	창세기 3:1-4:26 여자가 뱀의 유혹을 받아 하나님께서 금하신 선악을 알게 하는 나무의 실과를 먹고 아담에게도 먹게 하였다. 이를 아신 하나님께서는 뱀과 여자와 아담에게 저주와 고통과 죽음을 선언하셨다. 에덴 동산에서 쫓겨난 아담과 하와는 가인과 아벨을 낳았다. 이들이 장성하여 하나님께 제물을 드렸는데, 하나님께서 아벨의 제물만 열납하시자 이를 본 가인은 아벨을 죽이고 놋 땅에 거했다.

	인간의 타락(3:1-3:24)

여호와 하나님이 창조하신 동물 중에서 뱀이 가장 교활하였다. 뱀이 여자에게 '하나님이 정말 너희에게 동산에 있는 모든 과일을 먹지 말라고 하셨느냐?' 하고 묻자

여자가 뱀에게 대답하였다. '우리가 동산의 과일을 먹을 수 있으나

동산 중앙에 있는 과일은 하나님이 먹지도 말고 만지지도 말아라. 그렇지 않으면 너희가 죽게 될 것이다 라고 말씀하셨다.'

그때 뱀이 여자에게 '너희는 절대로 죽지 않을 것이다.

하나님이 너희에게 그렇게 말씀하신 것은 너희가 그것을 먹으면 눈이 밝아져서 하나님과 같이되어 선악을 분별하게 될 것을 하나님이 아셨기 때문이다' 하고 말하였다.

Now the serpent was more crafty than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, "Indeed, has God said, 'You shall not eat from any tree of the garden'?"

The woman said to the serpent, "From the fruit of the trees of the garden we may eat;

but from the fruit of the tree which is in the middle of the garden, God has said, 'You shall not eat from it or touch it, or you will die.'"

The serpent said to the woman, "You surely will not die!

"For God knows that in the day you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."

여자가 그 나무의 과일을 보니 먹음직스럽고 보기에 아름다우며 지혜롭게 할만큼 탐스럽기도 하였다. 그래서 여자가 그 과일을 따서 먹고 자기 남편에게 주니 그도 그것을 먹었다.

그러자 갑자기 그들의 눈이 밝아져서 자기들이 벌거벗은 것을 알게 되었다. 그래서 그들은 무화과나무 잎을 엮어서 치마를 만들어 몸을 가렸다.

그 날 저녁, 날이 서늘할 때에 아담과 그의 아내는 여호와 하나님이 동산에서 거니시는 소리를 듣고 그 분의 낯을 피하여 동산 나무 사이에 숨었다.

그때 여호와 하나님이 아담을 불러 물었다. '아담아, 네가 어디 있느냐?'

'내가 동산에서 하나님이 거니시는 소리를 듣고, 벗었으므로 두려워 숨었습니다'

When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was desirable to make one wise, she took from its fruit and ate; and she gave also to her husband with her, and he ate.

Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loin coverings.

They heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden.

Then the LORD God called to the man, and said to him, "Where are you?"

He said, "I heard the sound of You in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid myself."

'네가 벗은 것을 누가 너에게 말해 주었느냐? 내가 먹지 말라고 한 과일을 네가 먹었구나!'

'하나님이 나와 함께 있게 하신 여자가 그 과일을 주어서 내가 먹었습니다'

그때 여호와 하나님이 여자에게 '네가 어째서 이렇게 하였느냐?' 하고 묻자 여자는 '뱀이 꾀어서 내가 먹었습니다' 하고 대답하였다.

그래서 여호와 하나님이 뱀에게 말씀하셨다. '네가 이런 짓을 하였으니 모든 가축과 들짐승보다 더욱 저주를 받아 지금부터 배로 기어다니고 죽을 때까지 흙을 먹을 것이다.

내가 너를 여자와 원수가 되게 하고 너의 후손도 여자의 후손과 원수가 되게 하겠다. 여자의 후손이 네 머리를 상하게 할 것이며 너는 그의 발꿈치를 상하게 할 것이다'

And He said, "Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you not to eat?"

The man said, "The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me from the tree, and I ate."

Then the LORD God said to the woman, "What is this you have done?" And the woman said, "The serpent deceived me, and I ate."

The LORD God said to the serpent, "Because you have done this, Cursed are you more than all cattle, And more than every beast of the field; On your belly you will go, And dust you will eat All the days of your life;

And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her seed; He shall bruise you on the head, And you shall bruise him on the heel."

