출애굽기 19:1-20:26

 시내 광야에서 하나님께서는 이스라엘 백성들과 언약을 맺기 위하여 모세를 통해 율법 이행에 관한 확약을 받고 성결을 요구하셨다. 그 후 하나님께서는 시내 산에 강림하셔서 모세에게 백성들이 지켜야 할 십계명을 주시고, 하나님의 강림을 두려워하는 백성들에게 번제와 화목제를 드릴 것을 명하셨다.
  
  시내 산 언약 체결 준비(19:1-19:25)    
 
  1. 이스라엘 백성은 이집트를 떠난 후 3월 1일에 시나이 광야에 이르렀다.
  2. 그들은 르비딤을 떠나 시나이 광야로 들어가서 시내산 앞에 천막을 쳤다.
  3. 모세가 여호와를 만나려고 산으로 올라가자 여호와께서 산에서 그를 불러 말씀하셨다. '너는 야곱의 후손인 이스라엘 백성에게 나 여호와가 이렇게 말한다고 일러 주어라.
  4. 너희는 내가 이집트 사람에게 행한 일을 보았고 또 독수리가 날개로 자기 새끼를 보호하듯이 내가 너희를 보호하여 나에게 인도한 것을 다 보았다.
  5. 만일 너희가 내 말을 잘 듣고 내 계약을 지키면 너희가 모든 민족 가운데서 나의 소중한 백성이 될 것이다. 온 세상이 다 내 것이지만
  1. In the third month after the sons of Israel had gone out of the land of Egypt, on that very day they came into the wilderness of Sinai.
  2. When they set out from Rephidim, they came to the wilderness of Sinai and camped in the wilderness; and there Israel camped in front of the mountain.
  3. Moses went up to God, and the LORD called to him from the mountain, saying, "Thus you shall say to the house of Jacob and tell the sons of Israel:
  4. 'You yourselves have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles' wings, and brought you to Myself.
  5. 'Now then, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be My own possession among all the peoples, for all the earth is Mine;
  1. 너희는 특별히 나에게 제사장 나라가 되고 거룩한 백성이 될 것이다.'
  2. 그래서 모세는 내려와서 백성의 장로들을 불러 여호와께서 자기에게 명령하신 모든 것을 그들에게 말해 주었다.
  3. 그러자 모든 백성들이 '여호와께서 명령하신 것을 우리가 다 행하겠습니다.' 하고 일제히 대답하였다. 모세가 백성들의 대답을 여호와께 보고하자
  4. 여호와께서 그에게 말씀하셨다. '내가 빽빽한 구름 가운데서 너에게 나타나 백성들이 내가 너와 말하는 소리를 듣고 항상 너를 믿도록 하겠다.' 모세가 백성들의 말을 여호와께 보고했을 때
  5. 여호와께서 그에게 말씀하셨다. '너는 백성들에게 가서 오늘과 내일 그들을 성결하게 하라 그들은 각자 옷을 빨고
  1. and you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.' These are the words that you shall speak to the sons of Israel."
  2. So Moses came and called the elders of the people, and set before them all these words which the LORD had commanded him.
  3. All the people answered together and said, "All that the LORD has spoken we will do!" And Moses brought back the words of the people to the LORD.
  4. The LORD said to Moses, "Behold, I will come to you in a thick cloud, so that the people may hear when I speak with you and may also believe in you forever." Then Moses told the words of the people to the LORD.
  5. The LORD also said to Moses, "Go to the people and consecrate them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their garments;
  1. 3일째 되는 날을 위해 준비해야 한다. 내가 그 날에 모든 백성들이 보는 가운데서 시내산에 내려오겠다.
  2. 너는 산 사방에 경계선을 정하고 그들에게 산에 오르거나 경계선에 가까이 가지 않도록 조심하라고 경고하라. 누구든지 산에 발을 들여놓는 자는 죽임을 당할 것이다.
  3. 손 하나 대지 않아도 그런 자는 돌이나 화살에 맞아 죽을 것이니 짐승이든 사람이든 살아 남지 못할 것이다. 그러나 나팔을 길게 불면 백성들은 산기슭에 모여야 한다'
  4. 그래서 모세는 산에서 내려와 백성들을 성결하게 하였고 그들은 자기들의 옷을 빨았다.
  5. 그리고 모세는 백성들에게 3일째 되는 날을 위해 준비하고 여자를 가까이하지 말라고 하였다.
  1. and let them be ready for the third day, for on the third day the LORD will come down on Mount Sinai in the sight of all the people.
