사무엘상 20:1-21:15

 요나단은 다윗에 대한 사울의 마음을 떠보기 위하여 식사 자리에 다윗을 불참시켰다. 이에 사울은 크게 분노하여 다윗을 죽이려고 했고 다윗을 변호하는 요나단마저 해하려 하였다. 사울의 살의를 확인한 요나단은 다윗과 우정 어린 맹세를 하고 그를 도피시켰다. 놉의 아히멜렉에게 도피한 다윗은 그의 도움을 받고 다시 가드 왕 아기스에게로 망명했다.
  
  다윗과 요나단(20:1-20:42)    
 
  1. 다윗이 라마 나욧에서 도망하여 요나단에게 이르되 내가 무엇을 하였으며 내 죄악이 무엇이며 네 아버지 앞에서 내 죄가 무엇이기에 그가 내 생명을 찾느냐
  2. 요나단이 그에게 이르되 결단코 아니라 네가 죽지 아니하리라 내 아버지께서 크고 작은 일을 내게 알리지 아니하고는 행하지 아니하나니 내 아버지께서 어찌하여 이 일은 내게 숨기리요 그렇지 아니하니라
  3. 다윗이 또 맹세하여 이르되 내가 네게 은혜 받은 줄을 네 아버지께서 밝히 알고 스스로 이르기를 요나단이 슬퍼할까 두려운즉 그에게 이것을 알리지 아니하리라 함이니라 그러나 진실로 여호와의 살아 계심과 네 생명을 두고 맹세하노니 나와 죽음의 사이는 한 걸음 뿐이니라
  4. 요나단이 다윗에게 이르되 네 마음의 소원이 무엇이든지 내가 너를 위하여 그것을 이루리라
  5. 다윗이 요나단에게 이르되 내일은 초하루인즉 내가 마땅히 왕을 모시고 앉아 식사를 하여야 할 것이나 나를 보내어 셋째 날 저녁까지 들에 숨게 하고
  1. Then David fled from Naioth in Ramah, and came and said to Jonathan, "What have I done? What is my iniquity? And what is my sin before your father, that he is seeking my life?"
  2. He said to him, "Far from it, you shall not die. Behold, my father does nothing either great or small without disclosing it to me. So why should my father hide this thing from me? It is not so!"
  3. Yet David vowed again, saying, "Your father knows well that I have found favor in your sight, and he has said, 'Do not let Jonathan know this, or he will be grieved ' But truly as the LORD lives and as your soul lives, there is hardly a step between me and death."
  4. Then Jonathan said to David, "Whatever you say, I will do for you."
  5. So David said to Jonathan, "Behold, tomorrow is the new moon, and I ought to sit down to eat with the king But let me go, that I may hide myself in the field until the third evening.
  1. 네 아버지께서 만일 나에 대하여 자세히 묻거든 그 때에 너는 말하기를 다윗이 자기 성읍 베들레헴으로 급히 가기를 내게 허락하라 간청하였사오니 이는 온 가족을 위하여 거기서 매년제를 드릴 때가 됨이니이다 하라
  2. 그의 말이 좋다 하면 네 종이 평안하려니와 그가 만일 노하면 나를 해하려고 결심한 줄을 알지니
  3. 그런즉 바라건대 네 종에게 인자하게 행하라 네가 네 종에게 여호와 앞에서 너와 맹약하게 하였음이니라 그러나 내게 죄악이 있으면 네가 친히 나를 죽이라 나를 네 아버지에게로 데려갈 이유가 무엇이냐 하니라
  4. 요나단이 이르되 이 일이 결코 네게 일어나지 아니하리라 내 아버지께서 너를 해치려 확실히 결심한 줄 알면 내가 네게 와서 그것을 네게 이르지 아니하겠느냐 하니
  5. 다윗이 요나단에게 이르되 네 아버지께서 혹 엄하게 네게 대답하면 누가 그것을 내게 알리겠느냐 하더라
  1. "If your father misses me at all, then say, 'David earnestly asked leave of me to run to Bethlehem his city, because it is the yearly sacrifice there for the whole family.'
