예레미야 28:1-29:32

 예레미야의 목에 얹은 나무 멍에를 꺾어 버린 거짓 선지자 하나냐는 하나님의 징계를 받아 죽었고, 유다는 쇠 멍에를 얹게 되었다. 예레미야는 바벨론에 잡혀 간 유다 백성들에게 편지를 보내어 귀환할 때까지 그 곳에서 평안히 거할 것을 당부했으며, 거짓 선지자들에게 현혹되지 말 것을 경고하였다. 이에 스마야는 예레미야를 처벌하도록 본국에 요청하였지만 야웨께서는 스마야를 징벌하시겠다고 선언하셨다.
  
  거짓 선지자 하나냐(28:1-28:17)    
 
  1. 같은 해, 곧 시드기야가 유다 왕이 된 지 얼마 되지 않은 해인 시드기야 4년 5월에 기브온 출신인 앗술의 아들 예언자 하나냐가 성전에서 제사장들과 모든 백성들이 있는 가운데 나에게 이런 말을 하였다.
  2. '전능하신 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님이 이렇게 말씀하셨다. '내가 바빌로니아 왕의 권력을 꺾어 버렸다.
  3. 바빌로니아의 느부갓네살왕이 이 곳에서 바빌로니아로 가져간 성전의 모든 기구들을 2년 내에 내가 다시 이 곳으로 가져오겠다.
  4. 또 내가 여호야김의 아들인 유다 왕 여호야긴과 바빌로니아로 끌려간 유다의 모든 포로들을 다시 이 곳으로 돌아오게 하겠다. 내가 분명히 너희 목에서 바빌로니아 왕의 멍에를 벗겨 줄 것이다. 이것은 나 여호와의 말이다.'
  5. 그때 나는 성전에 서 있는 제사장들과 모든 백성들 앞에서 예언자 하나냐에게 이렇게 말하였다.
  1. In the fifth month of that same year, the fourth year, early in the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, the prophet Hananiah son of Azzur, who was from Gibeon, said to me in the house of the LORD in the presence of the priests and all the people:
  2. "This is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: 'I will break the yoke of the king of Babylon.
  3. Within two years I will bring back to this place all the articles of the LORD's house that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon removed from here and took to Babylon.
  4. I will also bring back to this place Jehoiachin son of Jehoiakim king of Judah and all the other exiles from Judah who went to Babylon,' declares the LORD, 'for I will break the yoke of the king of Babylon.' "
  5. Then the prophet Jeremiah replied to the prophet Hananiah before the priests and all the people who were standing in the house of the LORD.
  1. '아멘! 여호와께서 그렇게 하시기를 나도 바라고 있다. 여호와께서 너의 예언이 이루어지게 하셔서 성전의 모든 기구들을 바빌로니아에서 다시 이 곳으로 가져오고 모든 포로들을 다 데려오시기를 진심으로 바란다.
  2. 그러나 너는 내가 너와 백성들에게 하는 말을 잘 들어라.
  3. 나와 너보다 훨씬 이전에 있었던 예언자들도 옛날부터 여러 나라와 강대국들에 대하여 전쟁과 재앙과 질병을 예언하였다.
  4. 그렇지만 평화를 예언하는 예언자는 그의 예언이 이루어진 후에야 그가 참으로 여호와께서 보내신 예언자라는 인정을 받게 될 것이다.'
  5. 그러자 예언자 하나냐가 나의 목에서 멍에를 빼앗아 꺾어 버리고
  1. He said, "Amen! May the LORD do so! May the LORD fulfill the words you have prophesied by bringing the articles of the LORD's house and all the exiles back to this place from Babylon.
  2. Nevertheless, listen to what I have to say in your hearing and in the hearing of all the people:
  3. From early times the prophets who preceded you and me have prophesied war, disaster and plague against many countries and great kingdoms.
  4. But the prophet who prophesies peace will be recognized as one truly sent by the LORD only if his prediction comes true."
  5. Then the prophet Hananiah took the yoke off the neck of the prophet Jeremiah and broke it,
  1. 모든 백성 앞에서 이렇게 말하였다. '이와 같이 여호와께서는 2년 내에 바빌로니아왕이 모든 나라에 메게 한 멍에를 꺾어버리시겠다고 말씀하셨습니다.' 그래서 나는 그 곳을 떠났다.
  2. 이런 일이 있은 지 얼마 후에 여호와께서 나에게 말씀하셨다.
  3. '너는 하나냐에게 가서 이렇게 말하라. : 여호와께서는 네가 나무 멍에를 꺾었으나 대신 쇠 멍에를 만들었다고 말씀하셨다.
  4. 너는 전능하신 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님이 하시는 말씀을 들어라. '내가 쇠 멍에를 이 모든 나라에 메워 그들이 바빌로니아의 느부갓네살왕을 섬기게 하였으니 그들이 그를 섬길 것이다. 그리고 나는 들짐승까지 느부갓네살왕을 섬기게 하겠다.'
  5. 그리고서 나는 예언자 하나냐에게 말하였다. '하나냐야, 너는 들어라. 여호와께서 너를 보내지 않았는데도 너는 이 백성에게 거짓말을 믿게 하였다.
  1. and he said before all the people, "This is what the LORD says: 'In the same way will I break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon off the neck of all the nations within two years.' " At this, the prophet Jeremiah went on his way.
  2. Shortly after the prophet Hananiah had broken the yoke off the neck of the prophet Jeremiah, the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah:
  3. "Go and tell Hananiah, 'This is what the LORD says: You have broken a wooden yoke, but in its place you will get a yoke of iron.
  4. This is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: I will put an iron yoke on the necks of all these nations to make them serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and they will serve him. I will even give him control over the wild animals.' "
  5. Then the prophet Jeremiah said to Hananiah the prophet, "Listen, Hananiah! The LORD has not sent you, yet you have persuaded this nation to trust in lies.
  1. 그러므로 여호와께서 이렇게 말씀하신다. '내가 너를 지상에서 없애 버리겠다. 네가 나에게 반역하는 말을 하였으므로 너는 금년에 죽을 것이다.'
  2. 그래서 그로부터 두 달 후인 그 해 7월에 예언자 하나냐는 죽고 말았다.
  1. Therefore, this is what the LORD says: 'I am about to remove you from the face of the earth. This very year you are going to die, because you have preached rebellion against the LORD.' "
  2. In the seventh month of that same year, Hananiah the prophet died.
 
