- (고라 자손의 교훈시. 성가대 지휘자를 따라 부른 노래) 하나님이시여, 사슴이 시냇물을 갈망하듯이 내 영혼이 주를 갈망합니다.
- 내 영혼이 살아 계신 하나님을 애타게 그리워하는데 내가 언제나 나아가서 하나님을 뵐 수 있을까?
- 내가 밤낮 부르짖어 눈물이 내 음식이 되었으나 사람들은 '네 하나님이 어디 있느냐?' 하고 종일 나를 비웃는구나.
- 내가 전에 기쁨의 찬송을 부르며 명절을 지키러 가는 군중들을 하나님의 집으로 곧잘 인도했는데 내가 지난 일을 생각하니 마음이 상하는구나.
- 내 영혼아, 어째서 네가 낙심하며 내 속에서 불안해 하는가? 너는 네 희망을 하나님께 두어라. 나는 내 구원이 되시는 하나님을 찬양하리라.

- As the deer pants for the water brooks, So my soul pants for You, O God.
- My soul thirsts for God, for the living God; When shall I come and appear before God?
- My tears have been my food day and night, While they say to me all day long, "Where is your God?"
- These things I remember and I pour out my soul within me For I used to go along with the throng and lead them in procession to the house of God, With the voice of joy and thanksgiving, a multitude keeping festival.
- Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why have you become disturbed within me? Hope in God, for I shall again praise Him For the help of His presence.
