여호수아 21:27-22:34

 게르손과 므라리 자손이 얻은 성읍들이 기록되어 있다. 정복 전쟁이 그치고 영토 분배가 종료되자 여호수아는 요단 동편 지파들에게 귀향을 명령했다. 자기의 기업으로 돌아가던 르우벤, 갓, 므낫세 반 지파의 사람들이 요단 강변에 큰 단을 쌓았다. 우상 숭배를 위해 단을 세운 것으로 오해한 이스라엘 백성들은 크게 분노했지만 그들의 해명을 듣고 오해를 풀었다.
  
  게르손·므라리의 성읍(21:27-21:45)    
 
  1. 레위 가족의 게르손 자손에게는 므낫세 반 지파 중에서 살인자의 도피성 바산 골란과 그 목초지를 주었고 또 브에스드라와 그 목초지를 주었으니 두 성읍이요
  2. 잇사갈 지파 중에서는 기시온과 그 목초지와 다브랏과 그 목초지와
  3. 야르뭇과 그 목초지와 엔 간님과 그 목초지를 주었으니 네 성읍이요
  4. 아셀 지파 중에서는 미살과 그 목초지와 압돈과 그 목초지와
  5. 헬갓과 그 목초지와 르홉과 그 목초지를 주었으니 네 성읍이요
  1. And unto the children of Gershon, of the families of the Levites, out of the other half tribe of Manasseh they gave Golan in Bashan with her suburbs, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Beeshterah with her suburbs; two cities.
  2. And out of the tribe of Issachar, Kishon with her suburbs, Dabareh with her suburbs,
  3. Jarmuth with her suburbs, Engannim with her suburbs; four cities.
  4. And out of the tribe of Asher, Mishal with her suburbs, Abdon with her suburbs,
  5. Helkath with her suburbs, and Rehob with her suburbs; four cities.
  1. 납달리 지파 중에서는 살인자의 도피성 갈릴리 게데스와 그 목초지를 주었고 또 함못 돌과 그 목초지와 가르단과 그 목초지를 주었으니 세 성읍이라
  2. 게르손 사람이 그 가족대로 받은 성읍은 모두 열세 성읍과 그 목초지들이었더라
  3. 그 남은 레위 사람 므라리 자손의 가족들에게 준 것은 스불론 지파 중에서 욕느암과 그 목초지와 가르다와 그 목초지와
  4. 딤나와 그 목초지와 나할랄과 그 목초지이니 네 성읍이요
  5. 르우벤 지파 중에서 준 것은 베셀과 그 목초지와 야하스와 그 목초지와
  1. And out of the tribe of Naphtali, Kedesh in Galilee with her suburbs, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Hammothdor with her suburbs, and Kartan with her suburbs; three cities.
  2. All the cities of the Gershonites according to their families were thirteen cities with their suburbs.
  3. And unto the families of the children of Merari, the rest of the Levites, out of the tribe of Zebulun, Jokneam with her suburbs, and Kartah with her suburbs,
  4. Dimnah with her suburbs, Nahalal with her suburbs; four cities.
  5. And out of the tribe of Reuben, Bezer with her suburbs, and Jahazah with her suburbs,
  1. 그데못과 그 목초지와 므바앗과 그 목초지이니 네 성읍이요
  2. 갓 지파 중에서 준 것은 살인자의 도피성 길르앗 라못과 그 목초지이요 또 마하나임과 그 목초지와
  3. 헤스본과 그 목초지와 야셀과 그 목초지이니 모두 네 성읍이라
  4. 이는 레위 가족의 남은 자 곧 므라리 자손이 그들의 가족대로 받은 성읍이니 그들이 제비 뽑아 얻은 성읍이 열두 성읍이었더라
  5. 레위 사람들이 이스라엘 자손의 기업 중에서 받은 성읍은 모두 마흔여덟 성읍이요 또 그 목초지들이라
  1. Kedemoth with her suburbs, and Mephaath with her suburbs; four cities.
  2. And out of the tribe of Gad, Ramoth in Gilead with her suburbs, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Mahanaim with her suburbs,
  3. Heshbon with her suburbs, Jazer with her suburbs; four cities in all.
  4. So all the cities for the children of Merari by their families, which were remaining of the families of the Levites, were by their lot twelve cities.
