- 나는 하나님이 여러분을 시기하듯이 여러분을 시기하고 있습니다. 이것은 내가 여러분을 순결한 처녀로 한 남편인 그리스도께 드리려고 약혼을 시켰기 때문입니다.
- 그러나 이브가 뱀의 간사한 거짓말에 속아 넘어간 것처럼 여러분의 마음이 부패하여 그리스도에 대한 진실과 순결을 저버리지나 않을까 염려가 됩니다.
- 그것은 누가 여러분에게 와서 우리가 전하지 않은 다른 예수나 여러분이 받지 않은 다른 영이나 다른 복음을 전할 때 여러분이 너무도 쉽게 받아들이기 때문입니다.
- 나는 저 위대하다는 사도들보다 조금도 부족하지 않다고 생각합니다.

- Would to God ye could bear with me a little in my folly: and indeed bear with me.
- For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.
- But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

- 내가 여러분을 높이려고 나를 낮추어 하나님의 기쁜 소식을 값 없이 전한 것이 죄였단 말입니까?
- 내가 여러분을 위해 봉사할 때 다른 교회들이 내 생활비를 담당해 주었습니다. 말하자면 다른 교회의 원조로 여러분을 도운 셈입니다.
- 나는 여러분과 함께 있을 때 생활이 어려웠지만 아무에게도 신세를 지지 않았습니다. 그것은 마케도니아에서 온 형제들이 내가 필요로 하는 것을 채워 주었기 때문입니다. 나는 모든 일이 여러분에게 짐이 되지 않았으며 앞으로도 그럴 것입니다.
- 내 속에 그리스도의 진실을 두고 말하지만 아가야 지방에서는 아무도 나의 이 자랑을 막지 못할 것입니다.

- 나는 지금까지 해온 일을 그대로 계속 밀고 나가겠습니다. 이것은 거짓 사도들이 노리는 기회를 주지 않고 그들도 우리처럼 보수를 받지 않고 일하는 것을 자랑하도륵 하기 위한 것입니다.
- 그들은 거짓되고 속이며 자기를 그리스도의 사도로 가장하는 사람들입니다.
- 이것은 이상한 일이 아닙니다. 사탄도 자기를 빛의 천사로 가장합니다.
- 그러므로 사탄의 종들이 의의 종으로 가장한다고 해서 놀랄 것은 없습니다. 결국 그들의 마지막은 자기들의 행위대로 될 것입니다.
