욥기 4:1-6:30

 엘리바스는 욥의 고난이 ‘숨겨진 죄’ 때문이라고 하면서 회개할 것을 촉구하였다. 그리고 회개 후에 받게 될 축복을 설명하였다. 그러자 욥은 불성실한 그의 태도와 말을 책망한 뒤, 자신의 허물을 깨닫게 하면 잠잠하겠다고 하였다.
  
  엘리바스의 첫번째 충고(4:1-5:27)    
 
  1. 데만 사람 엘리바스가 대답하여 이르되
  2. 누가 네게 말하면 네가 싫증을 내겠느냐, 누가 참고 말하지 아니하겠느냐
  3. 보라 전에 네가 여러 사람을 훈계하였고 손이 늘어진 자를 강하게 하였고
  4. 넘어지는 자를 말로 붙들어 주었고 무릎이 약한 자를 강하게 하였거늘
  5. 이제 이 일이 네게 이르매 네가 힘들어 하고 이 일이 네게 닥치매 네가 놀라는구나
  1. Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered,
  2. "If one ventures a word with you, will you become impatient? But who can refrain from speaking?
  3. "Behold you have admonished many, And you have strengthened weak hands.
  4. "Your words have helped the tottering to stand, And you have strengthened feeble knees.
  5. "But now it has come to you, and you are impatient; It touches you, and you are dismayed.
  1. 네 경외함이 네 자랑이 아니냐 네 소망이 네 온전한 길이 아니냐
  2. 생각하여 보라 죄 없이 망한 자가 누구인가 정직한 자의 끊어짐이 어디 있는가
  3. 내가 보건대 악을 밭 갈고 독을 뿌리는 자는 그대로 거두나니
  4. 다 하나님의 입 기운에 멸망하고 그의 콧김에 사라지느니라
  5. 사자의 우는 소리와 젊은 사자의 소리가 그치고 어린 사자의 이가 부러지며
  1. "Is not your fear of God your confidence, And the integrity of your ways your hope?
  2. "Remember now, who ever perished being innocent? Or where were the upright destroyed?
  3. "According to what I have seen, those who plow iniquity And those who sow trouble harvest it.
  4. "By the breath of God they perish, And by the blast of His anger they come to an end.
  5. "The roaring of the lion and the voice of the fierce lion, And the teeth of the young lions are broken.
  1. 사자는 사냥한 것이 없어 죽어 가고 암사자의 새끼는 흩어지느니라
  2. 어떤 말씀이 내게 가만히 이르고 그 가느다란 소리가 내 귀에 들렸었나니
  3. 사람이 깊이 잠들 즈음 내가 그 밤에 본 환상으로 말미암아 생각이 번거로울 때에
  4. 두려움과 떨림이 내게 이르러서 모든 뼈마디가 흔들렸느니라
  5. 그 때에 영이 내 앞으로 지나매 내 몸에 털이 주뼛하였느니라
  1. "The lion perishes for lack of prey, And the whelps of the lioness are scattered.
  2. "Now a word was brought to me stealthily, And my ear received a whisper of it.
  3. "Amid disquieting thoughts from the visions of the night, When deep sleep falls on men,
  4. Dread came upon me, and trembling, And made all my bones shake.
  5. "Then a spirit passed by my face; The hair of my flesh bristled up.
  1. 그 영이 서 있는데 나는 그 형상을 알아보지는 못하여도 오직 한 형상이 내 눈 앞에 있었느니라 그 때에 내가 조용한 중에 한 목소리를 들으니
  2. 사람이 어찌 하나님보다 의롭겠느냐 사람이 어찌 그 창조하신 이보다 깨끗하겠느냐
  3. 하나님은 그의 종이라도 그대로 믿지 아니하시며 그의 천사라도 미련하다 하시나니
  4. 하물며 흙 집에 살며 티끌로 터를 삼고 하루살이 앞에서라도 무너질 자이겠느냐
  5. 아침과 저녁 사이에 부스러져 가루가 되며 영원히 사라지되 기억하는 자가 없으리라
  1. "It stood still, but I could not discern its appearance; A form was before my eyes; There was silence, then I heard a voice:
  2. 'Can mankind be just before God? Can a man be pure before his Maker?
