	사무엘하 7:1-9:13 다윗이 하나님의 전을 건축할 뜻을 밝히자 하나님께서는 선지자 나단을 통해 그의 아들이 전을 건축할 것이라고 밝히시고, 다윗의 통치가 영원할 것을 약속하셨다. 이에 다윗은 하나님께 감사의 기도를 드렸다. 다윗은 사방의 대적들을 정벌하고 통치 조직을 개편하여 왕권을 공고히 했다. 그리고 요나단과의 언약을 기억하여 그의 아들 므비보셋을 잘 보살펴 주었다.

	다윗 언약(7:1-7:29)

이제 다윗은 그의 궁전에 정착하였고 여호와께서는 주변의 모든 원수들에게서 그를 안전하게 지켜 주셨다.

그때 다윗이 예언자 나단에게 '보시오. 나는 백향목 궁전에 살고 있는데 여호와의 궤는 천막 속에 있소.' 하였다.

그러자 나단이 '여호와께서 왕과 함께 계시니 왕의 마음에 좋을 대로 하십시오.' 하고 대답하였다.

그러나 그 날 밤 여호와께서 나단에게 말씀하셨다.

'너는 가서 내 종 다윗에게 이렇게 전하여라. '너는 내 성전을 지을 자가 아니다.

And it came to pass, when the king sat in his house, and the LORD had given him rest round about from all his enemies;

That the king said unto Nathan the prophet, See now, I dwell in an house of cedar, but the ark of God dwelleth within curtains.

And Nathan said to the king, Go, do all that is in thine heart; for the LORD is with thee.

And it came to pass that night, that the word of the LORD came unto Nathan, saying,

Go and tell my servant David, Thus saith the LORD, Shalt thou build me an house for me to dwell in?

나는 이스라엘 백성을 이집트에서 인도해 낸 날부터 지금까지 성전이 있어 본 적이 없고 이리저리 옮겨 다니면서 천막을 내 거처로 삼아 왔다.

내가 이스라엘 백성과 함께 어느 곳으로 옮겨 다니든지 나는 내 백성의 목자들인 이스라엘 지도자들에게 어째서 나에게 백향목 성전을 지어 주지 않느냐고 말한 적이 없다.

그러므로 너는 내 종 다윗에게 전능한 나 여호와가 이렇게 말한다고 일러 주어라. 내가 들에서 양을 치던 너를 택하여 내 백성 이스라엘의 통치자로 삼았고

또 네가 어디로 가든지 내가 너와 함께 하여 네 앞에서 너의 모든 대적을 파멸시켰다. 앞으로 나는 네 이름을 세계에서 가장 유명한 사람의 이름처럼 높여 주겠다.

내가 내 백성 이스라엘을 위해 정착지를 마련해 주었으므로 그들이 다시는 옮겨 다니지 않아도 될 것이다. 사사들이 나라를 다스리던 시대부터 그들은 악한 민족들의 침략으로 많은 괴로움을 받아왔으나 다시는 그런 일이 없을 것이다. 너는 전쟁이 없는 태평 세월을 누리고 네 자손들은 계속 이스라엘을 다스릴 것이다.

Whereas I have not dwelt in any house since the time that I brought up the children of Israel out of Egypt, even to this day, but have walked in a tent and in a tabernacle.

In all the places wherein I have walked with all the children of Israel spake I a word with any of the tribes of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people Israel, saying, Why build ye not me an house of cedar?

Now therefore so shalt thou say unto my servant David, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I took thee from the sheepcote, from following the sheep, to be ruler over my people, over Israel:

And I was with thee whithersoever thou wentest, and have cut off all thine enemies out of thy sight, and have made thee a great name, like unto the name of the great men that are in the earth.

Moreover I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own, and move no more; neither shall the children of wickedness afflict them any more, as beforetime,

네가 죽어도 나는 네 아들 하나를 왕으로 세워 그의 나라를 견고하게 하겠다.

바로 그가 나를 위해 성전을 건축할 자이다. 그리고 나는 그의 나라가 영원히 지속되게 할 것이다.

나는 그의 아버지가 되고 그는 내 아들이 될 것이다. 만일 그가 범죄하면 나는 사람을 막대기와 채찍으로 사용하여 그를 벌하겠다.

그러나 내가 네 앞에서 제거한 사울에게서 내 자비를 거둔 것처럼 그에게서는 내 자비를 거두지 않을 것이다.

