창세기 13:1-15:21

 애굽에서 나온 아브람은 조카 롯과의 불화를 피해 그에게 좋은 땅을 선택하여 떠나도록 했다. 하나님께서는 홀로 남은 아브람에게 자손과 땅의 복을 주실 것을 약속하셨다. 소돔에 거주하던 롯이 부족들간의 전쟁 중에 포로로 잡혀가자, 아브람은 군사들을 이끌고 기습하여 롯을 구했다. 하나님께서는 아브람에게 자손 번성의 복을 보증하시고 그 자손들의 앞일을 말씀하셨다.
  
  롯을 떠나 보냄(13:1-13:18)    
 
  1. 아브람은 자기 아내와 조카 롯과 함께 모든 소유를 이끌고 이집트를 떠나 가나안 남쪽 네겝 지방으로 올라갔는데
  2. 그에게는 가축과 은금이 풍부하였다.
  3. 거기서 그는 계속 북쪽으로 올라가 벧엘과 아이 사이, 곧 전에 그가 천막을 치고 단을 쌓은 곳에 이르러 거기서 여호와께 경배하였다.
  4. (3절과 같음)
  5. 롯에게도 소와 양과 종들이 있었다.
  1. So Abram went up from Egypt to the Negev, with his wife and everything he had, and Lot went with him.
  2. Abram had become very wealthy in livestock and in silver and gold.
  3. From the Negev he went from place to place until he came to Bethel, to the place between Bethel and Ai where his tent had been earlier
  4. and where he had first built an altar. There Abram called on the name of the LORD.
  5. Now Lot, who was moving about with Abram, also had flocks and herds and tents.
  1. 아브람과 롯에게 가축이 너무 많아 그들이 함께 살기에는 그 땅의 목초지가 부족하였다.
  2. 그래서 아브람의 목자들과 롯의 목자들이 서로 다투었으며 게다가 가나안 사람과 브리스 사람도 그 땅에 살고 있었다.
  3. 그때 아브람이 롯에게 말하였다. '우리는 한 친척이다. 나와 너, 그리고 내 목자와 네 목자끼리 서로 다투지 말자.
  4. 네 앞에 온 땅이 있지 않느냐? 자, 서로 갈라서자. 네가 원하는 땅을 택하라. 네가 동쪽으로 가면 나는 서쪽으로 가고 네가 서쪽으로 가면 나는 동쪽으로 가겠다'
  5. 롯이 요단강 유역을 바라보니 소알까지 온 땅에 물이 넉넉하였다. 이때는 아직 여호와께서 소돔과 고모라를 멸망시키시기 전이었으므로 그 땅이 마치 에덴 동산 같고 이집트의 비옥한 땅과 같았다.
  1. But the land could not support them while they stayed together, for their possessions were so great that they were not able to stay together.
  2. And quarreling arose between Abram's herdsmen and the herdsmen of Lot. The Canaanites and Perizzites were also living in the land at that time.
  3. So Abram said to Lot, "Let's not have any quarreling between you and me, or between your herdsmen and mine, for we are brothers.
  4. Is not the whole land before you? Let's part company. If you go to the left, I'll go to the right; if you go to the right, I'll go to the left."
  5. Lot looked up and saw that the whole plain of the Jordan was well watered, like the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt, toward Zoar. (This was before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.)
  1. 그래서 롯이 요단강 유역을 택하고 동쪽으로 옮기자 그들은 서로 갈라서게 되었다.
  2. 아브람은 가나안 땅에 머물렀고 롯은 요단강 유역에 정착하여 소돔 근처에 천막을 쳤는데
  3. 소돔 사람들은 대단히 악하여 여호와께 크게 범죄하였다.
  4. 롯이 아브람을 떠난 후에 여호와께서 아브람에게 말씀하셨다. '너는 네가 있는 곳에서 동서남북을 바라보아라.
  5. 보이는 땅을 너와 네 후손에게 영원히 주겠다.
  1. So Lot chose for himself the whole plain of the Jordan and set out toward the east. The two men parted company:
  2. Abram lived in the land of Canaan, while Lot lived among the cities of the plain and pitched his tents near Sodom.
  3. Now the men of Sodom were wicked and were sinning greatly against the LORD.
  4. The LORD said to Abram after Lot had parted from him, "Lift up your eyes from where you are and look north and south, east and west.
  5. All the land that you see I will give to you and your offspring forever.
  1. 내가 네 후손을 땅의 티끌처럼 많게 할 것이니 사람이 땅의 티끌을 셀 수 있다면 네 후손도 셀 수 있을 것이다.
  2. 이제 너는 일어나 이리저리 다니며 그 땅을 사방 살펴보아라. 내가 그것을 너에게 주겠다'
  3. 그래서 아브람은 천막을 옮겨 헤브론의 마므레 상수리 숲 근처에 가서 정착하고 거기서 여호와께 단을 쌓았다.
  1. I will make your offspring like the dust of the earth, so that if anyone could count the dust, then your offspring could be counted.
  2. Go, walk through the length and breadth of the land, for I am giving it to you."
  3. So Abram moved his tents and went to live near the great trees of Mamre at Hebron, where he built an altar to the LORD.
 
