마태복음 6:25-7:14

 예수님은 자연을 예로 들어 세상의 것을 구하기 전에 먼저 하나님의 나라와 의를 구할 것을 가르치셨으며, 남을 판단하지 말 것과 먼저 남을 대접할 것을 말씀하셨다.
  
  천국의 가치 기준(6:25-6:34)    
 
  1. Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
  2. Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
  3. Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
  4. And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
  5. And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
  1. "그러므로 나는 분명히 말한다. 너희는 무엇을 먹고 마시며 살아갈까, 또 몸에는 무엇을 걸칠까 하고 걱정하지 마라. 목숨이 음식보다 소중하지 않느냐? 또 몸이 옷보다 소중하지 않느냐?
  2. 공중의 새들을 보아라. 그것들은 씨를 뿌리거나 거두거나 곳간에 모아들이지 않아도 하늘에 계신 너희의 아버지께서 먹여주신다. 너희는 새보다 훨씬 귀하지 않느냐?
  3. 너희 가운데 누가 걱정한다고 목숨을 한 시간인들 더 늘일 수 있겠느냐?
  4. 또 너희는 어찌하여 옷 걱정을 하느냐? 들꽃이 어떻게 자라는가 살펴보아라. 그것들은 수고도 하지 않고 길쌈도 하지 않는다.
  5. 그러나 온갖 영화를 누린 솔로몬도 이 꽃 한 송이만큼 화려하게 차려 입지 못하였다.
  1. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
  2. Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
  3. (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
  4. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
  5. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
  1. 너희는 어찌하여 그렇게도 믿음이 약하냐? 오늘 피었다가 내일 아궁이에 던져질 들꽃도 하느님께서 이처럼 입히시거든 하물며 너희야 얼마나 더 잘 입히시겠느냐?
  2. 그러므로 무엇을 먹을까 무엇을 마실까, 또 무엇을 입을까 하고 걱정하지 마라.
  3. 이런 것들은 모두 이방인들이 찾는 것이다. 하늘에 계신 아버지께서는 이 모든 것이 너희에게 있어야 할 것을 잘 알고 계신다.
  4. 너희는 먼저 하느님의 나라와 하느님께서 의롭게 여기시는 것을 구하여라. 그러면 이 모든 것도 곁들여 받게 될 것이다.
  5. 그러므로 내일 일은 걱정하지 마라. 내일 걱정은 내일에 맡겨라. 하루의 괴로움은 그 날에 겪는 것만으로 족하다."
 
  영생에 대한 말씀(7:1-7:14)    
 
  1. Judge not, that ye be not judged.
  2. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
  3. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
  4. Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
  5. Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
  1. "남을 판단하지 마라. 그러면 너희도 판단받지 않을 것이다.
  2. 남을 판단하는 대로 너희도 하느님의 심판을 받을 것이고 남을 저울질하는 대로 너희도 저울질을 당할 것이다.
  3. 어찌하여 너는 형제의 눈 속에 있는 티는 보면서 제 눈 속에 들어 있는 들보는 깨닫지 못하느냐?
  4. 제 눈 속에 있는 들보도 보지 못하면서 어떻게 형제에게 '네 눈의 티를 빼내어 주겠다.' 하겠느냐?
  5. 이 위선자야! 먼저 네 눈에서 들보를 빼내어라. 그래야 눈이 잘 보여 형제의 눈에서 티를 빼낼 수 있지 않겠느냐?"
  1. Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.
  2. Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
  3. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
  4. Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
  5. Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
  1. "거룩한 것을 개에게 주지 말고 진주를 돼지에게 던지지 마라. 그것들이 발로 그것을 짓밟고 돌아서서 너희를 물어뜯을지도 모른다."
  2. "구하여라, 받을 것이다. 찾아라, 얻을 것이다. 문을 두드려라, 열릴 것이다.
  3. 누구든지 구하면 받고, 찾으면 얻고, 문을 두드리면 열릴 것이다.
  4. 너희 중에 아들이 빵을 달라는데 돌을 줄 사람이 어디 있으며
  5. 생선을 달라는데 뱀을 줄 사람이 어디 있겠느냐?
  1. If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
  2. Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
  3. Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
  4. Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
  1. 너희는 악하면서도 자기 자녀에게 좋은 것을 줄 줄 알거든 하물며 하늘에 계신 너희의 아버지께서야 구하는 사람에게 더 좋은 것을 주시지 않겠느냐?"
  2. "너희는 남에게서 바라는 대로 남에게 해주어라. 이것이 율법과 예언서의 정신이다."
  3. "좁은 문으로 들어가거라. 멸망에 이르는 문은 크고 또 그 길이 넓어서 그리로 가는 사람이 많지만
  4. 생명에 이르는 문은 좁고 또 그 길이 험해서 그리로 찾아드는 사람이 적다."
