신명기 31:1-32:47

 임종이 가까웠음을 안 모세는 자신의 뒤를 이어 백성들을 가나안으로 인도할 지도자로서 여호수아를 세우고 그를 격려한 후, 모든 율법을 기록하여 제사장과 장로들에게 전수하고 그것을 힘써 지킬 것을 당부했다. 그리고 자기가 죽은 후에 이스라엘 백성들이 불신앙과 우상 숭배로 인해 재앙을 당할 것임을 예언하고 이에 대한 노래를 지어 백성들에게 가르쳤다.
  
  후계자 여호수아의 임명(31:1-31:30)    
 
  1. 모세는 계속해서 이스라엘 백성에게 말하였다.
  2. '내가 내 나이가 120세나 되어 더 이상 여러분을 인도할 수 없게 되었습니다. 그리고 여호와께서도 내가 요단강을 건너가지 못할 것이라고 말씀하셨습니다.
  3. 그러나 여러분의 하나님 여호와께서 여러분보다 먼저 요단강을 건너가셔서 거기 살고 있는 민족들을 멸망시키시고 여러분이 그 땅을 점령할 수 있도록 하실 것입니다. 그리고 여호와께서 말씀하신 대로 여호수아가 여러분의 새 지도자가 될 것입니다.
  4. 여호와께서는 아모리 사람들의 왕 시혼과 옥에게 행하신 것처럼 그들을 멸망시켜
  5. 여러분의 손에 넘겨 주실 것입니다. 그러므로 여러분은 내가 명령한 대로 그들에게 해야 합니다.
  1. Then Moses went out and spoke these words to all Israel:
  2. "I am now a hundred and twenty years old and I am no longer able to lead you. The LORD has said to me, 'You shall not cross the Jordan.'
  3. The LORD your God himself will cross over ahead of you. He will destroy these nations before you, and you will take possession of their land. Joshua also will cross over ahead of you, as the LORD said.
  4. And the LORD will do to them what he did to Sihon and Og, the kings of the Amorites, whom he destroyed along with their land.
  5. The LORD will deliver them to you, and you must do to them all that I have commanded you.
  1. 여러분은 마음을 굳게 먹고 용기를 가지십시오! 그들을 두려워하거나 그들 앞에서 떨지 마십시오! 여러분의 하나님 여호와께서 여러분과 함께 하실 것이며 여러분을 떠나지 않고 여러분을 버리지 않으실 것입니다.'
  2. 그리고 나서 모세는 이스라엘 백성이 다 지켜보는 가운데 여호수아를 불러 이렇게 말하였다. '너는 마음을 굳게 먹고 용기를 가져라! 네가 이 백성을 인도하여 여호와께서 그들의 조상들에게 약속하신 땅으로 들어가 그 땅을 정복해야 한다.
  3. 여호와께서 직접 너를 인도하시고 너와 함께 하실 것이며 너를 버리거나 떠나지 않으실 것이다. 그러므로 너는 두려워하거나 낙심하지 말아라.'
  4. 그 후 모세는 이 모든 율법을 기록하여 여호와의 법궤를 운반하는 레위 자손의 제사장들과 이스라엘의 모든 지도자들에게 주고
  5. 그들에게 이렇게 명령하였다. '여러분은 매 7년에 마지막 해, 곧 모든 빚을 면제해 주는 해의 초막절에 백성들이 여호와께서 예배처로 정하신 곳으로 다 모이면 그들에게 이 법을 낭독해 주십시오.
  1. Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you."
  2. Then Moses summoned Joshua and said to him in the presence of all Israel, "Be strong and courageous, for you must go with this people into the land that the LORD swore to their forefathers to give them, and you must divide it among them as their inheritance.
  3. The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged."
  4. So Moses wrote down this law and gave it to the priests, the sons of Levi, who carried the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and to all the elders of Israel.
  5. Then Moses commanded them: "At the end of every seven years, in the year for canceling debts, during the Feast of Tabernacles,

  2. 여러분은 아이들을 포함한 백성의 모든 남녀와 여러분의 성에 사는 외국인을 모두 불러모아 그 법을 듣고 배우게 하여 여러분의 하나님 여호와를 두려운 마음으로 섬기고 그분의 말씀에 따라 살게 하십시오.
  3. 그리고 이 법을 알지 못하는 여러분의 어린 자녀들에게도 이것을 들려 주어 여러분이 약속의 땅에 사는 동안 그들도 여러분의 하나님 여호와를 두려운 마음으로 섬기는 법을 배우게 하십시오.'
  4. 그 후 여호와께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다. '이제 너는 죽을 때가 다 되었다. 너는 여호수아를 데리고 성막으로 오너라. 내가 그에게 지시할 것이 있다.' 그래서 모세와 여호수아가 성막으로 들어 가자

