- 성도들을 돕는 일에 대해서는 내가 다시 여러분에게 말할 필요가 없습니다.
- 나는 여러분의 열심을 잘 알기 때문에 여러분이 지난 해부터 이 일을 준비했다고 마케도니아 사람들에게 자랑까지 했습니다. 그래서 많은 사람들이 여러분의 열심에 대해서 듣고 자극을 받아 헌금을 하게 되었습니다.
- 그리고 내가 형제들을 보내는 것은 우리가 이 일에 대해서 여러분을 자랑한 것이 헛되지 않고 내가 말할 때로 여러분이 헌금을 미리 준비하도록 하기 위한 것입니다.
- 만일 마케도니아 사람들이 나와 함께 가서 여러분이 준비하지 않은 것을 보면 여러분은 말할 것도 없고 우리가 그처럼 믿었던 일에 크게 부끄러움을 당할 것입니다.
- 그래서 나는 이 형제들이 먼저 여러분에게 가서 여러분이 전에 약속한 헌금을 미리 준비하게 하는 것이 필요하다고 생각했습니다. 이렇게 미리 준비해야 축복의 헌금이 되고 탐심에 좌우된 억지 헌금이 되지 않을 것입니다.

- For as touching the ministering to the saints, it is superfluous for me to write to you:
- For I know the forwardness of your mind, for which I boast of you to them of Macedonia, that Achaia was ready a year ago; and your zeal hath provoked very many.
- Yet have I sent the brethren, lest our boasting of you should be in vain in this behalf; that, as I said, ye may be ready:
- Lest haply if they of Macedonia come with me, and find you unprepared, we (that we say not, ye) should be ashamed in this same confident boasting.
- Therefore I thought it necessary to exhort the brethren, that they would go before unto you, and make up beforehand your bounty, whereof ye had notice before, that the same might be ready, as a matter of bounty, and not as of covetousness.

- 적게 뿌리는 사람은 적게 거두고 많이 뿌리는 사람은 많이 거둔다는 사실을 기억하십시오.
- 각자 마음에 작정한 대로 바치고 아까와하거나 억지로 하지 마십시오. 하나님은 기쁜 마음으로 내는 사람을 사랑하십니다.
- 하나님은 여러분이 모든 일에 항상 풍족하여 선한 일을 많이 할 수 있도록 여러분에게 모든 은혜를 넘치게 주실 수 있습니다.
- 성경에도 '그가 가난한 사람들을 후하게 구제해 주었으니 그의 의로운 행위가 영원히 남을 것이다.' 라고 기록되어 있습니다.
- 농부에게 뿌릴 씨와 먹을 양식을 주시는 하나님은 여러분에게도 뿌릴 씨를 주시고 자라게 하셔서 여러분이 의의 열매를 더 많이 맺게 하실 것입니다.

- But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.
- Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
- And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:
- (As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever.
- Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;)

- 그리하여 여러분은 모든 것에 풍족하여 후한 헌금을 하게 될 것이며 우리를 통해 그 헌금이 전해질 때 많은 사람이 하나님께 감사하게 될 것입니다.
- 이와 같이 돕는 일은 성도들의 부족한 것을 채워 줄 뿐만 아니라 하나님께 대한 감사도 넘치게 합니다.
- 여러분이 하고 있는 이 봉사의 직무는 여러분의 고백처럼 여러분이 그리스도의 복음에 순종하고 있다는 것과 그들뿐만 아니라 모든 사람에게 여러분이 후한 헌금을 한다는 증거가 되어 그들이 하나님을 찬양하게 될 것입니다.
- 그리고 그들은 여러분에게 주신 하나님의 넘치는 은혜를 보고 깊은 애정을 가지고 여러분을 위해 기도할 것입니다.
- 말로 다할 수 없는 선물을 주시는 하나님께 감사를 드립니다.

- Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God.
- For the administration of this service not only supplieth the want of the saints, but is abundant also by many thanksgivings unto God;
- Whiles by the experiment of this ministration they glorify God for your professed subjection unto the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal distribution unto them, and unto all men;
- And by their prayer for you, which long after you for the exceeding grace of God in you.
- Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.
