출애굽기 13:1-14:31

 하나님께서 이스라엘 백성들에게 무교절과 초태생 규례를 지키라고 말씀하셨다. 이는 그들이 애굽의 장자 사망의 재앙중에서 무사히 탈출하게 된 것을 기념하기 위해서였다. 하나님께서는 그들에게 불과 구름 기둥으로 임재하셔서 홍해의 광야 길로 인도하셨다. 마음이 강퍅하게 된 바로가 백성들을 추격했으나 하나님께서 모세의 지팡이로 홍해를 갈라지게 하여 구원하셨다.
  
  무교절과 초태생 규례(13:1-13:22)    
 
  1. 여호와께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다.
  2. '이스라엘 자손 가운데서 사람이나 짐승이나 첫태생은 다 거룩히 구별하여 바쳐라. 이것은 내 것이다.'
  3. 그래서 모세는 백성들에게 이렇게 말하였다. '여러분은 종살이하던 땅 이집트에서 나온 이 날을 기념하십시오. 여호와께서는 큰 능력으로 여러분을 인도해 내셨습니다. 그러니 여러분은 누룩 넣은 빵을 먹어서는 안 됩니다.
  4. 여호와께서 여러분을 가나안족, 헷족, 아모리족, 히위족, 여부스족의 땅, 곧 여러분에게 주시겠다고 여러분의 조상들에게 약속하신 기름지고 비옥한 땅으로 인도하시거든 이 달에 여러분이 탈출해 나온 날을 기념하십시오.
  5. (4절과 같음)
  1. The LORD said to Moses,
  2. "Consecrate to me every firstborn male. The first offspring of every womb among the Israelites belongs to me, whether man or animal."
  3. Then Moses said to the people, "Commemorate this day, the day you came out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery, because the LORD brought you out of it with a mighty hand. Eat nothing containing yeast.
  4. Today, in the month of Abib, you are leaving.
  5. When the LORD brings you into the land of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Hivites and Jebusites--the land he swore to your forefathers to give you, a land flowing with milk and honey--you are to observe this ceremony in this month:
  1. 여러분은 7일 동안 누룩 넣지 않은 빵을 먹고 7일째 되는 날에는 여호와께 축제를 드려야 합니다.
  2. 7일 동안 여러분은 줄곧 누룩을 넣지 않은 빵만 먹어야 하며 누룩이나 누룩 넣은 빵을 여러분의 야영지 안에 두어서는 안 됩니다.
  3. 그 날에 여러분은 자녀들에게 이런 의식을 갖게 된 것은 여러분이 이집트를 떠나올 때 여호와께서 여러분을 위해 행하신 일 때문이라고 설명하십시오.

  1. For seven days eat bread made without yeast and on the seventh day hold a festival to the LORD.
  2. Eat unleavened bread during those seven days; nothing with yeast in it is to be seen among you, nor shall any yeast be seen anywhere within your borders.
  3. On that day tell your son, 'I do this because of what the LORD did for me when I came out of Egypt.'
  4. This observance will be for you like a sign on your hand and a reminder on your forehead that the law of the LORD is to be on your lips. For the LORD brought you out of Egypt with his mighty hand.
  5. You must keep this ordinance at the appointed time year after year.
  1. 여호와께서 여러분과 여러분의 조상들에게 약속하신 대로 여러분을 가나안 사람의 땅으로 인도하여 그 땅을 여러분에게 주시거든
  2. 여러분은 사람이나 짐승의 첫태생을 구별하여 여호와께 바치십시오. 처음 난 짐승의 수컷은 다 여호와의 것입니다.
  3. 그러나 나귀의 첫 새끼는 어린 양으로 대신 바치십시오. 만일 어린 양으로 대신 바치고 싶지 않으면 여러분은 그 나귀의 목을 꺾어야 합니다. 그리고 여러분의 아들 가운데 장남에 대해서는 몸값을 지불하고 다시 사야 합니다.
  4. 앞으로 여러분의 아들이 무엇 때문에 이렇게 하느냐고 물으면 여러분은 이렇게 대답하십시오. 여호와께서는 우리를 큰 능력으로 종살이하던 이집트에서 인도해 내셨다.
