- 내 아들아, 내 말을 지키며 내 교훈을 잘 간직하여라.
- 내 명령을 지켜라. 그러면 네가 살 것이다. 나의 가르침을 네 눈동자처럼 지키고
- 이것을 항상 간직하고 네 마음에 새겨라.
- 너는 지혜를 네 누이처럼 생각하고 가까운 친구처럼 여겨라.
- 그러면 이것이 너를 지켜 음란한 여자들의 유혹에 빠지지 않게 할 것이다.

- My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee.
- Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye.
- Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart.
- Say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister; and call understanding thy kinswoman:
- That they may keep thee from the strange woman, from the stranger which flattereth with her words.