  2. "If he says, 'It is good,' your servant will be safe; but if he is very angry, know that he has decided on evil.
  3. "Therefore deal kindly with your servant, for you have brought your servant into a covenant of the LORD with you But if there is iniquity in me, put me to death yourself; for why then should you bring me to your father?"
  4. Jonathan said, "Far be it from you! For if I should indeed learn that evil has been decided by my father to come upon you, then would I not tell you about it?"
  5. Then David said to Jonathan, "Who will tell me if your father answers you harshly?"
  1. 요나단이 다윗에게 이르되 오라 우리가 들로 가자 하고 두 사람이 들로 가니라
  2. 요나단이 다윗에게 이르되 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와께서 증언하시거니와 내가 내일이나 모레 이맘때에 내 아버지를 살펴서 너 다윗에게 대한 의향이 선하면 내가 사람을 보내어 네게 알리지 않겠느냐
  3. 그러나 만일 내 아버지께서 너를 해치려 하는데도 내가 이 일을 네게 알려 주어 너를 보내어 평안히 가게 하지 아니하면 여호와께서 나 요나단에게 벌을 내리시고 또 내리시기를 원하노라 여호와께서 내 아버지와 함께 하신 것 같이 너와 함께 하시기를 원하노니
  4. 너는 내가 사는 날 동안에 여호와의 인자하심을 내게 베풀어서 나를 죽지 않게 할 뿐 아니라
  5. 여호와께서 너 다윗의 대적들을 지면에서 다 끊어 버리신 때에도 너는 네 인자함을 내 집에서 영원히 끊어 버리지 말라 하고
  1. Jonathan said to David, "Come, and let us go out into the field." So both of them went out to the field.
  2. Then Jonathan said to David, "The LORD, the God of Israel, be witness! When I have sounded out my father about this time tomorrow, or the third day, behold, if there is good feeling toward David, shall I not then send to you and make it known to you?
  3. "If it please my father to do you harm, may the LORD do so to Jonathan and more also, if I do not make it known to you and send you away, that you may go in safety And may the LORD be with you as He has been with my father.
  4. "If I am still alive, will you not show me the lovingkindness of the LORD, that I may not die?
  5. "You shall not cut off your lovingkindness from my house forever, not even when the LORD cuts off every one of the enemies of David from the face of the earth."
  1. 이에 요나단이 다윗의 집과 언약하기를 여호와께서는 다윗의 대적들을 치실지어다 하니라
  2. 다윗에 대한 요나단의 사랑이 그를 다시 맹세하게 하였으니 이는 자기 생명을 사랑함 같이 그를 사랑함이었더라
  3. 요나단이 다윗에게 이르되 내일은 초하루인즉 네 자리가 비므로 네가 없음을 자세히 물으실 것이라
  4. 너는 사흘 동안 있다가 빨리 내려가서 그 일이 있던 날에 숨었던 곳에 이르러 에셀 바위 곁에 있으라
  5. 내가 과녁을 쏘려 함 같이 화살 셋을 그 바위 곁에 쏘고
  1. So Jonathan made a covenant with the house of David, saying, "May the LORD require it at the hands of David's enemies."
  2. Jonathan made David vow again because of his love for him, because he loved him as he loved his own life.
  3. Then Jonathan said to him, "Tomorrow is the new moon, and you will be missed because your seat will be empty.
  4. "When you have stayed for three days, you shall go down quickly and come to the place where you hid yourself on that eventful day, and you shall remain by the stone Ezel.
  5. "I will shoot three arrows to the side, as though I shot at a target.
  1. 아이를 보내어 가서 화살을 찾으라 하며 내가 짐짓 아이에게 이르기를 보라 화살이 네 이쪽에 있으니 가져오라 하거든 너는 돌아올지니 여호와께서 살아 계심을 두고 맹세하노니 네가 평안 무사할 것이요
  2. 만일 아이에게 이르기를 보라 화살이 네 앞쪽에 있다 하거든 네 길을 가라 여호와께서 너를 보내셨음이니라
  3. 너와 내가 말한 일에 대하여는 여호와께서 너와 나 사이에 영원토록 계시느니라 하니라
  4. 다윗이 들에 숨으니라 초하루가 되매 왕이 앉아 음식을 먹을 때에
  5. 왕은 평시와 같이 벽 곁 자기 자리에 앉아 있고 요나단은 서 있고 아브넬은 사울 곁에 앉아 있고 다윗의 자리는 비었더라
  1. "And behold, I will send the lad, saying, 'Go, find the arrows.' If I specifically say to the lad, 'Behold, the arrows are on this side of you, get them,' then come; for there is safety for you and no harm, as the LORD lives.
