신명기 24:1-26:11

 모세는 일상 생활과 관련된 여러 가지 율법들을 제시하면서, 특별히 가난한 자들에 대한 배려를 잊지 말 것을 권고했다. 그리고 범법자에 대한 처벌은 경중을 따져 적절히 시행할 것과, 상거래에 있어 정당한 저울 추를 사용할 것과, 아말렉을 도말할 것을 명령했다. 또한 가나안 정착 후 땅의 첫 소산물을 하나님께 드리며 신앙을 고백하라고 명했다.
  
  가정사에 대한 규례(24:1-24:22)    
 
  1. '어떤 남자가 어느 여자와 결혼하였는데 만일 그 여자에게 어떤 부정한 일이 발견되어 싫어지면 이혼증서를 써 주고 그녀를 그 집에서 내보내도록 하십시오.
  2. 만일 그 여자가 그 집을 떠나 다른 남자와 재혼한 후에
  3. 두 번째 남편도 그녀를 싫어하여 이혼증서를 써 주고 그녀를 내보내거나 또는 그 두번째 남편이 죽으면
  4. 그 여자는 더럽혀졌으므로 첫번째 남편이 그녀를 다시 아내로 맞아서는 안 됩니다. 이런 일은 여호와께서 보시기에 더러운 짓입니다. 여러분은 그런 죄로 여러분의 하나님 여호와께서 주시는 땅을 더럽히지 마십시오.
  5. 여러분은 이재 막 결혼한 사람을 군대에 징집하거나 특별한 임무를 맡기지 마십시오. 그가 자유롭게 일 년 동안 집에 있으면서 자기 아내와 행복하게 지내도록 해야 합니다.
  1. "When a man takes a wife and marries her, and it happens that she finds no favor in his eyes because he has found some indecency in her, and he writes her a certificate of divorce and puts it in her hand and sends her out from his house,
  2. and she leaves his house and goes and becomes another man's wife,
  3. and if the latter husband turns against her and writes her a certificate of divorce and puts it in her hand and sends her out of his house, or if the latter husband dies who took her to be his wife,
  4. then her former husband who sent her away is not allowed to take her again to be his wife, since she has been defiled; for that is an abomination before the LORD, and you shall not bring sin on the land which the LORD your God gives you as an inheritance.
  5. "When a man takes a new wife, he shall not go out with the army nor be charged with any duty; he shall be free at home one year and shall give happiness to his wife whom he has taken.
  1. 여러분은 맷돌을 담보로 잡지 마십시오. 이것은 생계를 유지해 가는 도구입니다.

  1. "No one shall take a handmill or an upper millstone in pledge, for he would be taking a life in pledge.
  2. "If a man is caught kidnapping any of his countrymen of the sons of Israel, and he deals with him violently or sells him, then that thief shall die; so you shall purge the evil from among you.
  3. "Be careful against an infection of leprosy, that you diligently observe and do according to all that the Levitical priests teach you; as I have commanded them, so you shall be careful to do.
  4. "Remember what the LORD your God did to Miriam on the way as you came out of Egypt.
  5. "When you make your neighbor a loan of any sort, you shall not enter his house to take his pledge.
  1. 그가 담보물을 가지고 밖에 나올 때까지 서서 기다리십시오.
  2. 만일 그 사람이 가난하여 그의 외투를 담보물로 주면 여러분은 그것을 밤새도록 보관하지 말고
  3. 해질 때에 되돌려 주십시오. 그러면 그가 그 옷을 입고 잠을 자면서 고맙게 여길 것이며 여러분의 하나님 여호와께서도 그 일을 선하게 여기실 것입니다.

