에스겔 18:1-20:9

 이스라엘이 화를 당하는 이유가 조상들에게 있다고 원망하는 백성들에게 하나님께서는 사람이 오직 자신의 행위에 따라 심판받게 된다고 말씀하셨으며, 방백들을 위한 애가를 통해 유다의 멸망을 예언하셨다. 또한 야웨께 묻기 위해 선지자에게 온 이스라엘 장로들을 책망하시며, 과거에 이스라엘이 애굽에서 하나님의 은혜에도 불구하고 우상을 숭배했었다고 말씀하셨다.
  
  심판의 개별성(18:1-18:32)    
 
  1. 또 여호와의 말씀이 내게 임하여 이르시되
  2. 너희가 이스라엘 땅에 관한 속담에 이르기를 아버지가 신 포도를 먹었으므로 그의 아들의 이가 시다고 함은 어찌 됨이냐
  3. 주 여호와의 말씀이니라 내가 나의 삶을 두고 맹세하노니 너희가 이스라엘 가운데에서 다시는 이 속담을 쓰지 못하게 되리라
  4. 모든 영혼이 다 내게 속한지라 아버지의 영혼이 내게 속함 같이 그의 아들의 영혼도 내게 속하였나니 범죄하는 그 영혼은 죽으리라
  5. 사람이 만일 의로워서 정의와 공의를 따라 행하며
  1. Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
  2. "What do you mean by using this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying, 'The fathers eat the sour grapes, But the children's teeth are set on edge'?
  3. "As I live," declares the Lord GOD, "you are surely not going to use this proverb in Israel anymore.
  4. "Behold, all souls are Mine; the soul of the father as well as the soul of the son is Mine The soul who sins will die.
  5. "But if a man is righteous and practices justice and righteousness,
  1. 산 위에서 제물을 먹지 아니하며 이스라엘 족속의 우상에게 눈을 들지 아니하며 이웃의 아내를 더럽히지 아니하며 월경 중에 있는 여인을 가까이 하지 아니하며
  2. 사람을 학대하지 아니하며 빚진 자의 저당물을 돌려 주며 강탈하지 아니하며 주린 자에게 음식물을 주며 벗은 자에게 옷을 입히며
  3. 변리를 위하여 꾸어 주지 아니하며 이자를 받지 아니하며 스스로 손을 금하여 죄를 짓지 아니하며 사람과 사람 사이에 진실하게 판단하며
  4. 내 율례를 따르며 내 규례를 지켜 진실하게 행할진대 그는 의인이니 반드시 살리라 주 여호와의 말씀이니라
  5. 가령 그가 아들을 낳았다 하자 그 아들이 이 모든 선은 하나도 행하지 아니하고 이 죄악 중 하나를 범하여 강포하거나 살인하거나
  1. and does not eat at the mountain shrines or lift up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, or defile his neighbor's wife or approach a woman during her menstrual period--
  2. if a man does not oppress anyone, but restores to the debtor his pledge, does not commit robbery, but gives his bread to the hungry and covers the naked with clothing,
  3. if he does not lend money on interest or take increase, if he keeps his hand from iniquity and executes true justice between man and man,
  4. if he walks in My statutes and My ordinances so as to deal faithfully--he is righteous and will surely live," declares the Lord GOD.
  5. "Then he may have a violent son who sheds blood and who does any of these things to a brother
  1. 산 위에서 제물을 먹거나 이웃의 아내를 더럽히거나
  2. 가난하고 궁핍한 자를 학대하거나 강탈하거나 빚진 자의 저당물을 돌려 주지 아니하거나 우상에게 눈을 들거나 가증한 일을 행하거나
  3. 변리를 위하여 꾸어 주거나 이자를 받거나 할진대 그가 살겠느냐 결코 살지 못하리니 이 모든 가증한 일을 행하였은즉 반드시 죽을지라 자기의 피가 자기에게로 돌아가리라
  4. 또 가령 그가 아들을 낳았다 하자 그 아들이 그 아버지가 행한 모든 죄를 보고 두려워하여 그대로 행하지 아니하고
  5. 산 위에서 제물을 먹지도 아니하며 이스라엘 족속의 우상에게 눈을 들지도 아니하며 이웃의 아내를 더럽히지도 아니하며
  1. (though he himself did not do any of these things), that is, he even eats at the mountain shrines, and defiles his neighbor's wife,
  2. oppresses the poor and needy, commits robbery, does not restore a pledge, but lifts up his eyes to the idols and commits abomination,
  3. he lends money on interest and takes increase; will he live? He will not live! He has committed all these abominations, he will surely be put to death; his blood will be on his own head.
  4. "Now behold, he has a son who has observed all his father's sins which he committed, and observing does not do likewise.
  5. "He does not eat at the mountain shrines or lift up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, or defile his neighbor's wife,
  1. 사람을 학대하지도 아니하며 저당을 잡지도 아니하며 강탈하지도 아니하고 주린 자에게 음식물을 주며 벗은 자에게 옷을 입히며
  2. 손을 금하여 가난한 자를 압제하지 아니하며 변리나 이자를 받지 아니하여 내 규례를 지키며 내 율례를 행할진대 이 사람은 그의 아버지의 죄악으로 죽지 아니하고 반드시 살겠고
  3. 그의 아버지는 심히 포학하여 그 동족을 강탈하고 백성들 중에서 선을 행하지 아니하였으므로 그는 그의 죄악으로 죽으리라
  4. 그런데 너희는 이르기를 아들이 어찌 아버지의 죄를 담당하지 아니하겠느냐 하는도다 아들이 정의와 공의를 행하며 내 모든 율례를 지켜 행하였으면 그는 반드시 살려니와
  5. 범죄하는 그 영혼은 죽을지라 아들은 아버지의 죄악을 담당하지 아니할 것이요 아버지는 아들의 죄악을 담당하지 아니하리니 의인의 공의도 자기에게로 돌아가고 악인의 악도 자기에게로 돌아가리라
  1. or oppress anyone, or retain a pledge, or commit robbery, but he gives his bread to the hungry and covers the naked with clothing,