  2. "But if I say to the youth, 'Behold, the arrows are beyond you,' go, for the LORD has sent you away.
  3. "As for the agreement of which you and I have spoken, behold, the LORD is between you and me forever."
  4. So David hid in the field; and when the new moon came, the king sat down to eat food.
  5. The king sat on his seat as usual, the seat by the wall; then Jonathan rose up and Abner sat down by Saul's side, but David's place was empty.
  1. 그러나 그 날에는 사울이 아무 말도 하지 아니하였으니 이는 생각하기를 그에게 무슨 사고가 있어서 부정한가보다 정녕히 부정한가보다 하였음이더니
  2. 이튿날 곧 그 달의 둘째 날에도 다윗의 자리가 여전히 비었으므로 사울이 그의 아들 요나단에게 묻되 이새의 아들이 어찌하여 어제와 오늘 식사에 나오지 아니하느냐 하니
  3. 요나단이 사울에게 대답하되 다윗이 내게 베들레헴으로 가기를 간청하여
  4. 이르되 원하건대 나에게 가게 하라 우리 가족이 그 성읍에서 제사할 일이 있으므로 나의 형이 내게 오기를 명령하였으니 내가 네게 사랑을 받거든 내가 가서 내 형들을 보게 하라 하였으므로 그가 왕의 식사 자리에 오지 아니하였나이다 하니
  5. 사울이 요나단에게 화를 내며 그에게 이르되 패역무도한 계집의 소생아 네가 이새의 아들을 택한 것이 네 수치와 네 어미의 벌거벗은 수치 됨을 내가 어찌 알지 못하랴
  1. Nevertheless Saul did not speak anything that day, for he thought, "It is an accident, he is not clean, surely he is not clean."
  2. It came about the next day, the second day of the new moon, that David's place was empty; so Saul said to Jonathan his son, "Why has the son of Jesse not come to the meal, either yesterday or today?"
  3. Jonathan then answered Saul, "David earnestly asked leave of me to go to Bethlehem,
  4. for he said, 'Please let me go, since our family has a sacrifice in the city, and my brother has commanded me to attend. And now, if I have found favor in your sight, please let me get away that I may see my brothers.' For this reason he has not come to the king's table."
  5. Then Saul's anger burned against Jonathan and he said to him, "You son of a perverse, rebellious woman! Do I not know that you are choosing the son of Jesse to your own shame and to the shame of your mother's nakedness?
  1. 이새의 아들이 땅에 사는 동안은 너와 네 나라가 든든히 서지 못하리라 그런즉 이제 사람을 보내어 그를 내게로 끌어 오라 그는 죽어야 할 자이니라 한지라
  2. 요나단이 그의 아버지 사울에게 대답하여 이르되 그가 죽을 일이 무엇이니이까 무엇을 행하였나이까
  3. 사울이 요나단에게 단창을 던져 죽이려 한지라 요나단이 그의 아버지가 다윗을 죽이기로 결심한 줄 알고
  4. 심히 노하여 식탁에서 떠나고 그 달의 둘째 날에는 먹지 아니하였으니 이는 그의 아버지가 다윗을 욕되게 하였으므로 다윗을 위하여 슬퍼함이었더라
  5. 아침에 요나단이 작은 아이를 데리고 다윗과 정한 시간에 들로 나가서
  1. "For as long as the son of Jesse lives on the earth, neither you nor your kingdom will be established. Therefore now, send and bring him to me, for he must surely die."
  2. But Jonathan answered Saul his father and said to him, "Why should he be put to death? What has he done?"
  3. Then Saul hurled his spear at him to strike him down; so Jonathan knew that his father had decided to put David to death.
