역대하 13:1-15:19

 르호보암에 이어 왕위에 오른 유다 왕 아비야는 북이스라엘 여로보암과의 전투에서 전력상 열세에도 불구하고 대승을 거두었다. 유다의 3대 왕 아사는 우상을 파하고 성읍을 건축하는 등의 선정을 베풀므로써, 세라의 침입시 하나님의 도우심을 받아 승리할 수 있었다. 아사는 아사랴의 예언을 듣고 종교 개혁을 시행했으며, 이에 하나님께서는 왕국의 평안을 허락하셨다.
  
  아비야의 유다 통치(13:1-13:22)    
 
  1. 이스라엘의 여로보암왕 18년에 아비야가 유다 왕이 되어
  2. 예루살렘에서 3년을 통치하였다. 그리고 그의 어머니는 기브아 사람 우리엘의 딸 미가야였다. 한번은 유다와 이스라엘 사이에 전쟁이 있었다.
  3. 아비야는 40만 병력을 동원하고 여로보암은 80만 병력을 이끌고 출전하였다.
  4. 그들이 에브라임 산간 지대에서 맞섰을 때 아비야는 스마라임산으로 올라가 여로보암과 이스라엘군을 향해 외쳤다. '너희는 내 말을 들어라!
  5. 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와께서 이스라엘의 왕권을 다윗왕과 그 후손에게 영원히 주셨다는 것을 너희는 모르느냐?
  1. In the eighteenth year of King Jeroboam, Abijah became king over Judah.
  2. He reigned three years in Jerusalem; and his mother's name was Micaiah the daughter of Uriel of Gibeah. Now there was war between Abijah and Jeroboam.
  3. Abijah began the battle with an army of valiant warriors, 400,000 chosen men, while Jeroboam drew up in battle formation against him with 800,000 chosen men who were valiant warriors.
  4. Then Abijah stood on Mount Zemaraim, which is in the hill country of Ephraim, and said, "Listen to me, Jeroboam and all Israel:
  5. "Do you not know that the LORD God of Israel gave the rule over Israel forever to David and his sons by a covenant of salt?
  1. 너희 왕 여로보암은 우리 할아버지 솔로몬왕의 신하였음에도 불구하고 자기 주인을 배반하였다.
  2. 그 후에 너 여로보암은 건달패들을 모아 우리 아버지 르호보암왕을 대적했으나 그는 너무 어리고 마음이 약해 그것을 막아내지 못하였다.
  3. 너희는 다윗왕의 후손이 다스리는 여호와의 나라를 대적할 셈이냐? 너희 군대가 우리보다 두 배나 많지만 너희는 여로보암이 너희 신으로 만든 금송아지 때문에 이미 저주를 받았다.
  4. 너희는 여호와의 제사장들과 레위 사람들을 쫓아내고 이방 민족이 하듯이 너희 멋대로 제사장들을 세우지 않았느냐? 수송아지 한 마리와 수양 일곱 마리로 성직을 얻기 원하는 사람은 누구든지 우상에 불과한 너희 신들의 제사장이 될 수 있다.
  5. 그러나 우리는 여전히 우리 하나님 여호와를 섬기고 그분을 저버리지 않았다. 우리에게는 아론의 자손들만이 우리 제사장이 되고 레위 사람들만 그들을 도와
  1. "Yet Jeroboam the son of Nebat, the servant of Solomon the son of David, rose up and rebelled against his master,
  2. and worthless men gathered about him, scoundrels, who proved too strong for Rehoboam, the son of Solomon, when he was young and timid and could not hold his own against them.
  3. "So now you intend to resist the kingdom of the LORD through the sons of David, being a great multitude and having with you the golden calves which Jeroboam made for gods for you.
  4. "Have you not driven out the priests of the LORD, the sons of Aaron and the Levites, and made for yourselves priests like the peoples of other lands? Whoever comes to consecrate himself with a young bull and seven rams, even he may become a priest of what are no gods.
  5. "But as for us, the LORD is our God, and we have not forsaken Him; and the sons of Aaron are ministering to the LORD as priests, and the Levites attend to their work.
  1. 여호와께 아침저녁으로 제물을 드리고 분향하며 차림상에 거룩한 빵을 차리고 저녁마다 금등대에 불을 켜고 있다. 이와 같이 우리는 우리 하나님 여호와의 명령을 이행하고 있으나 너희는 그 분을 저버렸다.
  2. 그래서 하나님은 우리와 함께 계시고 우리의 지도자가 되셨다. 그분의 제사장들도 나팔을 가지고 우리와 함께 있는데 그들이 나팔을 불면 우리는 너희를 공격할 것이다. 이스라엘 사람들아, 너희 조상의 하나님 여호와를 대적하지 말아라. 너희가 싸워도 이기지 못할 것이다!'
  3. 한편 여로보암은 일부 병력을 몰래 유다 병력 후방으로 보내 거기서 매복하게 하였다. 유다 사람들은 앞뒤로 적에게 포위당한 것을 알고 도와 달라고 여호와께 부르짖고 제사장들은 나팔을 불었다.
  4. (13절과 같음)
  5. 유다 사람들이 함성을 지르자 하나님께서는 아비야왕과 유다 사람을 도와 여로보암왕과 이스라엘군을 무찌를 수 있게 하셨는데
  1. "Every morning and evening they burn to the LORD burnt offerings and fragrant incense, and the showbread is set on the clean table, and the golden lampstand with its lamps is ready to light every evening; for we keep the charge of the LORD our God, but you have forsaken Him.
  2. "Now behold, God is with us at our head and His priests with the signal trumpets to sound the alarm against you. O sons of Israel, do not fight against the LORD God of your fathers, for you will not succeed."
  3. But Jeroboam had set an ambush to come from the rear, so that Israel was in front of Judah and the ambush was behind them.
  4. When Judah turned around, behold, they were attacked both front and rear; so they cried to the LORD, and the priests blew the trumpets.
  5. Then the men of Judah raised a war cry, and when the men of Judah raised the war cry, then it was that God routed Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah.

