신명기 12:29-14:29

 모세는 우상 숭배에 대해 거듭 경고하며 거짓 선지자와 가족, 친구들의 우상 숭배 유혹에 빠지지 말 것과 우상을 숭배하는 성읍을 멸할 것을 명령했다. 그리고 거룩한 백성이 먹을 수 있는 것과 먹을 수 없는 것을 규정하여 성결한 삶을 살 것과 십일조를 드릴 것을 교훈했다. 아울러 그들과 더불어 사는 레위인과 객과 고아와 과부들을 돌아볼 것을 권면했다.
  
  우상 숭배 금지(12:29-13:18)    
 
  1. 여러분의 하나님 여호와께서는 여러분이 들어가서 쫓아낼 민족들을 여러분 앞에서 멸망시키실 것입니다. 여러분이 그들을 쫓아내고 거기서 살게 될 때
  2. 여러분은 그들의 종교적인 관습을 따르지 말고 그들의 신을 섬기는 방법을 배워 그대로 하는 일이 없도록 하십시오. 그것이 여러분에게 덫이 될 것입니다.
  3. 여러분은 그들이 신을 섬기는 방법으로 여러분의 하나님 여호와를 섬겨서는 안 됩니다. 그들은 신을 섬길 때 여호와께서 싫어하시는 온갖 짓을 다하며 심지어는 그들의 자녀를 신들에게 산제물로 바쳐 불에 태워 죽이기까지 합니다.
  4. 여러분은 내가 여러분에게 명령하는 이 모든 것을 그대로 지키고 조금이라도 더하거나 빼지 마십시오.'
  1. "When the LORD your God cuts off before you the nations which you are going in to dispossess, and you dispossess them and dwell in their land,
  2. beware that you are not ensnared to follow them, after they are destroyed before you, and that you do not inquire after their gods, saying, 'How do these nations serve their gods, that I also may do likewise?'
  3. "You shall not behave thus toward the LORD your God, for every abominable act which the LORD hates they have done for their gods; for they even burn their sons and daughters in the fire to their gods.
  4. "Whatever I command you, you shall be careful to do; you shall not add to nor take away from it.
 
