- 내 아들아, 내가 하는 말에 귀를 기울이고 주의 깊게 들어라.
- 그것을 네게서 떠나지 말게 하고 네 마음에 깊이 간직하라.
- 내 말은 깨닫는 자에게 생명이 되고 온 몸에 건강이 된다.
- 그 무엇보다도 네 마음을 지켜라. 여기서부터 생명의 샘이 흘러나온다.
- 더럽고 추한 말을 버려라. 거짓되고 잘못된 말은 입 밖에도 내지 말아라.

- My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.
- Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.
- For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.
- Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
- Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee.