  2. 그 전투에서 유다 사람들은 이스라엘의 정예병 50만 명을 죽였다.
  3. 이와 같이 그들 조상의 하나님 여호와를 의지했던 유다 사람들은 이스라엘을 쳐부수고 도주하는 여로보암의 군대를 추격하여 그들의 성인 벧엘, 여사나, 에브론, 그리고 이 성들의 주변 일대를 모두 점령하였다.

  5. 이스라엘의 여로보암왕은 아비야가 살아 있는 동안 다시 힘을 회복하지 못하고 있다가 여호와께서 치시자 죽고 말았다.
  1. When the sons of Israel fled before Judah, God gave them into their hand.
  2. Abijah and his people defeated them with a great slaughter, so that 500,000 chosen men of Israel fell slain.
  3. Thus the sons of Israel were subdued at that time, and the sons of Judah conquered because they trusted in the LORD, the God of their fathers.
  4. Abijah pursued Jeroboam and captured from him several cities, Bethel with its villages, Jeshanah with its villages and Ephron with its villages.
  5. Jeroboam did not again recover strength in the days of Abijah; and the LORD struck him and he died.
  1. 반면에 유다의 아비야왕은 아주 막강해졌다. 그는 14명의 아내를 거느리고 22명의 아들과 16명의 딸을 낳았다.
  2. 아비야가 행한 모든 일과 그가 한 말은 예언자 잇도가 쓴 유다의 역사책이 기록되어 있다.
  1. But Abijah became powerful; and took fourteen wives to himself, and became the father of twenty-two sons and sixteen daughters.
  2. Now the rest of the acts of Abijah, and his ways and his words are written in the treatise of the prophet Iddo.
 
  아사의 유다 통치(14:1-14:15)    
 