  5. All the cities of the Levites within the possession of the children of Israel were forty and eight cities with their suburbs.
  1. 이 각 성읍의 주위에 목초지가 있었고 모든 성읍이 다 그러하였더라
  2. 여호와께서 이스라엘의 조상들에게 맹세하사 주리라 하신 온 땅을 이와 같이 이스라엘에게 다 주셨으므로 그들이 그것을 차지하여 거기에 거주하였으니
  3. 여호와께서 그들의 주위에 안식을 주셨으되 그 조상들에게 맹세하신 대로 하셨으므로 그들의 모든 원수들 중에 그들과 맞선 자가 하나도 없었으니 이는 여호와께서 그들의 모든 원수들을 그들의 손에 넘겨 주셨음이니라
  4. 여호와께서 이스라엘 족속에게 말씀하신 선한 말씀이 하나도 남음이 없이 다 응하였더라
  1. These cities were every one with their suburbs round about them: thus were all these cities.
  2. And the LORD gave unto Israel all the land which he sware to give unto their fathers; and they possessed it, and dwelt therein.
  3. And the LORD gave them rest round about, according to all that he sware unto their fathers: and there stood not a man of all their enemies before them; the LORD delivered all their enemies into their hand.
  4. There failed not ought of any good thing which the LORD had spoken unto the house of Israel; all came to pass.
 
  요단 동편 지파의 귀향(22:1-22:34)    
 
  1. 그 때에 여호수아가 르우벤 사람과 갓 사람과 므낫세 반 지파를 불러서
  2. 그들에게 이르되 여호와의 종 모세가 너희에게 명령한 것을 너희가 다 지키며 또 내가 너희에게 명령한 모든 일에 너희가 내 말을 순종하여
  3. 오늘까지 날이 오래도록 너희가 너희 형제를 떠나지 아니하고 오직 너희의 하나님 여호와께서 명령하신 그 책임을 지키도다
  4. 이제는 너희의 하나님 여호와께서 이미 말씀하신 대로 너희 형제에게 안식을 주셨으니 그런즉 이제 너희는 여호와의 종 모세가 요단 저쪽에서 너희에게 준 소유지로 가서 너희의 장막으로 돌아가되
  5. 오직 여호와의 종 모세가 너희에게 명령한 명령과 율법을 반드시 행하여 너희의 하나님 여호와를 사랑하고 그의 모든 길로 행하며 그의 계명을 지켜 그에게 친근히 하고 너희의 마음을 다하며 성품을 다하여 그를 섬길지니라 하고
  1. Then Joshua called the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh,
  2. And said unto them, Ye have kept all that Moses the servant of the LORD commanded you, and have obeyed my voice in all that I commanded you:
  3. Ye have not left your brethren these many days unto this day, but have kept the charge of the commandment of the LORD your God.
  4. And now the LORD your God hath given rest unto your brethren, as he promised them: therefore now return ye, and get you unto your tents, and unto the land of your possession, which Moses the servant of the LORD gave you on the other side Jordan.
  5. But take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law, which Moses the servant of the LORD charged you, to love the LORD your God, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to cleave unto him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.