  롯을 구함(14:1-14:24)    
 
  1. 이 당시에 시날 왕 아므라벨과 엘라살 왕 아리옥과 엘람 왕 그돌라오멜과 고임 왕 디달이
  2. 소돔 왕 베라, 고모라 왕 비르사, 아드마 왕 시납, 스보임 왕 세메벨, 그리고 벨라 곧 소알 왕과 전쟁을 하고 있었다.
  3. 뒤에 말한 이 다섯 왕들은 오늘날 사해가 된 싯딤 골짜기에 연합 전선을 폈다.
  4. 이들은 12년 동안 그돌라오멜의 지배를 받아오다가 속국 생활 13년째에 반기를 든 것이다.
  5. 그로부터 1년 후에 그돌라오멜과 그와 동맹한 왕들이 군대를 이끌고 나와 아스드롯-가르나임에서 르바족을 치고 함에서 수스족을, 기랴다임 평야에서 엠족을 쳤으며
  1. At this time Amraphel king of Shinar, Arioch king of Ellasar, Kedorlaomer king of Elam and Tidal king of Goiim
  2. went to war against Bera king of Sodom, Birsha king of Gomorrah, Shinab king of Admah, Shemeber king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela (that is, Zoar).
  3. All these latter kings joined forces in the Valley of Siddim (the Salt Sea ).
  4. For twelve years they had been subject to Kedorlaomer, but in the thirteenth year they rebelled.
  5. In the fourteenth year, Kedorlaomer and the kings allied with him went out and defeated the Rephaites in Ashteroth Karnaim, the Zuzites in Ham, the Emites in Shaveh Kiriathaim
  1. 또 세일산에서 호리족을 쳐서 광야 근처의 엘-바란까지 그들을 추격하였다.
  2. 그런 다음 그들은 방향을 돌려 가데스로 알려진 엔-미스밧으로 가서 아말렉족의 온 땅과 하사손-다말에 사는 아모리족을 쳐서 대패시켰다.
  3. 그때 소돔 왕과 고모라 왕과 아드마 왕과 스보임 왕과 벨라 곧 소알 왕이 나와 싯딤 골짜기에서 네 나라의 대적과 맞서 싸웠는데 그 네 대적은 엘람 왕 그돌라오멜가 고임 왕 디달과 시날 왕 아므라벨과 엘라살 왕 아리옥이었다.
  4. (8절과 같음)
  5. 싯딤 골짜기에는 역청 구덩이가 많았다. 그래서 소돔과 고모라 왕이 달아날 때에 그들의 병사들이 역청 구덩이에 빠지고 살아 남은 자들은 산으로 도망하였다.
  1. and the Horites in the hill country of Seir, as far as El Paran near the desert.
  2. Then they turned back and went to En Mishpat (that is, Kadesh), and they conquered the whole territory of the Amalekites, as well as the Amorites who were living in Hazazon Tamar.
  3. Then the king of Sodom, the king of Gomorrah, the king of Admah, the king of Zeboiim and the king of Bela (that is, Zoar) marched out and drew up their battle lines in the Valley of Siddim
  4. against Kedorlaomer king of Elam, Tidal king of Goiim, Amraphel king of Shinar and Arioch king of Ellasar--four kings against five.
  5. Now the Valley of Siddim was full of tar pits, and when the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah fled, some of the men fell into them and the rest fled to the hills.
  1. 그러자 그들의 대적인 네 왕이 소돔과 고모라의 재물과 식량을 모조리 빼앗아 갔으며
  2. 소돔에 사는 아브람의 조카 롯도 붙잡아 가고 그의 재산까지 약탈해 갔다.
  3. 그때 도망쳐 나온 한 사람이 히브리 사람 아브람에게 와서 그 모든 사실을 말해 주었다. 이때 아브람은 아모리 사람 마므레의 상수리나무 숲 근처에 살고 있었는데 마므레와 그의 형제 에스골과 아넬은 아브람과 동맹을 맺은 자들이었다.
  4. 아브람은 자기 조카가 붙잡혀 갔다는 말을 듣고 자기 집에서 태어난 잘 훈련된 종 318명을 거느리고 단까지 쫓아가서
  5. 병력을 나누고 야음을 틈 타 그 네 왕을 공격하였다. 그리고 다마스커스 북쪽 호바까지 그들을 추격하여