 
  1. '여러분 가운데 예언자나 꿈으로 미래를 점치는 자가 나타나서 기적적인 일이 일어날 것을 예언하며 여러분이 알지 못하는 다른 신을 섬기자고 유혹할지도 모릅니다. 만일 그 예언이 그대로 이루어져도
  2. (1절과 같음)
  3. 여러분은 그들의 말을 듣지 마십시오. 여러분의 하나님 여호와께서는 그런 자들을 통하여 여러분이 마음을 다하고 정성을 다하여 정말 여러분의 하나님 여호와를 사랑하는지 알아보려고 여러분을 시험하십니다.
  4. 여러분은 여러분의 하나님 여호와만을 따르며 그분을 두려운 마음으로 섬기고 그 명령을 지키며 그분에게 순종하고 충성하십시오.
  5. 그리고 이집트에서 종살이하던 여러분을 구출해 내신 여러분의 하나님 여호와를 거역하도록 유혹하는 예언자나 꿈으로 점치는 자를 죽이십시오. 그들은 여러분을 여호와의 명령대로 살지 못하도록 유혹하는 자들입니다. 그러므로 여러분은 그런 악한 자들을 여러분 가운데서 제거해야 합니다.
  1. "If a prophet or a dreamer of dreams arises among you and gives you a sign or a wonder,
  2. and the sign or the wonder comes true, concerning which he spoke to you, saying, 'Let us go after other gods (whom you have not known) and let us serve them,'
  3. you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams; for the LORD your God is testing you to find out if you love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.
  4. "You shall follow the LORD your God and fear Him; and you shall keep His commandments, listen to His voice, serve Him, and cling to Him.
  5. "But that prophet or that dreamer of dreams shall be put to death, because he has counseled rebellion against the LORD your God who brought you from the land of Egypt and redeemed you from the house of slavery, to seduce you from the way in which the LORD your God commanded you to walk So you shall purge the evil from among you.
  1. 여러분의 형제나 자녀나 사랑하는 아내나 여러분의 가장 친한 친구가 여러분과 여러분의 조상들이 알지 못하는 이방 민족의 신들을 섬기자고 은근히 유혹하여도
  2. (6절과 같음)
  3. 여러분은 그 꼬임에 넘어가지 말고 그들의 말을 듣지도 말며 정에 끌려서 불쌍히 여기거나 그들을 감싸지 마십시오.
  4. 여러분은 그런 자를 사정없이 죽여야 합니다. 죽일 때는 그런 유혹을 받은 사람이 먼저 손을 대고 그 다음에 모든 군중이 손을 대도록 하십시오.
  5. 그들은 이집트에서 종살이하던 여러분을 구출해 내신 여러분의 하나님 여호와를 떠나도록 여러분을 유혹한 자들입니다. 그러므로 여러분은 그들을 돌로 쳐 죽여야 합니다.
  1. "If your brother, your mother's son, or your son or daughter, or the wife you cherish, or your friend who is as your own soul, entice you secretly, saying, 'Let us go and serve other gods' (whom neither you nor your fathers have known,
  2. of the gods of the peoples who are around you, near you or far from you, from one end of the earth to the other end),
  3. you shall not yield to him or listen to him; and your eye shall not pity him, nor shall you spare or conceal him.
  4. "But you shall surely kill him; your hand shall be first against him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people.
  5. "So you shall stone him to death because he has sought to seduce you from the LORD your God who brought you out from the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.
  1. 그러면 모든 이스라엘 사람이 그 일을 듣고 두려워하여 다시는 그런 악한 짓을 하는 자가 없을 것입니다.
  2. 여러분의 하나님 여호와께서 여러분에게 주신 성에서 여러분이 살게 될 때
  3. 여러분 가운데 못된 사람들이 일어나 여러분이 알지 못하는 다른 신들을 섬기자고 유혹할지도 모릅니다.
  4. 만일 여러분이 그런 소문을 듣게 되거든 철저히 조사해 보고 그들이 살고 있는 성 주민들이 그 유혹에 빠져 다른 신을 섬긴 사실이 밝혀지면
  5. 여러분은 그 성의 주민들과 가축을 모조리 죽여 버리십시오.
  1. "Then all Israel will hear and be afraid, and will never again do such a wicked thing among you.
  2. "If you hear in one of your cities, which the LORD your God is giving you to live in, anyone saying that
  3. some worthless men have gone out from among you and have seduced the inhabitants of their city, saying, 'Let us go and serve other gods' (whom you have not known),
  4. then you shall investigate and search out and inquire thoroughly. If it is true and the matter established that this abomination has been done among you,
  5. you shall surely strike the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, utterly destroying it and all that is in it and its cattle with the edge of the sword.
  1. 그리고 여러분은 그들의 모든 소유물을 끄집어내어 광장에 모아놓고 불태우고 그 성에도 불을 질러 그 모든 것을 여호와께 드리는 번제처럼 완전히 태워 버리십시오. 그래서 그 성이 영원히 폐허가 되어 다시는 재건되지 못하게 해야 합니다.
  2. 여러분은 저주받은 그들의 물건에 손도 대지 마십시오. 그러면 여호와께서 노여움을 거두시고 여러분에게 자비를 베푸셔서 여러분의 조상들에게 약속하신 대로 여러분을 큰 민족이 되게 하실 것입니다.
  3. 만일 여러분이 여러분의 하나님 여호와께 순종하고 오늘 내가 여러분에게 전하는 모든 명령을 지키며 여호와께서 보시기에 옳은 일을 행하면 여러분이 정말 그렇게 될 것입니다.'
  1. "Then you shall gather all its booty into the middle of its open square and burn the city and all its booty with fire as a whole burnt offering to the LORD your God; and it shall be a ruin forever. It shall never be rebuilt.
  2. "Nothing from that which is put under the ban shall cling to your hand, in order that the LORD may turn from His burning anger and show mercy to you, and have compassion on you and make you increase, just as He has sworn to your fathers,
  3. if you will listen to the voice of the LORD your God, keeping all His commandments which I am commanding you today, and doing what is right in the sight of the LORD your God.
 
  정한 것과 부정한 것(14:1-14:29)    
 
  1. '여러분은 여러분의 하나님 여호와의 백성입니다. 그러므로 죽은 사람을 애도할 때 이방인들처럼 살을 베거나 이마의 털을 밀지 마십시오.
  2. 여러분은 여러분의 하나님 여호와의 거룩한 백성입니다. 여호와께서는 세상의 모든 민족 중에서 여러분을 택하여 자기 백성으로 삼으셨습니다.
  3. 여러분은 부정한 것으로 선언된 것은 무엇이든지 먹지 마십시오. 여러분이 먹을 수 있는 짐승은 소와 양과 염소와 사슴과 영양과 노루와 산염소와 산양입니다.