  2. he keeps his hand from the poor, does not take interest or increase, but executes My ordinances, and walks in My statutes; he will not die for his father's iniquity, he will surely live.
  3. "As for his father, because he practiced extortion, robbed his brother and did what was not good among his people, behold, he will die for his iniquity.
  4. "Yet you say, 'Why should the son not bear the punishment for the father's iniquity?' When the son has practiced justice and righteousness and has observed all My statutes and done them, he shall surely live.
  5. "The person who sins will die The son will not bear the punishment for the father's iniquity, nor will the father bear the punishment for the son's iniquity; the righteousness of the righteous will be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked will be upon himself.
  1. 그러나 악인이 만일 그가 행한 모든 죄에서 돌이켜 떠나 내 모든 율례를 지키고 정의와 공의를 행하면 반드시 살고 죽지 아니할 것이라
  2. 그 범죄한 것이 하나도 기억함이 되지 아니하리니 그가 행한 공의로 살리라
  3. 주 여호와의 말씀이니라 내가 어찌 악인이 죽는 것을 조금인들 기뻐하랴 그가 돌이켜 그 길에서 떠나 사는 것을 어찌 기뻐하지 아니하겠느냐
  4. 만일 의인이 돌이켜 그 공의에서 떠나 범죄하고 악인이 행하는 모든 가증한 일대로 행하면 살겠느냐 그가 행한 공의로운 일은 하나도 기억함이 되지 아니하리니 그가 그 범한 허물과 그 지은 죄로 죽으리라
  5. 그런데 너희는 이르기를 주의 길이 공평하지 아니하다 하는도다 이스라엘 족속아 들을지어다 내 길이 어찌 공평하지 아니하냐 너희 길이 공평하지 아니한 것이 아니냐
  1. "But if the wicked man turns from all his sins which he has committed and observes all My statutes and practices justice and righteousness, he shall surely live; he shall not die.
  2. "All his transgressions which he has committed will not be remembered against him; because of his righteousness which he has practiced, he will live.
  3. "Do I have any pleasure in the death of the wicked," declares the Lord GOD, "rather than that he should turn from his ways and live?
  4. "But when a righteous man turns away from his righteousness, commits iniquity and does according to all the abominations that a wicked man does, will he live? All his righteous deeds which he has done will not be remembered for his treachery which he has committed and his sin which he has committed; for them he will die.
  5. "Yet you say, 'The way of the Lord is not right ' Hear now, O house of Israel! Is My way not right? Is it not your ways that are not right?
  1. 만일 의인이 그 공의를 떠나 죄악을 행하고 그로 말미암아 죽으면 그 행한 죄악으로 말미암아 죽는 것이요
  2. 만일 악인이 그 행한 악을 떠나 정의와 공의를 행하면 그 영혼을 보전하리라
  3. 그가 스스로 헤아리고 그 행한 모든 죄악에서 돌이켜 떠났으니 반드시 살고 죽지 아니하리라
  4. 그런데 이스라엘 족속은 이르기를 주의 길이 공평하지 아니하다 하는도다 이스라엘 족속아 나의 길이 어찌 공평하지 아니하냐 너희 길이 공평하지 아니한 것 아니냐
  5. 주 여호와의 말씀이니라 이스라엘 족속아 내가 너희 각 사람이 행한 대로 심판할지라 너희는 돌이켜 회개하고 모든 죄에서 떠날지어다 그리한즉 그것이 너희에게 죄악의 걸림돌이 되지 아니하리라
  1. "When a righteous man turns away from his righteousness, commits iniquity and dies because of it, for his iniquity which he has committed he will die.
  2. "Again, when a wicked man turns away from his wickedness which he has committed and practices justice and righteousness, he will save his life.
  3. "Because he considered and turned away from all his transgressions which he had committed, he shall surely live; he shall not die.
  4. "But the house of Israel says, 'The way of the Lord is not right.' Are My ways not right, O house of Israel? Is it not your ways that are not right?
  5. "Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, each according to his conduct," declares the Lord GOD. "Repent and turn away from all your transgressions, so that iniquity may not become a stumbling block to you.
  1. 너희는 너희가 범한 모든 죄악을 버리고 마음과 영을 새롭게 할지어다 이스라엘 족속아 너희가 어찌하여 죽고자 하느냐
  2. 주 여호와의 말씀이니라 죽을 자가 죽는 것도 내가 기뻐하지 아니하노니 너희는 스스로 돌이키고 살지니라
  1. "Cast away from you all your transgressions which you have committed and make yourselves a new heart and a new spirit! For why will you die, O house of Israel?
  2. "For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone who dies," declares the Lord GOD. "Therefore, repent and live."
 