  1. 여호수아가 그들에게 축복하여 보내매 그들이 자기 장막으로 갔더라
  2. 므낫세 반 지파에게는 모세가 바산에서 기업을 주었고 그 남은 반 지파에게는 여호수아가 요단 이쪽 서쪽에서 그들의 형제들과 함께 기업을 준지라 여호수아가 그들을 그들의 장막으로 돌려보낼 때에 그들에게 축복하고
  3. 말하여 이르되 너희는 많은 재산과 심히 많은 가축과 은과 금과 구리와 쇠와 심히 많은 의복을 가지고 너희의 장막으로 돌아가서 너희의 원수들에게서 탈취한 것을 너희의 형제와 나눌지니라 하매
  4. 르우벤 자손과 갓 자손과 므낫세 반 지파가 가나안 땅 실로에서 이스라엘 자손을 떠나 여호와께서 모세에게 명령하신 대로 받은 땅 곧 그들의 소유지 길르앗으로 가니라
  5. 르우벤 자손과 므낫세 반 지파가 가나안 땅 요단 언덕 가에 이르자 거기서 요단 가에 제단을 쌓았는데 보기에 큰 제단이었더라
  1. So Joshua blessed them, and sent them away: and they went unto their tents.
  2. Now to the one half of the tribe of Manasseh Moses had given possession in Bashan: but unto the other half thereof gave Joshua among their brethren on this side Jordan westward. And when Joshua sent them away also unto their tents, then he blessed them,
  3. And he spake unto them, saying, Return with much riches unto your tents, and with very much cattle, with silver, and with gold, and with brass, and with iron, and with very much raiment: divide the spoil of your enemies with your brethren.
  4. And the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half tribe of Manasseh returned, and departed from the children of Israel out of Shiloh, which is in the land of Canaan, to go unto the country of Gilead, to the land of their possession, whereof they were possessed, according to the word of the LORD by the hand of Moses.
  5. And when they came unto the borders of Jordan, that are in the land of Canaan, the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half tribe of Manasseh built there an altar by Jordan, a great altar to see to.
  1. 이스라엘 자손이 들은즉 이르기를 르우벤 자손과 갓 자손과 므낫세 반 지파가 가나안 땅의 맨 앞쪽 요단 언덕 가 이스라엘 자손에게 속한 쪽에 제단을 쌓았다 하는지라
  2. 이스라엘 자손이 이를 듣자 곧 이스라엘 자손의 온 회중이 실로에 모여서 그들과 싸우러 가려 하니라
  3. 이스라엘 자손이 제사장 엘르아살의 아들 비느하스를 길르앗 땅으로 보내어 르우벤 자손과 갓 자손과 므낫세 반 지파를 보게 하되
  4. 이스라엘 각 지파에서 한 지도자씩 열 지도자들을 그와 함께 하게 하니 그들은 각기 그들의 조상들의 가문의 수령으로서 이스라엘 중에서 천부장들이라
  5. 그들이 길르앗 땅에 이르러 르우벤 자손과 갓 자손과 므낫세 반 지파에게 나아가서 그들에게 말하여 이르되
  1. And the children of Israel heard say, Behold, the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half tribe of Manasseh have built an altar over against the land of Canaan, in the borders of Jordan, at the passage of the children of Israel.
  2. And when the children of Israel heard of it, the whole congregation of the children of Israel gathered themselves together at Shiloh, to go up to war against them.
  3. And the children of Israel sent unto the children of Reuben, and to the children of Gad, and to the half tribe of Manasseh, into the land of Gilead, Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest,
  4. And with him ten princes, of each chief house a prince throughout all the tribes of Israel; and each one was an head of the house of their fathers among the thousands of Israel.
