창세기 39:1-40:23

 애굽의 시위 대장 보디발의 집에 팔려 간 요셉은 하나님께서 함께하심으로 그 집의 가정 총무가 되었다. 요셉의 준수함을 본 보디발의 아내가 요셉을 유혹했으나, 하나님을 경외하는 요셉은 그 유혹을 거절하였다. 그 결과 그녀의 진노를 사게 된 요셉은 중죄수를 다루는 감옥에 갇히게 되었다. 그 곳에서 요셉은 술 관원장과 떡 관원장의 꿈을 풀어 주었다. 그러나 요셉이 해몽한 대로 감옥에서 풀려나 복직된 술 관원장은 요셉의 공로를 잊어버리고 말았다.
  
  보디발의 집에서의 요셉(39:1-39:23)    
 
  1. 이스마엘 사람들이 요셉을 이집트로 데려가자 바로의 신하이며 경호대장인 이집트 사람 보디발이 그를 샀다.
  2. 여호와께서 요셉과 함께 하시므로 그는 자기 주인의 집에 살면서 모든 일을 성공적으로 수행해 나갔다.
  3. 그 주인은 여호와께서 요셉과 함께 하셔서 그가 하는 일마다 잘되게 하시는 것을 보고
  4. 그를 기특하게 여기고 신임하여 자기 심복으로 삼고 가정의 모든 일과 자기 소유를 다 그에게 맡겼다.
  5. 그때부터 요셉을 위해 여호와께서 보디발의 집에 복을 내리시므로 그의 집안 일이 잘되고 재산이 날로 늘어갔다.
  1. Now Joseph had been taken down to Egypt. Potiphar, an Egyptian who was one of Pharaoh's officials, the captain of the guard, bought him from the Ishmaelites who had taken him there.
  2. The LORD was with Joseph and he prospered, and he lived in the house of his Egyptian master.
  3. When his master saw that the LORD was with him and that the LORD gave him success in everything he did,
  4. Joseph found favor in his eyes and became his attendant. Potiphar put him in charge of his household, and he entrusted to his care everything he owned.
  5. From the time he put him in charge of his household and of all that he owned, the LORD blessed the household of the Egyptian because of Joseph. The blessing of the LORD was on everything Potiphar had, both in the house and in the field.
  1. 그래서 주인은 그의 재산을 다 요셉에게 맡기고 자기가 먹는 음식 외에는 아무것도 간섭하지 않았다. 요셉은 건장하고 잘생긴 미남자였다.
  2. 어느 날 그 주인의 아내가 요셉에게 눈짓을 하며 함께 잠자리에 들자고 하였다.
  3. 그러나 요셉은 거절하며 이렇게 말하였다. '주인이 집안의 모든 것을 나에게 맡기고 아무것도 간섭하는 일이 없으니
  4. 이 집에는 나만한 권한을 가진 사람이 없습니다. 주인은 나에게 아무것도 금하지 않았지만 당신만은 금하셨습니다. 이것은 당신이 그의 아내이기 때문입니다. 그런데 내가 어떻게 감히 이런 악한 짓을 하여 하나님께 범죄할 수 있겠습니까?'
  5. 그녀는 날마다 요셉에게 치근거렸지만 요셉은 거절하며 그녀와 잠자리를 같이하지도 않고 그녀와 함께 있지도 않았다.
  1. So he left in Joseph's care everything he had; with Joseph in charge, he did not concern himself with anything except the food he ate. Now Joseph was well-built and handsome,
  2. and after a while his master's wife took notice of Joseph and said, "Come to bed with me!"
  3. But he refused. "With me in charge," he told her, "my master does not concern himself with anything in the house; everything he owns he has entrusted to my care.
  4. No one is greater in this house than I am. My master has withheld nothing from me except you, because you are his wife. How then could I do such a wicked thing and sin against God?"