  포로된 백성에게 보낸 편지(29:1-29:23)    
 
  1. 나 예레미야는 포로 가운데 살아 남아 있는 장로들과 제사장들과 예언자들 및 느부갓네살왕이 예루살렘에서 바빌로니아로 잡아간 모든 백성들에게 예루살렘에서 편지를 써서 보냈다.
  2. 이 때는 여호야긴왕과 그의 어머니와 궁중내시들과 유다와 예루살렘의 지도자들과 목공들과 철공들이 예루살렘에서 포로로 잡혀간 후였다.
  3. 나는 그 편지를 유다의 시드기야왕이 바빌로니아의 느부갓네살왕에게 보낸 사반의 아들 엘라사와 힐기야의 아들인 그마랴에게 주어 전하게 했는데 그 내용은 다음과 같다.
  4. 전능하신 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님이 예루살렘에서 바빌로니아로 잡혀간 포로들에게 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다.
  5. 너희는 집을 짓고 그 곳에 정착하여 과수원을 만들고 그 열매를 먹으며
  1. This is the text of the letter that the prophet Jeremiah sent from Jerusalem to the surviving elders among the exiles and to the priests, the prophets and all the other people Nebuchadnezzar had carried into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon.
  2. (This was after King Jehoiachin and the queen mother, the court officials and the leaders of Judah and Jerusalem, the craftsmen and the artisans had gone into exile from Jerusalem.)
  3. He entrusted the letter to Elasah son of Shaphan and to Gemariah son of Hilkiah, whom Zedekiah king of Judah sent to King Nebuchadnezzar in Babylon. It said:
  4. This is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says to all those I carried into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon:
  5. "Build houses and settle down; plant gardens and eat what they produce.
  1. 결혼하여 아들딸을 낳고 너희 자녀들에게도 결혼을 시켜 그들도 자녀를 낳게 하여라. 너희는 번성해야 하며 쇠퇴해서는 안 된다.
  2. 너희는 잡혀간 그 도시의 평안과 번영을 추구하고 그 일을 위해서 나 여호와에게 기도하라. 이것은 그 도시가 평안하고 번영을 누릴 때 너희도 평안하고 번영을 누릴 것이기 때문이다.'
  3. 전능하신 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님께서 또 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. '너희는 너희 가운데 있는 예언자나 점장이가 너희를 미혹하지 못하게 하고 그들이 조작해 낸 꿈 이야기에 귀를 기울이지 말아라.
  4. 내가 그들을 보내지 않았는데도 그들은 내 이름으로 거짓 예언을 하고 있다.'
  5. 여호와께서 다시 말씀하셨습니다. '바빌로니아에서 70년의 포로생활이 끝나면 내가 너희를 돌아 보고 나의 선한 약속을 이행하여 너희를 이 곳으로 돌아오게 하겠다.
  1. Marry and have sons and daughters; find wives for your sons and give your daughters in marriage, so that they too may have sons and daughters. Increase in number there; do not decrease.
  2. Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the LORD for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper."
  3. Yes, this is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: "Do not let the prophets and diviners among you deceive you. Do not listen to the dreams you encourage them to have.
  4. They are prophesying lies to you in my name. I have not sent them," declares the LORD.
  5. This is what the LORD says: "When seventy years are completed for Babylon, I will come to you and fulfill my gracious promise to bring you back to this place.
  1. 너희를 위한 나의 계획은 내가 알고 있다. 그것은 너희에게 재앙을 주려는 것이 아니라 번영을 주고 너희에게 미래와 희망을 주려는 계획이다.
  2. 그때에는 너희가 나에게 와서 부르짖고 기도할 것이며 나는 너희 기도를 들어줄 것이다.
  3. 너희가 진심으로 나를 찾고 구하면 나를 만날 것이다.
  4. 나 여호와가 말하지만 너희는 분명히 나를 만나게 될 것이며 나는 너희를 포로생활에서 해방시켜 내가 쫓아 보낸 모든 나라와 지방에서 너희를 모아 다시 너희 땅으로 돌아오게 하겠다. 이것은 나 여호와의 말이다.'
  5. 여러분은 '여호와께서 우리에게 바빌로니아에서도 예언자들을 주셨다.' 하고 말합니다.
