- 바울은 더베에 들렸다가 루스드라로 갔다. 거기에 디모데라는 제자가 있었는데 그의 어머니는 주님을 믿는 유대인이었고 아버지는 그리이스 사람이었다.
- 디모데는 루스드라와 이고니온에 있는 신자들에게 존경을 받고 있었다.
- 그래서 바울은 디모데를 데리고 다니려 했으나 그의 아버지가 그리이스 사람인 것을 아는 그 지방 유대인들 때문에 그를 먼저 데려다가 할례를 행하였다.
- 바울과 그 일행은 여러 도시를 다니면서 예루살렘에 있는 사도들과 장로들이 결정한 규정을 신자들에게 전하여 지키게 하였다.
- 그래서 교회는 믿음이 강해지고 그 수가 날마다 늘어났다.

- He came to Derbe and then to Lystra, where a disciple named Timothy lived, whose mother was a Jewess and a believer, but whose father was a Greek.
- The brothers at Lystra and Iconium spoke well of him.
- Paul wanted to take him along on the journey, so he circumcised him because of the Jews who lived in that area, for they all knew that his father was a Greek.
- As they traveled from town to town, they delivered the decisions reached by the apostles and elders in Jerusalem for the people to obey.
- So the churches were strengthened in the faith and grew daily in numbers.

- 성령님이 아시아에서 말씀 전하는 것을 막으시므로 그들은 브루기아와 갈라디아 지방을 지나
- 무시아에 이른 후에 비두니아로 가려고 하였으나 성령님이 그것을 허락하시지 않았다.
- 그래서 그들은 무시아를 지나 드로아로 내려갔다.
- 그 날 밤 바울이 환상을 보았는데 어떤 마케도니아 사람이 서서 그에게 '마케도니아로 건너와 우리를 도와 주십시오.' 하고 간청하였다.
- 바울이 그 환상을 본 후에 우리는 하나님이 마케도니아 사람들에게 기쁜 소식을 전하라고 우리를 부르신 것으로 판단하고 곧 떠날 준비를 하였다.

- Paul and his companions traveled throughout the region of Phrygia and Galatia, having been kept by the Holy Spirit from preaching the word in the province of Asia.
- When they came to the border of Mysia, they tried to enter Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus would not allow them to.
- So they passed by Mysia and went down to Troas.
- During the night Paul had a vision of a man of Macedonia standing and begging him, "Come over to Macedonia and help us."
- After Paul had seen the vision, we got ready at once to leave for Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them.

- 그 길로 우리는 드로아에서 배를 타고 곧장 사모드라게로 갔다가 다음 날 네압볼리를 거쳐
- 빌립보로 갔다. 그 곳은 마케도니아의 첫째 가는 도시로서 로마의 식민지였다. 우리는 며칠 동안 거기서 머물렀다.
- 안식일에 우리는 유대인의 기도처가 있음직한 성문밖 강가로 나가 거기 모여 있는 여자들에게 말씀을 전하였다.
- 그 자리에는 두아디라에서 온 루디아라는 자색 옷감 장수도 있었다. 그녀는 하나님을 섬기는 사람이었다. 주님은 그 여자의 마음을 열어 바울의 말에 귀를 기울이게 하셨다.
- 루디아는 온 집안 식구들과 함께 세례를 받고 '저를 참된 신자로 여기신다면 제 집에 오셔서 머물러 주십시오.' 하고 간청하면서 기어이 우리를 데리고 갔다.

- From Troas we put out to sea and sailed straight for Samothrace, and the next day on to Neapolis.
- From there we traveled to Philippi, a Roman colony and the leading city of that district of Macedonia. And we stayed there several days.
- On the Sabbath we went outside the city gate to the river, where we expected to find a place of prayer. We sat down and began to speak to the women who had gathered there.
- One of those listening was a woman named Lydia, a dealer in purple cloth from the city of Thyatira, who was a worshiper of God. The Lord opened her heart to respond to Paul's message.
- When she and the members of her household were baptized, she invited us to her home. "If you consider me a believer in the Lord," she said, "come and stay at my house." And she persuaded us.