  3. 'He puts no trust even in His servants; And against His angels He charges error.
  4. 'How much more those who dwell in houses of clay, Whose foundation is in the dust, Who are crushed before the moth!
  5. 'Between morning and evening they are broken in pieces; Unobserved, they perish forever.
  1. 장막 줄이 그들에게서 뽑히지 아니하겠느냐 그들은 지혜가 없이 죽느니라
  1. 'Is not their tent-cord plucked up within them? They die, yet without wisdom.'
 
 
  1. 너는 부르짖어 보라 네게 응답할 자가 있겠느냐 거룩한 자 중에 네가 누구에게로 향하겠느냐
  2. 분노가 미련한 자를 죽이고 시기가 어리석은 자를 멸하느니라
  3. 내가 미련한 자가 뿌리 내리는 것을 보고 그의 집을 당장에 저주하였노라
  4. 그의 자식들은 구원에서 멀고 성문에서 억눌리나 구하는 자가 없으며
  5. 그가 추수한 것은 주린 자가 먹되 덫에 걸린 것도 빼앗으며 올무가 그의 재산을 향하여 입을 벌리느니라
  1. "Call now, is there anyone who will answer you? And to which of the holy ones will you turn?
  2. "For anger slays the foolish man, And jealousy kills the simple.
  3. "I have seen the foolish taking root, And I cursed his abode immediately.
  4. "His sons are far from safety, They are even oppressed in the gate, And there is no deliverer.
  5. "His harvest the hungry devour And take it to a place of thorns, And the schemer is eager for their wealth.
  1. 재난은 티끌에서 일어나는 것이 아니며 고생은 흙에서 나는 것이 아니니라
  2. 사람은 고생을 위하여 났으니 불꽃이 위로 날아 가는 것 같으니라
  3. 나라면 하나님을 찾겠고 내 일을 하나님께 의탁하리라
  4. 하나님은 헤아릴 수 없이 큰 일을 행하시며 기이한 일을 셀 수 없이 행하시나니
  5. 비를 땅에 내리시고 물을 밭에 보내시며
  1. "For affliction does not come from the dust, Nor does trouble sprout from the ground,
  2. For man is born for trouble, As sparks fly upward.
  3. "But as for me, I would seek God, And I would place my cause before God;
  4. Who does great and unsearchable things, Wonders without number.
  5. "He gives rain on the earth And sends water on the fields,
  1. 낮은 자를 높이 드시고 애곡하는 자를 일으키사 구원에 이르게 하시느니라
  2. 하나님은 교활한 자의 계교를 꺾으사 그들의 손이 성공하지 못하게 하시며
  3. 지혜로운 자가 자기의 계략에 빠지게 하시며 간교한 자의 계략을 무너뜨리시므로
  4. 그들은 낮에도 어두움을 만나고 대낮에도 더듬기를 밤과 같이 하느니라
  5. 하나님은 가난한 자를 강한 자의 칼과 그 입에서, 또한 그들의 손에서 구출하여 주시나니
  1. So that He sets on high those who are lowly, And those who mourn are lifted to safety.
  2. "He frustrates the plotting of the shrewd, So that their hands cannot attain success.
  3. "He captures the wise by their own shrewdness, And the advice of the cunning is quickly thwarted.
  4. "By day they meet with darkness, And grope at noon as in the night.
  5. "But He saves from the sword of their mouth, And the poor from the hand of the mighty.
  1. 그러므로 가난한 자가 희망이 있고 악행이 스스로 입을 다무느니라
  2. 볼지어다 하나님께 징계 받는 자에게는 복이 있나니 그런즉 너는 전능자의 징계를 업신여기지 말지니라
  3. 하나님은 아프게 하시다가 싸매시며 상하게 하시다가 그의 손으로 고치시나니
  4. 여섯 가지 환난에서 너를 구원하시며 일곱 가지 환난이라도 그 재앙이 네게 미치지 않게 하시며
  5. 기근 때에 죽음에서, 전쟁 때에 칼의 위협에서 너를 구원하실 터인즉
  1. "So the helpless has hope, And unrighteousness must shut its mouth.
