- 그리고서 예수님은 성령님의 인도로 마귀에게 시험을 받으러 광야로 나가셨다.
- 예수님은 40일 동안 금식하여 몹시 시장하셨다.
- 이때 시험하는 마귀가 예수님께 와서 말하였다. '네가 하나님의 아들이라면 이 돌을 빵이 되게 하라.'
- 그러나 예수님은 마귀에게 이렇게 말씀하셨다. '성경에는 사람이 빵으로만 살 것이 아니라 하나님의 모든 말씀으로 살아야 한다 라고 쓰여 있다.'
- 그러자 마귀는 예수님을 거룩한 성으로 데려가 성전 꼭대기에 세우고 말하였다.

- Then was Jesus led up of the spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
- And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.
- And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
- But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
- Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,

- '네가 하나님의 아들이라면 여기서 뛰어내려 보아라. 성경에는 하나님이 천사들에게 명령하여 손으로 너를 붙들어서 네 발이 돌이 부딪히지 않게 하실 것이다. 라고 쓰여 있다.'
- 그래서 예수님은 마귀에게 '성경에는 주 너의 하나님을 시험하지 말라 는 말씀도 기록되어 있다.' 라고 대답하셨다.
- 다시 마귀는 예수님을 데리고 아주 높은 산으로 올라가 세상의 모든 나라와 그 영광을 보여 주면서
- 예수님께 '네가 만일 엎드려 나에게 절하면 내가 이 모든 것을 너에게 주겠다.' 라고 하였다.
- 그때 예수님이 말씀하셨다. '사탄아, 썩 물러가거라. 성경에는 주 너의 하나님을 경배하고 그분만을 섬겨라고 쓰여 있다.'

- And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
- Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
- Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
- And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
- Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

- 그러자 마귀는 떠나가고 천사들이 와서 예수님께 시중들었다.
- 예수님은 요한이 잡혔다는 소식을 듣고 갈릴리로 돌아가셨다.
- 그러나 그분은 나사렛에 계시지 않고 스불론과 납달리 지방의 바닷가에 있는 가버나움으로 가서 사셨다.
- 이것은 예언자 이사야의 다음과 같은 예언을 이루기 위해서였다.
- '스불론 땅과 납달리 땅아, 지중해 동쪽 요단강 서편의 이방 사람들이 사는 갈릴리야,

- Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.
- Now when Jesus had heard that John was cast into prison, he departed into Galilee;
- And leaving Nazareth, he came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is upon the sea coast, in the borders of Zabulon and Nephthalim:
- That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,
- The land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephthalim, by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles;

- 흑암 가운데 사는 백성이 큰 빛을 보았고 죽음의 그늘진 땅에 사는 사람들에게 빛이 비치었다.'
- 이때부터 예수님은 '회개하라! 하늘 나라가 가까왔다!' 하고 전도하기 시작하셨다.
- 예수님은 갈릴리 바닷가를 거니시다가 바다에 그물을 던지고 있는 어부를 보셨다. 그들은 베드로라는 시몬과 그의 형제 안드레였다.
- 예수님이 그들에게 '나를 따라오너라. 너희를 사람 낚는 어부가 되게 하겠다.' 하고 말씀하시자
- 그들은 곧 그물을 버려 두고 예수님을 따랐다.

- The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.
- From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
- And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.
- And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.
- And they straightway left their nets, and followed him.

- 예수님은 거기서 좀더 가시다가 다른 두 형제 야고보와 요한이 아버지 세베대와 함께 배에서 그물을 손질하는 것을 보시고 그들도 부르셨다.
- 그러자 그들은 아버지를 배에 남겨 두고 즉시 예수님을 따랐다.
- 예수님은 갈릴리 지방을 두루 다니시며 회당에서 가르치시고 하늘 나라의 기쁜 소식을 전하셨다. 그리고 병든 사람들과 허약한 사람들을 모두 고쳐 주셨다.
- 예수님의 소문이 시리아까지 퍼지자 사람들은 온갖 질병과 고통으로 고생하는 사람들, 귀신 들린 사람들, 간질병 환자, 중풍병자들을 수없이 데리고 왔다. 그래서 예수님은 그들을 모두 고쳐 주셨다.
- 갈릴리와 데가볼리와 예루살렘과 유대와 요단강 건너편에서 많은 사람들이 예수님을 따랐다.

- And going on from thence, he saw other two brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them.
- And they immediately left the ship and their father, and followed him.
- And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.
- And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.
- And there followed him great multitudes of people from Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judaea, and from beyond Jordan.
