다니엘 3:1-4:18

 느부갓네살 왕은 모든 백성에게 자신이 만든 금 신상에 절할 것을 반포하고, 이 명령에 불복종하는 사드락, 메삭, 아벳느고를 풀무불로 처형하라고 명하였다. 그러나 그들이 하나님의 능력으로 불 속에서 살아난 것을 보자 왕은 하나님을 찬양했으며 아무도 하나님을 모독하지 못하도록 조서를 내렸다. 왕은 두번째 꿈을 꾸고 다니엘에게 꿈 해석을 요청하였다.
  
  금신상과 풀무불(3:1-3:30)    
 
  1. 느부갓네살왕은 높이 27미터, 너비 2,7미터의 금신상을 만들었다. 왕은 그 신상을 바빌론도의 두라 평야에 세우고
  2. 총독, 지방 장관, 군사령관, 왕의 고문, 재무관, 재판관, 치안 판사, 그 밖에 각 도의 모든 관리들에게 자기가 세운 신상의 제막식에 참석하라고 지시하였다.
  3. 그래서 그들은 모두 제막식에 참석하여 느부갓네살왕이 세운 신상 앞에 섰다.
  4. 그러자 전령관이 큰 소리로 이렇게 외쳤다. '이 곳에 모인 여러 민족과 백성 여러분, 이것은 왕의 명령입니다.
  5. 여러분이 나팔과 피리와 수금과 그 밖의 악기 소리를 들으면 엎드려 느부갓네살왕이 세운 금 신상에게 절하십시오.
  1. Nebuchadnezzar the king made an image of gold, whose height was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof six cubits: he set it up in the plain of Dura, in the province of Babylon.
  2. Then Nebuchadnezzar the king sent to gather together the princes, the governors, and the captains, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, to come to the dedication of the image which Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.
  3. Then the princes, the governors, and captains, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, were gathered together unto the dedication of the image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up; and they stood before the image that Nebuchadnezzar had set up.
  4. Then an herald cried aloud, To you it is commanded, O people, nations, and languages,
  5. That at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king hath set up:
  1. 누구든지 엎드려 절하지 않는 사람은 즉시 뜨겁게 타는 용광로에 던져질 것입니다.'
  2. 그래서 악기 소리가 울려 퍼지자 그들은 느부갓네살왕이 세운 금 신상 앞에 엎드려 절하였다.
  3. 이때 몇몇 바빌로니아 사람들이 유다 사람들을 고발하며
  4. 느부갓네살왕에게 이렇게 말하였다. '대왕이시여, 오래 오래 사십시오.
  5. 대왕께서는 누구든지 나팔과 피리와 수금과 그 밖의 악기 소리를 들으면 엎드려 금신상에게 절하라고 명령하셨습니다.
  1. And whoso falleth not down and worshippeth shall the same hour be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.
  2. Therefore at that time, when all the people heard the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and all kinds of musick, all the people, the nations, and the languages, fell down and worshipped the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.
  3. Wherefore at that time certain Chaldeans came near, and accused the Jews.
  4. They spake and said to the king Nebuchadnezzar, O king, live for ever.
  5. Thou, O king, hast made a decree, that every man that shall hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, shall fall down and worship the golden image:
  1. 그리고 누구든지 엎드려 절하지 않는 자는 뜨겁게 타는 용광로에 던져 넣을 것이라고 말씀하셨습니다.
  2. 그런데 왕이 세워 바빌론도의 업무를 감독하게 하신 유다 사람 사드락과 메삭과 아벳느고는 왕의 명령에 불순종하여 왕의 신들을 섬기지 않고 왕이 세우신 금 신상에게 절하지 않습니다.'
  3. 그 말을 들은 느부갓네살왕은 노발 대발하며 그 세 사람을 당장 끌어오라고 명령하였다. 그래서 그들을 끌어오자
  4. 왕이 그들에게 이렇게 말하였다. '사드락과 메삭과 아벳느고야, 너희가 내 신들을 섬기지 않고 내가 세운 금 신상에게 절하지 않는다는 말이 사실이냐?