  5. And though she spoke to Joseph day after day, he refused to go to bed with her or even be with her.
  1. 그러던 어느 날 요셉이 자기 업무를 수행하려고 그 집에 들어갔는데 그때 그 집 종들은 거기에 하나도 없었다.
  2. 그러자 그 여자가 요셉의 옷을 붙들고 '나와 함께 잠자리에 들자' 하였다. 그러나 요셉은 자기 옷을 그 여자의 손에 버려든 채 뿌리치고 밖으로 뛰쳐나갔다
  3. 그 여자는 요셉이 옷을 자기 손에 버려 둔 채 밖으로 달아나는 것을 보고
  4. 집안에 종들을 불러 말하였다 '이것 좀 보아라 주인이 데리고 온 이 히브리 사람이 우리를 희롱하였다. 그가 나를 겁탈하려고 내 방에 들어왔으나 내가 소리를 지르자
  5. 그의 옷을 내 곁에 벗어 든 채 달아나고 말았다.'
  1. One day he went into the house to attend to his duties, and none of the household servants was inside.
  2. She caught him by his cloak and said, "Come to bed with me!" But he left his cloak in her hand and ran out of the house.
  3. When she saw that he had left his cloak in her hand and had run out of the house,
  4. she called her household servants. "Look," she said to them, "this Hebrew has been brought to us to make sport of us! He came in here to sleep with me, but I screamed.
  5. When he heard me scream for help, he left his cloak beside me and ran out of the house."
  1. 그 여자는 요셉의 옷을 보관하고 있다가 주인이 집으로 돌아왔을 때
  2. 그에게 이렇게 말하였다. '당신이 데리고 온 히브리 종이 나를 희롱하려고 내 방으로 들어왔으나
  3. 내가 소리를 지르자 자기 옷을 내 곁에 벗어 두고 달아났습니다'
  4. 주인은 그 말을 듣고 대단히 화가 나서
  5. 요셉을 잡아 감옥에 처넣었는데 그 곳은 궁중 죄수들을 가두는 곳이었다. 요셉이 감옥에 갇혔으나
  1. She kept his cloak beside her until his master came home.
  2. Then she told him this story: "That Hebrew slave you brought us came to me to make sport of me.
  3. But as soon as I screamed for help, he left his cloak beside me and ran out of the house."
  4. When his master heard the story his wife told him, saying, "This is how your slave treated me," he burned with anger.
  5. Joseph's master took him and put him in prison, the place where the king's prisoners were confined. But while Joseph was there in the prison,
  1. 여호와께서 요셉과 함께 하시고 그를 축복하셔서 간수장의 사랑을 받게 하셨다.
  2. 그래서 간수장은 감옥의 죄수들을 다 요셉에게 맡기고 감옥 안의 제반 업무를 그가 치리하게 하였으며
  3. 요셉이 책임 맡은 일에 대해서는 전혀 간섭하지 않았다. 이것은 여호와께서 요셉과 함께 하셔서 그가 모든 일을 성공적으로 수행할 수 있도록 하셨기 때문이었다.
  1. the LORD was with him; he showed him kindness and granted him favor in the eyes of the prison warden.
  2. So the warden put Joseph in charge of all those held in the prison, and he was made responsible for all that was done there.
  3. The warden paid no attention to anything under Joseph's care, because the LORD was with Joseph and gave him success in whatever he did.
 