  1. when all Israel comes to appear before the LORD your God at the place he will choose, you shall read this law before them in their hearing.
  2. Assemble the people--men, women and children, and the aliens living in your towns--so they can listen and learn to fear the LORD your God and follow carefully all the words of this law.
  3. Their children, who do not know this law, must hear it and learn to fear the LORD your God as long as you live in the land you are crossing the Jordan to possess."
  4. The LORD said to Moses, "Now the day of your death is near. Call Joshua and present yourselves at the Tent of Meeting, where I will commission him." So Moses and Joshua came and presented themselves at the Tent of Meeting.
  5. Then the LORD appeared at the Tent in a pillar of cloud, and the cloud stood over the entrance to the Tent.
  1. 모세에게 말씀하셨다. '너는 곧 죽게 될 것이다. 그러나 네가 죽은 다음에는 이 백성이 들어가 살 그 땅에서 이방 신을 섬기고 나를 잊어 버릴 것이며 내가 그들과 세운 계약을 어길 것이다.
  2. 그러면 내가 그들에게 노하여 그들을 저버리고 외면할 것이니 그들은 멸망할 것이다. 많은 재앙과 환난이 그들에게 밀어닥치면 그들은 자기들의 하나님인 내가 그들과 함께 하지 않기 때문에 이 모든 일이 그들에게 일어나는 것을 깨닫게 될 것이다.
  3. 그들이 다른 신을 섬기고 악을 행하므로 내가 그들을 외면해 버릴 것이다.
  4. 이제 너는 이 노래를 기록하고 이스라엘 백성에게 가르쳐서 부르게 하여 그들에 대한 내 경고가 되게 하라.
  5. 내가 그들의 조상들에게 약속한 대로 기름지고 비옥한 땅으로 그들을 인도한 후 그들이 배불리 먹고 편안히 살게 될 때 그들은 다른 신들을 섬기고 나를 멸시하며 나와 맺은 계약을 어길 것이다.
  1. And the LORD said to Moses: "You are going to rest with your fathers, and these people will soon prostitute themselves to the foreign gods of the land they are entering. They will forsake me and break the covenant I made with them.
  2. On that day I will become angry with them and forsake them; I will hide my face from them, and they will be destroyed. Many disasters and difficulties will come upon them, and on that day they will ask, 'Have not these disasters come upon us because our God is not with us?'
  3. And I will certainly hide my face on that day because of all their wickedness in turning to other gods.
  4. "Now write down for yourselves this song and teach it to the Israelites and have them sing it, so that it may be a witness for me against them.
  5. When I have brought them into the land flowing with milk and honey, the land I promised on oath to their forefathers, and when they eat their fill and thrive, they will turn to other gods and worship them, rejecting me and breaking my covenant.
  1. 많은 재앙과 환난이 그들에게 닥치면 이 노래가 그들에게 증거가 될 것이다. 이것은 그들의 자손이 이 노래를 잊지 않을 것이기 때문이다. 나는 그들을 약속의 땅으로 인도하기도 전에 그들이 생각하고 있는 것을 벌써 다 알고 있다.
  2. 그래서 바로 그 날 모세는 이 노래를 기록하여 이스라엘 백성에게 가르쳤다