  3. "When the sun goes down you shall surely return the pledge to him, that he may sleep in his cloak and bless you; and it will be righteousness for you before the LORD your God.
  4. "You shall not oppress a hired servant who is poor and needy, whether he is one of your countrymen or one of your aliens who is in your land in your towns.
  5. "You shall give him his wages on his day before the sun sets, for he is poor and sets his heart on it; so that he will not cry against you to the LORD and it become sin in you.
  1. 아버지가 자식의 죄로 죽임을 당해서는 안되며 자식이 아버지의 죄로 죽임을 당하는 일이 있어서도 안 됩니다. 사람은 각자 자기가 범한 죄에 대해서만 죽임을 당해야 합니다.
  2. 여러분은 외국인과 고아가 공정한 재판을 받지 못하는 일이 없도록 하십시오. 그리고 과부의 옷을 담보물로 잡아서는 안 됩니다.
  3. 여러분은 이집트에서 종살이하던 일과 여러분의 하나님 여호와께서 여러분을 구출하신 일을 항상 기억하십시오. 그래서 내가 여러분에게 이런 명령을 내리는 것입니다.
  4. 여러분이 추수할 때 미처 거두지 못한 곡식단이 생각나거든 그것을 가지러 가지 말고 외국인과 고아와 과부를 위해 거기 버려 두십시오. 그러면 여러분의 하나님 여호와께서 여러분이 하는 모든 일에 복을 주실 것입니다.
  5. 여러분이 감람나무에서 열매를 따낸 후에 남은 것은 고아와 외국인과 과부를 위해 버려두십시오.
  1. "Fathers shall not be put to death for their sons, nor shall sons be put to death for their fathers; everyone shall be put to death for his own sin.
  2. "You shall not pervert the justice due an alien or an orphan, nor take a widow's garment in pledge.
  3. "But you shall remember that you were a slave in Egypt, and that the LORD your God redeemed you from there; therefore I am commanding you to do this thing.
  4. "When you reap your harvest in your field and have forgotten a sheaf in the field, you shall not go back to get it; it shall be for the alien, for the orphan, and for the widow, in order that the LORD your God may bless you in all the work of your hands.
  5. "When you beat your olive tree, you shall not go over the boughs again; it shall be for the alien, for the orphan, and for the widow.
  1. 여러분은 포도원의 포도를 딸 때도 그렇게 해야 합니다.
  2. 여러분은 이집트에서 종살이하던 일을 기억하십시오. 그래서 내가 여러분에게 이런 명령을 내리는 것입니다.'
  1. "When you gather the grapes of your vineyard, you shall not go over it again; it shall be for the alien, for the orphan, and for the widow.
  2. "You shall remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt; therefore I am commanding you to do this thing.
 
  인간 관계에 대한 규례(25:1-25:19)    
 
  1. '만일 사람들이 시비 문제로 법정에 나오면 재판관은 옳고 그른 것을 판결하여 죄가 없는 사람은 놓아 주고 죄가 있는 사람은 형벌을 받게 해야 합니다.
  2. 만일 그 죄가 매질에 해당하면 재판관이 직접 보는 앞에서 그를 엎드리게 하고 죄의 정도에 따라 그를 때리게 해야 합니다.
  3. 그러나 40대 이상 때려서는 안 됩니다. 그 이상 때리게 되면 여러분의 동족이 대중 앞에서 모욕을 당하게 될 것입니다.
  4. 곡식을 밟아 떠는 소의 입에 망을 씌우지 마십시오.
  5. 만일 형제들이 함께 살다가 그 중 하나가 아들 없이 죽으면 그 미망인은 집을 나가 다른 사람과 재혼해서는 안 됩니다. 죽은 그 남편의 형제가 그 여자와 결혼하여 형제로서의 의무를 다해야 합니다.
  1. "If there is a dispute between men and they go to court, and the judges decide their case, and they justify the righteous and condemn the wicked,
  2. then it shall be if the wicked man deserves to be beaten, the judge shall then make him lie down and be beaten in his presence with the number of stripes according to his guilt.
  3. "He may beat him forty times but no more, so that he does not beat him with many more stripes than these and your brother is not degraded in your eyes.
  4. "You shall not muzzle the ox while he is threshing.
  5. "When brothers live together and one of them dies and has no son, the wife of the deceased shall not be married outside the family to a strange man. Her husband's brother shall go in to her and take her to himself as wife and perform the duty of a husband's brother to her.
  1. 그 여자가 낳은 첫아들이 죽은 형제의 대를 잇게 하여 그 이름이 이스라엘에서 끊어지지 않게 하십시오.
  2. 그러나 죽은 사람의 형제가 그 미망인과 결혼하기를 싫어하면 그 여자는 성의 지도자들에게 가서 '내 남편의 형제가 나와 결혼하기를 거절하며 자기 형제의 대를 잇게 하는 의무를 이행하지 않으려고 합니다.' 하고 말해야 합니다.
  3. 그러면 그 성의 지도자들이 그를 불러다가 설득해 보고 그래도 거절하면
  4. 그 미망인은 지도자들이 보는 앞에서 그 사람의 신 한 짝을 벗기고 그 얼굴에 침을 뱉으며 '이것은 자기 형제의 대를 잇게 하는 의무를 거절하는 자가 받는 수치이다.' 하고 말해야 합니다.
  5. 그러면 그 후부터 그의 집안이 '신발을 벗긴 자의 집'으로 알려지게 될 것입니다.
  1. "It shall be that the firstborn whom she bears shall assume the name of his dead brother, so that his name will not be blotted out from Israel.
  2. "But if the man does not desire to take his brother's wife, then his brother's wife shall go up to the gate to the elders and say, 'My husband's brother refuses to establish a name for his brother in Israel; he is not willing to perform the duty of a husband's brother to me.'
  3. "Then the elders of his city shall summon him and speak to him. And if he persists and says, 'I do not desire to take her,'
  4. then his brother's wife shall come to him in the sight of the elders, and pull his sandal off his foot and spit in his face; and she shall declare, 'Thus it is done to the man who does not build up his brother's house.'
  5. "In Israel his name shall be called, 'The house of him whose sandal is removed.'
  1. 만일 두 사람이 싸우고 있는데 한 사람의 아내가 자기 남편을 돕기 위해 다른 남자의 불알을 잡아당기면
  2. 여러분은 그 여자의 손을 사정없이 잘라 버리십시오.