  2. "Behold, how happy is the man whom God reproves, So do not despise the discipline of the Almighty.
  3. "For He inflicts pain, and gives relief; He wounds, and His hands also heal.
  4. "From six troubles He will deliver you, Even in seven evil will not touch you.
  5. "In famine He will redeem you from death, And in war from the power of the sword.
  1. 네가 혀의 채찍을 피하여 숨을 수가 있고 멸망이 올 때에도 두려워하지 아니할 것이라
  2. 너는 멸망과 기근을 비웃으며 들짐승을 두려워하지 말라
  3. 들에 있는 돌이 너와 언약을 맺겠고 들짐승이 너와 화목하게 살 것이니라
  4. 네가 네 장막의 평안함을 알고 네 우리를 살펴도 잃은 것이 없을 것이며
  5. 네 자손이 많아지며 네 후손이 땅의 풀과 같이 될 줄을 네가 알 것이라
  1. "You will be hidden from the scourge of the tongue, And you will not be afraid of violence when it comes.
  2. "You will laugh at violence and famine, And you will not be afraid of wild beasts.
  3. "For you will be in league with the stones of the field, And the beasts of the field will be at peace with you.
  4. "You will know that your tent is secure, For you will visit your abode and fear no loss.
  5. "You will know also that your descendants will be many, And your offspring as the grass of the earth.
  1. 네가 장수하다가 무덤에 이르리니 마치 곡식단을 제 때에 들어올림 같으니라
  2. 볼지어다 우리가 연구한 바가 이와 같으니 너는 들어 보라 그러면 네가 알리라
  1. "You will come to the grave in full vigor, Like the stacking of grain in its season.
  2. "Behold this; we have investigated it, and so it is. Hear it, and know for yourself."
 
  욥의 대답(6:1-6:30)    
 
  1. 욥이 대답하여 이르되
  2. 나의 괴로움을 달아 보며 나의 파멸을 저울 위에 모두 놓을 수 있다면
  3. 바다의 모래보다도 무거울 것이라 그러므로 나의 말이 경솔하였구나
  4. 전능자의 화살이 내게 박히매 나의 영이 그 독을 마셨나니 하나님의 두려움이 나를 엄습하여 치는구나
  5. 들나귀가 풀이 있으면 어찌 울겠으며 소가 꼴이 있으면 어찌 울겠느냐
  1. Then Job answered,
  2. "Oh that my grief were actually weighed And laid in the balances together with my calamity!
  3. "For then it would be heavier than the sand of the seas; Therefore my words have been rash.
  4. "For the arrows of the Almighty are within me, Their poison my spirit drinks; The terrors of God are arrayed against me.
  5. "Does the wild donkey bray over his grass, Or does the ox low over his fodder?
  1. 싱거운 것이 소금 없이 먹히겠느냐 닭의 알 흰자위가 맛이 있겠느냐
  2. 내 마음이 이런 것을 만지기도 싫어하나니 꺼리는 음식물 같이 여김이니라
  3. 나의 간구를 누가 들어 줄 것이며 나의 소원을 하나님이 허락하시랴
  4. 이는 곧 나를 멸하시기를 기뻐하사 하나님이 그의 손을 들어 나를 끊어 버리실 것이라
  5. 그러할지라도 내가 오히려 위로를 받고 그칠 줄 모르는 고통 가운데서도 기뻐하는 것은 내가 거룩하신 이의 말씀을 거역하지 아니하였음이라
  1. "Can something tasteless be eaten without salt, Or is there any taste in the white of an egg?
  2. "My soul refuses to touch them; They are like loathsome food to me.
  3. "Oh that my request might come to pass, And that God would grant my longing!
  4. "Would that God were willing to crush me, That He would loose His hand and cut me off!