  5. 그렇다면 이제라도 너희가 나팔과 피리와 수금과 그 밖의 악기 소리를 듣거든 내가 만든 신상 앞에 엎드려 절하라. 만일 이번에도 너희가 절하지 않는다면 너희를 뜨겁게 타는 용광로에 던져 넣을 것이다. 그렇게 되면 그 어떤 신이 너희를 내 손에서 구해 내겠느냐?'
  1. And whoso falleth not down and worshippeth, that he should be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.
  2. There are certain Jews whom thou hast set over the affairs of the province of Babylon, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego; these men, O king, have not regarded thee: they serve not thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.
  3. Then Nebuchadnezzar in his rage and fury commanded to bring Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Then they brought these men before the king.
  4. Nebuchadnezzar spake and said unto them, Is it true, O Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, do not ye serve my gods, nor worship the golden image which I have set up?
  5. Now if ye be ready that at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the image which I have made; well: but if ye worship not, ye shall be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace; and who is that God that shall deliver you out of my hands?
  1. 그러자 사드락과 메삭과 아벳느고가 왕에게 이렇게 대답하였다. '느부갓네살왕이시여, 우리는 이 문제에 대해서 우리 입장을 변호할 필요를 느끼지 않습니다.
  2. 만일 우리가 뜨겁게 타는 용광로 속에 던져진다고 해도 우리가 섬기는 하나님은 우리를 그 용광로에서 구해 내실 수 있습니다. 그리고 그분은 반드시 우리를 왕의 손에서 건져내실 것입니다.
  3. 비록 하나님이 우리를 구해 내지 않으실지라도 우리는 왕의 신들을 섬기지 않을 것이며 또 왕이 세우신 금 신상에게 절하지도 않을 것이니 왕이시여, 그런 줄 아십시오.'
  4. 그러자 느부갓네살왕은 잔뜩 화가 났으며 사드락과 메삭과 아벳느고를 대하는 그의 얼굴 표정도 달라졌다. 그는 평소 때보다 용광로의 불을 7배나 더 뜨겁게 하라고 지시하고
  5. 또 건장한 군인 몇 사람에게 사드락과 메삭과 아벳느고를 단단히 묶어 뜨겁게 타는 용광로 속에 던져 넣으라고 명령하였다.
  1. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter.
  2. If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.
  3. But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.
  4. Then was Nebuchadnezzar full of fury, and the form of his visage was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego: therefore he spake, and commanded that they should heat the furnace one seven times more than it was wont to be heated.
  5. And he commanded the most mighty men that were in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace.
  1. 그래서 그들은 이 세 사람을 정장한 그대로 묶어서 뜨겁게 타는 용광로 속에 던져넣었다.
  2. 왕의 명령이 엄하고 용광로의 불길은 너무 뜨거웠기 때문에 사드락과 메삭과 아벳느고를 붙든 사람들이 그 불길에 타서 죽었다.
  3. 그리고 이 세 사람은 꽁꽁 묶인 채 뜨겁게 타는 용광로 속에 떨어졌다.
  4. 그런데 바로 그때 느부갓네살왕은 깜짝 놀라 일어서면서 자기 보좌관들에게 물었다. '우리가 묶어서 불에 던진 자는 세명이 아니었느냐?' '그렇습니다. 폐하.'
  5. '그런데 어째서 네 사람이 불 가운데 걸어다니고 있느냐? 저 사람들은 묶여 있지도 않고 상한 흔적도 없으며 더구나. 네 번째 사람은 그 모습이 신들의 아들과 같구나.'
  1. Then these men were bound in their coats, their hosen, and their hats, and their other garments, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.
  2. Therefore because the king's commandment was urgent, and the furnace exceeding hot, the flames of the fire slew those men that took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.
  3. And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.
  4. Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonied, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king.