  1. For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
  2. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.
  3. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
  4. I will be found by you," declares the LORD, "and will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you," declares the LORD, "and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile."
  5. You may say, "The LORD has raised up prophets for us in Babylon,"
  1. 그러나 여호와께서는 다윗의 왕위를 계승한 왕과 예루살렘에 남아 있는 모든 백성, 곧 여러분과 함께 포로로 잡혀가지 않은 여러분의 동족에 대하여 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다.
  2. '내가 그들에게 칼과 기근과 질병을 보내 그들을 썩어서 먹을 수 없는 못된 무화과처럼 되게 할 것이다.
  3. '내가 칼과 기근과 질병이 그들의 뒤를 따르게 하여 온 세계가 그들을 지긋지긋하게 여기도록 할 것이며 또 그들이 추방되어 가는 곳마다 저주와 비웃음과 조소의 대상이 되게 하겠다.
  4. 이것은 내가 그들에게 내 종 예언자들을 통해서 계속 경고하였으나 그들이 내 말을 듣지 않았기 때문이다.
  5. 그러므로 내가 예루살렘에서 바빌로니아로 보낸 너희 모든 포로들아, 너희는 나 여호와의 말을 들어라.
  1. but this is what the LORD says about the king who sits on David's throne and all the people who remain in this city, your countrymen who did not go with you into exile-
  2. yes, this is what the LORD Almighty says: "I will send the sword, famine and plague against them and I will make them like poor figs that are so bad they cannot be eaten.
  3. I will pursue them with the sword, famine and plague and will make them abhorrent to all the kingdoms of the earth and an object of cursing and horror, of scorn and reproach, among all the nations where I drive them.
  4. For they have not listened to my words," declares the LORD, "words that I sent to them again and again by my servants the prophets. And you exiles have not listened either," declares the LORD.
  5. Therefore, hear the word of the LORD, all you exiles whom I have sent away from Jerusalem to Babylon.
  1. 전능한 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님 내가 골라야의 아들인 아합과 마아세야의 아들인 시드기야에 대하여 말한다. 그들은 내 이름으로 너희에게 거짓 예언을 한 자들이다. 내가 그들을 바빌로니아의 느부갓네살왕에게 넘겨 주겠다. 그는 너희가 보는 앞에서 그들을 죽일 것이다.
  2. 그래서 바빌로니아에 있는 너희 모든 유다 포로들이 어떤 사람을 저주할 때 그들을 저줏거리로 삼아 '여호와께서 너를 바빌로니아 왕이 불에 태워 죽인 시드기야와 아합처럼 되게 하시기를 바란다.' 하고 말할 것이다.
  3. 이것은 그들이 자기 이웃의 아내와 간음하여 내 백성 가운데서 무서운 죄를 지었을 뿐만 아니라 내가 명령하지도 않았는데 내 이름으로 거짓말을 했기 때문이다. 나는 그들이 행한 것을 알고 있으며 또 그것을 본 목격자이다. 이것은 나 여호와의 말이다.'
  1. This is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says about Ahab son of Kolaiah and Zedekiah son of Maaseiah, who are prophesying lies to you in my name: "I will hand them over to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and he will put them to death before your very eyes.
  2. Because of them, all the exiles from Judah who are in Babylon will use this curse: 'The LORD treat you like Zedekiah and Ahab, whom the king of Babylon burned in the fire.'
  3. For they have done outrageous things in Israel; they have committed adultery with their neighbors' wives and in my name have spoken lies, which I did not tell them to do. I know it and am a witness to it," declares the LORD.
 
