- And one of the company said unto him, Master, speak to my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me.
- And he said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you?
- And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.
- And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:
- And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?

- 군중 속에서 어떤 사람이 예수께 "선생님, 제 형더러 저에게 아버지의 유산을 나누어주라고 일러주십시오." 하고 부탁하자
- 예수께서는 "누가 나를 너희의 재판관이나 재산 분배자로 세웠단 말이냐?" 하고 대답하셨다.
- 그리고 사람들에게 "어떤 탐욕에도 빠져들지 않도록 조심하여라. 사람이 제아무리 부요하다 하더라도 그의 재산이 생명을 보장해 주지는 못한다." 하시고는
- 비유를 들어 이렇게 말씀하셨다. "어떤 부자가 밭에서 많은 소출을 얻게 되어
- '이 곡식을 쌓아둘 곳이 없으니 어떻게 할까?' 하며 혼자 궁리하다가

- And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.
- And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.
- But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?
- So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.
- And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.

- '옳지! 좋은 수가 있다. 내 창고를 헐고 더 큰 것을 지어 거기에다 내 모든 곡식과 재산을 넣어두어야지.
- 그리고 내 영혼에게 말하리라. 영혼아, 많은 재산을 쌓아두었으니 너는 이제 몇 년 동안 걱정할 것 없다. 그러니 실컷 쉬고 먹고 마시며 즐겨라.' 하고 말했다.
- 그러나 하느님께서는 '이 어리석은 자야, 바로 오늘 밤 네 영혼이 너에게서 떠나가리라. 그러니 네가 쌓아둔 것은 누구의 차지가 되겠느냐?' 하셨다.
- 이렇게 자기를 위해서는 재산을 모으면서도 하느님께 인색한 사람은 바로 이와 같이 될 것이다."
- 예수께서는 제자들에게 이렇게 말씀하셨다. "그러니 잘 들어라. 너희는 무엇을 먹고 살아갈까, 또 몸에다 무엇을 걸칠까 하고 걱정하지 마라.

- The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.
- Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?
- And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?
- If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest?
- Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

- 목숨이 음식보다 더 귀하고 몸이 옷보다 더 귀하지 않으냐?
- 저 까마귀들을 생각해 보아라. 그것들은 씨도 뿌리지 않고 거두어들이지도 않는다. 그리고 곳간도 창고도 없다. 그러나 하느님께서는 그들을 먹여주신다. 너희는 저 날짐승들보다 훨씬 더 귀하지 않으냐?
- 도대체 너희 중에 누가 걱정한다고 목숨을 한 시간인들 더 늘일 수 있겠느냐?
- 이렇게 하찮은 일에도 힘이 미치지 못하면서 왜 다른 일들까지 걱정하느냐?
- 저 꽃들이 어떻게 자라는가 생각해 보아라. 그것들은 수고도 아니하고 길쌈도 하지 않는다. 그러나 온갖 영화를 누린 솔로몬도 결코 이 꽃 한 송이만큼 화려하게 차려 입지는 못하였다.

- If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?
- And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.
- For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.
- But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.
- Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

- 너희는 왜 그렇게도 믿음이 적으냐? 오늘 피었다가 내일이면 아궁이에 던져질 들꽃도 하느님께서 이처럼 입히시거든 하물며 너희에게야 얼마나 더 잘 입혀주시겠느냐?
- 그러니 무엇을 먹을까 무엇을 마실까 하고 염려하며 애쓰지 마라.
- 그런 것들은 다 이 세상 사람들이 찾는 것이다. 너희의 아버지께서는 이 모든 것이 너희에게 있어야 할 것을 잘 알고 계신다.
- 너희는 먼저 하느님의 나라를 찾아라. 그러면 이 모든 것도 곁들여 받게 될 것이다.
- 내 어린 양떼들아, 조금도 무서워하지 마라. 너희 아버지께서는 하늘 나라를 너희에게 기꺼이 주시기로 하셨다."

- Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.
- For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

- "너희는 있는 것을 팔아 가난한 사람들에게 주어라. 해어지지 않는 돈지갑을 만들고 축나지 않는 재물 창고를 하늘에 마련하여라. 거기에는 도둑이 들거나 좀먹는 일이 없다.
- 너희의 재물이 있는 곳에 너희의 마음도 있다."