  5. 그때 바로가 완강하게 거절하며 우리를 보내 주지 않았으므로 여호와께서 사람이나 짐승을 가리지 않고 이집트의 첫태생을 모조리 죽이셨다. 그래서 우리가 처음 난 짐승의 수컷은 모두 여호와께 바치고 우리 장남에 대해서는 다 몸값을 치르고 있다.
  1. "After the LORD brings you into the land of the Canaanites and gives it to you, as he promised on oath to you and your forefathers,
  2. you are to give over to the LORD the first offspring of every womb. All the firstborn males of your livestock belong to the LORD.
  3. Redeem with a lamb every firstborn donkey, but if you do not redeem it, break its neck. Redeem every firstborn among your sons.
  4. "In days to come, when your son asks you, 'What does this mean?' say to him, 'With a mighty hand the LORD brought us out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.
  5. When Pharaoh stubbornly refused to let us go, the LORD killed every firstborn in Egypt, both man and animal. This is why I sacrifice to the LORD the first male offspring of every womb and redeem each of my firstborn sons.'
  1. 이렇게 함으로써 우리는 여호와께서 큰 능력으로 우리를 이집트에서 인도해내신 그 날을 항상 기억하게 된단다'
  2. 바로가 백성들을 보냈을 때 하나님은 블레셋 사람의 땅을 거쳐가는 것이 가까운데도 그들을 그 길로 인도하지 않으셨다. 이것은 그들이 전쟁을 보면 마음이 변해 이집트로 되돌아갈 것이라고 생각하셨기 때문이었다.
  3. 그래서 하나님은 백성들을 홍해의 광야 길로 돌아가게 하셨다. 그리고 이스라엘 백성들은 이집트에서 나올 때 군 대열로 지어 나왔다.
  4. 모세는 요셉의 유물을 가지고 나왔는데 이것은 요셉이 이스라엘 자손들에게 맹세까지 시키면서 '하나님이 너희를 구출하시면 너희는 내 유골을 여기서 가지고 나가거라' 하였기 때문이었다.
  5. 이스라엘 백성은 숙곳을 떠나 광야 끝이 있는 에담에 천막을 쳤다.
  1. And it will be like a sign on your hand and a symbol on your forehead that the LORD brought us out of Egypt with his mighty hand."
  2. When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them on the road through the Philistine country, though that was shorter. For God said, "If they face war, they might change their minds and return to Egypt."
  3. So God led the people around by the desert road toward the Red Sea. The Israelites went up out of Egypt armed for battle.
  4. Moses took the bones of Joseph with him because Joseph had made the sons of Israel swear an oath. He had said, "God will surely come to your aid, and then you must carry my bones up with you from this place."
  5. After leaving Succoth they camped at Etham on the edge of the desert.
  1. 여호와께서 낮에는 구름 기둥으로 그들을 인도하시고 밤에는 불 기둥으로 그들의 길을 비추셔서 밤낮 나아갈 수 있게 하셨으므로
  2. 낮에는 구름 기둥, 밤에는 불 기둥이 백성들 앞에서 떠나지 않았다.
  1. By day the LORD went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel by day or night.
  2. Neither the pillar of cloud by day nor the pillar of fire by night left its place in front of the people.
 
  홍해 사건(14:1-14:31)    
 
  1. 여호와께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다.
  2. '너는 이스라엘 백성을 되돌려 믹돌과 바다 사이의 비-하히롯 앞, 곧 바알-스본 맞은편 바닷가에 천막을 치게 하라.
  3. 바로는 이스라엘 백성이 광야에 갇혀서 사방 헤매고 있는 것으로 생각할 것이다.
  4. 내가 바로를 완강하게 할 것이니 그가 너희를 추격할 것이다. 그러나 내가 바로와 그의 군대를 통해서 영광을 얻을 것이다. 그러면 이집트 사람들이 내가 여호와임을 알 것이다.' 그래서 이스라엘 백성은 여호와의 말씀대로 하였다.
  5. 이집트 왕은 이스라엘 백성이 도망쳤다는 말을 듣고 그의 신하들과 함께 마음이 변하여 '우리가 어째서 이런 짓을 하여 우리에게 종살이하던 이스라엘 백성을 놓아 주었는가?' 하며
  1. Then the LORD said to Moses,
  2. "Tell the Israelites to turn back and encamp near Pi Hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea. They are to encamp by the sea, directly opposite Baal Zephon.
