- 뭇 백성들아 이를 들으라 세상의 거민들아 모두 귀를 기울이라
- 귀천 빈부를 막론하고 다 들을지어다
- 내 입은 지혜를 말하겠고 내 마음은 명철을 작은 소리로 읊조리리로다
- 내가 비유에 내 귀를 기울이고 수금으로 나의 오묘한 말을 풀리로다
- 죄악이 나를 따라다니며 나를 에워싸는 환난의 날을 내가 어찌 두려워하랴

- Hear this, all ye people; give ear, all ye inhabitants of the world:
- Both low and high, rich and poor, together.
- My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding.
- I will incline mine ear to a parable: I will open my dark saying upon the harp.
- Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity of my heels shall compass me about?

- 자기의 재물을 의지하고 부유함을 자랑하는 자는
- 아무도 자기의 형제를 구원하지 못하며 그를 위한 속전을 하나님께 바치지도 못할 것은
- 그들의 생명을 속량하는 값이 너무 엄청나서 영원히 마련하지 못할 것임이니라
- 그가 영원히 살아서 죽음을 보지 않을 것인가
- 그러나 그는 지혜 있는 자도 죽고 어리석고 무지한 자도 함께 망하며 그들의 재물은 남에게 남겨 두고 떠나는 것을 보게 되리로다

- They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches;
- None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:
- (For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth for ever:)
- That he should still live for ever, and not see corruption.
- For he seeth that wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others.

- 그러나 그들의 속 생각에 그들의 집은 영원히 있고 그들의 거처는 대대에 이르리라 하여 그들의 토지를 자기 이름으로 부르도다
- 사람은 존귀하나 장구하지 못함이여 멸망하는 짐승 같도다

- Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue for ever, and their dwelling places to all generations; they call their lands after their own names.
- Nevertheless man being in honour abideth not: he is like the beasts that perish.