And as since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel, and have caused thee to rest from all thine enemies. Also the LORD telleth thee that he will make thee an house.

And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.

He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever.

I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men:

But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before thee.

그리고 네 집안과 네 왕조는 끊어지지 않고 영원히 지속될 것이다.'

그래서 나단은 다윗에게 가서 여호와의 모든 말씀을 그대로 전해 주었다.

그러자 다윗은 성막에 들어가서 여호와 앞에 앉아 이렇게 기도하였다. '주 여호와여, 나는 누구며 내 가족은 무엇인데 나에게 이런 축복을 베풀어 주셨습니까?

여호와께서 나를 위해 이미 행하신 일도 과분한데 이제 내 집안의 장래 일까지 말씀해 주셨으니 그런 관대하심이 어찌 인간의 표준과 비교할 수 있겠습니까?

여호와께서는 이 종이 어떤 사람인가를 다 알고 계시는데 내가 주께 무슨 말을 할 수 있겠습니까?

And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever.

According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so did Nathan speak unto David.

Then went king David in, and sat before the LORD, and he said, Who am I, O Lord GOD? and what is my house, that thou hast brought me hitherto?

And this was yet a small thing in thy sight, O Lord GOD; but thou hast spoken also of thy servant's house for a great while to come. And is this the manner of man, O Lord GOD?

And what can David say more unto thee? for thou, Lord GOD, knowest thy servant.

주께서는 주의 말씀과 뜻에 따라서 이 큰 일을 행하시고 이것을 주의 종에게 알리셨습니다.

주 여호와여, 주는 정말 위대하십니다! 우리는 지금까지 주와 같은 신이 있다는 말을 들어 보지 못했고 주 외에 참 신이 있다는 말도 들어 보지 못했습니다.

이 지구상에서 주의 백성 이스라엘과 같은 축복을 받은 나라가 어디 있습니까? 주께서는 주의 이름을 영광스럽게 하시고자 주의 택한 백성을 구하시고 이집트와 그 신들을 파멸시키려고 큰 기적을 행하셨습니다.

주께서 이스라엘을 택하여 영원히 주의 백성으로 삼으셨으니 여호와께서 저희 하나님이 되셨습니다.

주 여호와여, 이제 나와 내 집안에 관해서 약속하신 말씀대로 행하셔서

For thy word's sake, and according to thine own heart, hast thou done all these great things, to make thy servant know them.

Wherefore thou art great, O LORD God: for there is none like thee, neither is there any God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears.

And what one nation in the earth is like thy people, even like Israel, whom God went to redeem for a people to himself, and to make him a name, and to do for you great things and terrible, for thy land, before thy people, which thou redeemedst to thee from Egypt, from the nations and their gods?

For thou hast confirmed to thyself thy people Israel to be a people unto thee for ever: and thou, LORD, art become their God.

And now, O LORD God, the word that thou hast spoken concerning thy servant, and concerning his house, establish it for ever, and do as thou hast said.

사람들이 주의 이름을 영원히 높여 전능하신 여호와는 이스라엘의 하나님이라고 말하게 하시고 주의 종 다윗의 왕조가 주 앞에서 견고하게 하소서.

전능하신 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님이시여, 주께서 이 모든 것을 나에게 알리시고 또 나와 내 자손을 통하여 이스라엘 왕국을 세우겠다고 말씀하셨으므로 내가 이런 기도를 드릴 마음이 생겼습니다.

주 여호와여, 주는 하나님이십니다. 주의 말씀은 진실하여 주의 종에게 이런 좋은 약속을 하셨습니다.

이제 이 종의 집안을 축복하셔서 이 축복이 주 앞에서 영원히 지속되게 하소서. 주 여호와여, 주께서 말씀하셨으므로 이 종의 집안이 주의 축복으로 영원히 복을 누릴 것입니다.'

And let thy name be magnified for ever, saying, The LORD of hosts is the God over Israel: and let the house of thy servant David be established before thee.

For thou, O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, hast revealed to thy servant, saying, I will build thee an house: therefore hath thy servant found in his heart to pray this prayer unto thee.

And now, O Lord GOD, thou art that God, and thy words be true, and thou hast promised this goodness unto thy servant:

Therefore now let it please thee to bless the house of thy servant, that it may continue for ever before thee: for thou, O Lord GOD, hast spoken it: and with thy blessing let the house of thy servant be blessed for ever.