  2. "You shall set bounds for the people all around, saying, 'Beware that you do not go up on the mountain or touch the border of it; whoever touches the mountain shall surely be put to death.
  3. 'No hand shall touch him, but he shall surely be stoned or shot through; whether beast or man, he shall not live ' When the ram's horn sounds a long blast, they shall come up to the mountain."
  4. So Moses went down from the mountain to the people and consecrated the people, and they washed their garments.
  5. He said to the people, "Be ready for the third day; do not go near a woman."
  1. 3일째 되는 날 아침에 천둥 소리가 나고 번개가 치며 빽빽한 구름이 산을 뒤덮은 가운데 큰 나팔 소리가 들려오자 야영지에 있는 백성들이 모두 두려워 떨었다.
  2. 모세는 하나님을 만나려고 백성들을 야영지 밖으로 이끌고 나와서 그들을 모두 산기슭에 세웠다.
  3. 그때 시내산에 연기가 자욱하였는데 이것은 여호와께서 불 가운데 그 곳으로 내려오셨기 때문이었다. 그 연기가 공장 굴뚝 연기처럼 솟아오르고 온 산이 크게 진동하며
  4. 나팔 소리가 점점 더 크게 울려퍼질 때 모세가 말하자 하나님이 뇌성으로 그에게 대답하셨다.
  5. 여호와께서 시내산 꼭대기에 내려오셔서 모세를 부르시므로 모세가 그리로 올라갔다.
  1. So it came about on the third day, when it was morning, that there were thunder and lightning flashes and a thick cloud upon the mountain and a very loud trumpet sound, so that all the people who were in the camp trembled.
  2. And Moses brought the people out of the camp to meet God, and they stood at the foot of the mountain.
  3. Now Mount Sinai was all in smoke because the LORD descended upon it in fire; and its smoke ascended like the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mountain quaked violently.
  4. When the sound of the trumpet grew louder and louder, Moses spoke and God answered him with thunder.
  5. The LORD came down on Mount Sinai, to the top of the mountain; and the LORD called Moses to the top of the mountain, and Moses went up.
  1. 그때 여호와께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다. '너는 내려가서 백성들에게 나를 보려고 경계선을 뚫고 들어오지 말라고 경고하여라. 그러다가는 많은 사람이 죽게 될 것이다.
  2. 나를 가까이하는 제사장들도 자신을 성결하게 해야 한다. 그렇지 않으면 내가 그들을 죽일 것이다.'
  3. 모세가 여호와께 '주께서 우리에게 산 사방에 경계선을 정하여 거룩하게 구별하라고 명령하셨으므로 백성들이 시내산에 오를 수 없습니다.' 하자
  4. 여호와께서 이렇게 대답하셨다. '너는 내려가서 아론을 데리고 올라오너라. 그러나 제사장들과 백성들은 경계선을 넘어 나에게 올라오지 못하게 하라. 그렇지 않으면 내가 그들을 죽일 것이다.'
  5. 그래서 모세는 백성들에게 내려가서 그대로 말하였다.
  1. Then the LORD spoke to Moses, "Go down, warn the people, so that they do not break through to the LORD to gaze, and many of them perish.
  2. "Also let the priests who come near to the LORD consecrate themselves, or else the LORD will break out against them."
  3. Moses said to the LORD, "The people cannot come up to Mount Sinai, for You warned us, saying, 'Set bounds about the mountain and consecrate it.'"
  4. Then the LORD said to him, "Go down and come up again, you and Aaron with you; but do not let the priests and the people break through to come up to the LORD, or He will break forth upon them."
  5. So Moses went down to the people and told them.
 
