace.
  4. Yet they say to God, 'Leave us alone! We have no desire to know your ways.
  5. Who is the Almighty, that we should serve him? What would we gain by praying to him?'
  1. 그러나 그들의 행복이 그들의 손 안에 있지 아니하니 악인의 계획은 나에게서 멀구나
  2. 악인의 등불이 꺼짐과 재앙이 그들에게 닥침과 하나님이 진노하사 그들을 곤고하게 하심이 몇 번인가
  3. 그들이 바람 앞에 검불 같이, 폭풍에 날려가는 겨 같이 되었도다
  4. 하나님은 그의 죄악을 그의 자손들을 위하여 쌓아 두시며 그에게 갚으실 것을 알게 하시기를 원하노라
  5. 자기의 멸망을 자기의 눈으로 보게 하며 전능자의 진노를 마시게 할 것이니라
  1. But their prosperity is not in their own hands, so I stand aloof from the counsel of the wicked.
  2. "Yet how often is the lamp of the wicked snuffed out? How often does calamity come upon them, the fate God allots in his anger?
  3. How often are they like straw before the wind, like chaff swept away by a gale?
  4. It is said, 'God stores up a man's punishment for his sons.' Let him repay the man himself, so that he will know it!
  5. Let his own eyes see his destruction; let him drink of the wrath of the Almighty.
  1. 그의 달 수가 다하면 자기 집에 대하여 무슨 관계가 있겠느냐
  2. 그러나 하나님께서는 높은 자들을 심판하시나니 누가 능히 하나님께 지식을 가르치겠느냐
  3. 어떤 사람은 죽도록 기운이 충실하여 안전하며 평안하고
  4. 그의 그릇에는 젖이 가득하며 그의 골수는 윤택하고
  5. 어떤 사람은 마음에 고통을 품고 죽으므로 행복을 맛보지 못하는도다
  1. For what does he care about the family he leaves behind when his allotted months come to an end?
  2. "Can anyone teach knowledge to God, since he judges even the highest?
  3. One man dies in full vigor, completely secure and at ease,
  4. his body well nourished, his bones rich with marrow.
  5. Another man dies in bitterness of soul, never having enjoyed anything good.
  1. 이 둘이 매 한 가지로 흙 속에 눕고 그들 위에 구더기가 덮이는구나
  2. 내가 너희의 생각을 알고 너희가 나를 해하려는 속셈도 아노라
  3. 너희의 말이 귀인의 집이 어디 있으며 악인이 살던 장막이 어디 있느냐 하는구나
  4. 너희가 길 가는 사람들에게 묻지 아니하였느냐 그들의 증거를 알지 못하느냐
  5. 악인은 재난의 날을 위하여 남겨둔 바 되었고 진노의 날을 향하여 끌려가느니라
  1. Side by side they lie in the dust, and worms cover them both.
  2. "I know full well what you are thinking, the schemes by which you would wrong me.
  3. You say, 'Where now is the great man's house, the tents where wicked men lived?'
  4. Have you never questioned those who travel? Have you paid no regard to their accounts-
  5. that the evil man is spared from the day of calamity, that he is delivered from the day of wrath?
  1. 누가 능히 그의 면전에서 그의 길을 알려 주며 누가 그의 소행을 보응하랴
  2. 그를 무덤으로 메어 가고 사람이 그 무덤을 지키리라
  3. 그는 골짜기의 흙덩이를 달게 여기리니 많은 사람들이 그보다 앞서 갔으며 모든 사람이 그의 뒤에 줄지었느니라
  4. 그런데도 너희는 나를 헛되이 위로하려느냐 너희 대답은 거짓일 뿐이니라
  1. Who denounces his conduct to his face? Who repays him for what he has done?
  2. He is carried to the grave, and watch is kept over his tomb.
  3. The soil in the valley is sweet to him; all men follow after him, and a countless throng goes before him.
  4. "So how can you console me with your nonsense? Nothing is left of your answers but falsehood!"
 
  엘리바스의 세번째 충고(22:1-22:30)    
 
  1. 데만 사람 엘리바스가 대답하여 이르되
  2. 사람이 어찌 하나님께 유익하게 하겠느냐 지혜로운 자도 자기에게 유익할 따름이니라
  3. 네가 의로운들 전능자에게 무슨 기쁨이 있겠으며 네 행위가 온전한들 그에게 무슨 이익이 되겠느냐
  4. 하나님이 너를 책망하시며 너를 심문하심이 너의 경건함 때문이냐
  5. 네 악이 크지 아니하냐 네 죄악이 끝이 없느니라
  1. Then Eliphaz the Temanite replied:
  2. "Can a man be of benefit to God? Can even a wise man benefit him?
  3. What pleasure would it give the Almighty if you were righteous? What would he gain if your ways were blameless?
  4. "Is it for your piety that he rebukes you and brings charges against you?
