마태복음 18:15-18:35

 예수께서 죄 지은 형제를 돌이키는 방법을 말씀하시고, 무자비한 종의 비유를 통해서 중심으로 형제를 용서해야 함을 교훈하셨다.
  
  범죄한 형제에 대한 태도(18:15-18:22)    
 
  1. '형제가 네게 죄를 짓거든 너는 그와 단둘이 만나 잘못을 타일러라. 그가 네 말을 들으면 너는 네 형제를 얻은 것이다.
  2. 그러나 듣지 않으면 너는 한 두 사람을 더 데리고 가서 두 세 증인의 입으로 모든 사실을 증명하라.
  3. 그래도 듣지 않으면 너는 교회에 말하고 교회의 말도 듣지 않으면 믿지 않는 사람이나 죄인처럼 여겨라.
  4. 내가 너희에게 분명히 말하지만 너희가 땅에서 처벌하면 하늘에서도 처벌할 것이며 너희가 땅에서 용서하면 하늘에서도 용서할 것이다.
  5. 내가 다시 말한다. 너희 중에 두 사람이 땅에서 마음을 같이하여 무엇이든지 구하면 하늘에 계신 내 아버지께서 이루어 주실 것이다.
  1. Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.
  2. But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.
  3. And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.
  4. Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
  5. Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.
  1. 두 세 사람이 내 이름으로 모이는 곳에는 나도 그들 가운데 있다.'
  2. 그때 베드로가 예수님께 와서 '주님, 형제가 내게 죄를 지었을 때 몇 번이나 용서해야 합니까? 일곱 번까지면 되겠습니까?' 하고 묻자
  3. 예수님은 이렇게 말씀하셨다. '일곱 번만 아니라 일흔번씩 일곱 번이라도 용서하여라.
  1. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
  2. Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?
  3. Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.
 
  무자비한 종의 비유(18:23-18:35)    
 
  1. 그러므로 하늘 나라는 종들과 계산을 하려는 왕과 같다.
  2. 계산을 시작하자 10,000달란트 빚진 한 종이 왕 앞에 끌려왔다.
  3. 그 종은 빚을 갚을 돈이 없으므로 왕이 종에게 그와 아내와 자식들과 그가 가진 것 전부를 팔아서 빚을 갚으라고 명령하였다.
  4. 그러자 종은 왕에게 엎드려 '조금만 참아 주십시오. 그러면 다 갚아 드리겠습니다.' 하고 간청하였다.
  5. 그래서 왕은 그를 불쌍히 여겨 빚을 모두 면제해 주고 놓아 주었다.
  1. Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.
  2. And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents.
  3. But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.
  4. The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
  5. Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.
  1. 그러나 그 종은 나가 자기에게 100 데나리온 빚진 동료를 만나 멱살을 잡고 '당장 내 돈을 내놔!' 하면서 재촉하였다.
  2. 그 동료는 엎드려 '조금만 참아 주게. 반드시 갚겠네.' 하고 간청하였다.
  3. 그러나 그 종은 그 사람의 간청을 들어주지 않고 빚을 다 갚을 때까지 그를 감옥에 가둬 버렸다.
  4. 다른 종들이 그가 하는 짓을 보고 몹시 마음이 아파 왕에게 가서 모두 일러바쳤다.
  5. 그래서 왕이 그 종을 불러 말하였다. '네 이놈, 네가 간청하기에 모든 빚을 면제해 주지 않았느냐?
  1. But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest.
  2. And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
  3. And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.
  4. So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.
  5. Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:
  1. 그렇다면 내가 너를 불쌍히 여긴 것처럼 너도 네 동료를 불쌍히 여기는 것이 마땅하지 않느냐?'
  2. 그리고서 왕은 화를 내며 빚을 다 갚을 때까지 그 종을 가두어 두었다.
  3. 너희가 전심으로 형제를 용서하지 않으면 하늘에 계신 내 아버지께서도 너희에게 그와 같이 하실 것이다.'
  1. Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?
  2. And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.
  3. So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.
 
  증참(證參, 18:16)  어떤 일을 증명하는 데 바탕이 되는 증거  
  탕감(蕩減, 18:32)  빚을 갚아 줌, 죄를 용서해 줌