  1. "You are the sons of the LORD your God; you shall not cut yourselves nor shave your forehead for the sake of the dead.
  2. "For you are a holy people to the LORD your God, and the LORD has chosen you to be a people for His own possession out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth.
  3. "You shall not eat any detestable thing.
  4. "These are the animals which you may eat: the ox, the sheep, the goat,
  5. the deer, the gazelle, the roebuck, the wild goat, the ibex, the antelope and the mountain sheep.
  1. 이와 같이 굽이 갈라지고 새김질하는 짐승은 어느 것이든지 여러분이 먹을 수 있습니다.
  2. 그러나 굽만 갈라졌거나 새김질만 하는 짐승을 먹어서는 안 됩니다. 낙타와 토끼와 오소리는 먹지 마십시오. 이런 짐승은 새김질은 하지만 굽이 갈라지지 않았으므로 여러분에게 부정합니다.
  3. 그리고 돼지는 굽은 갈라졌으나 새김질은 못하므로 이것도 역시 부정합니다. 여러분은 이런 종류의 짐승을 먹지 말고 그 사체도 만지지 마십시오.
  4. 물고기 중에서는 지느러미와 비늘이 있는 것만 먹고
  5. 지느러미와 비늘이 없는 것은 먹지 마십시오. 그런 것은 여러분에게 다 부정합니다.
  1. "Any animal that divides the hoof and has the hoof split in two and chews the cud, among the animals, that you may eat.
  2. "Nevertheless, you are not to eat of these among those which chew the cud, or among those that divide the hoof in two: the camel and the rabbit and the shaphan, for though they chew the cud, they do not divide the hoof; they are unclean for you.
  3. "The pig, because it divides the hoof but does not chew the cud, it is unclean for you. You shall not eat any of their flesh nor touch their carcasses.
  4. "These you may eat of all that are in water: anything that has fins and scales you may eat,
  5. but anything that does not have fins and scales you shall not eat; it is unclean for you.
  1. 새도 깨끗한 것은 여러분이 먹을 수 있습니다.
  2. 그러나 여러분이 먹을 수 없는 새는 독수리, 솔개, 물수리, 말똥가리, 매 종류와 까마귀 종류, 타조, 쏙독새, 갈매기, 새매 종류, 올빼미, 부엉이, 따오기, 사다새, 왜가리, 가마우지, 학, 황새 종류, 오디새, 박쥐입니다.

  2. "But these are the ones which you shall not eat: the eagle and the vulture and the buzzard,

  2. the pelican, the carrion vulture, the cormorant,
  3. the stork, and the heron in their kinds, and the hoopoe and the bat.
  4. "And all the teeming life with wings are unclean to you; they shall not be eaten.
  5. "You may eat any clean bird.
  1. 여러분은 여러분의 하나님 여호와의 거룩한 백성입니다. 그러므로 여러분은 무엇이든지 저절로 죽은 것을 먹지 마십시오. 그러나 여러분은 그것을 여러분 가운데 사는 이방인에게 주어 먹게 하거나 외국인에게 팔 수는 있습니다. 그리고 여러분은 염소 새끼를 그 어미의 젖에 넣고 삶지 마십시오.

  4. 그러나 그 예배처가 여러분이 있는 곳에서 너무 멀리 떨어져 있어서 여호와의 축복으로 얻은 여러분의 풍성한 농산물의 십일조를 그 곳까지 가지고 갈 수 없으면
  5. 그것을 팔아 그 돈을 가지고 가서
  1. "You shall not eat anything which dies of itself You may give it to the alien who is in your town, so that he may eat it, or you may sell it to a foreigner, for you are a holy people to the LORD your God You shall not boil a young goat in its mother's milk.
  2. "You shall surely tithe all the produce from what you sow, which comes out of the field every year.
  3. "You shall eat in the presence of the LORD your God, at the place where He chooses to establish His name, the tithe of your grain, your new wine, your oil, and the firstborn of your herd and your flock, so that you may learn to fear the LORD your God always.
  4. "If the distance is so great for you that you are not able to bring the tithe, since the place where the LORD your God chooses to set His name is too far away from you when the LORD your God blesses you,
  5. then you shall exchange it for money, and bind the money in your hand and go to the place which the LORD your God chooses.
  1. 여러분이 원하는 대로 소나 양이나 포도주나 독주를 사서 여러분의 하나님 여호와 앞에서 여러분과 여러분의 가족이 함께 먹고 즐거워하십시오.
  2. 여러분의 성에 사는 레위인들은 여러분과 같이 땅을 분배받지 않았습니다. 그러므로 여러분은 그들을 보살피는데 소홀히 해서는 안 됩니다.
  3. 여러분은 3년마다 그 해 연말에 여러분의 모든 농산물의 십일조를 여러분의 성에 저장해 놓고
  4. 분배받은 땅이 없는 레위인과 여러분의 성에 사는 외국인과 고아와 과부들이 와서 필요한 대로 가져가서 먹게 하십시오. 그러면 여러분의 하나님 여호와께서 여러분이 하는 모든 일에 복을 주실 것입니다.'
  1. "You may spend the money for whatever your heart desires: for oxen, or sheep, or wine, or strong drink, or whatever your heart desires; and there you shall eat in the presence of the LORD your God and rejoice, you and your household.
  2. "Also you shall not neglect the Levite who is in your town, for he has no portion or inheritance among you.
  3. "At the end of every third year you shall bring out all the tithe of your produce in that year, and shall deposit it in your town.
  4. "The Levite, because he has no portion or inheritance among you, and the alien, the orphan and the widow who are in your town, shall come and eat and be satisfied, in order that the LORD your God may bless you in all the work of your hand which you do.