  방백들을 위한 애가(19:1-19:14)    
 
  1. 너는 이스라엘 고관들을 위하여 애가를 지어
  2. 부르라 네 어머니는 무엇이냐 암사자라 그가 사자들 가운데에 엎드려 젊은 사자 중에서 그 새끼를 기르는데
  3. 그 새끼 하나를 키우매 젊은 사자가 되어 먹이 물어뜯기를 배워 사람을 삼키매
  4. 이방이 듣고 함정으로 그를 잡아 갈고리로 꿰어 끌고 애굽 땅으로 간지라
  5. 암사자가 기다리다가 소망이 끊어진 줄을 알고 그 새끼 하나를 또 골라 젊은 사자로 키웠더니
  1. "As for you, take up a lamentation for the princes of Israel
  2. and say, 'What was your mother? A lioness among lions! She lay down among young lions, She reared her cubs.
  3. 'When she brought up one of her cubs, He became a lion, And he learned to tear his prey; He devoured men.
  4. 'Then nations heard about him; He was captured in their pit, And they brought him with hooks To the land of Egypt.
  5. 'When she saw, as she waited, That her hope was lost, She took another of her cubs And made him a young lion.
  1. 젊은 사자가 되매 여러 사자 가운데에 왕래하며 먹이 물어뜯기를 배워 사람을 삼키며
  2. 그의 궁궐들을 헐고 성읍들을 부수니 그 우는 소리로 말미암아 땅과 그 안에 가득한 것이 황폐한지라
  3. 이방이 포위하고 있는 지방에서 그를 치러 와서 그의 위에 그물을 치고 함정에 잡아
  4. 우리에 넣고 갈고리를 꿰어 끌고 바벨론 왕에게 이르렀나니 그를 옥에 가두어 그 소리가 다시 이스라엘 산에 들리지 아니하게 하려 함이라
  5. 네 피의 어머니는 물 가에 심겨진 포도나무 같아서 물이 많으므로 열매가 많고 가지가 무성하며
  1. 'And he walked about among the lions; He became a young lion, He learned to tear his prey; He devoured men.
  2. 'He destroyed their fortified towers And laid waste their cities; And the land and its fullness were appalled Because of the sound of his roaring.
  3. 'Then nations set against him On every side from their provinces, And they spread their net over him; He was captured in their pit.
  4. 'They put him in a cage with hooks And brought him to the king of Babylon; They brought him in hunting nets So that his voice would be heard no more On the mountains of Israel.
  5. 'Your mother was like a vine in your vineyard, Planted by the waters; It was fruitful and full of branches Because of abundant waters.
  1. 그 가지들은 강하여 권세 잡은 자의 규가 될 만한데 그 하나의 키가 굵은 가지 가운데에서 높았으며 많은 가지 가운데에서 뛰어나 보이다가
  2. 분노 중에 뽑혀서 땅에 던짐을 당하매 그 열매는 동풍에 마르고 그 강한 가지들은 꺾이고 말라 불에 탔더니
  3. 이제는 광야, 메마르고 가물이 든 땅에 심어진 바 되고
  4. 불이 그 가지 중 하나에서부터 나와 그 열매를 태우니 권세 잡은 자의 규가 될 만한 강한 가지가 없도다 하라 이것이 애가라 후에도 애가가 되리라
  1. 'And it had strong branches fit for scepters of rulers, And its height was raised above the clouds So that it was seen in its height with the mass of its branches.
  2. 'But it was plucked up in fury; It was cast down to the ground; And the east wind dried up its fruit Its strong branch was torn off So that it withered; The fire consumed it.
  3. 'And now it is planted in the wilderness, In a dry and thirsty land.
  4. 'And fire has gone out from its branch; It has consumed its shoots and fruit, So that there is not in it a strong branch, A scepter to rule.'" This is a lamentation, and has become a lamentation.
 