  5. He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.
  1. 그리고서 느부갓네살왕은 무섭게 타오르는 용광로 앞으로 다가가서 '가장 높으신 하나님의 종, 사드락과 메삭과 아벳느고야! 이리로 나오너라.' 하고 외쳤다. 그러자 그들이 불 가운데서 걸어나왔다.
  2. 그래서 총독들과 지방 장관들과 군사령관들과 왕의 고문들이 모여 이 세 사람을 보니 화상을 입지도 않았고 머리털도 그슬리지 않았으며 그들의 옷도 상하지 않았고 불탄 냄새도 없었다.
  3. 그때 느부갓네살왕이 말하였다. '사드락과 메삭과 아벳느고의 하나님을 찬양하라! 그가 그의 천사를 보내 자기를 신뢰하는 종들을 구원하셨다. 그들은 자기들의 하나님 외에 다른 신에게 경배하지 않으려고 왕의 명령을 거역하고 기꺼이 자기들의 목숨까지 내놓았다.
  4. 그러므로 이제 내가 명령한다. 어떤 민족이나 백성을 막론하고 사드락과 메삭과 아벳느고의 하나님에 대하여 좋지 않게 말하는 자는 누구든지 그 몸을 갈기갈기 찢고 그의 집을 잿더미로 만들어 버려라. 이런 방법으로 사람을 구할 수 있는 신은 천하에 없다.'
  5. 그리고 왕은 바빌론도에서 사드락과 메삭과 아벳느고에게 보다 높은 직책을 주었다.
  1. Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace, and spake, and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, ye servants of the most high God, come forth, and come hither. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, came forth of the midst of the fire.
  2. And the princes, governors, and captains, and the king's counsellors, being gathered together, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was an hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them.
  3. Then Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king's word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.
  4. Therefore I make a decree, That every people, nation, and language, which speak any thing amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made a dunghill: because there is no other God that can deliver after this sort.
  5. Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, in the province of Babylon.
 
  느부갓네살의 두번째 꿈(4:1-4:18)    
 
  1. 느부갓네살왕은 다음과 같은 조서를 내렸다. : 천하의 모든 나라와 민족들에게 평안이 있기를 바란다.
  2. 가장 높으신 하나님이 나를 위해 행하신 놀라운 일과 기적에 대하여 내가 여러 민족들에게 말하는 것을 기쁨으로 여긴다.
  3. 믿어지지 않는 기적과 놀라운 일을 보여 주신 하나님, 그는 영원한 왕이 되어 대대로 다스리실 것이다.
  4. 나 느부갓네살왕은 궁전에서 편안히 지내다가
  5. 무서운 꿈을 꾸었는데 나는 잠자리에 누워 생각하는 중에 이상한 환상으로 몹시 번민하였다.
  1. Nebuchadnezzar the king, unto all people, nations, and languages, that dwell in all the earth; Peace be multiplied unto you.
  2. I thought it good to shew the signs and wonders that the high God hath wrought toward me.
  3. How great are his signs! and how mighty are his wonders! his kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and his dominion is from generation to generation.
  4. I Nebuchadnezzar was at rest in mine house, and flourishing in my palace:
  5. I saw a dream which made me afraid, and the thoughts upon my bed and the visions of my head troubled me.
  1. 그래서 내가 바빌론에 있는 모든 박사들을 불러 그 꿈을 해몽하라고 명령하였다.
  2. 점장이와 마법사와 무당과 점성가들이 들어왔을 때 내가 그 꿈을 말했으나 그들은 내 꿈을 해몽하지 못하였다.
  3. 그 후에 내 신의 이름을 따서 벨드사살이라고 하는 다니엘이 들어왔다. 그에게는 거룩한 신들의 영이 있었다. 그래서 나는 그에게 이렇게 말하였다.
  4. '박사장 벨드사살아, 나는 네 안에 거룩한 신들의 영이 있어 네가 어려워서 풀지 못할 신비스러운 일은 없는 줄로 알고 있다. 그러니 너는 내 꿈을 해몽하라.
