사도행전 18:24-19:22

 3차 전도 여행을 시작한 바울은 마술과 우상이 가득한 에베소에서 성령 세례를 베풀고, 담대히 하나님 나라에 대해 강론하며, 마술사들을 회개시키는 등 성공적인 복음 사역을 하였다.
  
  에베소에서의 사역(18:24-19:22)    
 
  1. 알렉산드리아에서 태어난 아볼로라는 유대인이 에베소에 왔는데 그는 말 잘하는 성경 박사였다.
  2. 그는 일찍 주님의 말씀을 배워 열심히 전도하며 예수님에 관해 정확하게 가르쳤으나 요한의 세례만 알고 있을 뿐이었다.
  3. 그가 회당에서 담대하게 말하기 시작하자 브리스길라와 아굴라가 듣고 그를 집에 데려다가 하나님의 말씀을 더 정확하게 설명해 주었다.
  4. 아볼로가 아가야로 건너가려고하자 신자들은 그를 격려하고 그 곳 신자들에게도 편지를 써서 그를 영접해 주라고 하였다. 아볼로는 그 곳에 도착하여 하나님의 은혜로 믿게 된 사람들에게 큰 도움을 주었다.
  5. 이것은 그가 성경을 가지고 예수님이 그리스도라는 것을 증거하여 대중 앞에서 보기 좋게 유대인들의 말문을 막아 버렸기 때문이다.
  1. Now a Jew named Apollos, an Alexandrian by birth, an eloquent man, came to Ephesus; and he was mighty in the Scriptures.
  2. This man had been instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in spirit, he was speaking and teaching accurately the things concerning Jesus, being acquainted only with the baptism of John;
  3. and he began to speak out boldly in the synagogue. But when Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they took him aside and explained to him the way of God more accurately.
  4. And when he wanted to go across to Achaia, the brethren encouraged him and wrote to the disciples to welcome him; and when he had arrived, he greatly helped those who had believed through grace,
  5. for he powerfully refuted the Jews in public, demonstrating by the Scriptures that Jesus was the Christ.
 
 
  1. 아볼로가 고린도에 있는 동안 바울은 윗 지방을 거쳐 에베소에 왔다. 바울은 거기서 몇몇 신자들을 만나 물었다.
  2. '여러분은 믿을 때에 성령을 받았습니까?' '우리는 성령이 있다는 것도 듣지 못했습니다.'
  3. '그렇다면 여러분은 무슨 세례를 받았습니까?' '요한의 세례입니다.'
  4. '요한은 회개의 세례를 주면서 사람들에게 자기 뒤에 오시는 분을 믿으라고 했는데 그분이 곧 예수님이십니다.'
  5. 그들은 이 말을 듣고 주 예수님의 이름으로 세례를 받았다.
  1. It happened that while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul passed through the upper country and came to Ephesus, and found some disciples.
  2. He said to them, "Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?" And they said to him, "No, we have not even heard whether there is a Holy Spirit."
  3. And he said, "Into what then were you baptized?" And they said, "Into John's baptism."
  4. Paul said, "John baptized with the baptism of repentance, telling the people to believe in Him who was coming after him, that is, in Jesus."
  5. When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
  1. 바울이 그들에게 손을 얹자 성령이 내려 그들은 방언도 하고 예언도 했는데
  2. 모두 열 두 사람쯤 되었다.
  3. 바울은 회당에 들어가 석 달 동안 담대하게 하나님의 나라에 대하여 말하고 사람들과 토론하며 그들을 설득하였다.
  4. 그러나 어떤 사람들은 마음이 굳어 믿으려 하지 않고 오히려 공공연하게 바울의 가르침을 비난하였다. 그래서 바울은 신자들을 데리고 그들을 떠나 날마다 두란노 학원에서 가르쳤다.
  5. 이렇게 두 해를 계속하는 동안 아시아에 사는 유대인과 그리이스 사람들이 모두 주님의 말씀을 듣게 되었다.
  1. And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they began speaking with tongues and prophesying.
  2. There were in all about twelve men.
  3. And he entered the synagogue and continued speaking out boldly for three months, reasoning and persuading them about the kingdom of God.
  4. But when some were becoming hardened and disobedient, speaking evil of the Way before the people, he withdrew from them and took away the disciples, reasoning daily in the school of Tyrannus.
  5. This took place for two years, so that all who lived in Asia heard the word of the Lord, both Jews and Greeks.
  1. 하나님은 바울을 통해 희한한 기적들을 행하셨다.
  2. 심지어 바울이 사용하던 손수건이나 앞치마를 가져다가 병든 사람에게 대기만 해도 병이 낫고 악한 귀신들이 나갔다.
  3. 이때 몇몇 떠돌이 유대인 무당들도 주 예수님의 이름을 이용하여 귀신들을 쫓아내려고 하였다. 그들은 악한 귀신들에게 '바울이 전하는 예수의 이름으로 내가 너희에게 명령한다. 나오너라.' 하고 외쳤다.
  4. 유대인의 대제사장 스게와의 일곱 아들들이 이런 짓을 하였다.
  5. 그러자 악한 귀신이 '나는 예수님도 알고 바울도 아는데 도대체 너희는 누구냐?' 하고 대답하였다.
  1. God was performing extraordinary miracles by the hands of Paul,
  2. so that handkerchiefs or aprons were even carried from his body to the sick, and the diseases left them and the evil spirits went out.
  3. But also some of the Jewish exorcists, who went from place to place, attempted to name over those who had the evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, "I adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preaches."
  4. Seven sons of one Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, were doing this.
  5. And the evil spirit answered and said to them, "I recognize Jesus, and I know about Paul, but who are you?"
  1. 그리고서 귀신 들린 사람이 그들에게 달려들어 모두 때려 눕히자 그들은 상처를 입고 벗은 몸으로 그 집에서 도망쳐 나갔다.
  2. 에베소에 사는 유대인들과 그리이스 사람들이 이 소문을 듣고 모두 두려워하며 주 예수님의 이름을 높이 찬양하였다.
  3. 그리고 많은 신자들도 찾아와서 자기들이 행한 일을 공적으로 고백하였고
  4. 많은 마술사들도 그들의 마술책을 모아 가지고 와서 사람들이 보는 데서 불태웠는데 그 책값은 무려 50,000드라크마나 되었다.
  5. 이렇게 해서 주님의 말씀은 힘 있게 계속 퍼져나갔다.
  1. And the man, in whom was the evil spirit, leaped on them and subdued all of them and overpowered them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.
  2. This became known to all, both Jews and Greeks, who lived in Ephesus; and fear fell upon them all and the name of the Lord Jesus was being magnified.
  3. Many also of those who had believed kept coming, confessing and disclosing their practices.
  4. And many of those who practiced magic brought their books together and began burning them in the sight of everyone; and they counted up the price of them and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver.
  5. So the word of the Lord was growing mightily and prevailing.
  1. 그 후에 바울은 마케도니아와 아가야를 거쳐 예루살렘에 올라가기로 결심하고 '내가 거기 갔다가 후에 로마에도 가 봐야겠다.' 고 하였다.
  2. 바울은 자기를 돕는 사람 가운데 디모데와 에라스도 두 사람을 마케도니아로 보내고 그는 아시아에 얼마 동안 더 머물러 있었다.
  1. Now after these things were finished, Paul purposed in the Spirit to go to Jerusalem after he had passed through Macedonia and Achaia, saying, "After I have been there, I must also see Rome."
  2. And having sent into Macedonia two of those who ministered to him, Timothy and Erastus, he himself stayed in Asia for a while.
