- And he began to speak unto them by parables. A certain man planted a vineyard, and set an hedge about it, and digged a place for the winefat, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country.
- And at the season he sent to the husbandmen a servant, that he might receive from the husbandmen of the fruit of the vineyard.
- And they caught him, and beat him, and sent him away empty.
- And again he sent unto them another servant; and at him they cast stones, and wounded him in the head, and sent him away shamefully handled.
- And again he sent another; and him they killed, and many others; beating some, and killing some.

- 예수께서 비유를 들어 그들에게 말씀하셨다. "어떤 사람이 포도원을 하나 만들어 울타리를 둘러치고는 포도즙을 짜는 확을 파고 망대를 세웠다. 그리고 소작인들에게 그것을 도지로 주고 멀리 떠나갔다.
- 포도 철이 되자 그는 포도원의 도조를 받아오라고 종 하나를 소작인들에게 보냈다.
- 그런데 소작인들은 그 종을 붙잡아 때리고는 빈손으로 돌려보냈다.
- 주인이 다른 종을 또 보냈더니 그들은 그 종도 머리를 쳐서 상처를 입히며 모욕을 주었다.
- 주인이 또 다른 종을 보냈더니 이번에는 그 종을 죽여버렸다. 그래서 더 많은 종을 보냈으나 그들은 이번에도 종들을 때리고 더러는 죽였다.

- Having yet therefore one son, his wellbeloved, he sent him also last unto them, saying, They will reverence my son.
- But those husbandmen said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance shall be our's.
- And they took him, and killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard.
- What shall therefore the lord of the vineyard do? he will come and destroy the husbandmen, and will give the vineyard unto others.
- And have ye not read this scripture; The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner:

- 주인이 보낼 사람이 아직 하나 더 있었는데 그것은 그의 사랑하는 아들이었다. 마지막으로 주인은 "내 아들이야 알아주겠지." 하며 아들을 보냈다.
- 그러나 소작인들은 "저게 상속자다. 자, 죽여버리자. 그러면 이 포도원은 우리 차지가 될 것이다." 하며 서로 짜고는
- 그를 잡아죽이고 포도원 밖으로 내어던졌다.
- 이렇게 되면 포도원 주인은 어떻게 하겠느냐? 그는 돌아와서 그 소작인들을 죽여버리고 포도원을 다른 사람들에게 맡길 것이다.
- 너희는 성서에서, '집 짓는 사람들이 버린 돌이 모퉁이의 머릿돌이 되었다.

- This was the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?
- And they sought to lay hold on him, but feared the people: for they knew that he had spoken the parable against them: and they left him, and went their way.
- And they send unto him certain of the Pharisees and of the Herodians, to catch him in his words.
- And when they were come, they say unto him, Master, we know that thou art true, and carest for no man: for thou regardest not the person of men, but teachest the way of God in truth: Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not?
- Shall we give, or shall we not give? But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said unto them, Why tempt ye me? bring me a penny, that I may see it.

- 주께서 하시는 일이라, 우리에게는 놀랍게만 보인다.' 한 말을 읽어본 일이 없느냐?"
- 이 비유를 들은 사람들은 그것이 자기들을 두고 하신 말씀인 것을 알고 예수를 잡으려 하였으나 군중이 무서워서 예수를 그대로 두고 떠나갔다.
- 그들은 예수의 말씀을 트집잡아 올가미를 씌우려고 바리사이파와 헤로데 당원 몇 사람을 예수께 보냈다.
- 그 사람들은 예수께 와서 이렇게 물었다. "선생님, 선생님은 진실하시며 사람을 겉모양으로 판단하지 않으시기 때문에 아무도 꺼리시지 않고 하느님의 진리를 참되게 가르치시는 줄 압니다. 그런데 카이사르에게 세금을 바치는 것이 옳습니까? 옳지 않습니까? 바쳐야 합니까? 바치지 말아야 합니까?"
- 예수께서 그들의 교활한 속셈을 알아채시고 "왜 나의 속을 떠보는 거냐? 데나리온 한 닢을 가져다 보여다오." 하셨다.

- And they brought it. And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? And they said unto him, Caesar's.
- And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's. And they marvelled at him.

- 그들이 돈을 가져오자 "이 초상과 글자가 누구의 것이냐?" 하고 물으셨다. 그들이 "카이사르의 것입니다." 하고 대답하자
- "그러면 카이사르의 것은 카이사르에게 돌리고 하느님의 것은 하느님께 돌려라." 하고 말씀하셨다. 그들은 예수의 말씀을 듣고 경탄해 마지않았다.