	다윗 왕국의 강성(8:1-8:18)

그 후에 다윗은 블레셋 사람을 다시 침략하여 그들의 제일 큰 성인 가드를 점령하고 그들에게 항복을 받았다.

그는 또 모압을 쳐서 포로들을 땅바닥에 나란히 눕혀 놓고 줄로 재어 3분의 2는 죽이고 3분의 1은 살려 주었다. 그리고 살아 남은 모압 사람들은 다윗의 종이 되어 그에게 조공을 바쳤다.

그런 다음 다윗은 르홉의 아들인 소바 왕 하닷에셀을 공격했는데 이것은 하닷에셀이 유프라테스강 상류 일대를 다시 장악하려고 했기 때문이었다.

그 전투에서 다윗은 마병 1,700명과 보병 20,000명을 생포하고 전차 100대의 말을 제외한 나머지 말들은 모조리 발의 힘줄을 끊어 버렸다.

And after this it came to pass that David smote the Philistines, and subdued them: and David took Methegammah out of the hand of the Philistines.

And he smote Moab, and measured them with a line, casting them down to the ground; even with two lines measured he to put to death, and with one full line to keep alive. And so the Moabites became David's servants, and brought gifts.

David smote also Hadadezer, the son of Rehob, king of Zobah, as he went to recover his border at the river Euphrates.

And David took from him a thousand chariots, and seven hundred horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen: and David houghed all the chariot horses, but reserved of them for an hundred chariots.

And when the Syrians of Damascus came to succour Hadadezer king of Zobah, David slew of the Syrians two and twenty thousand men.

다마스커스에 주둔군을 두었다. 그때부터 시리아 사람은 다윗의 종이 되어 그에게 조공을 바쳤다. 이와 같이 여호와께서는 다윗이 가는 곳마다 그에게 승리를 주셨다.

다윗은 하닷에셀 왕의 신하들이 사용하던 금방패를 빼앗아 예루살렘으로 가져왔고

또 하닷에셀이 통치하던 성인 베다와 베로대에서 아주 많은 양의 놋도 빼앗아 왔다.

하맛 왕 도이는 다윗이 하닷에셀과의 전투에서 승리했다는 말을 듣고

그를 축하하기 위해 자기 아들 요람을 보냈다. 이것은 하닷에셀과 도이가 서로 적대 관계에 있었기 때문이었다. 그는 다윗에게 은과 금과 놋 제품을 선물로 보냈다.

Then David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus: and the Syrians became servants to David, and brought gifts. And the LORD preserved David whithersoever he went.

And David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadadezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.

And from Betah, and from Berothai, cities of Hadadezer, king David took exceeding much brass.

When Toi king of Hamath heard that David had smitten all the host of Hadadezer,

Then Toi sent Joram his son unto king David, to salute him, and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer, and smitten him: for Hadadezer had wars with Toi. And Joram brought with him vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and vessels of brass:

다윗은 이 모든 것을 시리아, 모압, 암몬, 블레셋, 아말렉, 그리고 소바 왕 하닷에셀에게서 빼앗은 전리품과 함께 여호와께 바쳤다.

다윗은 '소금 골짜기'에서 에돔 사람 18,000명을 죽이고 돌아왔을 때 더욱 유명해졌다.

그가 에돔의 전 지역에 주둔군을 두었으므로 에돔 사람들도 다윗의 종이 되었다. 이와 같이 여호와께서는 다윗이 가는 곳마다 그에게 승리를 주셨다.

다윗은 이스라엘 전역을 다스리며 모든 백성을 위해 언제나 공정하고 옳은 일을 하였다.

Which also king David did dedicate unto the LORD, with the silver and gold that he had dedicated of all nations which he subdued;

Of Syria, and of Moab, and of the children of Ammon, and of the Philistines, and of Amalek, and of the spoil of Hadadezer, son of Rehob, king of Zobah.

And David gat him a name when he returned from smiting of the Syrians in the valley of salt, being eighteen thousand men.

And he put garrisons in Edom; throughout all Edom put he garrisons, and all they of Edom became David's servants. And the LORD preserved David whithersoever he went.

And David reigned over all Israel; and David executed judgment and justice unto all his people.