  1. And when many disasters and difficulties come upon them, this song will testify against them, because it will not be forgotten by their descendants. I know what they are disposed to do, even before I bring them into the land I promised them on oath."
  2. So Moses wrote down this song that day and taught it to the Israelites.
  3. The LORD gave this command to Joshua son of Nun: "Be strong and courageous, for you will bring the Israelites into the land I promised them on oath, and I myself will be with you."
  4. After Moses finished writing in a book the words of this law from beginning to end,
  5. he gave this command to the Levites who carried the ark of the covenant of the LORD :
  1. 여러분은 여호와의 법이 기록되어 있는 이 책을 여러분의 하나님 여호와의 법궤 곁에 두어 이스라엘 백성에게 경고가 되게 하십시오.
  2. 나는 여러분이 얼마나 고집을 피우며 거역하는지 잘 알고 있습니다. 내가 지금 살아서 여러분과 함께 있는 동안에도 여러분이 여호와를 거역하는데 내가 죽으면 얼마나 더 하겠습니까!
  3. 지금 여러분은 각 지파의 지도자들과 사무원들을 내 앞에 불러모으십시오. 내가 그들에게 이 말씀을 들려주고 하늘과 땅을 그들의 증인으로 삼겠습니다.
  4. 내가 죽은 후에 여러분이 부패해져서 내 명령을 저버릴 것으로 나는 알고 있습니다. 여러분이 여호와께서 금하신 악을 행하여 여호와를 노하게 할 것이므로 후일에 여러분에게 재앙이 닥칠 것입니다.'
  5. 그리고서 모세는 이스라엘 백성이 다 들을 수 있도록 이 노래를 처음부터 끝까지 낭송하였다.
  1. "Take this Book of the Law and place it beside the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God. There it will remain as a witness against you.
  2. For I know how rebellious and stiff-necked you are. If you have been rebellious against the LORD while I am still alive and with you, how much more will you rebel after I die!
  3. Assemble before me all the elders of your tribes and all your officials, so that I can speak these words in their hearing and call heaven and earth to testify against them.
  4. For I know that after my death you are sure to become utterly corrupt and to turn from the way I have commanded you. In days to come, disaster will fall upon you because you will do evil in the sight of the LORD and provoke him to anger by what your hands have made."
  5. And Moses recited the words of this song from beginning to end in the hearing of the whole assembly of Israel:
 
  모세의 노래(32:1-32:47)    
 
