히브리서 11:32-12:13

 어떤 환난도 믿음의 선진들을 막지 못했음을 언급하며 성도들에게 예수님을 바라봄으로 믿음의, 인내의 경주를 계속하라고 권면하였다. 이어 하나님의 사랑의 징계로 말미암아 열매를 맺게 됨을 가르쳤다.
  
  고난 속의 믿음(11:32-11:40)    
 
  1. 그 밖에 기드온, 바락, 삼손, 입다, 다윗, 사무엘, 그리고 다른 예언자들에 대하여 하나하나 다 말하자면 끝이 없을 것입니다.
  2. 그들은 믿음으로 여러 나라를 정복하였고 옳은 일을 하였으며 약속된 것을 받았고 사자들의 입을 막기도 했습니다.
  3. 또 불 가운데서 구원을 받았고 칼날도 피했으며 약한 사람이 강해지고 싸움터에서 용감하게 외국 군대를 무찌르기도 하였습니다.
  4. 그리고 어떤 여자들은 죽은 가족을 다시 살아난 상태에서 맞이하기도 하였으며 어떤 사람들은 더 나은 부활을 얻기 위해 고문을 당해도 풀려나기를 거절했습니다.
  5. 또 어떤 사람들은 조롱을 받고 채찍으로 맞았으며 사슬에 묶여 갇히기도 했습니다.
  1. And what more shall I say? I do not have time to tell about Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel and the prophets,
  2. who through faith conquered kingdoms, administered justice, and gained what was promised; who shut the mouths of lions,
  3. quenched the fury of the flames, and escaped the edge of the sword; whose weakness was turned to strength; and who became powerful in battle and routed foreign armies.
  4. Women received back their dead, raised to life again. Others were tortured and refused to be released, so that they might gain a better resurrection.
  5. Some faced jeers and flogging, while still others were chained and put in prison.
  1. 또한 돌로 맞기도 하고 시험을 당하며 톱으로 몸이 잘리거나 칼날에 죽임을 당하기도 하였습니다. 그리고 양이나 염소의 가죽으로 옷을 삼아 두르고 다녔으며 가난과 고통에 시달리고 온갖 학대를 받았습니다.
  2. 세상은 그들에게 아무 가치가 없었습니다. 그래서 그들은 광야와 산과 동굴과 땅굴을 찾아다니며 지냈습니다.
  3. 이 사람들은 모두 믿음으로 여러가지 증거를 받았지만 약속된 것을 받지는 못하였습니다.
  4. 그것은 하나님께서 우리를 위해 더 좋은 것을 마련하시고 우리와 함께 그들이 완전해지도록 하셨기 때문입니다.
  1. They were stoned; they were sawed in two; they were put to death by the sword. They went about in sheepskins and goatskins, destitute, persecuted and mistreated--
  2. the world was not worthy of them. They wandered in deserts and mountains, and in caves and holes in the ground.
  3. These were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised.
  4. God had planned something better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect.
 
  믿음의 경주와 사랑의 징계(12:1-12:13)    
 
  1. 이렇게 많은 증인들이 우리를 지켜보고 있습니다. 그러므로 우리도 모든 무거운 짐과 얽매이기 쉬운 죄를 벗어 버리고 목표를 향해 꾸준히 달려갑시다.
  2. 그리고 우리 믿음의 근원이시며 우리 믿음을 완전케 하시는 예수님을 바라봅시다. 그분은 장차 누릴 기쁨을 위하여 부끄러움과 십자가의 고통을 참으셨으며 지금은 하나님의 오른편에 앉아 계십니다.
  3. 여러분은 죄인들의 이런 증오를 몸소 참으신 예수님을 생각하면서 낙심하지 말고 용기를 내십시오.
  4. 지금까지 여러분은 피를 흘리면서까지 죄를 대항하여 싸운 일은 없습니다.
  5. 하나님께서 자녀들을 타이르듯 여러분에게 이렇게 격려하신 말씀을 잊었습니까? '내 아들아, 주의 징계를 가볍게 여기지 말며 꾸지람을 듣더라도 낙심하지 말아라.
  1. Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.
  2. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
  3. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
  4. In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood.
  5. And you have forgotten that word of encouragement that addresses you as sons: "My son, do not make light of the Lord's discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you,
  1. 주께서는 자기가 사랑하는 사람을 꾸짖고 나무라시며 그가 아들로 받아들이는 사람을 다 채찍질하신다.'
  2. 여러분은 고난을 징계로 알고 견디어 나가십시오. 하나님은 여러분을 아들로 대하십니다. 아버지가 징계하지 않는 아들이 있겠습니까?
  3. 아들이면 누구나 징계를 받습니다. 만일 여러분이 그런 징계를 받지 않는다면 사생아이지 진짜 아들이 아닙니다.
  4. 우리 육체의 아버지가 우리를 징계하여도 우리가 공경하는데 하물며 우리 영의 아버지께 복종하며 살아야 하지 않겠습니까?
  5. 육체의 아버지는 그들이 좋다고 생각하는 대로 잠시 우리를 징계하지만 하나님 아버지는 우리의 유익을 위해서 우리를 징계하여 그분의 거룩하심에 참여하게 하십니다.
  1. because the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes everyone he accepts as a son."
  2. Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father?
  3. If you are not disciplined (and everyone undergoes discipline), then you are illegitimate children and not true sons.
  4. Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of our spirits and live!
  5. Our fathers disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, that we may share in his holiness.
  1. 징계를 받을 당시에는 그 징계가 달갑지 않고 괴로운 것 같지만 후에 그것으로 단련을 받은 사람들은 의와 평안의 열매를 맺습니다.
  2. 그러므로 여러분은 맥빠진 손과 약해진 무릎에 힘을 주어 일어나서
  3. 바른 길을 걸어가십시오. 그러면 불구자가 절뚝거리지 않고 고침을 받을 것입니다.
  1. No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.
  2. Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees.
  3. "Make level paths for your feet," so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed.
