- 예수님이 돌아오시자 기다리고 있던 사람들이 영접하였다.
- 그때 야이로라는 회당장이 와서 예수님의 발 앞에 엎드려 자기 집에 와 주시기를 간청하였다.
- 이것은 열 두 살쯤 되는 그의 외딸이 죽어 가고 있었기 때문이었다. 그래서 예수님이 가시는데 군중들이 마구 밀어 닥쳤다.
- 그때 군중 가운데 12년 동안 피를 흘리며 앓던 한 여자가 있었다. (그녀는 여러 의사들을 찾아다니며 치료하느라고 자기 재산을 다 허비하였으나) 그녀를 고칠 수 있는 사람은 아무도 없었다.
- 그 여자가 뒤로 가서 예수님의 옷자락을 만지자 흐르던 피가 즉시 멎었다.

- And it came to pass, that, when Jesus was returned, the people gladly received him: for they were all waiting for him.
- And, behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue: and he fell down at Jesus' feet, and besought him that he would come into his house:
- For he had one only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she lay a dying. But as he went the people thronged him.
- And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any,
- Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched.

- 이때 예수님이 '누가 내 옷을 만졌느냐?' 하고 물으시자 모두 모른다고 하였고 베드로는 '주님, 사람들이 이렇게 밀어닥치고 있는데 어떻게 알겠습니까?' 하고 대답하였다.
- 그러나 예수님은 '내게서 힘이 나갔으니 나에게 손을 댄 사람이 있다.' 하고 말씀하셨다.
- 그 여자는 더 숨길 수 없게 된 것을 알고 떨며 예수님 앞에 나와 엎드렸다. 그리고서 그녀는 예수님을 만진 이유와 어떻게 해서 즉시 낫게 되었는가를 모든 사람 앞에서 말하였다.
- 그러자 예수님은 그 여자에게 '딸아, 네 믿음이 너를 낫게 하였다. 이제 평안히 돌아가거라.' 하고 말씀하셨다.
- 예수님이 아직 말씀하고 계실 때 회당장의 집에서 사람이 와서 '따님이 죽었습니다. 이제 선생님을 더 괴롭히지 마십시오.' 하였다.

- And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?
- And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me.
- And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately.
- And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.
- While he yet spake, there cometh one from the ruler of the synagogue's house, saying to him, Thy daughter is dead; trouble not the Master.

- 예수님은 그 말을 들으시고 회당장에게 '두려워 말고 믿기만 하라. 그러면 딸이 살아날 것이다.' 하고 말씀하셨다.
- 예수님은 그 집에 도착하셨을 때 베드로와 요한과 야고보와 소녀의 부모 외에는 아무도 집 안에 들어오지 못하게 하셨다.
- 사람들은 모두 소녀의 죽음을 슬퍼하며 울고 있었다. 그때 예수님이 '울지 말아라. 소녀는 죽은 것이 아니라 자고 있다.' 하고 말씀하시자
- 사람들은 소녀가 이미 죽은 것을 알고 있기 때문에 예수님을 비웃었다.
- 그러나 예수님은 그녀의 손을 잡고 '소녀야, 일어나거라!' 하고 외치셨다.

- But when Jesus heard it, he answered him, saying, Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole.
- And when he came into the house, he suffered no man to go in, save Peter, and James, and John, and the father and the mother of the maiden.
- And all wept, and bewailed her: but he said, Weep not; she is not dead, but sleepeth.
- And they laughed him to scorn, knowing that she was dead.
- And he put them all out, and took her by the hand, and called, saying, Maid, arise.

- 바로 그 순간 소녀의 영이 돌아와 그녀는 즉시 일어났다. 예수님이 소녀에게 먹을 것을 주라고 말씀하시자
- 소녀의 부모는 놀라 어쩔 줄 몰랐다. 그러나 예수님은 이 일을 아무에게도 알리지 말라고 그들에게 명령하셨다.

- And her spirit came again, and she arose straightway: and he commanded to give her meat.
- And her parents were astonished: but he charged them that they should tell no man what was done.