  3. Pharaoh will think, 'The Israelites are wandering around the land in confusion, hemmed in by the desert.'
  4. And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, and he will pursue them. But I will gain glory for myself through Pharaoh and all his army, and the Egyptians will know that I am the LORD." So the Israelites did this.
  5. When the king of Egypt was told that the people had fled, Pharaoh and his officials changed their minds about them and said, "What have we done? We have let the Israelites go and have lost their services!"
  1. 곧 자기 전차를 갖추어 군대를 이끌고 추격에 나섰다.
  2. 이집트 장교들이 이끄는 제일 우수한 전차 600대를 포함한 모든 전차들이 그 뒤를 따랐다.
  3. 여호와께서 이집트 왕 바로의 마음을 돌처럼 굳게 하셨으므로 그가 당당하게 나아가고 있는 이스라엘 백성을 추격하였다.
  4. 말과 전차와 마병이 동원된 이집트군은 추격을 계속한 끝에 이스라엘 백성이 천막을 치고 있는 바알-스본 맞은편 비-하히롯 근처의 바닷가에 이르렀다.
  5. 이스라엘 백성이 바라보니 바로와 그 군대가 접근해 오고 있었다. 그러자 그들은 두려워하여 여호와께 도와 달라고 부르짖다가
  1. So he had his chariot made ready and took his army with him.
  2. He took six hundred of the best chariots, along with all the other chariots of Egypt, with officers over all of them.
  3. The LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, so that he pursued the Israelites, who were marching out boldly.
  4. The Egyptians--all Pharaoh's horses and chariots, horsemen and troops--pursued the Israelites and overtook them as they camped by the sea near Pi Hahiroth, opposite Baal Zephon.
  5. As Pharaoh approached, the Israelites looked up, and there were the Egyptians, marching after them. They were terrified and cried out to the LORD.
  1. 모세에게 이렇게 말하였다. '이집트에 매장지가 없어서 당신이 우리를 이 광야로 끌어내어 죽이려 합니까? 무엇 때문에 당신이 우리를 이집트에서 끌어내어 이 꼴을 당하게 합니까?
  2. 우리가 이집트에서 당신에게 이집트 사람을 섬길 수 있도록 내버려 달라고 하지 않았습니까? 이집트 사람을 섬기는 것이 광야에서 죽는 것보다는 낫겠습니다.'
  3. 그래서 모세가 백성들에게 대답하였다. '여러분은 두려워하지 말고 가만히 서서 오늘 여호와께서 여러분을 구하기 위해 행하시는 일을 보십시오. 여러분이 오늘 보는 이 이집트 사람들을 다시는 보지 못할 것입니다.
  4. 여호와께서 여러분을 위해 싸우실 것입니다. 그러니 여러분은 가만히 계십시오'
  5. 그때 여호와께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다. '너는 어째서 나에게 부르짖느냐? 이스라엘 백성에게 앞으로 나아가라고 말하라.
  1. They said to Moses, "Was it because there were no graves in Egypt that you brought us to the desert to die? What have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt?
  2. Didn't we say to you in Egypt, 'Leave us alone; let us serve the Egyptians'? It would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the desert!"
  3. Moses answered the people, "Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again.
  4. The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still."
  5. Then the LORD said to Moses, "Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on.
  1. 그리고 너는 네 지팡이를 들고 손을 바다 위로 내밀어 물이 갈라지게 하라. 그러면 이스라엘 백성이 마른 땅을 밟고 바다를 지나갈 것이다.
  2. 내가 이집트 사람들의 마음을 돌처럼 굳게 할 것이니 그들이 그 뒤를 따라 들어갈 것이다. 내가 바로와 그의 모든 군대, 곧 그의 전차와 마병을 통해서 영광을 얻을
  3. 그 때에 이집트 사람들이 내가 여호와임을 알게 될 것이다.'
  4. 앞에서 이스라엘 백성을 인도하던 하나님의 천사가 그들 뒤로 가자 구름 기둥도 앞에서 뒤로 옮겨
  5. 이집트군과 이스라엘 사람 사이에 섰는데 이것이 이집트 사람들에게는 흑암을 던져 주었고 이스라엘 사람들에게는 빛을 비춰 주었다. 그래서 밤새도록 이집트군이 이스라엘 진영에 접근하지 못하였다.
