마태복음 18:15-18:35

 예수께서 죄 지은 형제를 돌이키는 방법을 말씀하시고, 무자비한 종의 비유를 통해서 중심으로 형제를 용서해야 함을 교훈하셨다.
  
  범죄한 형제에 대한 태도(18:15-18:22)    
 
  1. Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.
  2. But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.
  3. And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.
  4. Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
  5. Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.
  1. "어떤 형제가 너에게 잘못한 일이 있거든 단 둘이 만나서 그의 잘못을 타일러주어라. 그가 말을 들으면 너는 형제 하나를 얻는 셈이다.
  2. 그러나 듣지 않거든 한 사람이나 두 사람을 더 데리고 가라. 그리하여 '두 사람이나 세 사람의 증언을 들어 확정하여라.' 한 말씀대로 모든 사실을 밝혀라.
  3. 그래도 그들의 말을 듣지 않거든 교회에 알리고 교회의 말조차 듣지 않거든 그를 이방인이나 세리처럼 여겨라."
  4. "나는 분명히 말한다. 너희가 무엇이든지 땅에서 매면 하늘에도 매여 있을 것이며 땅에서 풀면 하늘에도 풀려 있을 것이다."
  5. "내가 다시 말한다. 너희 중의 두 사람이 이 세상에서 마음을 모아 구하면 하늘에 계신 내 아버지께서는 무슨 일이든 다 들어주실 것이다.
  1. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
  2. Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?
  3. Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.
  1. 단 두세 사람이라도 내 이름으로 모인 곳에는 나도 함께 있기 때문이다."
  2. 그 때에 베드로가 예수께 와서 "주님, 제 형제가 저에게 잘못을 저지르면 몇 번이나 용서해 주어야 합니까? 일곱 번이면 되겠습니까?" 하고 묻자
  3. 예수께서는 이렇게 대답하셨다. "일곱 번뿐 아니라 일곱 번씩 일흔 번이라도 용서하여라."
 
  무자비한 종의 비유(18:23-18:35)    
 
  1. Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.
  2. And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents.
  3. But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.
  4. The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
  5. Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.
  1. "하늘 나라는 이렇게 비유할 수 있다. 어떤 왕이 자기 종들과 셈을 밝히려 하였다.
  2. 셈을 시작하자 일만 달란트나 되는 돈을 빚진 사람이 왕 앞에 끌려왔다.
  3. 그에게 빚을 갚을 길이 없었으므로 왕은 '네 몸과 네 처자와 너에게 있는 것을 다 팔아서 빚을 갚아라.' 하였다.
  4. 이 말을 듣고 종이 엎드려 왕에게 절하며 '조금만 참아주십시오. 곧 다 갚아드리겠습니다.' 하고 애걸하였다.
  5. 왕은 그를 가엾게 여겨 빚을 탕감해 주고 놓아 보냈다.
  1. But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest.
  2. And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
  3. And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.
  4. So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.
  5. Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:
  1. 그런데 그 종은 나가서 자기에게 백 데나리온밖에 안 되는 빚을 진 동료를 만나자 달려들어 멱살을 잡으며 '내 빚을 갚아라.' 하고 호통을 쳤다.
  2. 그 동료는 엎드려 '꼭 갚을 터이니 조금만 참아주게.' 하고 애원하였다.
  3. 그러나 그는 들어주기는커녕 오히려 그 동료를 끌고 가서 빚진 돈을 다 갚을 때까지 감옥에 가두어두었다.
  4. 다른 종들이 이 광경을 보고 매우 분개하여 왕에게 가서 이 일을 낱낱이 일러바쳤다.
  5. 그러자 왕은 그 종을 불러들여 '이 몹쓸 종아, 네가 애걸하기에 나는 그 많은 빚을 탕감해 주지 않았느냐?
  1. Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?
  2. And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.
  3. So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.
  1. 그렇다면 내가 너에게 자비를 베푼 것처럼 너도 네 동료에게 자비를 베풀었어야 할 것이 아니냐?' 하며
  2. 몹시 노하여 그 빚을 다 갚을 때까지 그를 형리에게 넘겼다.
  3. 너희가 진심으로 형제들을 서로 용서하지 않으면 하늘에 계신 내 아버지께서도 너희에게 이와 같이 하실 것이다."
 
  증참(證參, 18:16)  어떤 일을 증명하는 데 바탕이 되는 증거  
  탕감(蕩減, 18:32)  빚을 갚아 줌, 죄를 용서해 줌