  5. Is not your wickedness great? Are not your sins endless?
  1. 까닭 없이 형제를 볼모로 잡으며 헐벗은 자의 의복을 벗기며
  2. 목마른 자에게 물을 마시게 하지 아니하며 주린 자에게 음식을 주지 아니하였구나
  3. 권세 있는 자는 토지를 얻고 존귀한 자는 거기에서 사는구나
  4. 너는 과부를 빈손으로 돌려보내며 고아의 팔을 꺾는구나
  5. 그러므로 올무들이 너를 둘러 있고 두려움이 갑자기 너를 엄습하며
  1. You demanded security from your brothers for no reason; you stripped men of their clothing, leaving them naked.
  2. You gave no water to the weary and you withheld food from the hungry,
  3. though you were a powerful man, owning land-- an honored man, living on it.
  4. And you sent widows away empty-handed and broke the strength of the fatherless.
  5. That is why snares are all around you, why sudden peril terrifies you,
  1. 어둠이 너로 하여금 보지 못하게 하고 홍수가 너를 덮느니라
  2. 하나님은 높은 하늘에 계시지 아니하냐 보라 우두머리 별이 얼마나 높은가
  3. 그러나 네 말은 하나님이 무엇을 아시며 흑암 중에서 어찌 심판하실 수 있으랴
  4. 빽빽한 구름이 그를 가린즉 그가 보지 못하시고 둥근 하늘을 거니실 뿐이라 하는구나
  5. 네가 악인이 밟던 옛적 길을 지키려느냐
  1. why it is so dark you cannot see, and why a flood of water covers you.
  2. "Is not God in the heights of heaven? And see how lofty are the highest stars!
  3. Yet you say, 'What does God know? Does he judge through such darkness?
  4. Thick clouds veil him, so he does not see us as he goes about in the vaulted heavens.'
  5. Will you keep to the old path that evil men have trod?
  1. 그들은 때가 이르기 전에 끊겨 버렸고 그들의 터는 강물로 말미암아 함몰되었느니라
  2. 그들이 하나님께 말하기를 우리를 떠나소서 하며 또 말하기를 전능자가 우리를 위하여 무엇을 하실 수 있으랴 하였으나
  3. 하나님이 좋은 것으로 그들의 집에 채우셨느니라 악인의 계획은 나에게서 머니라
  4. 의인은 보고 기뻐하고 죄 없는 자는 그들을 비웃기를
  5. 우리의 원수가 망하였고 그들의 남은 것을 불이 삼켰느니라 하리라
  1. They were carried off before their time, their foundations washed away by a flood.
  2. They said to God, 'Leave us alone! What can the Almighty do to us?'
  3. Yet it was he who filled their houses with good things, so I stand aloof from the counsel of the wicked.
  4. "The righteous see their ruin and rejoice; the innocent mock them, saying,
  5. 'Surely our foes are destroyed, and fire devours their wealth.'
  1. 너는 하나님과 화목하고 평안하라 그리하면 복이 네게 임하리라
  2. 청하건대 너는 하나님의 입에서 교훈을 받고 하나님의 말씀을 네 마음에 두라
  3. 네가 만일 전능자에게로 돌아가면 네가 지음을 받을 것이며 또 네 장막에서 불의를 멀리 하리라
  4. 네 보화를 티끌로 여기고 오빌의 금을 계곡의 돌로 여기라
  5. 그리하면 전능자가 네 보화가 되시며 네게 고귀한 은이 되시리니
  1. "Submit to God and be at peace with him; in this way prosperity will come to you.
  2. Accept instruction from his mouth and lay up his words in your heart.
  3. If you return to the Almighty, you will be restored: If you remove wickedness far from your tent
  4. and assign your nuggets to the dust, your gold of Ophir to the rocks in the ravines,
  5. then the Almighty will be your gold, the choicest silver for you.
  1. 이에 네가 전능자를 기뻐하여 하나님께로 얼굴을 들 것이라
  2. 너는 그에게 기도하겠고 그는 들으실 것이며 너의 서원을 네가 갚으리라
  3. 네가 무엇을 결정하면 이루어질 것이요 네 길에 빛이 비치리라
  4. 사람들이 너를 낮추거든 너는 교만했노라고 말하라 하나님은 겸손한 자를 구원하시리라
  5. 죄 없는 자가 아니라도 건지시리니 네 손이 깨끗함으로 말미암아 건지심을 받으리라
  1. Surely then you will find delight in the Almighty and will lift up your face to God.
  2. You will pray to him, and he will hear you, and you will fulfill your vows.
  3. What you decide on will be done, and light will shine on your ways.
  4. When men are brought low and you say, 'Lift them up!' then he will save the downcast.
  5. He will deliver even one who is not innocent, who will be delivered through the cleanness of your hands."