  2. then you shall cut off her hand; you shall not show pity.
  3. "You shall not have in your bag differing weights, a large and a small.
  4. "You shall not have in your house differing measures, a large and a small.
  5. "You shall have a full and just weight; you shall have a full and just measure, that your days may be prolonged in the land which the LORD your God gives you.
  1. 여호와께서는 되와 저울을 속이는 사람을 미워하십니다.
  2. 여러분이 이집트에서 나올 때 아말렉 사람들이 여러분에게 행한 일을 기억하십시오.
  3. 그들이 하나님을 두려워하지 않고 길에서 여러분을 만났을 때 지치고 피곤하여 뒤에 처진 사람들을 모조리 쳐죽였습니다.
  4. 그러므로 여러분은 여호와 하나님이 주시는 약속의 땅에서 주변의 모든 원수들을 정복하고 평안을 누리게 될 때 아말렉 사람을 모조리 죽여 온 세상에서 그들의 이름을 기억하는 자가 없게 하십시오. 여러분은 이것을 절대로 잊지 말아야 합니다.'
  1. "For everyone who does these things, everyone who acts unjustly is an abomination to the LORD your God.
  2. "Remember what Amalek did to you along the way when you came out from Egypt,
  3. how he met you along the way and attacked among you all the stragglers at your rear when you were faint and weary; and he did not fear God.
  4. "Therefore it shall come about when the LORD your God has given you rest from all your surrounding enemies, in the land which the LORD your God gives you as an inheritance to possess, you shall blot out the memory of Amalek from under heaven; you must not forget.
 
  맏물을 바치는 신앙 고백(26:1-26:11)    
 
  1. '여러분은 여호와 하나님이 주시는 땅을 점령하여 그 곳에 살게 될 때
  2. 그 해 추수한 모든 농작물의 첫열매를 광주리에 담아 여러분의 하나님 여호와께서 예배처로 지정하신 곳으로 가지고 가
  3. 담당 제사장에게 주면서 '이것은 나의 하나님 여호와께서 우리 조상들에게 약속하신 땅에 내가 들어온 것을 인정하는 예물입니다.' 하고 말하십시오.
  4. 그러면 제사장은 그 광주리를 받아 여러분의 하나님 여호와의 제단 앞에 놓아야 하며
  5. 여러분은 여러분의 하나님 여호와 앞에서 이렇게 말해야 합니다. '내 조상은 떠돌아다니며 사는 아람 사람이었는데 그가 가족을 데리고 이집트로 내려갔습니다. 그들은 처음에 몇 사람밖에 되지 않았지만 후에 크고 강한 민족이 되었습니다.
  1. "Then it shall be, when you enter the land which the LORD your God gives you as an inheritance, and you possess it and live in it,
  2. that you shall take some of the first of all the produce of the ground which you bring in from your land that the LORD your God gives you, and you shall put it in a basket and go to the place where the LORD your God chooses to establish His name.
  3. "You shall go to the priest who is in office at that time and say to him, 'I declare this day to the LORD my God that I have entered the land which the LORD swore to our fathers to give us.'
  4. "Then the priest shall take the basket from your hand and set it down before the altar of the LORD your God.
  5. "You shall answer and say before the LORD your God, 'My father was a wandering Aramean, and he went down to Egypt and sojourned there, few in number; but there he became a great, mighty and populous nation.
  1. 그러나 이집트 사람들이 우리를 학대하고 강제 노동으로 우리를 혹사시키므로
  2. 우리가 조상들의 하나님 여호와께 부르짖었습니다. 그때 여호와께서는 우리의 부르짖음을 들으시고 우리가 당하는 고통과 시련을 보셨습니다.
  3. 그러므로 여호와께서 큰 능력과 놀라운 기적으로 우리를 이집트에서 구출하여
  4. 이 곳으로 인도해 내시고 기름지고 비옥한 이 땅을 우리에게 주셨습니다.
  5. 그래서 내가 여호와께서 주신 농작물의 첫열매를 가져왔습니다.' 그리고서 여러분은 그것을 여러분의 하나님 여호와 앞에 놓고 그분에게 경배하십시오.
  1. 'And the Egyptians treated us harshly and afflicted us, and imposed hard labor on us.
  2. 'Then we cried to the LORD, the God of our fathers, and the LORD heard our voice and saw our affliction and our toil and our oppression;
  3. and the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm and with great terror and with signs and wonders;
  4. and He has brought us to this place and has given us this land, a land flowing with milk and honey.
  5. 'Now behold, I have brought the first of the produce of the ground which You, O LORD have given me.' And you shall set it down before the LORD your God, and worship before the LORD your God;
  1. 그런 후에 여호와 하나님이 여러분과 여러분의 집에 주신 모든 좋은 것들에 대하여 여러분은 레위인과 여러분 가운데 사는 외국인과 함께 즐거워하십시오.