  5. 내가 잠자리에 누워서 본 환상은 이렇다 내가 보니 땅의 중앙에 큰 나무 하나가 있었다.
  1. Therefore made I a decree to bring in all the wise men of Babylon before me, that they might make known unto me the interpretation of the dream.
  2. Then came in the magicians, the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers: and I told the dream before them; but they did not make known unto me the interpretation thereof.
  3. But at the last Daniel came in before me, whose name was Belteshazzar, according to the name of my God, and in whom is the spirit of the holy gods: and before him I told the dream, saying,
  4. O Belteshazzar, master of the magicians, because I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in thee, and no secret troubleth thee, tell me the visions of my dream that I have seen, and the interpretation thereof.
  5. Thus were the visions of mine head in my bed; I saw, and behold a tree in the midst of the earth, and the height thereof was great.
  1. 그 나무는 점점 크게 자라서 그 끝이 하늘에 닿아 세상의 모든 사람들이 볼 수 있을 정도였다.
  2. 그 잎사귀는 아름답고 그 가지에는 온 세상 사람들이 다 먹을 수 있을 만큼 많은 과일이 주렁주렁 달렸으며 들짐승이 그 그늘에서 쉬고 공중의 새들이 그 가지에 깃들이며 온 세상 사람들이 그 과일을 먹었다.
  3. 내가 또 잠자리에 누워 환상 가운데 보니 하늘에서 한 천사가 내려와
  4. 큰소리로 이렇게 외쳤다. '그 나무를 베고 가지를 찍고 잎사귀를 떨며 그 열매를 흩어 버리고 짐승들을 그 나무 아래서 몰아내고 새들을 그 가지에서 쫓아내어라.
  5. 그러나 그루터기는 땅에 남겨 두고 철과 놋줄로 잡아맨 채 풀밭에 그대로 두어라. 이 사람이 하늘의 이슬을 맞고 땅의 식물 가운데서 짐승과 함께 살게 하라.
  1. The tree grew, and was strong, and the height thereof reached unto heaven, and the sight thereof to the end of all the earth:
  2. The leaves thereof were fair, and the fruit thereof much, and in it was meat for all: the beasts of the field had shadow under it, and the fowls of the heaven dwelt in the boughs thereof, and all flesh was fed of it.
  3. I saw in the visions of my head upon my bed, and, behold, a watcher and an holy one came down from heaven;
  4. He cried aloud, and said thus, Hew down the tree, and cut off his branches, shake off his leaves, and scatter his fruit: let the beasts get away from under it, and the fowls from his branches:
  5. Nevertheless leave the stump of his roots in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts in the grass of the earth:
  1. 그가 7년 동안 사람의 마음을 갖지 않고 짐승의 마음을 갖게 될 것이다.
  2. 이것은 순찰하는 천사들이 선언한 것이요 거룩한 자들이 명령한 것이니 가장 높으신 하나님이 인간 나라를 다스리시고 자기 뜻대로 누구에게든지 나라를 주시며 그가 원하시면 가장 천한 자도 왕위에 앉힌다는 사실을 온 세상 사람들이 알게 하기 위해서이다.'
  3. 이것이 나 느부갓네살왕이 꾼 꿈이다. 벨드사살아, 이제 너는 이 꿈을 해몽하라. 이 나라의 모든 박사들이 이 꿈을 해몽하지 못했지만 너에게는 거룩한 신들의 영이 있으니 너는 이 꿈을 풀어낼 수가 있다.'
  1. Let his heart be changed from man's, and let a beast's heart be given unto him; and let seven times pass over him.
  2. This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.
  3. This dream I king Nebuchadnezzar have seen. Now thou, O Belteshazzar, declare the interpretation thereof, forasmuch as all the wise men of my kingdom are not able to make known unto me the interpretation: but thou art able; for the spirit of the holy gods is in thee.
