- 예수님은 이 말씀을 마치시고 갈릴리를 떠나 요단강 건너편 유대 지방으로 가셨다.
- 그때 많은 군중이 따르므로 예수님은 거기서도 병자들을 고쳐 주셨다.
- 바리새파 사람들이 예수님을 시험하려고 와서 '구실만 있으면 남편이 아내를 버려도 좋습니까?' 하고 물었다.
- 그래서 예수님은 이렇게 대답하셨다. '너희는 사람을 창조하신 분이 처음에 남자와 여자를 만드시고
- 그러므로 남자가 부모를 떠나 자기 아내와 합하여 두 사람이 한 몸이 될 것이다 라고 하신 말씀을 읽지 못하였느냐?

- When Jesus had finished these words, He departed from Galilee and came into the region of Judea beyond the Jordan;
- and large crowds followed Him, and He healed them there.
- Some Pharisees came to Jesus, testing Him and asking, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any reason at all?"
- And He answered and said, "Have you not read that He who created them from the beginning MADE THEM MALE AND FEMALE,
- and said, 'FOR THIS REASON A MAN SHALL LEAVE HIS FATHER AND MOTHER AND BE JOINED TO HIS WIFE, AND THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH'?

- 그렇게 되면 두 몸이 아니라 한 몸이다. 그러므로 하나님께서 짝지어 주신 것을 사람이 나누지 못할 것이다.'
- 그렇다면 왜 모세는 '이혼 증서를 써 주고 아내와 이혼하라.' 고 했습니까?' 하고 그들이 묻자
- 예수님은 이렇게 대답하셨다. '그것은 너희가 고집이 세고 악하기 때문에 아내와 이혼하는 것을 허락한 것이지 처음부터 그랬던 것은 아니다.
- 그래서 내가 너희에게 말하지만 음행한 일도 없는데 자기 아내와 이혼하고 다른 여자와 결혼하는 사람은 간음죄를 짓는 것이다.'
- 제자들이 예수님께 '남편과 아내의 관계가 그런 것이라면 차라리 결혼하지 않는 것이 더 낫겠습니다.' 하자

- "So they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate."
- They said to Him, "Why then did Moses command to GIVE HER A CERTIFICATE OF DIVORCE AND SEND her AWAY?"
- He said to them, "Because of your hardness of heart Moses permitted you to divorce your wives; but from the beginning it has not been this way.
- "And I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery."
- The disciples said to Him, "If the relationship of the man with his wife is like this, it is better not to marry."

- 예수님이 그들에게 말씀하셨다. '모든 사람이 다 이 말대로 할 수는 없고 하나님이 허락하신 사람들만 그렇게 할 수 있다.
- 처음부터 결혼할 수 없는 몸으로 태어난 남자도 있고 불구자가 되어서 결혼할 수 없는 남자도 있으며 하늘 나라를 위해 스스로 결혼을 포기한 사람도 있다. 이 교훈을 받아들일 수 있는 사람은 받아들여라.'
- 그때 사람들이 손을 얹어 축복해 달라고 어린 아이들을 예수님께 데려왔으나 제자들이 그 사람들을 꾸짖었다.
- 그래서 예수님은 '어린 아이들이 나에게 오는 것을 막지 말아라. 하늘 나라는 이런 어린 아이와 같은 사람들의 것이다.' 하고 말씀하셨다.
- 그리고서 예수님은 어린 아이들의 머리 위에 손을 얹어 축복하시고 그 곳을 떠나셨다.

- But He said to them, "Not all men can accept this statement, but only those to whom it has been given.
- "For there are eunuchs who were born that way from their mother's womb; and there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men; and there are also eunuchs who made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. He who is able to accept this, let him accept it."
- Then some children were brought to Him so that He might lay His hands on them and pray; and the disciples rebuked them.
- But Jesus said, "Let the children alone, and do not hinder them from coming to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."
- After laying His hands on them, He departed from there.