  4. Then Jonathan arose from the table in fierce anger, and did not eat food on the second day of the new moon, for he was grieved over David because his father had dishonored him.
  5. Now it came about in the morning that Jonathan went out into the field for the appointment with David, and a little lad was with him.
  1. 아이에게 이르되 달려가서 내가 쏘는 화살을 찾으라 하고 아이가 달려갈 때에 요나단이 화살을 그의 위로 지나치게 쏘니라
  2. 아이가 요나단이 쏜 화살 있는 곳에 이를 즈음에 요나단이 아이 뒤에서 외쳐 이르되 화살이 네 앞쪽에 있지 아니하냐 하고
  3. 요나단이 아이 뒤에서 또 외치되 지체 말고 빨리 달음질하라 하매 요나단의 아이가 화살을 주워 가지고 주인에게로 돌아왔으나
  4. 그 아이는 아무것도 알지 못하고 요나단과 다윗만 그 일을 알았더라
  5. 요나단이 그의 무기를 아이에게 주며 이르되 이것을 가지고 성읍으로 가라 하니
  1. He said to his lad, "Run, find now the arrows which I am about to shoot." As the lad was running, he shot an arrow past him.
  2. When the lad reached the place of the arrow which Jonathan had shot, Jonathan called after the lad and said, "Is not the arrow beyond you?"
  3. And Jonathan called after the lad, "Hurry, be quick, do not stay!" And Jonathan's lad picked up the arrow and came to his master.
  4. But the lad was not aware of anything; only Jonathan and David knew about the matter.
  5. Then Jonathan gave his weapons to his lad and said to him, "Go, bring them to the city."
  1. 아이가 가매 다윗이 곧 바위 남쪽에서 일어나서 땅에 엎드려 세 번 절한 후에 서로 입 맞추고 같이 울되 다윗이 더욱 심하더니
  2. 요나단이 다윗에게 이르되 평안히 가라 우리 두 사람이 여호와의 이름으로 맹세하여 이르기를 여호와께서 영원히 나와 너 사이에 계시고 내 자손과 네 자손 사이에 계시리라 하였느니라 하니 다윗은 일어나 떠나고 요나단은 성읍으로 들어가니라
  1. When the lad was gone, David rose from the south side and fell on his face to the ground, and bowed three times And they kissed each other and wept together, but David wept the more.
  2. Jonathan said to David, "Go in safety, inasmuch as we have sworn to each other in the name of the LORD, saying, 'The LORD will be between me and you, and between my descendants and your descendants forever.'" Then he rose and departed, while Jonathan went into the city.
 
  다윗과 아히멜렉(21:1-21:15)    
 
  1. 다윗이 놉에 가서 제사장 아히멜렉에게 이르니 아히멜렉이 떨며 다윗을 영접하여 그에게 이르되 어찌하여 네가 홀로 있고 함께 하는 자가 아무도 없느냐 하니
  2. 다윗이 제사장 아히멜렉에게 이르되 왕이 내게 일을 명령하고 이르시기를 내가 너를 보내는 것과 네게 명령한 일은 아무것도 사람에게 알리지 말라 하시기로 내가 나의 소년들을 이러이러한 곳으로 오라고 말하였나이다
  3. 이제 당신의 수중에 무엇이 있나이까 떡 다섯 덩이나 무엇이나 있는 대로 내 손에 주소서 하니
  4. 제사장이 다윗에게 대답하여 이르되 보통 떡은 내 수중에 없으나 거룩한 떡은 있나니 그 소년들이 여자를 가까이만 하지 아니하였으면 주리라 하는지라
  5. 다윗이 제사장에게 대답하여 이르되 우리가 참으로 삼 일 동안이나 여자를 가까이 하지 아니하였나이다 내가 떠난 길이 보통 여행이라도 소년들의 그릇이 성결하겠거든 하물며 오늘 그들의 그릇이 성결하지 아니하겠나이까 하매
  1. Then David came to Nob to Ahimelech the priest; and Ahimelech came trembling to meet David and said to him, "Why are you alone and no one with you?"