그리고 하나님이 여자에게 말씀하셨다. '내가 너에게 임신하는 고통을 크게 더할 것이니 네가 진통을 겪으며 자식을 낳을 것이요, 너는 남편을 사모하고 남편은 너를 다스릴 것이다'

그리고서 하나님은 아담에게 말씀하셨다. '네가 네 아내의 말을 듣고 내가 먹지 말라고 한 과일을 먹었으니 땅은 너 때문에 저주를 받고 너는 평생 동안 수고해야 땅의 생산물을 먹게 될 것이다

땅은 너에게 가시와 엉겅퀴를 낼 것이며 너는 들의 채소를 먹어야 할 것이다

너는 이마에 땀을 흘리며 고되게 일을 해서 먹고살다가 마침내 흙으로 돌아갈 것이다. 이것은 네가 흙으로 만들어졌기 때문이다 너는 흙이므로 흙으로 돌아갈 것이다'

아담은 자기 아내의 이름을 '이브'라고 지었는데 이것은 그녀가 온 인류의 어머니가 되었기 때문이다.

To the woman He said, "I will greatly multiply Your pain in childbirth, In pain you will bring forth children; Yet your desire will be for your husband, And he will rule over you."

Then to Adam He said, "Because you have listened to the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree about which I commanded you, saying, 'You shall not eat from it'; Cursed is the ground because of you; In toil you will eat of it All the days of your life.

"Both thorns and thistles it shall grow for you; And you will eat the plants of the field;

By the sweat of your face You will eat bread, Till you return to the ground, Because from it you were taken; For you are dust, And to dust you shall return."

Now the man called his wife's name Eve, because she was the mother of all the living.

그리고 여호와 하나님은 아담과 그의 아내에게 가죽옷을 만들어 입히셨다.

여호와 하나님이 '이제 사람이 우리 중 하나같이 되어 선악을 알게 되었으니 그가 생명 나무의 과일을 따먹고 영원히 살게 해서는 안 된다' 하시고

그 사람을 에덴 동산에서 추방하여 그의 구성 원소인 땅을 경작하게 하셨다.

이와 같이 하나님은 그 사람을 쫓아내시고 에덴 동산 동쪽에 그룹 천사들을 배치하여 사방 도는 화염검으로 생명 나무의 길을 지키게 하셨다.

The LORD God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife, and clothed them.

Then the LORD God said, "Behold, the man has become like one of Us, knowing good and evil; and now, he might stretch out his hand, and take also from the tree of life, and eat, and live forever"--

therefore the LORD God sent him out from the garden of Eden, to cultivate the ground from which he was taken.

So He drove the man out; and at the east of the garden of Eden He stationed the cherubim and the flaming sword which turned every direction to guard the way to the tree of life.

	가인과 아벨(4:1-4:26)

아담의 아내 이브가 임신하여 아들을 낳고 '내가 여호와의 도움으로 남자아이를 얻었다.' 하며 그 이름을 가인이라고 지었다.

이브는 또 가인의 동생 아벨을 낳았는데 아벨은 양치는 목자였고 가인은 농사짓는 사람이었다.

추수 때가 되어 가인은 자기 농산물을 여호와께 예물로 드렸고

아벨은 자기 양의 첫새끼를 잡아 그 중에서도 제일 살지고 좋은 부분을 여호와께 드렸다 여호와께서는 아벨의 예물을 기쁘게 받으셨으나

가인의 예물은 받지 않으셨다. 이 일로 가인이 화를 내며 얼굴을 찡그리자

Now the man had relations with his wife Eve, and she conceived and gave birth to Cain, and she said, "I have gotten a manchild with the help of the LORD."

Again, she gave birth to his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of flocks, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.

So it came about in the course of time that Cain brought an offering to the LORD of the fruit of the ground.

Abel, on his part also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of their fat portions And the LORD had regard for Abel and for his offering;

but for Cain and for his offering He had no regard So Cain became very angry and his countenance fell.

여호와께서 가인에게 말씀하셨다. '네가 어째서 화를 내느냐? 네가 무엇 때문에 얼굴을 찡그리느냐?

네가 옳은 일을 했다면 왜 내가 네 예물을 받지 않겠느냐? 그러나 네가 옳은 일을 하지 않으면 죄가 네 문 앞에 도사리고 앉을 것이다. 죄가 너를 다스리고 싶어하여도 너는 죄를 이겨야 한다'

하루는 가인이 자기 동생 아벨에게 들로 나가자고 하였다. 그런데 그들이 들에 있을 때에 가인이 동생 아벨을 쳐죽이고 말았다.

그때 여호와께서 가인에게 '네 동생 아벨이 어디 있느냐?' 하고 물으시자 가인이 '나는 모릅니다. 내가 동생을 지키는 자입니까?' 하고 대답하였다.

그때 여호와께서 말씀하셨다. '네가 무엇을 하였느냐? 네 동생의 피가 땅에서 나에게 호소하고 있다

Then the LORD said to Cain, "Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen?

"If you do well, will not your countenance be lifted up? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door; and its desire is for you, but you must master it."

Cain told Abel his brother. And it came about when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and killed him.