  1. '하늘이여, 땅이여, 내 말을 들어라!
  2. 내 교훈은 비처럼 내리고 이슬처럼 맺히며 연한 풀밭 위에 내리는 보슬비요 채소에 내리는 단비라네.
  3. 내가 여호와의 이름을 선포하리니 너희는 우리 하나님의 위대하심을 찬양하라!
  4. 그는 반석이시요, 그의 일은 안전하며 그가 하는 모든 일이 공정하니 그는 진실하고 정직한 분이시다.
  5. 이스라엘이 부패하여 악을 행하니 이제 하나님의 자녀가 아니요, 고집스럽고 비뚤어진 민족이구나.
  1. Listen, O heavens, and I will speak; hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.
  2. Let my teaching fall like rain and my words descend like dew, like showers on new grass, like abundant rain on tender plants.
  3. I will proclaim the name of the LORD. Oh, praise the greatness of our God!
  4. He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he.
  5. They have acted corruptly toward him; to their shame they are no longer his children, but a warped and crooked generation.
  1. 어리석고 미련한 백성들아, 이것이 여호와께 보답하는 길이냐? 그는 너희 아버지요 창조주가 아니시냐? 그가 너희를 강한 민족으로 세우셨다.
  2. 지난날을 회상해 보아라! 과거의 모든 역사를 생각해 보아라! 너희 부모들과 나이 많은 어른들에게 물어 보아라! 그들이 너희에게 설명해 줄 것이다.
  3. 하나님이 모든 민족들에게 땅을 나누어 주실 때, 모든 인종을 구분하실 때에, 각 민족들의 경계를 정하셨다.
  4. 여호와께서 이스라엘을 택하셨으니 야곱의 후손이 그의 백성이 되었네.
  5. 여호와께서 사막 같은 땅에서, 짐승이 울부짖는 광야에서, 그들을 자기 눈동자처럼 보호하고 지켜 주셨으니
  1. Is this the way you repay the LORD, O foolish and unwise people? Is he not your Father, your Creator, who made you and formed you?
  2. Remember the days of old; consider the generations long past. Ask your father and he will tell you, your elders, and they will explain to you.
  3. When the Most High gave the nations their inheritance, when he divided all mankind, he set up boundaries for the peoples according to the number of the sons of Israel.
  4. For the LORD's portion is his people, Jacob his allotted inheritance.
  5. In a desert land he found him, in a barren and howling waste. He shielded him and cared for him; he guarded him as the apple of his eye,
  1. 독수리가 그 보금자리를 흔들어 새끼가 떨어지면 날개를 펴서 새끼를 받아올리듯 하셨네.
  2. 여호와께서 자기 백성을 혼자 인도하셨다. 그들을 도와준 다른 신이 없었다.
  3. 여호와께서 기름진 고원을 그들에게 주셔서 그들이 밭의 농산물을 먹게 하시고 바위에서 꿀을 빨게 하시며 단단한 바위에서 기름을 얻게 하셨다.
  4. 그가 우유와 고기를 주시고 살진 양과 염소와 좋은 밀을 먹게 하시며 맛있는 포도주를 마시게 하셨네.
  5. 이스라엘이 살찌고 비대하며 윤택해지자 자기를 창조하신 하나님을 저버리고, 자기들의 반석 되신 구원자를 멸시하였다.
  1. like an eagle that stirs up its nest and hovers over its young, that spreads its wings to catch them and carries them on its pinions.
  2. The LORD alone led him; no foreign god was with him.
  3. He made him ride on the heights of the land and fed him with the fruit of the fields. He nourished him with honey from the rock, and with oil from the flinty crag,
  4. with curds and milk from herd and flock and with fattened lambs and goats, with choice rams of Bashan and the finest kernels of wheat. You drank the foaming blood of the grape.
  5. Jeshurun grew fat and kicked; filled with food, he became heavy and sleek. He abandoned the God who made him and rejected the Rock his Savior.
  1. 그들이 이방신을 섬기므로 여호와께서 질투하시고, 그들이 악을 행하므로 여호와께서 분노하셨다.
  2. 그들이 하나님이 아닌 마귀에게 제사하였으니 그들이 알지 못한 신, 최근에 나타난 신, 그들의 조상들이 두려워하지 않은 신이었다.
  3. 그들은 자기들을 낳은 반석 되신 하나님을 잊어버렸다.
  4. 여호와께서 이것을 보시고 그들을 미워하셨으니 그의 자녀들이 그를 노하게 하셨음이다.
  5. 여호와께서 이런 말씀을 하셨다. '내가 그들을 외면하고 그들의 종말을 지켜볼 것이니 그들은 악하고 신실하지 못한 백성임이다.
  1. They made him jealous with their foreign gods and angered him with their detestable idols.
  2. They sacrificed to demons, which are not God-- gods they had not known, gods that recently appeared, gods your fathers did not fear.
  3. You deserted the Rock, who fathered you; you forgot the God who gave you birth.
  4. The LORD saw this and rejected them because he was angered by his sons and daughters.
  5. "I will hide my face from them," he said, "and see what their end will be; for they are a perverse generation, children who are unfaithful.
  1. 그들이 신이 아닌 것으로 나를 질투하게 하고, 무가치한 우상으로 나를 분노하게 하였으니 나도 내 백성이 아닌 사람들에게 애정을 주어 그들을 질투하게 하고 어리석은 민족으로 그들을 분노하게 하리라.
  2. 내 분노가 불같이 일어나 땅속 깊은 곳까지 태우며 땅에 있는 모든 것을 삼키고 산들의 터를 소멸하리라.
  3. 내가 그들에게 끝없는 재앙을 내리고 그들에게 내 화살을 마구 쏠 것이다.
  4. 내가 그들에게 심한 기근과 무서운 전염병을 보내고 사나운 들짐승과 독사로 그들을 해하리라.
  5. 밖에서는 칼날에 죽고 집 안에서는 겁에 질려 쓰러질 것이니 젊은 남녀와 젖먹이와 백발 노인이 다 멸망하리라.
  1. They made me jealous by what is no god and angered me with their worthless idols. I will make them envious by those who are not a people; I will make them angry by a nation that has no understanding.
  2. For a fire has been kindled by my wrath, one that burns to the realm of death below. It will devour the earth and its harvests and set afire the foundations of the mountains.