  5. And they came unto the children of Reuben, and to the children of Gad, and to the half tribe of Manasseh, unto the land of Gilead, and they spake with them, saying,
  1. 여호와의 온 회중이 말하기를 너희가 어찌하여 이스라엘 하나님께 범죄하여 오늘 여호와를 따르는 데서 돌아서서 너희를 위하여 제단을 쌓아 너희가 오늘 여호와께 거역하고자 하느냐
  2. 브올의 죄악으로 말미암아 여호와의 회중에 재앙이 내렸으나 오늘까지 우리가 그 죄에서 정결함을 받지 못하였거늘 그 죄악이 우리에게 부족하여서
  3. 오늘 너희가 돌이켜 여호와를 따르지 아니하려고 하느냐 너희가 오늘 여호와를 배역하면 내일은 그가 이스라엘 온 회중에게 진노하시리라
  4. 그런데 너희의 소유지가 만일 깨끗하지 아니하거든 여호와의 성막이 있는 여호와의 소유지로 건너와 우리 중에서 소유지를 나누어 가질 것이니라 오직 우리 하나님 여호와의 제단 외에 다른 제단을 쌓음으로 여호와를 거역하지 말며 우리에게도 거역하지 말라
  5. 세라의 아들 아간이 온전히 바친 물건에 대하여 범죄하므로 이스라엘 온 회중에 진노가 임하지 아니하였느냐 그의 죄악으로 멸망한 자가 그 한 사람만이 아니었느니라 하니라
  1. Thus saith the whole congregation of the LORD, What trespass is this that ye have committed against the God of Israel, to turn away this day from following the LORD, in that ye have builded you an altar, that ye might rebel this day against the LORD?
  2. Is the iniquity of Peor too little for us, from which we are not cleansed until this day, although there was a plague in the congregation of the LORD,
  3. But that ye must turn away this day from following the LORD? and it will be, seeing ye rebel to day against the LORD, that to morrow he will be wroth with the whole congregation of Israel.
  4. Notwithstanding, if the land of your possession be unclean, then pass ye over unto the land of the possession of the LORD, wherein the LORD's tabernacle dwelleth, and take possession among us: but rebel not against the LORD, nor rebel against us, in building you an altar beside the altar of the LORD our God.
  5. Did not Achan the son of Zerah commit a trespass in the accursed thing, and wrath fell on all the congregation of Israel? and that man perished not alone in his iniquity.
  1. 르우벤 자손과 갓 자손과 므낫세 반 지파가 이스라엘 천천의 수령들에게 대답하여 이르되
  2. 전능하신 자 하나님 여호와, 전능하신 자 하나님 여호와께서 아시나니 이스라엘도 장차 알리라 이 일이 만일 여호와를 거역함이거나 범죄함이거든 주께서는 오늘 우리를 구원하지 마시옵소서
  3. 우리가 제단을 쌓은 것이 돌이켜 여호와를 따르지 아니하려 함이거나 또는 그 위에 번제나 소제를 드리려 함이거나 또는 화목제물을 드리려 함이거든 여호와는 친히 벌하시옵소서
  4. 우리가 목적이 있어서 주의하고 이같이 하였노라 곧 생각하기를 후일에 너희의 자손이 우리 자손에게 말하여 이르기를 너희가 이스라엘 하나님 여호와와 무슨 상관이 있느냐
  5. 너희 르우벤 자손 갓 자손아 여호와께서 우리와 너희 사이에 요단으로 경계를 삼으셨나니 너희는 여호와께 받을 분깃이 없느니라 하여 너희의 자손이 우리 자손에게 여호와 경외하기를 그치게 할까 하여
  1. Then the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half tribe of Manasseh answered, and said unto the heads of the thousands of Israel,
  2. The LORD God of gods, the LORD God of gods, he knoweth, and Israel he shall know; if it be in rebellion, or if in transgression against the LORD, (save us not this day,)
  3. That we have built us an altar to turn from following the LORD, or if to offer thereon burnt offering or meat offering, or if to offer peace offerings thereon, let the LORD himself require it;
  4. And if we have not rather done it for fear of this thing, saying, In time to come your children might speak unto our children, saying, What have ye to do with the LORD God of Israel?
  5. For the LORD hath made Jordan a border between us and you, ye children of Reuben and children of Gad; ye have no part in the LORD: so shall your children make our children cease from fearing the LORD.