Then the LORD said to Cain, "Where is Abel your brother?" And he said, "I do not know. Am I my brother's keeper?"

He said, "What have you done? The voice of your brother's blood is crying to Me from the ground.

땅이 입을 벌려 네 손에서 떨어지는 네 동생의 피를 받았으니 이제 너는 땅에서 저주를 받았다.

네가 밭을 갈아도 땅이 너를 위해 농산물을 내지 않을 것이며 너는 땅에서 집 없이 떠돌아다니는 방랑자가 될 것이다'

그러자 가인이 이렇게 말하였다. '내 벌이 너무 가혹하여 감당할 수 없습니다

주께서 오늘 이 땅에서 나를 쫓아내시니 내가 다시는 주를 뵙지 못하고 떠돌아다니는 방랑자가 되어 나를 만나는 자에게 죽임을 당할 것입니다'

그러나 여호와께서는 '그렇지 않다 누구든지 가인을 죽이는 자는 벌을 7배나 받을 것이다' 하시고 가인에게 표를 주어 아무도 그를 죽이지 못하게 하셨다.

"Now you are cursed from the ground, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother's blood from your hand.

"When you cultivate the ground, it will no longer yield its strength to you; you will be a vagrant and a wanderer on the earth."

Cain said to the LORD, "My punishment is too great to bear!

"Behold, You have driven me this day from the face of the ground; and from Your face I will be hidden, and I will be a vagrant and a wanderer on the earth, and whoever finds me will kill me."

So the LORD said to him, "Therefore whoever kills Cain, vengeance will be taken on him sevenfold " And the LORD appointed a sign for Cain, so that no one finding him would slay him.

그래서 가인은 여호와 앞을 떠나 에덴 동쪽의 놋 땅에서 살았다.

가인의 아내가 임신하여 에녹을 낳았다. 가인은 성을 건설하고 자기 아들의 이름을 따서 그 성을 에녹성이라고 불렀다.

그리고 에녹은 이랏을 낳았고 이랏은 므후야엘을, 므후야엘은 므드사엘을, 므드사엘은 라멕을 낳았다.

라멕에게는 아다와 씰라라는 두 아내가 있었다.

아다는 야발을 낳았는데 그는 천막에 살면서 가축을 기르는 자들의 조상이 되었고

Then Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and settled in the land of Nod, east of Eden.

Cain had relations with his wife and she conceived, and gave birth to Enoch; and he built a city, and called the name of the city Enoch, after the name of his son.

Now to Enoch was born Irad, and Irad became the father of Mehujael, and Mehujael became the father of Methushael, and Methushael became the father of Lamech.

Lamech took to himself two wives: the name of the one was Adah, and the name of the other, Zillah.

Adah gave birth to Jabal; he was the father of those who dwell in tents and have livestock.

그의 동생 유발은 수금과 피리를 만들어 사용한 최초의 음악가였다.

그리고 씰라는 두발가인을 낳았는데 그는 구리와 철로 각종 기구를 만드는 자였으며 그에게는 또 나아마라는 누이가 있었다.

어느 날 라멕은 아다와 씰라에게 이렇게 말하였다. '나의 아내들이여, 나에게 귀를 기울여 보시오. 라멕의 아내들이여, 내 말을 들어보시오. 한 젊은이가 나를 쳐서 상처를 입히기에 내가 그를 죽이고 말았소.

가인을 죽이는 자가 7배의 벌을 받는다면 라멕을 죽이는 자는 77배의 벌을 받을 것이오'

아담의 아내는 다시 임신하여 아들을 낳고 '하나님은 가인이 죽인 아벨 대신 나에게 다른 아들을 주셨다.' 하며 그 이름을 '셋'이라고 지었다.

His brother's name was Jubal; he was the father of all those who play the lyre and pipe.

As for Zillah, she also gave birth to Tubal-cain, the forger of all implements of bronze and iron; and the sister of Tubal-cain was Naamah.

Lamech said to his wives, "Adah and Zillah, Listen to my voice, You wives of Lamech, Give heed to my speech, For I have killed a man for wounding me; And a boy for striking me;

If Cain is avenged sevenfold, Then Lamech seventy-sevenfold."

Adam had relations with his wife again; and she gave birth to a son, and named him Seth, for, she said, "God has appointed me another offspring in place of Abel, for Cain killed him."

그리고 셋도 아들을 낳아 그 이름을 에노스라고 불렀다. 그때부터 사람들은 처음으로 여호와의 이름을 부르기 시작하였다.

To Seth, to him also a son was born; and he called his name Enosh Then men began to call upon the name of the LORD.

	화염검(火焰劍, 3:24) 자체적으로 회전하며 돌아가는 불칼로, 하나님의 위엄을 상징함

	창상(創傷, 4:23) 칼이나 도끼 등의 날이 있는 연장에 다친 상처