  2. David said to Ahimelech the priest, "The king has commissioned me with a matter and has said to me, 'Let no one know anything about the matter on which I am sending you and with which I have commissioned you; and I have directed the young men to a certain place.'
  3. "Now therefore, what do you have on hand? Give me five loaves of bread, or whatever can be found."
  4. The priest answered David and said, "There is no ordinary bread on hand, but there is consecrated bread; if only the young men have kept themselves from women."
  5. David answered the priest and said to him, "Surely women have been kept from us as previously when I set out and the vessels of the young men were holy, though it was an ordinary journey; how much more then today will their vessels be holy?"
  1. 제사장이 그 거룩한 떡을 주었으니 거기는 진설병 곧 여호와 앞에서 물려 낸 떡밖에 없었음이라 이 떡은 더운 떡을 드리는 날에 물려 낸 것이더라
  2. 그 날에 사울의 신하 한 사람이 여호와 앞에 머물러 있었는데 그는 도엑이라 이름하는 에돔 사람이요 사울의 목자장이었더라
  3. 다윗이 아히멜렉에게 이르되 여기 당신의 수중에 창이나 칼이 없나이까 왕의 일이 급하므로 내가 내 칼과 무기를 가지지 못하였나이다 하니
  4. 제사장이 이르되 네가 엘라 골짜기에서 죽인 블레셋 사람 골리앗의 칼이 보자기에 싸여 에봇 뒤에 있으니 네가 그것을 가지려거든 가지라 여기는 그것밖에 다른 것이 없느니라 하는지라 다윗이 이르되 그같은 것이 또 없나니 내게 주소서 하더라
  5. 그 날에 다윗이 사울을 두려워하여 일어나 도망하여 가드 왕 아기스에게로 가니
  1. So the priest gave him consecrated bread; for there was no bread there but the bread of the Presence which was removed from before the LORD, in order to put hot bread in its place when it was taken away.
  2. Now one of the servants of Saul was there that day, detained before the LORD; and his name was Doeg the Edomite, the chief of Saul's shepherds.
  3. David said to Ahimelech, "Now is there not a spear or a sword on hand? For I brought neither my sword nor my weapons with me, because the king's matter was urgent."
  4. Then the priest said, "The sword of Goliath the Philistine, whom you killed in the valley of Elah, behold, it is wrapped in a cloth behind the ephod; if you would take it for yourself, take it. For there is no other except it here." And David said, "There is none like it; give it to me."
  5. Then David arose and fled that day from Saul, and went to Achish king of Gath.
  1. 아기스의 신하들이 아기스에게 말하되 이는 그 땅의 왕 다윗이 아니니이까 무리가 춤추며 이 사람의 일을 노래하여 이르되 사울이 죽인 자는 천천이요 다윗은 만만이로다 하지 아니하였나이까 한지라
  2. 다윗이 이 말을 그의 마음에 두고 가드 왕 아기스를 심히 두려워하여
  3. 그들 앞에서 그의 행동을 변하여 미친 체하고 대문짝에 그적거리며 침을 수염에 흘리매
  4. 아기스가 그의 신하에게 이르되 너희도 보거니와 이 사람이 미치광이로다 어찌하여 그를 내게로 데려왔느냐
  5. 내게 미치광이가 부족하여서 너희가 이 자를 데려다가 내 앞에서 미친 짓을 하게 하느냐 이 자가 어찌 내 집에 들어오겠느냐 하니라
  1. But the servants of Achish said to him, "Is this not David the king of the land? Did they not sing of this one as they danced, saying, 'Saul has slain his thousands, And David his ten thousands'?"
  2. David took these words to heart and greatly feared Achish king of Gath.
  3. So he disguised his sanity before them, and acted insanely in their hands, and scribbled on the doors of the gate, and let his saliva run down into his beard.
  4. Then Achish said to his servants, "Behold, you see the man behaving as a madman. Why do you bring him to me?
  5. "Do I lack madmen, that you have brought this one to act the madman in my presence? Shall this one come into my house?"
 
  패역 부도(悖逆不道, 20:30)  도리에 어긋나고 불순하여 사람 같지 않음  
  항용 떡(恒用, 21:4)  음식으로 먹는 보통 떡