  십계명(20:1-20:26)    
 
  1. 그 후 하나님이 이렇게 말씀하셨다.
  2. '나는 종살이하던 너희를 이집트에서 인도해 낸 너희 하나님 여호와이다.
  3. 너희는 나 외에 다른 신을 섬기지 말아라.
  4. 너희는 하늘이나 땅이나 땅 아래 물 속에 있는 어떤 것의 모양을 본떠서 우상을 만들지 말며
  5. 그것에 절하거나 그것을 섬기지 말아라. 나 여호와 너희 하나님은 질투하는 하나님이다. 그래서 내가 나를 미워하는 자를 벌하고 그의 죄에 대하여 그 자손 삼사 대까지 저주를 내리겠다.
  1. Then God spoke all these words, saying,
  2. "I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.
  3. "You shall have no other gods before Me.
  4. "You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth.
  5. "You shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and the fourth generations of those who hate Me,
  1. 그러나 나를 사랑하고 내 계명을 지키는 자에게는 그 자손 수천 대까지 사랑을 베풀 것이다.
  2. 너희는 너희 하나님 나 여호와의 이름을 함부로 사용하지 말아라. 나 여호와는 내 이름을 함부로 사용하는 자를 그냥 두지 않을 것이다.
  3. 너희는 안식일을 기억하여 그 날을 거룩하게 지켜라.
  4. 6일 동안은 열심히 일하고
  5. 7일째 되는 날은 너희 하나님 여호와의 안식일이므로 그 날에는 아무 일도 하지 말아라. 너희나 너희 자녀들이나 너희 종이나 너희 가축이나 너희 가운데 사는 외국인도 일을 해서는 안 된다.
  1. but showing lovingkindness to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.
  2. "You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not leave him unpunished who takes His name in vain.
  3. "Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
  4. "Six days you shall labor and do all your work,
  5. but the seventh day is a sabbath of the LORD your God; in it you shall not do any work, you or your son or your daughter, your male or your female servant or your cattle or your sojourner who stays with you.
  1. 나 여호와는 6일 동안 하늘과 땅과 바다와 그 가운데 있는 모든 것을 만들고 7일째 되는 날에는 쉬었다. 그러므로 내가 안식일을 축복하고 그 날을 거룩하게 하였다.
  2. 너희 부모를 공경하라. 그러면 너희 하나님 나 여호와가 너희에게 줄 땅에서 너희가 오래오래 살 것이다.
  3. 살인하지 말아라.
  4. 간음하지 말아라.
  5. 도둑질하지 말아라.
  1. "For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day; therefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day and made it holy.
  2. "Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be prolonged in the land which the LORD your God gives you.
  3. "You shall not murder.
  4. "You shall not commit adultery.
  5. "You shall not steal.
  1. 너희 이웃에 대하여 거짓 증언하지 말아라.
  2. 너희 이웃집을 탐내지 말아라. 너희 이웃의 아내나 종이나 소나 나귀나 너희 이웃이 소유한 그 어떤 것도 탐을 내서는 안 된다.'
  3. 백성들은 우뢰와 나팔 소리를 듣고 번개와 산의 연기를 보면서 떨며, 멀리 서서
  4. 모세에게 말하였다. '당신이 우리에게 말씀하시면 우리가 듣겠습니다. 하나님이 우리에게 직접 말씀하시지 않도록 해 주십시오. 그렇지 않으면 우리가 죽게 될 것입니다.'
  5. 그러자 모세는 백성들에게 '두려워하지 마십시오. 하나님이 내려오신 것은 여러분을 시험하여 하나님을 두려워하게 함으로써 여러분이 범죄하지 않도록 하기 위해서입니다.' 하고 대답하였다.
  1. "You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
  2. "You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife or his male servant or his female servant or his ox or his donkey or anything that belongs to your neighbor."
  3. All the people perceived the thunder and the lightning flashes and the sound of the trumpet and the mountain smoking; and when the people saw it, they trembled and stood at a distance.
  4. Then they said to Moses, "Speak to us yourself and we will listen; but let not God speak to us, or we will die."
  5. Moses said to the people, "Do not be afraid; for God has come in order to test you, and in order that the fear of Him may remain with you, so that you may not sin."
  1. 그러나 백성들은 계속 멀리 서 있었으며 모세는 하나님이 계시는 짙은 구름으로 가까이 접근하였다.
  2. 그때 여호와께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다. '너는 이스라엘 백성에게 내가 이렇게 말한다고 일러 주어라. 너희는 내가 하늘에서 너희에게 말하는 것을 직접 다 보았다.
  3. 너희는 나와 견주기 위해서 은이나 금으로 신상을 만들지 말아라.
  4. 너희는 나를 위해 흙으로 단을 쌓고 그 위에 양과 소로 번제와 화목제를 드려라. 너희가 나를 섬기도록 내가 지정하는 곳마다 내가 가서 너희를 축복해 주겠다.
  5. 너희가 나를 위해 돌로 단을 쌓으려거든 다듬은 돌로 쌓지 말아라. 연장을 사용하게 되면 그 단이 더럽혀진다.
  1. So the people stood at a distance, while Moses approached the thick cloud where God was.
  2. Then the LORD said to Moses, "Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, 'You yourselves have seen that I have spoken to you from heaven.
  3. 'You shall not make other gods besides Me; gods of silver or gods of gold, you shall not make for yourselves.
  4. 'You shall make an altar of earth for Me, and you shall sacrifice on it your burnt offerings and your peace offerings, your sheep and your oxen; in every place where I cause My name to be remembered, I will come to you and bless you.
  5. 'If you make an altar of stone for Me, you shall not build it of cut stones, for if you wield your tool on it, you will profane it.
  1. 너희는 층계로 내 단에 오르지 말아라. 만일 너희가 그렇게 하면 너희 하체가 드러날 것이다.'
  1. 'And you shall not go up by steps to My altar, so that your nakedness will not be exposed on it.'