  1. 우리가 말하기를 우리가 이제 한 제단 쌓기를 준비하자 하였노니 이는 번제를 위함도 아니요 다른 제사를 위함도 아니라
  2. 우리가 여호와 앞에서 우리의 번제와 우리의 다른 제사와 우리의 화목제로 섬기는 것을 우리와 너희 사이와 우리의 후대 사이에 증거가 되게 할 뿐으로서 너희 자손들이 후일에 우리 자손들에게 이르기를 너희는 여호와께 받을 분깃이 없다 하지 못하게 하려 함이라
  3. 우리가 말하였거니와 만일 그들이 후일에 우리에게나 우리 후대에게 이같이 말하면 우리가 말하기를 우리 조상이 지은 여호와의 제단 모형을 보라 이는 번제를 위한 것도 아니요 다른 제사를 위한 것도 아니라 오직 우리와 너희 사이에 증거만 되게 할 뿐이라
  4. 우리가 번제나 소제나 다른 제사를 위하여 우리 하나님 여호와의 성막 앞에 있는 제단 외에 제단을 쌓음으로 여호와를 거역하고 오늘 여호와를 따르는 데에서 돌아서려는 것은 결단코 아니라 하리라
  5. 제사장 비느하스와 그와 함께 한 회중의 지도자들 곧 이스라엘 천천의 수령들이 르우벤 자손과 갓 자손과 므낫세 자손의 말을 듣고 좋게 여긴지라
  1. Therefore we said, Let us now prepare to build us an altar, not for burnt offering, nor for sacrifice:
  2. But that it may be a witness between us, and you, and our generations after us, that we might do the service of the LORD before him with our burnt offerings, and with our sacrifices, and with our peace offerings; that your children may not say to our children in time to come, Ye have no part in the LORD.
  3. Therefore said we, that it shall be, when they should so say to us or to our generations in time to come, that we may say again, Behold the pattern of the altar of the LORD, which our fathers made, not for burnt offerings, nor for sacrifices; but it is a witness between us and you.
  4. God forbid that we should rebel against the LORD, and turn this day from following the LORD, to build an altar for burnt offerings, for meat offerings, or for sacrifices, beside the altar of the LORD our God that is before his tabernacle.
  5. And when Phinehas the priest, and the princes of the congregation and heads of the thousands of Israel which were with him, heard the words that the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the children of Manasseh spake, it pleased them.
  1. 제사장 엘르아살의 아들 비느하스가 르우벤 자손과 갓 자손과 므낫세 자손에게 이르되 우리가 오늘 여호와께서 우리 중에 계신 줄을 아노니 이는 너희가 이 죄를 여호와께 범하지 아니하였음이니라 너희가 이제 이스라엘 자손을 여호와의 손에서 건져내었느니라 하고
  2. 제사장 엘르아살의 아들 비느하스와 지도자들이 르우벤 자손과 갓 자손을 떠나 길르앗 땅에서 가나안 땅 이스라엘 자손에게 돌아와 그들에게 보고하매
  3. 그 일이 이스라엘 자손을 즐겁게 한지라 이스라엘 자손이 하나님을 찬송하고 르우벤 자손과 갓 자손이 거주하는 땅에 가서 싸워 그것을 멸하자 하는 말을 다시는 하지 아니하였더라
  4. 르우벤 자손과 갓 자손이 그 제단을 엣이라 불렀으니 우리 사이에 이 제단은 여호와께서 하나님이 되시는 증거라 함이었더라
  1. And Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest said unto the children of Reuben, and to the children of Gad, and to the children of Manasseh, This day we perceive that the LORD is among us, because ye have not committed this trespass against the LORD: now ye have delivered the children of Israel out of the hand of the LORD.
  2. And Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, and the princes, returned from the children of Reuben, and from the children of Gad, out of the land of Gilead, unto the land of Canaan, to the children of Israel, and brought them word again.
  3. And the thing pleased the children of Israel; and the children of Israel blessed God, and did not intend to go up against them in battle, to destroy the land wherein the children of Reuben and Gad dwelt.
  4. And the children of Reuben and the children of Gad called the altar Ed: for it shall be a witness between us that the LORD is God.
