- 내가 이처럼 애쓰는 것은 그들이 마음에 용기를 얻고 사랑으로 단합하며 이해함으로 얻게 되는 완전한 확신의 부요함에 이르러 하나님의 비밀인 그리스도를 알도록 하기 위한 것입니다.
- 그리스도 안에는 지혜와 지식의 모든 보물이 감추어져 있습니다.
- 나는 아무도 달콤한 말로 여러분을 속이지 못하게 하려고 이 말을 하는 것입니다.
- 내가 몸은 여러분을 떠나 있으나 마음은 여러분과 함께 있어서 여러분이 질서 있는 생활을 하고 그리스도를 믿는 믿음에 굳게 선 것을 보니 기쁩니다.

- For I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh;
- That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;
- In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
- And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words.
- For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ.