  1. The four kings seized all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah and all their food; then they went away.
  2. They also carried off Abram's nephew Lot and his possessions, since he was living in Sodom.
  3. One who had escaped came and reported this to Abram the Hebrew. Now Abram was living near the great trees of Mamre the Amorite, a brother of Eshcol and Aner, all of whom were allied with Abram.
  4. When Abram heard that his relative had been taken captive, he called out the 318 trained men born in his household and went in pursuit as far as Dan.
  5. During the night Abram divided his men to attack them and he routed them, pursuing them as far as Hobah, north of Damascus.
  1. 약탈당한 재물을 다시 빼앗아 오고 조카 롯과 그의 모든 소유와 붙잡혀 간 사람들을 모두 되찾아 왔다.
  2. 아브람이 그돌라오멜과 그와 동맹한 왕들을 쳐부수고 돌아올 때 소돔 왕이 왕의 골짜기라고도 하는 사웨 골짜기에 나와 그를 영접하였다.
  3. 그리고 살렘 왕이자 가장 높으신 하나님의 제사장이었던 멜기세덱은 빵과 포도주를 가지고 나와서
  4. 아브람을 축복하며 '우주를 창조하신 가장 높으신 하나님이 아브람을 축복하시기 원하며
  5. 그대에게 승리를 주신 가장 높으신 하나님이 찬양 받으시기 원하노라'고하였다. 그리고 아브람은 자기가 되찾아 온 모든 전리품의 10분의 1을 멜기세덱에게 주었다.
  1. He recovered all the goods and brought back his relative Lot and his possessions, together with the women and the other people.
  2. After Abram returned from defeating Kedorlaomer and the kings allied with him, the king of Sodom came out to meet him in the Valley of Shaveh (that is, the King's Valley).
  3. Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine. He was priest of God Most High,
  4. and he blessed Abram, saying, "Blessed be Abram by God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth.
  5. And blessed be God Most High, who delivered your enemies into your hand." Then Abram gave him a tenth of everything.
  1. 소돔 왕이 아브람에게 '사람은 나에게 보내고 물품은 당신이 가지시오' 하자
  2. 아브람이 소돔 왕에게 대답하였다 '우주를 창조하신 가장 높으신 하나님 여호와 앞에서 내가 맹세하지만
  3. 당신이 내가 아브람을 부자가 되게 하였다 라는 말을 하지 못하게 하기 위해서라도 내가 당신의 것은 신발끈이나 실오라기 하나 갖지 않겠소.
  4. 하지만 내 부하들이 먹은 것은 제외하겠소. 그리고 나와 함께 간 아넬과 에스골과 마므레의 몫은 그들이 갖도록 해 주시오'
  1. The king of Sodom said to Abram, "Give me the people and keep the goods for yourself."
  2. But Abram said to the king of Sodom, "I have raised my hand to the LORD, God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth, and have taken an oath
  3. that I will accept nothing belonging to you, not even a thread or the thong of a sandal, so that you will never be able to say, 'I made Abram rich.'
  4. I will accept nothing but what my men have eaten and the share that belongs to the men who went with me--to Aner, Eshcol and Mamre. Let them have their share."
 
