- 예수님은 열 두 제자를 따로 데리고 가시면서 이렇게 말씀하셨다. '우리가 지금 예루살렘으로 올라가고 있으니 내게 대하여 예언자들이 기록한 모든 일이 이루어질 것이다.
- 내가 이방인들의 손에 넘어갈 것이며 그들은 나를 조롱하고 모욕하고 침 뱉고
- 채찍질한 후 죽일 것이다. 그러나 나는 3일 만에 다시 살아날 것이다.'
- 제자들에게는 이 말씀의 뜻이 감추어져 있었으므로 그들은 예수님이 하시는 말씀을 하나도 이해하지 못하였다.
- 예수님이 여리고에 가까이 가셨을 때였다. 한 소경이 길가에 앉아 구걸하다가

- Jesus took the Twelve aside and told them, "We are going up to Jerusalem, and everything that is written by the prophets about the Son of Man will be fulfilled.
- He will be handed over to the Gentiles. They will mock him, insult him, spit on him, flog him and kill him.
- On the third day he will rise again."
- The disciples did not understand any of this. Its meaning was hidden from them, and they did not know what he was talking about.
- As Jesus approached Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the roadside begging.

- 사람들이 지나가는 소리를 듣고 무슨 일이냐고 묻자
- 그들은 '나사렛 예수님이 지나가신다.' 하고 말해 주었다.
- 그러자 그는 큰 소리로 '다윗의 후손 예수님, 저를 불쌍히 여겨 주십시오.' 하고 외쳤다.
- 앞서 가는 사람들이 그를 꾸짖으며 조용히 하라고 했으나 그는 더욱 큰 소리로 '다윗의 후손이시여, 저를 불쌍히 여겨 주십시오.' 하고 외쳤다.
- 예수님은 걸음을 멈추시고 그 소경을 데려오라고 하셨다. 소경이 가까이 왔을 때

- When he heard the crowd going by, he asked what was happening.
- They told him, "Jesus of Nazareth is passing by."
- He called out, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!"
- Those who led the way rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, "Son of David, have mercy on me!"
- Jesus stopped and ordered the man to be brought to him. When he came near, Jesus asked him,

- 예수님이 그에게 '원하는 것이 무엇이냐?' 하고 물으시자 '주님, 눈을 뜨게 해 주십시오.' 하고 그는 대답하였다.
- 그래서 예수님이 '오냐, 눈을 떠라. 네 믿음이 너를 낫게 하였다.' 하고 말씀하시자
- 그가 곧 눈을 뜨고 하나님께 영광을 돌리며 예수님을 따라갔고 사람들은 이 광경을 보고 모두 하나님을 찬양하였다.

- "What do you want me to do for you?" "Lord, I want to see," he replied.
- Jesus said to him, "Receive your sight; your faith has healed you."
- Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus, praising God. When all the people saw it, they also praised God.