당시 그의 군대 총사령관은 스루야의 아들 요압이었고 그의 역사관은 아힐룻의 아들 여호사밧이었으며

And Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the host; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder;

And Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, were the priests; and Seraiah was the scribe;

And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over both the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and David's sons were chief rulers.

	므비보셋을 돌아본 다윗(9:1-9:13)

어느 날 다윗은 사울의 집안 사람 중에 아직도 살아 남은 자가 있을지도 모른다는 생각을 하게 되었다. 이것은 다윗이 요나단을 생각해서 그에게 은혜를 베풀고 싶었기 때문이었다.

다윗은 사울의 종 중에 시바라는 사람이 있다는 말을 듣고 그를 불러 물었다. '네가 시바냐?' '예, 제가 시바입니다.'

'사울의 집안에 살아 남은 자가 없느냐? 내가 그에게 은혜를 베풀고 싶다.' '요나단의 절뚝발이 아들 하나가 있습니다.'

'그가 어디에 있느냐?' '로-데발에 있는 암미엘의 아들 마길의 집에 있습니다.'

그래서 다윗은 사람을 보내 사울의 손자이며 요나단의 아들인 므비보셋을 데려왔다. 그가 두려워하며 다윗에게 나아와 정중하게 절하자

And David said, Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may shew him kindness for Jonathan's sake?

And there was of the house of Saul a servant whose name was Ziba. And when they had called him unto David, the king said unto him, Art thou Ziba? And he said, Thy servant is he.

And the king said, Is there not yet any of the house of Saul, that I may shew the kindness of God unto him? And Ziba said unto the king, Jonathan hath yet a son, which is lame on his feet.

And the king said unto him, Where is he? And Ziba said unto the king, Behold, he is in the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel, in Lodebar.

Then king David sent, and fetched him out of the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel, from Lodebar.

다윗이 그에게 말하였다. '두려워하지 말아라. 내가 너의 아버지 요나단을 생각하여 너에게 은혜를 베풀려고 너를 불렀다. 내가 너의 할아버지 사울이 소유했던 땅을 모두 너에게 돌려 주고 또 내가 너를 항상 내 식탁에서 먹도록 하겠다.'

그때 므비보셋이 왕 앞에 다시 절하며 말하였다. '이 종이 무엇인데 대왕께서 죽은 개와 같은 저에게 이런 친절을 베푸십니까?'

그때 왕은 사울의 종 시바를 불러 이렇게 말하였다. '내가 사울과 그 가족이 소유했던 모든 것을 네 주인의 손자에게 주었다.

그러므로 너와 네 아들들과 네 종들은 그를 위해 농사를 지어 그 가족에게 양식을 공급하라. 그러나 므비보셋은 항상 왕궁에 살면서 나와 함께 식사할 것이다.' (시바에게는 15명의 아들과 20명의 종이 있었다.)

Now when Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, was come unto David, he fell on his face, and did reverence. And David said, Mephibosheth. And he answered, Behold thy servant!

And David said unto him, Fear not: for I will surely shew thee kindness for Jonathan thy father's sake, and will restore thee all the land of Saul thy father; and thou shalt eat bread at my table continually.

And he bowed himself, and said, What is thy servant, that thou shouldest look upon such a dead dog as I am?

Then the king called to Ziba, Saul's servant, and said unto him, I have given unto thy master's son all that pertained to Saul and to all his house.

Thou therefore, and thy sons, and thy servants, shall till the land for him, and thou shalt bring in the fruits, that thy master's son may have food to eat: but Mephibosheth thy master's son shall eat bread alway at my table. Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.

그러자 그는 '대왕께서 명령하신 대로 하겠습니다.' 하고 대답하였다. 그때부터 므비보셋은 다윗의 식탁에서 왕자들과 함께 식사하였다.

므비보셋에게는 미가라는 젊은 아들 하나가 있었으며 시바의 집에 사는 사람들이 모두 므비보셋의 종이 되었다.

그러나 두 발을 다 저는 므비보셋은 항상 왕의 식탁에서 음식을 먹으며 예루살렘의 왕궁에서 살았다.

Then said Ziba unto the king, According to all that my lord the king hath commanded his servant, so shall thy servant do. As for Mephibosheth, said the king, he shall eat at my table, as one of the king's sons.

And Mephibosheth had a young son, whose name was Micha. And all that dwelt in the house of Ziba were servants unto Mephibosheth.

So Mephibosheth dwelt in Jerusalem: for he did eat continually at the king's table; and was lame on both his feet.