  1. Raise your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea to divide the water so that the Israelites can go through the sea on dry ground.
  2. I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians so that they will go in after them. And I will gain glory through Pharaoh and all his army, through his chariots and his horsemen.
  3. The Egyptians will know that I am the LORD when I gain glory through Pharaoh, his chariots and his horsemen."
  4. Then the angel of God, who had been traveling in front of Israel's army, withdrew and went behind them. The pillar of cloud also moved from in front and stood behind them,
  5. coming between the armies of Egypt and Israel. Throughout the night the cloud brought darkness to the one side and light to the other side; so neither went near the other all night long.
  1. 모세가 바다 위에 손을 내밀자 여호와께서 밤새도록 강한 동풍을 불게 하셔서 바닷물을 물러가게 하셨으므로 바다가 갈라져 마른 땅이 되었다.
  2. 이스라엘 백성이 좌우 물벽 사이로 마른 땅을 밟고 바다를 건너가자
  3. 이집트군이 말과 전차를 몰고 마병들과 함께 이스라엘 사람을 추격하여 바다 가운데로 들어왔다.
  4. 새벽에 여호와께서 불,구름 기둥 가운데서 이집트군을 내려다보시고 그들을 혼란 가운데 빠뜨리셨다.
  5. 여호와께서 그들의 전차 바퀴가 빠져 달아나게 하셔서 달리는 데 어려움을 겪게 하시자 이집트 사람들이 '여기서 달아나자! 여호와가 우리를 쳐서 이스라엘 사람을 위해 싸우고 있다.' 하고 외쳤다.
  1. Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the LORD drove the sea back with a strong east wind and turned it into dry land. The waters were divided,
  2. and the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left.
  3. The Egyptians pursued them, and all Pharaoh's horses and chariots and horsemen followed them into the sea.
  4. During the last watch of the night the LORD looked down from the pillar of fire and cloud at the Egyptian army and threw it into confusion.
  5. He made the wheels of their chariots come off so that they had difficulty driving. And the Egyptians said, "Let's get away from the Israelites! The LORD is fighting for them against Egypt."
  1. 그때 여호와께서 모세에게 '네 손을 바다 위로 내밀어 물이 이집트 사람과 그들의 전차와 마병 위에 다시 흐르게 하라' 하고 말씀하셨다.
  2. 그래서 모세가 손을 바다 위로 내밀자 새벽의 바닷물이 원상태로 되돌아왔다. 이집트 사람들이 물에서 도망하려고 하였지만 여호와께서는 그들을 바다 가운데 뒤집어 엎으셨다.
  3. 이와 같이 물이 다시 흘러 이스라엘 백성을 뒤쫓아 바다에 들어간 전차와 마병과 바로의 모든 군대를 덮어 버렸으므로 그들 가운데 한사람도 살아 남은 자가 없었다.
  4. 그러나 이스라엘 백성은 좌우 물벽 사이로 마른 땅을 밟고 바다를 건너왔다.
  5. 그 날 여호와께서 이스라엘 백성을 이집트 사람의 손에서 구원하셨으므로 이스라엘 사람들은 이집트 사람들의 시체가 바닷가에 널려 있는 것을 보았다.
  1. Then the LORD said to Moses, "Stretch out your hand over the sea so that the waters may flow back over the Egyptians and their chariots and horsemen."
  2. Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and at daybreak the sea went back to its place. The Egyptians were fleeing toward it, and the LORD swept them into the sea.
  3. The water flowed back and covered the chariots and horsemen--the entire army of Pharaoh that had followed the Israelites into the sea. Not one of them survived.
  4. But the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left.
  5. That day the LORD saved Israel from the hands of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians lying dead on the shore.
  1. 이스라엘 백성은 여호와께서 이집트 사람들에게 행하신 큰 일을 보고 여호와를 두려워하며 여호와와 그의 종 모세를 믿었다.
  1. And when the Israelites saw the great power the LORD displayed against the Egyptians, the people feared the LORD and put their trust in him and in Moses his servant.