  1. 아비야왕은 죽어 다윗성에 장사되었고 그의 아들 아사가 왕위를 계승하였다. 그 후로 10년 동안은 그 땅이 평안을 누렸다.
  2. 이것은 아사가 옳고 선한 일을 하여 그의 하나님 여호와를 잘 섬겼기 때문이었다.
  3. 아사는 이방의 산당과 제단을 헐고 돌기둥의 우상을 파괴하며 아세라 여신상을 찍어 버렸다.
  4. 그는 또 유다 사람들에게 명령하여 그들 조상의 하나님 여호와를 찾고 그분의 법과 명령에 순종하게 하였다.
  5. 그리고 그는 유다의 모든 성에서 산당의 태양상과 향단을 없애 버렸다. 그래서 유다가 그의 통치하에서 평안을 누리게 되었다.
  1. So Abijah slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David, and his son Asa became king in his place. The land was undisturbed for ten years during his days.
  2. Asa did good and right in the sight of the LORD his God,
  3. for he removed the foreign altars and high places, tore down the sacred pillars, cut down the Asherim,
  4. and commanded Judah to seek the LORD God of their fathers and to observe the law and the commandment.
  5. He also removed the high places and the incense altars from all the cities of Judah. And the kingdom was undisturbed under him.
  1. 그리고 그 땅에는 여러 해 동안 전쟁이 없었으므로 아사는 이 기간에 유다의 성들을 요새화할 수 있었다.
  2. 아사는 유다 백성들에게 이렇게 말하였다. '우리가 성벽과 망대와 문과 빗장을 만들어 이 성들을 요새화하자. 우리가 우리 하나님 여호와를 찾았기 때문에 아직도 우리가 이 땅을 소유하고 있다. 우리가 그를 찾았으므로 그가 우리에게 사방으로 평안을 주셨다.' 그래서 그들은 요새 성 건축을 성공적으로 끝마쳤다.
  3. 아사왕의 군대는 큰 방패와 창으로 무장한 30만의 유다 병력과 작은 방패와 활로 무장한 28만의 베냐민 병력으로 구성되어 있었으며 이들은 모두 용감하고 잘 훈련된 군인들이었다.
  4. 이티오피아 사람 세라가 100만 명의 병력과 300대의 전차를 이끌고 유다를 침략하여 마레사까지 쳐들어왔다.
  5. 그러자 아사는 그들과 맞서 싸우기 위해 나가서 마레사 근처의 스바다 골짜기에 포진하고
  1. He built fortified cities in Judah, since the land was undisturbed, and there was no one at war with him during those years, because the LORD had given him rest.
  2. For he said to Judah, "Let us build these cities and surround them with walls and towers, gates and bars. The land is still ours because we have sought the LORD our God; we have sought Him, and He has given us rest on every side." So they built and prospered.
  3. Now Asa had an army of 300,000 from Judah, bearing large shields and spears, and 280,000 from Benjamin, bearing shields and wielding bows; all of them were valiant warriors.
  4. Now Zerah the Ethiopian came out against them with an army of a million men and 300 chariots, and he came to Mareshah.
  5. So Asa went out to meet him, and they drew up in battle formation in the valley of Zephathah at Mareshah.
  1. 그의 하나님 여호와께 이렇게 부르짖었다. '여호와여, 우리를 도울 자는 여호와밖에 없습니다. 우리가 지금 막강한 대군을 맞아 무력한 가운데 있습니다. 우리 하나님 여호와여, 우리를 도와 주소서. 우리가 주를 의지하여 주의 이름으로 이 대군을 치러 왔습니다. 여호와여, 주는 우리 하나님이십니다. 아무쪼록 사람이 주를 이기지 못하게 하소서.'
  2. 여호와께서 아사와 유다 사람 앞에서 이디오피아군을 치시자 그들은 도주하기 시작하였다.
  3. 그래서 유다군이 그랄까지 그들을 추격하며 치자 이디오피아군은 진멸하여 살아 남은 자가 없었다. 이렇게 하여 유다군은 여호와의 도움으로 그 전쟁에서 승리하고 수많은 물건을 노획하였다.
  4. 그리고 여호와께서 그랄 일대의 모든 성들을 두렵게 하였으므로 유다군은 그 성들을 쳐서 수많은 물건을 약탈하였으며
  5. 또 그 지방의 목장도 습격하여 많은 양과 낙타를 끌고 예루살렘으로 돌아왔다.
  1. Then Asa called to the LORD his God and said, "LORD, there is no one besides You to help in the battle between the powerful and those who have no strength; so help us, O LORD our God, for we trust in You, and in Your name have come against this multitude. O LORD, You are our God; let not man prevail against You."
  2. So the LORD routed the Ethiopians before Asa and before Judah, and the Ethiopians fled.
  3. Asa and the people who were with him pursued them as far as Gerar; and so many Ethiopians fell that they could not recover, for they were shattered before the LORD and before His army. And they carried away very much plunder.
  4. They destroyed all the cities around Gerar, for the dread of the LORD had fallen on them; and they despoiled all the cities, for there was much plunder in them.
  5. They also struck down those who owned livestock, and they carried away large numbers of sheep and camels. Then they returned to Jerusalem.
 
  아사랴의 훈계와 아사의 개혁(15:1-15:19)    
 