  유다의 패역상(20:1-20:9)    
 
  1. 일곱째 해 다섯째 달 열째 날에 이스라엘 장로 여러 사람이 여호와께 물으려고 와서 내 앞에 앉으니
  2. 여호와의 말씀이 내게 임하여 이르시되
  3. 인자야 이스라엘 장로들에게 말하여 이르라 주 여호와께서 이렇게 말씀하셨느니라 너희가 내게 물으려고 왔느냐 내가 나의 목숨을 걸고 맹세하거니와 너희가 내게 묻기를 내가 용납하지 아니하리라 주 여호와의 말씀이니라
  4. 인자야 네가 그들을 심판하려느냐 네가 그들을 심판하려느냐 너는 그들에게 그들의 조상들의 가증한 일을 알게 하여
  5. 이르라 주 여호와께서 이같이 말씀하셨느니라 옛날에 내가 이스라엘을 택하고 야곱 집의 후예를 향하여 내 손을 들어 맹세하고 애굽 땅에서 그들에게 나타나 맹세하여 이르기를 나는 여호와 너희 하나님이라 하였노라
  1. Now in the seventh year, in the fifth month, on the tenth of the month, certain of the elders of Israel came to inquire of the LORD, and sat before me.
  2. And the word of the LORD came to me saying,
  3. "Son of man, speak to the elders of Israel and say to them, 'Thus says the Lord GOD, "Do you come to inquire of Me? As I live," declares the Lord GOD, "I will not be inquired of by you."'
  4. "Will you judge them, will you judge them, son of man? Make them know the abominations of their fathers;
  5. and say to them, 'Thus says the Lord GOD, "On the day when I chose Israel and swore to the descendants of the house of Jacob and made Myself known to them in the land of Egypt, when I swore to them, saying, I am the LORD your God,
  1. 그 날에 내가 내 손을 들어 그들에게 맹세하기를 애굽 땅에서 인도하여 내어 그들을 위하여 찾아 두었던 땅 곧 젖과 꿀이 흐르는 땅이요 모든 땅 중의 아름다운 곳에 이르게 하리라 하고
  2. 또 그들에게 이르기를 너희는 눈을 끄는 바 가증한 것을 각기 버리고 애굽의 우상들로 말미암아 스스로 더럽히지 말라 나는 여호와 너희 하나님이니라 하였으나
  3. 그들이 내게 반역하여 내 말을 즐겨 듣지 아니하고 그들의 눈을 끄는 바 가증한 것을 각기 버리지 아니하며 애굽의 우상들을 떠나지 아니하므로 내가 말하기를 내가 애굽 땅에서 그들에게 나의 분노를 쏟으며 그들에게 진노를 이루리라 하였노라
  4. 그러나 내가 그들이 거주하는 이방인의 눈 앞에서 그들에게 나타나 그들을 애굽 땅에서 인도하여 내었나니 이는 내 이름을 위함이라 내 이름을 그 이방인의 눈 앞에서 더럽히지 아니하려고 행하였음이라
  1. on that day I swore to them, to bring them out from the land of Egypt into a land that I had selected for them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands.
  2. "I said to them, 'Cast away, each of you, the detestable things of his eyes, and do not defile yourselves with the idols of Egypt; I am the LORD your God.'
  3. "But they rebelled against Me and were not willing to listen to Me; they did not cast away the detestable things of their eyes, nor did they forsake the idols of Egypt Then I resolved to pour out My wrath on them, to accomplish My anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt.
  4. "But I acted for the sake of My name, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations among whom they lived, in whose sight I made Myself known to them by bringing them out of the land of Egypt.