  아브람과 맺은 언약(15:1-15:21)    
 
  1. 이후에 여호와께서 환상 가운데 아브람에게 말씀하셨다. '아브람아, 두려워하지 말아라. 내가 너를 지키고 너에게 큰 상을 주겠다'
  2. 그러나 아브람은 이렇게 대답하였다. '주 여호와여, 나는 자식이 없어 내 재산을 상속할 자가 다마스커스의 엘리에셀뿐입니다. 그런데 나에게 주의 상이 무슨 소용이 있겠습니까?
  3. 주께서 나에게 자식을 주시지 않았으므로 내 집안의 종이 내 상속자가 될 것입니다'
  4. 그때 여호와께서 '그 사람은 네 상속자가 되지 않을 것이며 네 몸에서 태어날 자가 네 상속자가 될 것이다' 하시고
  5. 그를 데리고 밖으로 나가서 이렇게 말씀하셨다. '하늘을 쳐다보고 별을 세어 보아라. 네 후손도 저 별들처럼 많을 것이다'
  1. After this, the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision: "Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward. "
  2. But Abram said, "O Sovereign LORD, what can you give me since I remain childless and the one who will inherit my estate is Eliezer of Damascus?"
  3. And Abram said, "You have given me no children; so a servant in my household will be my heir."
  4. Then the word of the LORD came to him: "This man will not be your heir, but a son coming from your own body will be your heir."
  5. He took him outside and said, "Look up at the heavens and count the stars--if indeed you can count them." Then he said to him, "So shall your offspring be."
  1. 아브람이 여호와를 믿었으므로 여호와께서는 이 믿음 때문에 그를 의롭게 여기셨다.
  2. 그리고 여호와께서 그에게 '나는 이 땅을 너에게 주려고 너를 갈대아 우르에서 이끌어낸 여호와이다' 하셨으나
  3. 아브람은 '주 여호와여, 주께서 이 땅을 나에게 주실 것을 내가 어떻게 알 수 있겠습니까?' 하고 물었다.
  4. 그러자 여호와께서 그에게 대답하셨다. '너는 암소와 암염소와 수양을 3년 된 것으로 각각 한 마리씩 나에게 가져오고 또 산비둘기 한 마리와 집비둘기 새끼 한 마리를 가져오너라'
  5. 그래서 아브람은 그 모든 것을 여호와께 가지고 가서 암소와 암염소와 수양을 반으로 쪼개 서로 마주 보게 놓고 새는 쪼개지 않았다.
  1. Abram believed the LORD, and he credited it to him as righteousness.
  2. He also said to him, "I am the LORD, who brought you out of Ur of the Chaldeans to give you this land to take possession of it."
  3. But Abram said, "O Sovereign LORD, how can I know that I will gain possession of it?"
  4. So the LORD said to him, "Bring me a heifer, a goat and a ram, each three years old, along with a dove and a young pigeon."
  5. Abram brought all these to him, cut them in two and arranged the halves opposite each other; the birds, however, he did not cut in half.
  1. 그리고 솔개들이 그 위에 앉으면 아브람은 그것들을 쫓아 버렸다.
  2. 해질 무렵 아브람은 깊은 잠이 들어 흑암의 공포에 사로잡히게 되었다.
  3. 그때 여호와께서 아브람에게 말씀하셨다. '네가 반드시 알아야 될 일이 있다. 네 후손들이 외국 땅에서 나그네가 되어 400년 동안 종살이하며 학대를 받을 것이다.
  4. 그러나 그들이 섬기는 나라를 내가 벌할 것이니 그 후에 네 후손들이 많은 재물을 가지고 그 나라에서 나올 것이다.
  5. 그리고 너는 장수하다가 평안히 죽어 묻힐 것이며
  1. Then birds of prey came down on the carcasses, but Abram drove them away.
  2. As the sun was setting, Abram fell into a deep sleep, and a thick and dreadful darkness came over him.
  3. Then the LORD said to him, "Know for certain that your descendants will be strangers in a country not their own, and they will be enslaved and mistreated four hundred years.
  4. But I will punish the nation they serve as slaves, and afterward they will come out with great possessions.
  5. You, however, will go to your fathers in peace and be buried at a good old age.
  1. 네 후손들은 4대 만에 이 땅으로 돌아올 것이다. 이것은 아직 아모리족의 죄가 절정에 달하지 않았으므로 그때까지는 내가 그들을 쫓아내지 않을 것이기 때문이다'
  2. 해가 져서 어두울 때에 연기 나는 화로가 보이며 밝게 타오르는 횃불이 쪼개 놓은 그 짐승의 사체 사이로 지나갔다.
  3. 그때 여호와께서 아브람에게 이렇게 약속하셨다. '내가 이집트 강에서부터 유프라테스강에 이르는 이 땅을 네 후손에게 주겠다.
  4. 그것은 겐족, 그니스족, 갓몬족,
  5. 헷족, 브리스족, 르바족,
  1. In the fourth generation your descendants will come back here, for the sin of the Amorites has not yet reached its full measure."
  2. When the sun had set and darkness had fallen, a smoking firepot with a blazing torch appeared and passed between the pieces.
  3. On that day the LORD made a covenant with Abram and said, "To your descendants I give this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the Euphrates-
  4. the land of the Kenites, Kenizzites, Kadmonites,
  5. Hittites, Perizzites, Rephaites,
  1. 아모리족, 가나안족, 기르가스족, 여부스족의 땅이다'
  1. Amorites, Canaanites, Girgashites and Jebusites."