  1. 하나님의 성령께서 오뎃의 아들 아사랴를 감동시키시자
  2. 그는 개선하는 아사왕을 맞아 이렇게 말하였다. '아사왕과 유다와 베냐민 백성 여러분, 내 말을 들으십시오. 여러분이 여호와와 함께 있는 한 여호와께서도 여러분과 함께 하실 것입니다. 만일 여러분이 여호와를 찾으면 여러분은 그분을 만날 수 있을 것입니다. 그러나 여러분이 그 분을 버리면 여호와께서도 여러분을 버리실 것입니다.
  3. 이스라엘은 오랫동안 참 신도 없고 백성을 가르칠 제사장이나 율법도 없이 살아왔습니다.
  4. 그러나 그들이 어려움을 당하여 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와께 돌아가 그분을 찾았을 때 그들은 여호와를 만날 수 있었습니다.
  5. 그 당시에는 온 세상이 무질서하여 아무도 안전하게 다닐 수가 없었습니다.
  1. Now the Spirit of God came on Azariah the son of Oded,
  2. and he went out to meet Asa and said to him, "Listen to me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin: the LORD is with you when you are with Him And if you seek Him, He will let you find Him; but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you.
  3. "For many days Israel was without the true God and without a teaching priest and without law.
  4. "But in their distress they turned to the LORD God of Israel, and they sought Him, and He let them find Him.
  5. "In those times there was no peace to him who went out or to him who came in, for many disturbances afflicted all the inhabitants of the lands.
  1. 하나님이 여러 가지 환난으로 그들을 괴롭혔기 때문에 나라가 나라를, 도시가 도시를 서로 치고 싸우는 분쟁이 그칠 날이 없었습니다.
  2. 그러나 여러분은 용기를 잃지 말고 담대하게 선한 일을 하십시오. 그러면 여러분은 반드시 그 보상을 받게 될 것입니다.'
  3. 아사왕은 예언자 아사랴의 말을 듣고 용기를 얻어 유다와 베냐민 땅은 물론 에브라임 산간 지대에서 그가 빼앗은 모든 성에서 우상을 모조리 제거하고 성전 앞에 있는 여호와의 단을 수리하였다.
  4. 여호와 하나님이 아사왕과 함께 하시는 것을 보고 많은 이스라엘 사람들이 에브라임과 므낫세와 시므온 지역에서 유다 땅으로 이주해 왔다. 아사왕은 그 모든 이주민들과 유다와 베냐민 사람들을 한자리에 불러모았는데
  5. 그들은 아사왕 15년 3월에 예루살렘에 모여
  1. "Nation was crushed by nation, and city by city, for God troubled them with every kind of distress.
  2. "But you, be strong and do not lose courage, for there is reward for your work."
  3. Now when Asa heard these words and the prophecy which Azariah the son of Oded the prophet spoke, he took courage and removed the abominable idols from all the land of Judah and Benjamin and from the cities which he had captured in the hill country of Ephraim He then restored the altar of the LORD which was in front of the porch of the LORD.
  4. He gathered all Judah and Benjamin and those from Ephraim, Manasseh and Simeon who resided with them, for many defected to him from Israel when they saw that the LORD his God was with him.
  5. So they assembled at Jerusalem in the third month of the fifteenth year of Asa's reign.
  1. 자기들이 빼앗아 온 약탈물 중에서 소 700마리와 양 7,000마리로 여호와께 제사를 드렸다.
  2. 그런 다음 그들은 마음과 정성을 다하여 그들 조상의 하나님 여호와만을 섬기기로 서약하고
  3. 여호와를 섬기지 않는 자는 남자 여자 어른 아이 할 것 없이 모두 죽이기로 합의하였다.
  4. 그리고서 그들은 뿔피리와 나팔을 불면서 그 서약을 지키겠다고 큰 소리로 여호와께 맹세하였다.
  5. 모든 유다 사람들은 그들이 진심으로 이렇게 맹세하게 된 것을 기쁘게 생각하였다. 그들이 진지하게 하나님을 찾았기 때문에 하나님께서도 그들을 만나 주시고 그들 사방에 평안을 주셨다.
  1. They sacrificed to the LORD that day 700 oxen and 7,000 sheep from the spoil they had brought.
  2. They entered into the covenant to seek the LORD God of their fathers with all their heart and soul;
  3. and whoever would not seek the LORD God of Israel should be put to death, whether small or great, man or woman.
  4. Moreover, they made an oath to the LORD with a loud voice, with shouting, with trumpets and with horns.
  5. All Judah rejoiced concerning the oath, for they had sworn with their whole heart and had sought Him earnestly, and He let them find Him. So the LORD gave them rest on every side.
  1. 아사왕은 그의 할머니 마아가가 아세라 우상을 만들었을 때에도 그녀를 대왕 대비 자리에서 물러나게 하고 그 우상을 찍고 짓눌러 기드론 시냇가에서 불살라 버렸다.
  2. 아사는 비록 그 땅에서 산당을 제거하지는 않았지만 일평생 여호와께 성실하였으며
  3. 자기와 자기 아버지가 구별하여 여호와께 드린 금은 제품을 모두 성전에 갖다 두었다.
  4. 이리하여 아사왕 35년까지 다시는 전쟁이 없었다.
  1. He also removed Maacah, the mother of King Asa, from the position of queen mother, because she had made a horrid image as an Asherah, and Asa cut down her horrid image, crushed it and burned it at the brook Kidron.
  2. But the high places were not removed from Israel; nevertheless Asa's heart was blameless all his days.
  3. He brought into the house of God the dedicated things of his father and his own dedicated things: silver and gold and utensils.
  4. And there was no more war until the thirty-fifth year of Asa's reign.