  3. "I will heap calamities upon them and spend my arrows against them.
  4. I will send wasting famine against them, consuming pestilence and deadly plague; I will send against them the fangs of wild beasts, the venom of vipers that glide in the dust.
  5. In the street the sword will make them childless; in their homes terror will reign. Young men and young women will perish, infants and gray-haired men.
  1. 내가 그들을 완전히 없애 버려 아무도 그들을 기억하지 못하게 하려고 하였으나
  2. 그들의 원수들이 오해하여 나 여호와가 이렇게 한 것이 아니라 자기들이 내 백성을 멸망시켰다고 자랑하며 우쭐댈까 두렵구나.'
  3. '이스라엘은 어리석고 지혜가 없는 민족이다.
  4. 그들이 지혜가 있어서 패망할 것을 알고 자기들의 종말이 어떻게 될 것인지 알았더라면!
  5. 그들의 반석 되시는 하나님이 그들을 버리지 않고 여호와께서 그들을 내주지 않는다면 어떻게 한 사람의 적이 천 명을 추격하고 두 사람의 적이 만 명을 도망치게 할 수 있겠는가?
  1. I said I would scatter them and blot out their memory from mankind,
  2. but I dreaded the taunt of the enemy, lest the adversary misunderstand and say, 'Our hand has triumphed; the LORD has not done all this.' "
  3. They are a nation without sense, there is no discernment in them.
  4. If only they were wise and would understand this and discern what their end will be!
  5. How could one man chase a thousand, or two put ten thousand to flight, unless their Rock had sold them, unless the LORD had given them up?
  1. 원수들의 신이 우리 하나님과 같지 않으며 그들도 이 사실을 인정하는구나.
  2. 그들은 소돔과 고모라 사람들처럼 부패하여 그 행위가 쓰고 독한 열매를 맺는 포도나무 같으며,
  3. 독사의 독으로 만든 독주와 같다.
  4. 이것이 내 창고에 쌓여 밀봉되어 있지 않은가?
  5. 원수 갚는 것은 나의 일이다. 내가 갚아 주겠다. 환난 날이 가깝고 멸망의 때가 속히 오리라.'
  1. For their rock is not like our Rock, as even our enemies concede.
  2. Their vine comes from the vine of Sodom and from the fields of Gomorrah. Their grapes are filled with poison, and their clusters with bitterness.
  3. Their wine is the venom of serpents, the deadly poison of cobras.
  4. "Have I not kept this in reserve and sealed it in my vaults?
  5. It is mine to avenge; I will repay. In due time their foot will slip; their day of disaster is near and their doom rushes upon them."
  1. '여호와께서 자기 백성을 심판하실 것이며 자기 종들이 무력해지고 종이나 자유인이나 남은 자가 없을 때 그들을 불쌍히 여기실 것이다.
  2. 여호와께서 이런 말씀을 하시리라. 그들의 신들이 어디 있으며, 그들이 피난처로 생각하던 반석이 어디 있느냐?
  3. 그들이 제사지낸 기름을 먹고 포도주를 마시던 신들아, 너희는 지금 어디 있느냐? 일어나서 그들을 도와라.
  4. 나만 하나님인 것을 알지 못하느냐? 나 외에는 참된 신이 없다. 내가 죽이기도 하고 살리기도 하며 상하게도 하고 고치기도 하는데 내가 하는 일을 누가 막을 수 있겠는가?
  5. 내가 하늘을 향해 손을 들고 분명히 말하지만
  1. The LORD will judge his people and have compassion on his servants when he sees their strength is gone and no one is left, slave or free.
  2. He will say: "Now where are their gods, the rock they took refuge in,
  3. the gods who ate the fat of their sacrifices and drank the wine of their drink offerings? Let them rise up to help you! Let them give you shelter!
  4. "See now that I myself am He! There is no god besides me. I put to death and I bring to life, I have wounded and I will heal, and no one can deliver out of my hand.
  5. I lift my hand to heaven and declare: As surely as I live forever,
  1. 내가 심판의 칼을 갈아 내 원수들과 나를 미워하는 자에게 복수하리라.
  2. 내 화살이 그들의 피로 물들 것이며 내 칼이 그들을 죽일 것이니 피를 흘릴 자는 피살자와 포로들과 적장들이다.'
  3. 만민들아, 여호와의 백성과 함께 기뻐하라. 여호와께서 자기 종들의 원수들을 죽이시고 그들에게 보복하여 자기 땅과 백성을 깨끗하게 하시리라.
  4. 모세는 눈의 아들 여호수아와 함께 이 모든 노래를 낭송한 다음에
  5. (44절과 같음)
  1. when I sharpen my flashing sword and my hand grasps it in judgment, I will take vengeance on my adversaries and repay those who hate me.
  2. I will make my arrows drunk with blood, while my sword devours flesh: the blood of the slain and the captives, the heads of the enemy leaders."
  3. Rejoice, O nations, with his people, , for he will avenge the blood of his servants; he will take vengeance on his enemies and make atonement for his land and people.
  4. Moses came with Joshua son of Nun and spoke all the words of this song in the hearing of the people.
  5. When Moses finished reciting all these words to all Israel,
  1. 백성들에게 이렇게 말하였다. '여러분은 오늘 내가 전한 이 모든 말씀을 마음에 잘 간직하고 여러분의 자녀들에게도 가르쳐 지키게 하십시오.
  2. 이것은 헛된 말이 아니라 바로 여러분의 생명입니다. 여러분이 이 말씀을 지켜야 요단강을 건너가 살 그 땅에서 오래오래 살게 될 것입니다.'
  1. he said to them, "Take to heart all the words I have solemnly declared to you this day, so that you may command your children to obey carefully all the words of this law.
  2. They are not just idle words for you--they are your life. By them you will live long in the land you are crossing the Jordan to possess."

  여수룬( 32:15)  ‘사랑받는 자’, ‘정직한 자’ 라는 의미로 이스라엘을 가리킴
