- 열심히 일하는 농부는 먹을 것이 풍족할 것이나 헛된 일을 추구하는 사람은 지각이 없는 자이다.
- 악인은 부정 이득을 탐하여도 의로운 사람은 노력의 댓가로 만족한다.
- 악인은 자기가 한 말로 덫에 걸려도 의로운 사람은 환난에서 벗어난다.
- 사람이 진실을 말하면 큰 만족을 얻고 열심히 일하면 많은 복이 돌아온다.
- 어리석은 사람은 자기 행위가 옳은 줄로 생각하지만 지혜로운 사람은 남의 충고를 듣는다.

- He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread: but he that followeth vain persons is void of understanding.
- The wicked desireth the net of evil men: but the root of the righteous yieldeth fruit.
- The wicked is snared by the transgression of his lips: but the just shall come out of trouble.
- A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth: and the recompence of a man's hands shall be rendered unto him.