  요셉의 해몽(40:1-40:23)    
 
  1. 얼마 후에 이집트 왕의 술을 따르는 신하와 빵 굽는 신하가 자기 주인인 이집트 왕에게 범죄하였다.
  2. 그래서 바로는 그 두 신하에게 분노하여
  3. 그들을 경호대장의 집 안에 있는 감옥에 가두었는데 그 곳은 요셉이 갇혀 있는 곳이었다.
  4. 그리고 경호대장은 그들을 요셉에게 맡겨 요셉이 그들을 보살피도록 하였다. 그들이 갇힌 지 상당한 시간이 지난 어느 날
  5. 이집트 왕의 술을 따르는 신하와 빵 굽는 신하가 같은 날 밤에 서로 다른 꿈을 꾸었다.
  1. Some time later, the cupbearer and the baker of the king of Egypt offended their master, the king of Egypt.
  2. Pharaoh was angry with his two officials, the chief cupbearer and the chief baker,
  3. and put them in custody in the house of the captain of the guard, in the same prison where Joseph was confined.
  4. The captain of the guard assigned them to Joseph, and he attended them. After they had been in custody for some time,
  5. each of the two men--the cupbearer and the baker of the king of Egypt, who were being held in prison--had a dream the same night, and each dream had a meaning of its own.
  1. 다음 날 아침 요셉이 들어가보니 그들이 수심에 잠겨 있었다.
  2. 그래서 요셉이 그들에게 물었다. '오늘은 어째서 그처럼 수심에 잠겨 있습니까?'
  3. '우리가 꿈을 꾸었으나 해몽해 줄 사람이 없구나' '해몽은 하나님이 하시지 않습니까? 당신들의 꿈을 나에게 말씀해 주십시오'
  4. 그러자 왕의 술을 따르던 신하가 이렇게 말하였다. '내가 꿈에 보니 내 앞에 포도나무가 있는데
  5. 그 나무에 세 가지가 있고 그것이 싹이 나자마자 꽃이 피고 포도송이가 달려 곧 익었다.
  1. When Joseph came to them the next morning, he saw that they were dejected.
  2. So he asked Pharaoh's officials who were in custody with him in his master's house, "Why are your faces so sad today?"
  3. "We both had dreams," they answered, "but there is no one to interpret them." Then Joseph said to them, "Do not interpretations belong to God? Tell me your dreams."
  4. So the chief cupbearer told Joseph his dream. He said to him, "In my dream I saw a vine in front of me,
  5. and on the vine were three branches. As soon as it budded, it blossomed, and its clusters ripened into grapes.
  1. 그리고 나는 이때 왕의 술잔을 들고 있었다. 그래서 내가 그 포도를 따서 포도즙을 만들어 왕의 술잔에 붓고 그것을 왕에게 갖다 드렸다'
  2. 그때 요셉은 그 꿈을 이렇게 해석하였다 '세 개의 그 포도나무 가지는 3일을 뜻합니다
  3. 지금부터 3일 안에 왕이 당신을 석방하여 당신의 전직을 회복시켜 주실 것입니다. 당신은 전에 하던 것처럼 왕에게 다시 술을 따르게 될 것입니다.
  4. 당신의 모든 일이 잘되거든 나를 기억하셔서, 나에게 은혜를 베풀어 내 사정을 왕에게 말씀드리고 나를 이 감옥에서 나가도록 해 주십시오.
  5. 나는 히브리 땅에서 강제로 끌려왔으며 여기서도 감옥에 갇힐 만한 일은 하지 않았습니다'
  1. Pharaoh's cup was in my hand, and I took the grapes, squeezed them into Pharaoh's cup and put the cup in his hand."
  2. "This is what it means," Joseph said to him. "The three branches are three days.
  3. Within three days Pharaoh will lift up your head and restore you to your position, and you will put Pharaoh's cup in his hand, just as you used to do when you were his cupbearer.
  4. But when all goes well with you, remember me and show me kindness; mention me to Pharaoh and get me out of this prison.
  5. For I was forcibly carried off from the land of the Hebrews, and even here I have done nothing to deserve being put in a dungeon."
  1. 빵 굽던 신하가 요셉이 그 꿈을 좋게 해석하는 것을 보고 그에게 말하였다. '나도 꿈을 꾸었는데 빵을 담은 광주리 세 개가 내 머리 위에 있고
  2. 제일 윗 광주리에는 왕을 위해 만든 여러 가지 구운 음식이 있었으나 새들이 그것을 먹고 있었다.'
  3. 그러자 요셉이 그 꿈을 이렇게 해석하였다. '그 세 광주리는 3일을 뜻합니다.
  4. 지금부터 3일 안에 왕이 당신을 감옥에서 끌어내어 당신을 나무에 매달 것입니다. 그리고 새들이 당신의 시체를 뜯어먹을 것입니다'
  5. 그로부터 3일째가 되던 날은 바로의 생일이었다. 그래서 그는 모든 신하들을 위해 잔치를 베풀고 술을 따르던 신하와 빵 굽던 신하를 감옥에서 풀어내어 신하들 앞에 세웠다.
  1. When the chief baker saw that Joseph had given a favorable interpretation, he said to Joseph, "I too had a dream: On my head were three baskets of bread.
  2. In the top basket were all kinds of baked goods for Pharaoh, but the birds were eating them out of the basket on my head."
  3. "This is what it means," Joseph said. "The three baskets are three days.
  4. Within three days Pharaoh will lift off your head and hang you on a tree. And the birds will eat away your flesh."
  5. Now the third day was Pharaoh's birthday, and he gave a feast for all his officials. He lifted up the heads of the chief cupbearer and the chief baker in the presence of his officials:
  1. 그리고서 왕은 술 따르던 신하의 전직을 회복시켜 다시 술을 따르게 하고
  2. 빵 굽던 신하는 나무에 매달아 처형시켰다. 이와 같이 모든 일이 요셉의 말대로 되었으나
  3. 술 따르는 신하는 요셉을 까마득하게 잊어버리고 기억하지 않았다.
  1. He restored the chief cupbearer to his position, so that he once again put the cup into Pharaoh's hand,
  2. but he hanged the chief baker, just as Joseph had said to them in his interpretation.
  3. The chief cupbearer, however, did not remember Joseph; he forgot him.
 
  득의(得意, 40:14)  일이 잘됨