  스마야의 편지(29:24-29:32)    
 
  1. 이스라엘의 하나님 전능하신 여호와께서 나에게 느헬람 사람 스마야에 대한 말씀을 주셨다. 스마야는 자기 이름으로 편지를 써서 예루살렘에 있는 모든 백성들과 제사장 마아세야의 아들 스바냐와 다른 모든 제사장들에게 보냈는데 이 편지에서 그는 스바냐에게 이렇게 말하였다.
  2. (24절과 같음)
  3. 여호와께서 너를 제사장 여호야다를 대신하여 제사장으로 삼고 너를 성전 관리 책임자로 세우셨다. 그래서 자칭 예언자로 행세하는 미친 녀석을 차고에 채우고 칼을 씌우는 것은 네가 해야 할 일이다.
  4. 그런데 너는 어째서 너희 가운데 자칭 예언자로 행세하는 아나돗 사람 예레미야를 책망하지 않느냐?
  5. 그가 바빌로니아에 있는 우리에게 우리의 포로 생활이 오랫동안 계속될 것이므로 우리가 여기서 집을 짓고 정착하여 과수원을 만들고 그 열매를 먹어야 한다는 내용의 편지를 보냈다.'
  1. Tell Shemaiah the Nehelamite,
  2. "This is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: You sent letters in your own name to all the people in Jerusalem, to Zephaniah son of Maaseiah the priest, and to all the other priests. You said to Zephaniah,
  3. 'The LORD has appointed you priest in place of Jehoiada to be in charge of the house of the LORD; you should put any madman who acts like a prophet into the stocks and neck-irons.
  4. So why have you not reprimanded Jeremiah from Anathoth, who poses as a prophet among you?
  5. He has sent this message to us in Babylon: It will be a long time. Therefore build houses and settle down; plant gardens and eat what they produce.' "
  1. 제사장 스바냐가 스마야의 글을 나에게 읽어 줄 때
  2. 여호와께서 모든 포로들에게 이런 글을 써서 보내라고 나에게 말씀하셨다. '여호와께서 느헬람 사람 스마야에 대하여 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. '내가 스마야를 보내지 않았으나 그가 너희에게 예언하였고 너희에게 거짓말을 믿게 하였다.
  3. (30절과 같음)
  4. 그러므로 내가 느헬람 사람 스마야와 그의 자손을 벌하겠다. 그가 나 여호와에 대하여 반역하는 말을 하였으므로 그에게는 이 백성 가운데 살아 남을 후손이 없을 것이며 그는 내가 내 백성을 위해 행할 좋은 일들을 보지 못할 것이다. 이것은 나 여호와의 말이다.'
  1. Zephaniah the priest, however, read the letter to Jeremiah the prophet.
  2. Then the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah:
  3. "Send this message to all the exiles: 'This is what the LORD says about Shemaiah the Nehelamite: Because Shemaiah has prophesied to you, even though I did not send him, and has led you to believe a lie,
  4. this is what the LORD says: I will surely punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite and his descendants. He will have no one left among this people, nor will he see the good things I will do for my people, declares the LORD, because he has preached rebellion against me.' "