  5. "But it is still my consolation, And I rejoice in unsparing pain, That I have not denied the words of the Holy One.
  1. 내가 무슨 기력이 있기에 기다리겠느냐 내 마지막이 어떠하겠기에 그저 참겠느냐
  2. 나의 기력이 어찌 돌의 기력이겠느냐 나의 살이 어찌 놋쇠겠느냐
  3. 나의 도움이 내 속에 없지 아니하냐 나의 능력이 내게서 쫓겨나지 아니하였느냐
  4. 낙심한 자가 비록 전능자를 경외하기를 저버릴지라도 그의 친구로부터 동정을 받느니라
  5. 내 형제들은 개울과 같이 변덕스럽고 그들은 개울의 물살 같이 지나가누나
  1. "What is my strength, that I should wait? And what is my end, that I should endure?
  2. "Is my strength the strength of stones, Or is my flesh bronze?
  3. "Is it that my help is not within me, And that deliverance is driven from me?
  4. "For the despairing man there should be kindness from his friend; So that he does not forsake the fear of the Almighty.
  5. "My brothers have acted deceitfully like a wadi, Like the torrents of wadis which vanish,
  1. 얼음이 녹으면 물이 검어지며 눈이 그 속에 감추어질지라도
  2. 따뜻하면 마르고 더우면 그 자리에서 아주 없어지나니
  3. 대상들은 그들의 길을 벗어나서 삭막한 들에 들어가 멸망하느니라
  4. 데마의 떼들이 그것을 바라보고 스바의 행인들도 그것을 사모하다가
  5. 거기 와서는 바라던 것을 부끄러워하고 낙심하느니라
  1. Which are turbid because of ice And into which the snow melts.
  2. "When they become waterless, they are silent, When it is hot, they vanish from their place.
  3. "The paths of their course wind along, They go up into nothing and perish.
  4. "The caravans of Tema looked, The travelers of Sheba hoped for them.
  5. "They were disappointed for they had trusted, They came there and were confounded.
  1. 이제 너희는 아무것도 아니로구나 너희가 두려운 일을 본즉 겁내는구나
  2. 내가 언제 너희에게 무엇을 달라고 말했더냐 나를 위하여 너희 재물을 선물로 달라고 하더냐
  3. 내가 언제 말하기를 원수의 손에서 나를 구원하라 하더냐 폭군의 손에서 나를 구원하라 하더냐
  4. 내게 가르쳐서 나의 허물된 것을 깨닫게 하라 내가 잠잠하리라
  5. 옳은 말이 어찌 그리 고통스러운고, 너희의 책망은 무엇을 책망함이냐
  1. "Indeed, you have now become such, You see a terror and are afraid.
  2. "Have I said, 'Give me something,' Or, 'Offer a bribe for me from your wealth,'
  3. Or, 'Deliver me from the hand of the adversary,' Or, 'Redeem me from the hand of the tyrants'?
  4. "Teach me, and I will be silent; And show me how I have erred.
  5. "How painful are honest words! But what does your argument prove?
  1. 너희가 남의 말을 꾸짖을 생각을 하나 실망한 자의 말은 바람에 날아가느니라
  2. 너희는 고아를 제비 뽑으며 너희 친구를 팔아 넘기는구나
  3. 이제 원하건대 너희는 내게로 얼굴을 돌리라 내가 너희를 대면하여 결코 거짓말하지 아니하리라
  4. 너희는 돌이켜 행악자가 되지 말라 아직도 나의 의가 건재하니 돌아오라
  5. 내 혀에 어찌 불의한 것이 있으랴 내 미각이 어찌 속임을 분간하지 못하랴
  1. "Do you intend to reprove my words, When the words of one in despair belong to the wind?
  2. "You would even cast lots for the orphans And barter over your friend.
  3. "Now please look at me, And see if I lie to your face.
  4. "Desist now, let there be no injustice; Even desist, my righteousness is yet in it.
  5. "Is there injustice on my tongue? Cannot my palate discern calamities?
