- '그때 하늘 나라는 마치 저마다 등을 가지고 신랑을 맞으러 나간 열 처녀와 같을 것이다.
- 열 처녀 중에 다섯은 어리석고 다섯은 슬기로왔다.
- 어리석은 처녀들은 등을 가졌으나 기름이 없었고
- 슬기로운 처녀들은 등에 기름을 채워 두었다.
- 그러나 신랑이 늦도록 오지 않자 처녀들은 모두 졸다가 잠이 들었다.

- Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
- And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
- They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:
- But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
- While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.

- 그런데 한밤중에 '자, 신랑이 온다. 맞으러 나오너라!' 하고 외치는 소리가 들렸다.
- 그때 처녀들은 다 일어나 저마다 등을 손질했다.
- 어리석은 처녀들이 슬기로운 처녀들에게 '우리 등불이 꺼져가는데 너희 기름을 좀 주겠니?' 하자
- 슬기로운 처녀들이 대답하였다. '너희에게 기름을 나눠 주면 우리도 모자라고 너희도 모자랄 거야. 차라리 가게에 가서 사다 쓰지 그러니?'
- 그러나 미련한 처녀들이 기름을 사러 간 사이에 신랑이 왔다. 그래서 준비한 처녀들은 신랑과 한께 결혼 잔치에 들어가고 문은 닫혔다.

- And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.
- Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
- And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.
- But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.
- And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.

- 그 후에 미련한 처녀들이 와서 '주님, 주님, 문을 열어 주십시오.' 하고 부르짖었다.
- 그러나 신랑은 '내가 분명히 말하지만 나는 너희를 전혀 알지 못한다.' 하고 대답하였다.
- 그러므로 깨어있어라. 너희는 그 날과 그 시간을 알지 못한다.
- 또 하늘 나라는 여행을 떠나면서 종들을 불러 자기 재산을 맡긴 사람과 같다.
- 주인은 각 사람의 능력에 따라 한 사람에게는 다섯 달란트를, 또 한 사람에게는 두 달란트를, 다른 한 사람에게는 한 달란트를 각각 맡기고 여행을 떠났다.

- Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
- But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
- Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.
- For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.
- And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.

- 다섯 달란트 받은 사람은 곧 가서 그것으로 장사하여 다섯 달란트를 더 벌었고
- 두 달란트 받은 사람도 두 달란트를 더 벌었다.
- 그러나 한 달란트 받은 사람은 가서 땅을 파고 주인의 돈을 묻어 두었다.
- 오랜 후에 주인이 돌아와 그들과 셈을 하게 되었다.
- 다섯 달란트 받은 사람이 다섯 달란트를 더 가지고 와서 '주인님, 제게 다섯 달란트를 맡기셨는데 보십시오, 다섯 달란트를 더 벌었습니다.' 하고 말하였다.

- Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents.
- And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two.
- But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord's money.
- After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them.
- And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more.

- 그래서 주인이 그에게 '잘하였다. 착하고 충실한 종아, 네가 작은 일에 충실하였으니 내가 너에게 많은 일을 맡기겠다. 너는 주인의 기쁨에 참여하여라.' 하였다.
- 두 달란트 받은 사람도 와서 '주인님, 제게 두 달란트를 맡기셨는데 보십시오, 두 달란트를 더 벌었습니다.' 하고 말하였다.
- 그래서 주인은 그에게도 '잘하였다. 착하고 충실한 종아, 네가 작은 일에 충실하였으니 내가 너에게 많은 일을 맡기겠다. 너는 주인의 기쁨에 참여하여라.' 하였다.
- 그런데 한 달란트 받은 사람은 와서 '주인님. 나는 주인님이 아무 수고도 하지 않고 남이 심고 뿌려 놓은 것을 거둬들이는 지독한 분이라고 알았습니다.
- 그래서 나는 두려워서 주인님의 돈을 땅 속에 묻어 두었다가 가져왔습니다. 보십시오, 주인님의 돈이 여기 있습니다.' 하였다.

- His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
- He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them.
- His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
- Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:
- And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine.

- 그때 주인이 이렇게 대답하였다. '악하고 게으른 종아, 네가 나를 그런 사람으로 알았느냐?
- 그렇다면 내 돈을 은행에 맡겼다가 내가 돌아왔을 때 이자와 원금을 함께 받도록 했어야 하지 않느냐?
- 그가 가진 한 달란트를 빼앗아 열 달란트 가진 사람에게 주어라.
- 누구든지 있는 사람은 더 받아 넘치게 되고 없는 사람은 있는 것마저 빼앗길 것이다.
- 이 쓸모없는 종을 바깥 어두운 곳에 내쫓아라. 거기서 통곡하며 이를 갈 것이다.

- His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed:
- Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.
- Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.
- For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.
- And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
